  Hello again, I think the title says it all. I'm using Reminder fifteenMinReminder = new Reminder(); fifteenMinReminder.Minutes = 15; fifteenMinReminder.Method = Reminder.ReminderMethod.email; entry.Reminders.Add(fifteenMinReminder); on a brand new entry (where Reminder and Reminders are Nothing), but I cannot add a reminder using the above code (taken straight from the Google Docs), or set the entry.Reminder to fifteenMinReminder directly either. What am I doing wrong? I've had no trouble .adding When and Where's to the entry, but the Reminder doesn't want to follow the same pattern. Any ideas?

  Hello, My program sets "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced" value "Hidden". Hovewer I'm not able to refresh the explorer to take into account this change. I've tried: 1) SHChangeNotify(SHCNE_ASSOCCHANGED, SHCNF_IDLIST, IntPtr.Zero, IntPtr.Zero); 2) SHELLSTATE state = new SHELLSTATE(); state.fShowAllObjects = (uint)1; SHGetSetSettings(ref state, SSF.SSF_SHOWALLOBJECTS, true); 3) SendMessageTimeout(HWND_BROADCAST, WM_SETTINGCHANGE, SPI_SETNONCLIENTMETRICS, 0, SMTO_ABORTIFHUNG, 5000, ref dwResult); 4) SendMessage(HWND_BROADCAST, WM_COMMAND, 28931 /* Refresh */, 0); Nothing works. So what should I do? If I refresh Explorer myself with F5, then it works. Hovewer I would like some elegant solution, so it would refresh the display everywhere, even in OpenFile/SaveFile dialogs, which are currently open. I'm using C# .NET, Win7. Thank you.

• How do I shrink my SQL Server Database?

  I have a Database nearly 1.9Gb Database in size MSDE2000 does not allow DBs that exceed 2.0Gb I need to shrink this DB (and many like it at various client locations) I have found and deleted many 100's of 1000's of records which are considered unneeded. these records account for a large percentage of some of the main (largest) tables in the Database. Therefore it's reasonable to assume much space should now be retrievable. So now I need to shrink the DB to account for the missing records I execute "DBCC ShrinkDatabase('MyDB')"......No effect. I have tried the various shrink facilities provided in MSSMS.... Still no effect. I have backed up the database and restored it... Still no effect. Still 1.9Gb Why? Whatever procedure I eventually find needs to be replayable on a client machine with access to nothing other than OSql or similar.

  I have the following XML in a string named 'xml': <?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?> <Book> <Page> <Text>Blah</Text> </Page> </Book> I'm trying to get the value Blah out of it but I'm having trouble with xml.etree.cElementTree. I've tried the find() and findtext() methods but nothing. Eventually I did this: import xml.etree.cElementTree as ET ... root = ET.fromstring(xml) element = root.getchildren()[0].getchildren()[0] Element now equals the element, which is what I want (for this solution anyway), but how do I get the inner text from it? element.text does not work. Any ideas? PS: I am using Python 2.5 atm. As an extra question: what is a better way to parse xml strings in python?

• ChannelFactory don't have an address on the endpoint, why?

  When I create a new instance of a ChannelFactory: var factory = new ChannelFactory<IMyService>(); and that I create a new channel, I have an exception saying that the address of the Endpoint is null. My configuration inside my web.config is as mentioned and everything is as it is supposed to be (especially the address of the endpoint). If I create a new MyServiceClientBase, it loads all the configuration from my channel factory: var factoryWithClientBase = new MyServiceClientBase().ChannelFactory; Console.WriteLine(factoryWithClientBase.Endpoint.Address); //output the configuration inside the web.config var factoryWithChannelFactory = new ChannelFactory<IMyService>(); Console.WriteLine(factoryWithChannelFactory.Endpoint.Address); //output nothing (null) Why?

• Blackberry Eclispe plugin and emulator

  So I installed the following installation packages to develop Blackberry apps using the included emulators. I first installed them on a macbook pro, virtualizing windows 7 x86 with vmware. Everything worked fine, I created a quick HelloWorld app and it compiled and fully ran in the emulator. I did no other configuration. So I went to install this on my desktop PC with Windows 7 x64. I installed the exact same items. When I choose to run with the Blackberry Emulator, nothing happens. Any ideas? • Web.config Encryption Error

  Having problem with encryption. I gave full permissions to all users to RSA folders. I did C:\>aspnet_regiis -pe "appSettings" -location "web.config" -prov "RsaProtectedCo nfigurationProvider" Encrypting configuration section... An error occurred executing the configuration section handler for appSettings. Failed to encrypt the section 'appSettings' using provider 'RsaProtectedConfigur ationProvider'. Error message from the provider: Object already exists. Failed! Then I did C:\>aspnet_regiis -pa "NetFrameworkConfigurationKey" "administrator" Adding ACL for access to the RSA Key container... The RSA key container was not found. Failed! Followed by C:\>aspnet_regiis -pc "NetFrameworkConfigurationKey" -exp Creating RSA Key container... The RSA key container could not be opened. Failed! • IIS, Impersonation and COM Interop Premission Denied

  Hello we are in the throws of integrating a Document Management System with Dynamic CRM 4, have done similar things previously but in this instance we are having to reference a COM dll. We've configured the asp.net page (we are bringing the info in via a i-Frame in CRM), setting Impersonation = True in the Webconfig and ensured that Windows authentication is the only method available within IIS. All works as we would expect when logged into the server itself and the page happily does off finds all the relevant documents for the CRM account and presents them to a user in a nice Infragistics CRM styled grid. However trying this from a client workstation we get the following: System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0xC0042335): Permission denied. Impersonation appears to be passing over the correct details but nothing we've tried thus far has been able to make this work outside of logging into the server. Any thoughts as to what we are missing?

