    We are developing a Magento application that has a module that works with FTP. When I run the same command on the gateway server, everything works fine so I believe that the issue is happening because of the iptables rules not forwarding properly. Does anyone have an idea which rule I need to add to make this work?

    What is a good tool to keep track of IT inventory? Systems that are installed and running, parts being ordered, that sort of thing. I'd love a central, web based system (preferably something we can customize) but my searching so far has resulted in a lot of dead open source projects that havn't been updated in a few years and poorly created commercial websites that don't do a very good job describing their product. The software doesn't have to be free or open source - a good commercial alternative is fine. It doesn't even need to be a web-based tool, that's just what I thought would be simplist to find and easiest to deploy. The number of assets that it will be tracking will be in the dozens, so it doesn't have to be a super high-end enterprise solution but it does need to do a better job than an excel sheet in a shared folder (which is our current "solution")

    I am learning DBMS in my college. Recently I was given an assignment to draw a E-R Model of a Bus Reservation system which handles Reservations, Ticketing and cancellations. I understand the theory about E-R model when I study from a book, but it gets confusing when I try to draw one from scratch. How should one proceed? There seem to be a lot of ways to model a E-R diagram for a particular requirement. It's really confusing. Can anyone explain taking Bus reservation System as an example? Here is the model I made (But I am not confident with it because at every step, I could think of many more alternatives!) - Entity_Set Passenger(passengerID,name,age,gender) Entity_Set Ticket(ticketID,status) //Status is either WaitingList , Confirmed or Cancelled Entity_Set Bus (busID,MaxSeats,Type) //Type is Ac or Non-AC Entity_Set Route(routeID,ArrivalTime,DepartureTime,Source,Destination) And a Ternary relationship between Passenger, Ticket and Bus with attributes as passengerID, ticketID, busID . Binary relationship between Bus and Route with attributes as busID, routeID . I have few doubts regarding - 1 . Should we take Time as a composite attribute with Arrival and Departure as its attributes (What's the difference if we take that way?) 2 . The same with Source and Destination. Should they be made into a composite attribute "Place" or something like "Location"? 3. Are there any weak entity sets here? Can you please 'create' a weak entity set and explain? Because I have no idea at all what to take as a Weak entity set?

  • Oracle R Distribution 2-13.2 Update Available

    Oracle has released an update to the Oracle R Distribution, an Oracle-supported distribution of open source R. Oracle R Distribution 2-13.2 now contains the ability to dynamically link the following libraries on both Windows and Linux: The Intel Math Kernel Library (MKL) on Intel chips The AMD Core Math Library (ACML) on AMD chips To take advantage of the performance enhancements provided by Intel MKL or AMD ACML in Oracle R Distribution, simply add the MKL or ACML shared library directory to the LD_LIBRARY_PATH system environment variable. This automatically enables MKL or ACML to make use of all available processors, vastly speeding up linear algebra computations and eliminating the need to recompile R.  Even on a single core, the optimized algorithms in the Intel MKL libraries are faster than using R's standard BLAS library. Open-source R is linked to NetLib's BLAS libraries, but they are not multi-threaded and only use one core. While R's internal BLAS are efficient for most computations, it's possible to recompile R to link to a different, multi-threaded BLAS library to improve performance on eligible calculations. Compiling and linking to R yourself can be involved, but for many, the significantly improved calculation speed justifies the effort. Oracle R Distribution notably simplifies the process of using external math libraries by enabling R to auto-load MKL or ACML. For R commands that don't link to BLAS code, taking advantage of database parallelism using embedded R execution in Oracle R Enterprise is the route to improved performance. For more information about rebuilding R with different BLAS libraries, see the linear algebra section in the R Installation and Administration manual.   • Distribute Windows (XP or 7) as virtual appliance

    I'm looking at ways that may be possible to distribute a Microsoft Windows (e.g. 7) virtual appliance (such as VMWare image) pre-configured and installed with a large application of mine. Is this possible? If not, is it perhaps best to ask clients to perform a virtual appliance installation on their site and then install my application via a script of some sort? For these kinds of scenarios I see that open source OSes are heavily used, but in my case I cannot use Linux or any other open source OS due to some requirements.

  • Newly configured MSSQL2008, TIME_WAIT but no ESTABLISHED?

    Windows 2008 R2, standard. No firewall locally on it. Newly setup because an old SQL2000 had two disks die (or could it be the raid controller?) at the same time. Luckily, I had fresh backups. The databases have been restored, and SP2 for SQL2008 applied. I can see various hosts trying to establish a session, but the (customer) sites does not work and I don't see the expected established sessions. A wireshark reveals a full three-way handshake. Since it's customer machines connecting, I cannot logon to them and restart application pools.. What on earth could be causing this?   • Downgrade 'local' packages in Debian/Ubuntu

    I recently unticked the "pre-released updates" option in Software Sources on my Ubuntu Lucid 10.04.1 installation. The Ubuntu wiki states the following regarding this source: The proposed updates are updates which are waiting to be moved into the recommended updates queue after some testing. They may never reach recommended or they may be replaced with a more recent update. Roughly 20 installed packages have indeed not made it into recommended updates, and occasionally cause conflicts when I install new software, as related packages of the newer version are unavailable now that I've disabled the source. How can I force a downgrade of all packages for which an earlier version exists in a enabled repository?
