    Is it only for screen reader software? because browser renders both type of tags semantic and presentational in same manner. For example: for browser for us and for css <strong> and <b> is same. what is the purpose to semantic tag over presentational tag. is it for screen readers only or it's for better management of code? if it's for developer strong and b both can produce same result on browser.

  • <audio> elements not working on WordPress

    Hello all, I have a small WordPress site. I do a lot of audio work and I'm trying to post HTML5 audio clips in blog entries on WordPress. For some reason it isn't working. It might have something to do with the style I'm using on my WordPress site but I haven't been able to nail it down. I know my audio tags are valid, as they work elsewhere. Here's an example audio tag: <audio src="http://files.dannystewart.com/dom2008.mp3"></audio> And here's a page demonstrating it not working: http://www.dannystewart.com/html5-audio-test/ I'm quite sure this is something very simple that I've just missed, but any pointers would be appreciated.     I have read little about TortoiseSVN and it capabilities, but I just can't understand how should I use basic structure. /trunk /branches /tags I have created FSFS type repo and I have imported basic structure. NB! No checkouts yet. I also have my project files in another place. How should I continue my work from here? Should I checkout repository-place all files in trunk folder-add them-commit them-then create tag for current trunk state-create branche for my goal I'm tring to achive-switch to created branch and work there? By the way my repo is local and whole work too. I thank everyone for help.

    Follow up to this question about GNU make: I've got a directory, flac, containing .FLAC files. I've got a corresponding directory, mp3 containing MP3 files. If a FLAC file is newer than the corresponding MP3 file (or the corresponding MP3 file doesn't exist), then I want to run a bunch of commands to convert the FLAC file to an MP3 file, and copy the tags across. The kicker: I need to search the flac directory recursively, and create corresponding subdirectories in the mp3 directory. The directories and files can have spaces in the names, and are named in UTF-8. It turns out that this won't work in make, because of the spaces in the directories and filenames, so I'm wondering how to do it in rake instead...

    I want to write web app with client Javascript and back-end server (Python). Client needs data from server frequently in AJAX way. Data in DB, and expensive to load for each request. However, in desktop app I would just load data from DB once to memory and then access it. In web app - the server code runs each time for request so I can't do it (each run has to load from DB to memory again). How can this work? Can a single process run on server or do I have to use something different here? An example is like auto-complete here on stackoverflow for tags - how is it implemented in the server for fast caching/loading?

    I have a set of Java 5 source files with old-style Doclet tags, comments and annotations. And based on that I would like to write a generator for another set of Java classes. What is the best way to do that? And are there any good standalone libraries for code analysis/generation in Java? Any shared exprience in this field is appreciated. So, far I have found these: JaxME's Java Source Reflection - seems good, but it does not seem to support annotations. Also it had no release since 2006. Annogen - uses JDK's Doclet generator, which has some bugs under 1.5 JDK. Also it had no releases for a long time. Javaparser - seems good as well and pretty recent, but only supports Visitor pattern for a single class i.e. no query mechanism like in the 2 above packages.

What is the best way to do this? I'm assuming some use of CFDIV is the best way, but I'm not sure how to load the dynamic content (the CFINPUTs) this way.

    I have the following code to create and apply a few styles for a custom TextArea in ActionScript 3. public class MyCustomTextArea extends TextArea { override protected function createChildren():void { super.createChildren(); this.styleSheet.setStyle("sup", { display: "inline", fontFamily: "ArialSup", fontSize:"12"}); this.styleSheet.setStyle("sub", { display: "inline", fontFamily: "ArialSub", fontSize:"12"}); this.setStyle("fontFamily", "Arial"); } } I have two problems with this code. this.styleSheet is always null when I create an instance of the class. If this.styleSheet is initialized to new StyleSheet() to avoid this issue, then the TextArea instance does not seem to recognize any of the HTML tags that can be used with the htmlText property. Can anyone help in fixing these two issues? Thanks.

    I've noticed that MySql has an extensive search capacity, allowing both wildcards and regular expressions. However, I'm in somewhat in a bind since I'm trying to extract multiple values from a single string in my select query. For example, if I had the text "<span>Test</span> this <span>query</span>", perhaps using regular expressions I could find and extract values "Test" or "query", but in my case, I have potentially n such strings to extract. And since I can't define n columns in my select statement, that means I'm stuck. Is there anyway I could have a list of values (ideally separated by commas) of any text contained with span tags? In other words, if I ran this query, I would get "Test,query" as the value of spanlist: select <insert logic here> as spanlist from HtmlPages ...