• emails not going out to all users

  I have a few scripts that send out emails to my users, and for some reason not all users are getting the email. The site is not live yet, so its no big deal yet but I dont understand why. I have set up a few fake accounts, one with my school email, one with hotmail and one with yahoo. When I sign up with my school email I recieve the welcome email, but I get nothing with the other email accounts. The same thing with my 'forgot password' email. Only my school email works, yahoo and hotmail arent working... I'm running on a Linux server with Apache. Using PHP and the kohana framework 2.3.4 Thanks.

• Can I push a modal view controller from within another modal view controller?

  I've got a rootViewController that, at one point, displays a peoplePickerNavigationController. On a whim, I added a [self dismissModalViewControllerAnimated:YES]; just before [ruleBuilder release]; and that dismisses the peoplePicker, but otherwise has no effect on my missing ruleBuilder. Any ideas?

• Why won't the VisualVM Profiler profile my application?

  I've created a simple 1 file java application that iterates through a loop, calls some functions, allocates some memory, adds some numbers, etc. I run that application via eclipse's Run As->Java Application. The running application shows up in Java VisualVM under Local. I double click on that application and go to the Profiler tab. The default settings are: Start profiling from classes: my.main.package.** Do not profile classes: java.*, javax.*, sun.*, sunw.*, com.sun.* I click on CPU. The CPU and Memory buttons gray out. Nothing happens. The Status says profiling inactive. When my application terminates the Status says application terminated. What am I doing wrong here? Are there some settings I need to tweak? Do I need to set a VM flag when I launch my application?

• MSXML2.XMLHTTP Request to validate entered URL in ASP Classic

  Hi guys. Thanks in advance for any help received. I want to allow our client to enter a URL into a text field which then checks whether the URL exists and works. There are 3 possible outcomes I want to check for: A status of 200 - OK, A status of 500 - Server Error, Or a status of 404 - page not found. When executing the following code in ASP classic I get a status code of 12007 when I should be getting 404. Is this because it can't find a webserver to return a code of 404?   I have a string which is basically a list of "words" delimited by commas. These "words" can be pretty much any character e.g. "Bart Simpson, Ex-girlfriend, dude, radical" I'm trying to use javascript, jQuery, whatever i can to replace a word based on a search string with nothing (in essence, removing the word from the list). For example, the function is defined as such: function removeWord(myString, wordToReplace) {...}; So, passing the string listed above as myString and passing "dude" as wordToReplace would return the string "Bart Simpson, Ex-girlfriend, radical" Here's the line of code I was tinkering around with...please help me figure out what's wrong with it or some alternative (better) solution:$myString.val($myString.val().replace(/wordToReplace\, /, ""));

• Visual Studio "Find" results in "No files were found to look in. Find stopped progress."

  Sometimes while developing in Visual Studio IDE, when you use "Find in Files" dialog to find something, the search fails and you will see the following message in the "Find Results" window. "No files were found to look in. Find stopped progress." Once this message shows-up all the subsequent searches will result in the same message. Nothing fixes the problem including restarting computer except Pressing "Ctrl + ScrLk". Does anyone know what causes VisualStudio to get into this state and is there a setting to permanently prevent it from happening?

• My MS Access control displays no text for appended items following an append query

  The control in question is part of a datasheet-style subform that feeds off a multi-field combo-box. The control is bound to the first field of the combo box, an ID field which is hidden from view (column width set to zero). Consequently, the second field (Code) is displayed in the control when an item is selected from the combo box. I'm using a form button action to append values to this datasheet. It seems that because I need to INSERT ID values in, the control is unable to display the corresponding Code value. Nothing is visible, unless I go manually into the combo box and select an item from it. How can I get the control to display the Code value?

  I added support for vCards to one of my ASP.NET MVC applications. I worked vCard support out as very simple and intelligent solution that fits perfectly to ASP.NET MVC applications. In this posting I will show you how to send vCards out as response to ASP.NET MVC request. We need three things: some vCard class, vCard action result, controller method to test vCard action result. Everything is very simple, let’s get hands on. vCard class As first thing we need vCard class. Last year I introduced vCard class that supports also images. Let’s take this class because it is easy to use and some dirty work is already done for us. NB! Take a look at ASP.NET example in the blog posting referred above. We need it later when we close the topic. Now think about how useful blogging and information sharing with others can be. With this class available at public I saved pretty much time now. :) vCardResult As we have vCard it is now time to write action result that we can use in our controllers.   I have a master page, which has a style sheet, which has the following line: .idle { background-image: url( '../../Images/blue_bg.png' ); } All my pages inherit from this master page. And this works well when the URL is http://www.domain.com/home/details/5, however the URL is http://www.domain.com/home/create, then, of course, blue_bg.png cannot be found because `../../Images/blue_bg.png' resolves to a directory one higher where there is nothing there. I tried the trick suggested by @codemeit in a similar question, but I can't plop down C# in a style sheet, can I? How is this typically handled?
