  • Determining if two lines intersect

    I have two lines that extend to infinity but both have a starting point. They are both described by a starting point and a vector in the direction of the line extending to infinity. I want to find out if the two lines intersect but i don't need to know where they intersect (its part of a collision detection algorithm). Everything i have looked at so far describes finding the intersection point of two lines or line segments. Anyone know a fast algorithm to solve this?

  • unix cut, remove first token

    I'm trying to use unix cut to remove the first two fields per line. I have input lines of of the form (token)(whitespace)(token)(lots of text) The problem is that there exit n tokens per line, so I can't do something like this cut -f3,4,5,6,7,8,9 is there a way to tell cut to take everything except the specified fields

    I have the following code: Dim DumpXlApp As Excel.Application = New Excel.Application Dim DumpWkBk As Excel.Workbook DumpWkBk = System.Runtime.InteropServices.Marshal.BindToMoniker(FilePath) DumpXlApp = DumpWkBk.Parent DumpXlApp.Visible = True I can't get the DumpWkBk workbook to become visible. Is the issue DumpXlApp = DumpWkBk.Parent line? I don't think it is the BindToMoniker line because I can do things with DumpWkBk.

    Hi guys, I have a View with a Master Page. The user control makes use of a Model: <%@ Control Language="C#" Inherits="System.Web.Mvc.ViewUserControl<BudgieMoneySite.Models.SiteUserLoginModel>" %> This user control is shown on all screens (Part of the Master Page). If the user is logged in, it shows a certain text, and if the user isn't logged in, it offers a login box. That is working OK. Now, I am adding my first functional screen. So I created a new view... and, well, i generated the basic view code for me when I selected the controller method, and said 'Create View'. When I run it, I get an error: "The model item passed into the dictionary is of type 'System.Collections.Generic.List`1[BudgieMoneySite.Models.AccountTransactionDetails]', but this dictionary requires a model item of type 'BudgieMoneySite.Models.SiteUserLoginModel'." It looks like the user control is being rendered first, and as the Model from the controller is my List<, it's breaking! What am I doing wrong?

  • PHP problems when transfering code from Windows to OS X

    I have recently bought a new MacBook Pro. Before I had my MacBook Pro I was working on a website on my desktop computer. And now I want to transfer this code to my new MacBook Pro. The problem is that when I transfered the code (I put it on Dropbox and simply downloaded it on my MacBook Pro) I started to see lots of error messages in my PHP code. The error message I”m receiving is: Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /some/file.php:1) in /some/file.php on line 23 I have done some research on this and it seems that this error is most frequently caused by a new line, simple whitespace or any output before the <?php sign. I have looked through all the places where I have cookies that are being sent in the HTTP request and also where I'm using the header() function. I haven’t detected any output or whitespace that possibly could interfere and cause this problem. Noteworthy is that the error always says that the output is started at line 1. Which got me thinking if there is some kind of coding differences in the way that the Mac OS X and Windows operating systems handle new lines or white spaces? Or could the Dropbox transfer messed something up?     I was unable to find any solution of my specific issue. I'm using Xcode 3.2. I'd like to indent the next line of function argument just one step in from the previous line: somevariable = pow( a, b); However, Xcode's syntax-aware indenting insists on converting the above into: somevariable = pow( a, b); Where the arguments are aligned with opening parenthesis of the function. How can I make indenting be configured to match my preference?

After 2h of research I couldn't find out how to tell Android not to squeeze all the TextViews in one line but instead to "float" non-fitting TextViews into the next line.     I have a CSV file in which every column contains unnecessary spaces(or tabs) after the actual value. I want to create a new CSV file removing all the spaces using bash. For example One line in input CSV file value1 ;value2 ;value3 ;value4 same line in output csv file should be value1;value2;value3;value4 I tried using awk to trim each column but it didnt work.
