• Wireshark vs Netmon for precise time tagging

  I'm using Wireshark to time tag and get some statistics on multicast traffic. When there is not much traffic, the stats looks good, but as soon as there is a bunch of packets arriving at the same time, I have stats that are not even possible (e.g. round trip time of 0ms) I'm wondering if Netmon could be more precise in time tagging packet because it is not relying on the Winpcap driver?   Does anyone have any good, well priced online backup solutions for Windows Home Server? I've looked at using s3 but the pricing ends up to expensive with the amount of data I have. Mozy and alike don't support WHS. I was considering just getting a cheap linux VPS and using rsync to backup, if thats possible with WHS. Any thoughts or solutions you have appreciated.

  Is it possible to use two of these both providing connectivity to the same network name for additional signal by having one plugged into a hot data port and having the other only powered by the AC? It seems to have worked for one day, then it stopped and I have the middle light blinking, and the other "hot" one solid in the middle and flashing rapidly on the last light.

  With pure SQL - how to do it? I doubt it is possible, since even the SQL Management Studio fails to show the size of such a database in the UI. Already tried: exec sp_helpdb 'DbInRecMode' ...won't show anything; exec sys.sp_helpfile 'DbInRecMode' ... something like file not found (Msg 15325) Main pitfall seems to be the issue, that select * from DbInRecMode.dbo.sysfiles won't work when the database is in restoring mode. Any ideas?

  When connecting to network drives (e.g. using ExpanDrive) every operation takes a long time. I've discovered this is due to the Finder trying to render an icon preview of every music file and PDF it encounters. Over the network, this can take a long time. I know I can turn off icon previews on a per-folder basis using the "View Options" dialog. Is it possible to change these settings globally?

(I would have to switch carriers to sign up for a data plan as my current Chinese carrier doesn't support surfing either... if possible I want to avoid getting yet another card though.)   I'm wondering if I can connect to my wife's mac via VNC while she is logged in herself. I wouldn't be surprised if this isn't possible, although the machinery should be there with "fast-user-switching" support. So, if I create a profile for myself and I log in (and enable the VNC server/sharing for my profile), and then my wife switches to her own account which she uses on the physical console. Will I be able to use the mac ?

In contrast to regular installation, we 1st download the .exe or .deb and install it. So, how is it possible via web?   Hi all, In my office we are using mailer-denom server and microsoft outlook for email correspondings, my director gets all the email that are sending from the office by everyone to every client. But the problem is if my dupty manager is sending a mail to anyone director will get two copies of the same message because in certain cases the dupty manager has to keep the directors email address in CC option. So is it possible to my director to get the single copy of same message? Kindly help me out in this regard.

  I have a directory in my webserver for which I would like to serve up only pdf files. I found I can restrict access using the .htaccess, and using something like <FilesMatch "\.(text,doc)"> Order allow,deny Deny from all Satisfy All </FilesMatch> to serve up everything except a regular expression. Is it possible to instead restrict access to only files which meet some regular expression?

• Forwarding all received mail to another server in Exchange 2007

  Hi, We are moving away from our Exchange environment on a hosted server to one managed in-house, and I was wondering how to have the hosted Exchange forward all email received to the new server - the servers are not on the same network, and both have the same users setup. Basically, I just need the hosted Exchange to act as a dumb relay - accept the mail, send it straight on to our new server without trying to deliver locally. Is this possible? Regards Moo

  I upgraded my outlook 2007 to 2010. Everything was smooth, but realised later that, some of the archeive folders are missing. But, When I did a search on my archeive for a mail(exists in missing folder), it is able to show the mail in the search results. It is also showing the missing folder name in the search results.   My computer stopped working the other day, I came down and it was kind of chriping away then when I restarted it it only did the same thing, I unplugged everything not needed and it did nothing at all, I thought maybe powersupply but when I took cover off the green light on MB was on and powersuppy is making little buzz sound, but nothing happens when I turn com on other than the green light on MB flickers a bit, I checked memory in other com and it works fine, love to be able to fix with as litttle cost as possible, hope someone here can help...   I'm working in a environment of 40 machines, I've already installed snmp in 38 machines normally, but 2 of them appear to have been installed with a customized windows image, there is no OptionalFeatures, there is no ocsetup.exe, so I could not able to install SNMP. I tried to copy OptionalFeatures and ocsetup from another machine, but it don't work. For now I cannot simple format these two computer, it's possible to install it using another way?
