• Is flash game development not considered 'proper' game development?

  I've come across this a couple of times. That flash game development is not 'proper' game development when compared to XNA or even Unity. Mentioned here: Need guidelines for studying Game Development Also here in some comments : Where to start with game development? This judgement also befalls java, according to some. Is it because in flash its so easy to draw graphics and to import and add on to the stage any element we want and also because flash needs a 'container program' to run and others don't? But flash is by far way easier to 'distribute' than any other of those mentioned above. Maybe except for iphone or android games.

• Can Ubuntu create a semi-transparent subtitle player for accessibility?

  I've asked this in Reddit.com/r/Ubuntu in here. I've tried to get the Subtitle Player linked here to work and it have failed on Wine. So I'm curious if Ubuntu community would be willing to try and build a simple transparent subtitle player for better accessibility on Flash Player, Netflix, or even in movie theaters? Currently, I'm watching movies/videos with an Android Tablet that runs on a blank black video for 3 hours with a subtitle overlay on it so I can enjoy movie and so forth, but it requires a bit of effort and it definitely isn't for everyone. (People will have to look at the subtitle playing tablet and the movie back and forth at 60 degrees angle, while a transparent subtitle player would reduce it to 5 degrees angle to watch the movie.) • Is there an alternative to the default lock-screen?

  I have a tablet PC that I'm running oneric on. One thing I don't like is that the default lock screen requires you to enter a password. Since this is a tablet, this means that it either needs to be connected to a keyboard, or I have to figure out how to get onboard to show up for the lock screen (caribou wont even start, and gok is messed up too). Even if I could do that, anyway, it's not what I want, since locking the screen is mostly to prevent erroneous input when I'm carrying it around (not for security). Are there any alternative applications for the lock screen? Anything like the plethora of android lock screens that allow you to solve puzzles or push a particular widget in a particular way to unlock the screen?

• Exporting the frames in a Flash CS5.5 animation and possibly creating the spritesheet

  Some time ago, I asked a question here to know what would be the best way to create animations when making an Android game and I got great answers. I did what people told me there by exporting each frame from a Flash animation manually and creating the spritesheet also manually and it was very tedious. Now, I changed project and this one is going to contain a lot more animations and I feel like there has to be a better way to to export each frame individually and possibly create my spritesheets in an automated manner. My designer is using Flash CS5.5 and I was wondering if all of this was possible, as I can't find an option or code examples on how to save each frame individually. If this is not possible using Flash, please recommend me another program that can be used to create animations without having to create each frame on its own. I'd rather keep Flash as my designer knows how to use it and it's giving great results.
