  I tried to install Webmin on Ubuntu by following the instructions on http://www.webmin.com/deb.html. Using the Update Manager GUI I added the repositories and the key deb http://download.webmin.com/download/repository sarge contrib deb http://webmin.mirror.somersettechsolutions.co.uk/repository sarge contrib However when I do an: apt-get update apt-get install webmin I get the error: W: Failed to fetch http://download.webmin.com/download/repository/dists/sarge/Release Unable to find expected entry 'contrib/source/Sources' in Release file (Wrong sources.list entry or malformed file) W: Failed to fetch http://webmin.mirror.somersettechsolutions.co.uk/repository/dists/sarge/Release Unable to find expected entry 'contrib/source/Sources' in Release file (Wrong sources.list entry or malformed file) Looing at the page at the URL I can see: 7029066c27ac6f5ef18d660d5741979a 20 contrib/source/Sources.gz Is the error caused by the fact that the Sources are compressed with gzip or am I doing something wrong?

• What is the easiest way to get perfmon counter names into a text file?

  I'd like to create a settings file for my logman command. I expect to have lots of perfmon counters. Is there any easy way to get all the perfmon counters' exact text anywhere? The only thing I thought of was to create a Perfmon Counter Log through the GUI and then export the list of selected counters--but I don't see an export option! I guess I could manually copy what I see on the screen, but that seems inefficient. I'm going to be dealing with tens of counters. Maybe there is a list somewhere? That'd be easier to copy and paste from.

  How would one (download and) convert HTML-structures into EPUB (or any other format suitable for the Sony PRS-505 reader)? My question is not how to convert a single HTML file into an EPUB file, as this is easy; what I mean is, I have some books I want to read on my Sony PRS-505 and these books are most often online in HTML format but withmany interlinked pages and there is one page with the list of contents, like this example http://www.edge.org/documents/ThirdCulture/d-Contents.html ... or sometimes it's a little bit more complicated as the list of contents only lists the chapters, and inside the chapters there are links to sub-chapters, like in this example: http:SLASHSLASHwww.hyw.com/Books/WargamesHandbook/Contents.htm (I can only post 1 hyperlink now b/c of user restriction, so this is why there is SLASHSLASH instead of //) I want to convert these examples and several others, with correct chapters, images and some acceptable formatting etc, so basically I want to make a proper ebook out of the HTML-tree. • Unable to delete Gmail profile in Outlook 2010

  I used to have 2 Gmail profiles set up in Outlook 2010. I initially had it set up using IMAP, but I deleted it (or so I thought), and re-set it up the old-fashioned way without IMAP. Then finally, I deleted the 2nd Gmail profile altogether. So now I only have ONE Gmail profile set up in Outlook 2010 and it works fine. The problem is that the original Gmail IMAP folder for the 2nd Gmail account is still in my list of folders when I use Outlook. I've already disabled IMAP via my Google Gmail account. But I am unable to delete the folder from Outlook 2010. I have checked in the account settings and it is NOT in my list of email profiles or the data files. Has anyone else had this problem?

  Possible Duplicate: Change left side link of the Save As Dialog for a DropBox one? Almost every time I use the standard Windows (XP) File Open/Save Dialog I get frustrated in how long it takes me to navigate to where I want to go. :-( (I won't even get into the MS Office dialog that makes things even worse) This is the dialog I'm referring to (with some notes) Notes: Wouldn't a Drive list be handy in here? C:\, D:\, E:\, etc. What about a breadcrumb URI? (the magenta list of links) Why isn't Program Files one of the icons on the left? (green) I'm always going in there for something Why can't I type "../../../" to navigate up multiple directories in the File name box? (blue) There has got to be some utilities out there that can "hijack" or "overwrite" this core windows dialog to provide a much better set of options. I'm looking for any/all solutions to help fix this dialog.

• SCCM for mobile device management returns 404 on /devicemgmt/server.resource

  We have a new Windows Server 2008 R2 machine onto which we have installed SCCM SP2 followed by the R2 package. We have enabled a mobile device management point and enabled distribution points to support mobile devices as per http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb680634.aspx We have also installed the Mobile Device Management Client on to a Windows Mobile 6.1 device. The client on the device fails to connect to the server. Our investigation so far has led us to the URL /devicemgmt/server.resource. However, looking in IIS on the server shows no such URL (in fact nothing apart from the aspnet_client directory) and visiting the URL with a browser returns 404. WebDav is enabled on the Default Web Site in IIS. BITS is installed on the server. Can anyone confirm whether enabling mobile device management will add visible directories to IIS and if so why it might be failing in our case?

Following the official OpenJDK directions I tried yum install java-1.7.0-openjdk-devel (as root). This yields the error message: No package java-1.7.0-openjdk-devel available. The Java6 JDK java-1.6.0-openjdk-devel and the Java7 JRE java-1.7.0-openjdk are both available, but the Java7 JDK does not appear. Is there a non-default repository from which I can install this? If so what is it? Distribution: Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 6.3 (Santiago) Kernel: 2.6.32-279.5.2.el6.x86_64

  I'm stuck how best to configure disk array. We have Hp P2000 G3 disk array with 24 SAS physical disks 300Gb each. We need to configure this array got 2 copies of PostgreSQL 9.2 because two different system. As we know it's recommended to store database and transaction logs(pg_xlog) files on separate disks. So we must setup 4 logical disk: 2 for transaction logs with RAID 1 2 for database with RAID 10 Is this right scheme of distribution? Or may be it is best to just make one big RAID 10 with 4 logical disks?