    I'm using VS 2010, vb.net and asp 3.5. I have a simple default.aspx page that has Dim ctx As HttpContext = HttpContext.Current Dim cookie As HttpCookie = ctx.Request.Cookies("SessionGUID") Me.lbl1.Text = cookie.Value.ToString the page loads fine when running it from within VS, but when i build the site and run the page, it doesn't load.. it doesn't give me an error, but nothing shows up. This is what the view source looks like HTMLHEAD META content="text/html; charset=windows-1252" http-equiv=Content-Type/HEAD BODY/BODY/HTML I took out the < in the tags so that it would display here... If i take out the Me.lbl1.Text = cookie.Value.ToString the page loads fine.. All i'm putting to the page is some text and the label control. anyone have any ideas

    Hi, I'm getting these little diamonds with question marks in them in my HTML attributes when I present data from my database. I'm using EPiServer and a few custom properties. This is the information I've gathered, I save my data as a XML document, since I use custom EPiServer properties which need more than one defined value. This is saved as UTF8. It's only attributes in element tags which have this problem, such as align=left becomes align=?left?. There is no " character there, but I get the diamonds anyway. If I use " outside an element, it works and shows correctly. Any clues?

  • Making a relevant search of text in database using regex

    Can anyone tell me how I could count the possible instances of a keyword in a block of text? I've split a search term up into separate tokens, so just need to run through and do a count for every instance and removing punctuation or other special characters when making the count. Secondly, if someone has inserted search terms surrounded by double quotes, i want to be able to skip explode, but just count instances of that exact phrase. It doesn't have to be case sensitive and I would like to remove punctuation from the phrase when doing the count. Thirdly, in both cases i want to be able to ignore wordpress and html tags. Lastly, if anyone know any good tutorials for relevant searches that answer the questions above, that would cool too.   • Clean way to output values in ASP.NET MVC Views when value is not null

    Is there a better way to write the code below? I have quite a few blocks that are similar, and this is making the code in the Viewpage very messy to work with. The data value with the associated label only needs to be output when certain conditions are met, which is almost always if the value is not null.   • which layout engine for finding coordinates of html elements on the web page?

    I am doing some web data classification task and was thinking if I could get the co-ordinates of html elements as they would appear on a web-browser without taking into consideration any css or javascript being referred in the web page. My language of programming is c++ and the need results for a couple million of pages, so it has to be fast. I know there is a Microsoft COM component which renders the page in a web browser control and then can be queried for position of different html tags. But this is not suitable in my case as it first renders the whole page which takes up a lot of time. So as I found out, there are open-source layout engines WebKit, Gecko that can probably be used for this. But that's a huge piece of code and I need someone to direct me to the right classes or right modules to look into or any previous/similar work someone has done previously. Also, please let me know what you guys think is a good choice if I want to customize the existing code for use with multiple threads to make it faster. Thanks

    I have an object elem that I'd like to pass to the remove_tag_from_cart method. Here is my attempt: -elem = @tags[1] #{elem.name}#{link_to_remote image_tag('x.png'), :url => {:controller => 'questions', :action => 'remove_tag_from_cart'}, :with => {:tag_to_remove => :elem}} The :with clause isn't working correctly. The image does not even show up. If I take out the :with clause, then the link properly shows up and calls the method correctly, but I need the elem object in order to remove it from the cart. Suggestions?

  • Extract anything that looks like links from large amount of data in python

    Hi, I have around 5 GB of html data which I want to process to find links to a set of websites and perform some additional filtering. Right now I use simple regexp for each site and iterate over them, searching for matches. In my case links can be outside of "a" tags and be not well formed in many ways(like "\n" in the middle of link) so I try to grab as much "links" as I can and check them later in other scripts(so no BeatifulSoup\lxml\etc). The problem is that my script is pretty slow, so I am thinking about any ways to speed it up. I am writing a set of test to check different approaches, but hope to get some advices :) Right now I am thinking about getting all links without filtering first(maybe using C module or standalone app, which doesn't use regexp but simple search to get start and end of every link) and then using regexp to match ones I need.

    Hi, I'm writing some functions in php using exec() to interrogate a svn. The commands exec("svn list ".$myurl) works. Now, I try to get a path on a svn repository with the checkout command. When I put the command "svn checkout http://core.wordress.org/tags/2.9.2/ last-version" directly in the console, it works. But when I do this from a php script using exec(), like this : exec("svn checkout ".$myurl, $dir) it doesn't work. Have you an idea ??

  • JQuery UI Dialog widget problem with IE and ASP.NET

    The JQuery UI Dialog model form widget has an issue with ASP.NET when a button on the dialog is clicked to submit the page. It doesn't work because the form elements in the dialog window are outside the html form tags. So I used the fix of doing $("#dialog").parent().appendTo($("form:first"));. It works in Firefox but not in IE because the modal window now appears to be part of the rest of the webpage which is disabled. Visually, this is evident by the stripes showing on both the modal window and the rest of the web page.
