  Hi all, We are implementing Exchange 2010 server and an eCommerce site. Both of these need certificates and I am confused what to use? I know Exchange need UC certificate. Can I use it for the ecommerce site as well? I did read EV is recommended for web sites.. I would like to know what to use and the recommended procedures. Here how we will be using the certificates: We are planning to use *.net for testing Exchange server Will be using *.com for Exchange server (Production) Will be using *.com for ecommerce site (Production) I also heard about certificates which are both EV UC.. please recommend the correct certificates to use. • Libre Office Impress opens in 11.10, but not in the launcher

  I double click my presentation to open it w/Impress and it opens, but there is no icon in the launcher (or alt-tab switcher) to indicate that its open. I tried keeping the Impress icon in the launcher, then opening my presentation, but the same thing happened. Then I tried opening Impress from the launcher and opening my file from inside impress...no luck either. What's up with that? btw, im using 11.10 and the file was made with office 2010 and saved as a .ppt if that has anything to do with it. Any help is appreciated

• Great User Group if based near Gloucester + Links from Entity Framework 4.0 session

  I had a really fun evening doing “my final” EF 4.0 session last night (26th May 2010) at GL.NET based out of Gloucester (although secretly I made it into a IronRuby and Windows Azure session). They are a great crowd and Jimmy makes for a fantastic host + it is a very nice venue (Symantec offices in Gloucester, lots of parking, good room etc) + free pizza + free SWAG + trip to pub afterwards (the topics were very varied!). What more could you ask for? The next session is June 16th and will be on multi-tenanted ASP.NET MVC and comes highly recommended.   Does anyone find this odd that this is a book from mid 2010 on a pretty popular topic and there is no "see inside" but even worse no reviews!?!?! I want to buy it but this extremely odd that for such a popular topic there isn't at least 2 or more reviews. I'd expect a ton of reviews on a book on a subject such as this. Dependency Injection in .NET (Manning) Anyone have this book that can tell me if it's worth my money? the date incorrectly states 2001 on Amazon and I've notified the author on that.

  Just found this, if you’re using Azure 1.1,  which you probably will be if yo'u’ve moved to Visual Studio 2010. To change the default database to something other than sqlexpress for Development Storage do this - Look at this - http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd203058.aspx At the bottom it states -   Using Development Storage with SQL Server Express 2008 By default the local Windows Group BUILTIN\Administrator is not included in the SQL Server sysadmin server role on new SQL Server Express 2008 installations.  Add yourself to the sysadmin role in order to use the Development Storage Services on SQL Server Express 2008.  See SQL Server 2008 Security Changes for more information. Changing the SQL Server instance used by Development Storage By default, the Development Storage will use the SQL Express instance.  This can be changed by calling “DSInit.exe /sqlinstance:<SQL Server instance>” from the Windows Azure SDK command prompt.

  I will give high level details of my requirement. We have one web application which accesses the database through SYBASE. The following technologies being used. Visual Studio 2010 .NET frame work 4.5 and for reporting Crystal Report. These are housed on windows server 2008. And for Database we use different servers. We are thinking of moving to SQL Server to be able to utilize the reporting features. My question is does SQL Server can be part of Windows Server 2008 R2 or we needed to have additional server for SQL?

  In the last few months since I started learning F# I have begin to notice an increase in the number of people blogging about the language. Sure, it could just be that I am noticing it more because I am actively looking out for questions and blog posts, but even in my day to day reading of Code Project Daily News and Stack Overflow questions there seems to be increased activity around the language. So what sparked this post? Well, today today I logged in and saw that the latest podcast by DNR was on F# and then immediately afterwards I received an email from CodeProject with a great article comparing F# and Scala. Currently, as of this blog posting (21 May 2010) F# is ranked on the tiobe site at position 43, but I am willing to put money on it that in the next few tiobe ratings this ranking will continue to rise till F# will be a top 20.

  Olá pessoal! Este ano de 2010 foi realmente muito bom. A NBR cresceu consideravelmente, eu tive algumas mudanças no meu trabalho, me casei, comprei um apartamento e tudo mais. Definitivamente, este ano ficará marcado para sempre. Fiz diversos amigos, dentro da comunidade Microsoft também. O melhor ainda é que as perspectivas para 2011 são ainda mais positivas. E pelo que estou vendo, este sentimento é comum a muitos amigos por aí, o que me deixa mais feliz ainda.   For any company that has made it onto a "Best Companies to Work For" list* in 2010 that hires programmers, what restrictions on web usage do they have in place? Does that company view unrestricted internet access as a benefit to their employees even if they might use it for non-work related reasons? If you can provide a link to back up this information, even better. (* I don't want to promote any specific publication, but they are easy enough to find.) My hypothesis is that a company that aspires to be one of the best needs to provide fairly unrestricted internet access and I'm trying to test it.

• My Generation Drivers DropdownList Empty

  I just installed MyGeneration 1.3.1 on my Windows Vista, and when I try to setup the default settings there are no drivers to select from. but it's OK in my Windows XP machine. At last I got the answers from search engine, it is caused by multi .Net Frameworks coexist and MyMeta.dll is registered by the .Net v2.0 while it should be registered with the .Net v4.0. So we have to manually register the dll. Please follow these steps: 1. Run Visual Studio Command Prompt (2010) with "Run as Administrator". 2. Enter the command "regasm.exe "C:\Program Files\MyGeneration13\MyMeta.dll" /tlb: MyMeta.tlb" 3. Exit Command Prompt when successfully registered. 4. Run MyGeneration and the proplem should be disapear. Hope this helps. Thanks for reading.