• mailman not relaying email to external address

  I have a setup of mailman with postfix on an ubuntu server 12.04. My problem is that mailing list emails are not forwarded to email addresses external to my institution. However the initial welcome email is received by everyone, internally and externally. in fact, a simple email from command line with mail is successfully sent to anyone after that, mailing list emails are only forwarded to internal addresses. the domain name I'm using for the server is not that of my institution who is hosting the server. Here is my main.cf: myorigin = sub.myinstitution.tld mynetworks = 127.0.0.0/8 xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/16 # this is my institution ip range relayhost = smtp.myinstitution.tld inet_interfaces = loopback-only local_transport = error:local delivery is disabled virtual_alias_maps = hash:/etc/postfix/virtual smtpd_recipient_restrictions = permit_mynetworks myhostname = mywebsite.tld mydestination = $myhostname, localhost.$mydomain, localhost I also found these two links on serverfault and ubuntu forums, but neither of these solutions seem to do the trick for me. • MySql calculate number of connections needed

  I am trying to figure my needs regarding web service hosting. After trying Azure I have realized that the default MySql they provide (through a third party) limits the account to 4 connections. You can then upgrade the account to 15, 30 or 40 connections (which is quite expensive). Their 15 connections plan is descirbed as: "Excellent choice for light test and staging apps that need a reliable MySQL database". I have 2 questions: if my application is a web service which needs to preform ~120k Queries a day (Normal/BELL distribution) and each query is ~150ms(duration)/~400ms(fetch), how many connection do I need? If instead of using cloud computing, I will choose a VPS, how many connections will I be able to handle on a 1GB 2 cores VPS? Thank you!

Is it safe to do the following, I have folder downloads1 in /home/user1/www/downloads1/ i have user2, can i make a group - groupadd sharedfiles add both users to the group: useradd -g sharedfiles user1 useradd -g sharedfiles user2 then chown -r -v user1:sharedfiles downloads1/ User 2 i want to have /home/user2/www/downloads1 but i want it to be a symlink like ln "downloads1" "/home/user1/www/downloads1/" lrwxrwxrwx 1 user2 sharedfiles 11 May 9 14:20 downloads1 -> /home/user1/www/downloads1/ Is this a safe practice? Or is there a better way to do this if I want them both to be able to share the files for distribution over apache. Is there any drawbacks to this? Thanks in advance for any light shed on this. I'm not 100% sure weather this should have gone here or on serverfault.

  I found a guide for setting up a bridge in Fedora and was trying this: $ nmcli connection delete p33p1 $ nmcli connection add con-name br0 type bridge ifname br0 autoconnect yes $ nmcli connection add con-name p33p1 type bridge-slave ifname p33p1 master br0 autoconnect yes I found that $ nmcli con delete uuid [uuid here] accomplished the first step. nmcli connection does not have an 'add' action in this distribution. Please help me do the 2nd and 3rd steps. Context: I am trying to set up a virtual machine. I believe this is a necessary step for the VM to access my network and the internet. Please feel free to correct me if I am wrong! BTW, I am a linux newbie, tech oldie. Thank you.

• Domain pointing to wrong subscription in Plesk 10

  I recently moved a domain name in the Plesk 10 control panel from one subscription to another. DNS is managed by another server so there is no change in DNS at all. The IP address is shared and remains the same so there is really no need for a DNS change. But the domain is still managed by its former subscription (where it should have been removed from) and is pointing to exactly the same folder as in the past, even when is not in the list of domains there. Subsequently, the new subscription do not have the domain under its control. Even this domain is in list of domains here and points to another folder.

• Does anyone know why rsync would keep sending the files over and over again?

  I'm trying to using rsync to backup some files, about half a TB. It's now it a state where it keeps sending the same files everytime it runs. for example: rsync -av /data/source/* user@host:/data/dest sending incremental file list source/file1.txt source/file2.txt I then verify those files are copied over... then the next time it runs it does the same thing rsync -av /data/source/* user@host:/data/dest sending incremental file list source/file1.txt source/file2.txt any idea why it's getting stuck on these files? I've tried to wipe the whole dest directory out and start over but no luck. thanks,

• automatic reply rule within Outlook

  My plan is to add a automatic reply to all incoming emails for a exchange mailbox. I created a rule that would check all incoming and created the template reply. Created it so it would match a server rule so outlook would not have to be open. If I send an email from my work account on the same exchange server, it works and sends the reply I created. With outlook open or closed. However, when I send email from outside the company, (my personal email), it does not get a reply. What the heck is going on there? I think the issue is within the selection of who the email is too. I have tried "only to me" "where my name is in TO or CC" as well as "sent to people or distribution list". So any ideas of why this isn't working. I thought this question was a super user question as appose to server fault. Thank you,

• Multiple Selections from Dropdown in Word 2011 Form

  Anyone know if there is a way to setup a Word form to allow the user to select multiple items from a dropdown list that are then displayed? For example, I need to setup a form to identify applicability of specific procedures to various levels of our organization. Since the listing of all departments under all divisions can be pretty lengthy, I was hoping for the ability to check off a division and then have a dropdown list on the same line to select the applicable departments (so the selections are specific to that division and not all listed on the form if that division is not applicable). First, I'm not seeing how to create a dropdown that would allow multiple selections. Beyond that, I don't know if that form element alone would then display all selected items or if that would require another element of some type. Anyone have any suggestions on this? • Distributing application updates using SCCM 2007

  Hi all, If there are any System Center Config Manager (SCCM) users out there, please clarify my doubt here. I have used the ConfigMgr console to distribute a custom application to a client machine. Now I need to distribute some updated files of that application. Isnt's it possible to add those files in the same package source used earlier and advertise again? Or should I use the SCCM software update section for this? Not sure if its only me, but the Software distribution process looks much easier than the Software Updates process in SCCM 2007. Please do let me know if there any online tutorials which explain how to update a custom application. Any help much appreciated.
