  • From a Maya scene to a WebGL animation, where to start?

    Hi, I've got some time, and I really would like to learn to get my Maya animated scenes into WebGL. I'm not sure where to start really. It would be amazing if I could make a Canvas element and place a Maya scene into it so that it's animating. Does anyone got a tutorial or some hints? PS. Answers about 3ds Max are also welcome!

  • Using Durable Services for saving wcf instances

    I am currently creating a service which connects to a DAL and that can run a few stored procedures, one of the issues I am facing is that for certain times of the month, we can't update the database, (at the moment this is done manually. This is done via the user adding a note to their calendar) But I would like to automate this process, one of the possible solutions I can think of using is a durable service. When the date is lets say the 1st of the month, the Update/Insert/Delete instances can get saved to a database, and then ran after that date in a batch. Is this the intended use of durable services ? Is there a better route I could possibly take ?

  • jQuery slideDown() Makes Everything in Wrapper Shift

    Hello everyone, I am currently creating a simple menu where there are several names of services and a user can click on one and jQuery will show it's corresponding paragraph describing it below it. My jQuery code is fine and does exactly what I want, however, I have one bug I have yet to iron out. Whenever I click one of these headings and it's description displays, everything in the wrapper for the page shifts to the left about 7 pixels in Firefox, it does the same thing is Google Chrome however I have not measured the amout but I am sure it is irrelevant. Anyways, I am using the slideToggle() command to show the hidden parragraph. I assume this is occuring because when the slideDown occurs it is somehow changing the width of everything and the "margin: 0 auto;" setting for the wrapper rule in my css is compensating for this change. Does anyone have any way I can remedy this problem? I have tried several other fixes I've found around the internet but to no avail.     Is there an API that allows lookup of product information by UPC? I know that Amazon has the Product Advertising API but don't think it can be used for any purpose other than sending traffic to amazon.com as per their license agreement here. Specifically, my application would not have the principal purpose of advertising and marketing the Amazon Site and driving sales of products and services on the Amazon Site Does such an API exist that I can do anything I want with the data? UPDATE I would want to use the API for my application, not create create such an API.

  • Killing Mysql processes staying in sleep command.

    Hey I am connecting a MYSQL database through hibernate and i seem to have processes that are not being killed after they are finished in the session. I have called flush and close on each session but when i check the server the last processes are still there with a sleep command. This is a new problem which i am having and was not the case yesterday. Is there any way i can ensure the killng of theses processes when i am done with a session. On the client side it would be done with ajax that polls this php page in every 5-10 seconds. Sessions may be cached in the server's memory so it can be accessible fast. I can store the chat in the database but my service runs on a free webhost which is limited, only 4 mysql connections allowed at a time which is almost nothing. I try to touch my database as least times as possible.

    Hi I wrote a webservice which runs correctly. In the webservice, there is a class which contains other classes' arrays and the webservice returns this class's instance. for example public class cls1 implements Serializable{ cls2[] cls2Arr; cls3[] cls3Arr; } I fill this arrays (cls2Arr and cls3Arr) correctly in service side. When I read this arrays from client, I see only last item of arrays. I checked on the service side before the webservice returns, and the cls1 instance and everything else looked good. What can be a reason ? Thx

    I have a WCF 4.0 service for internal use. Another team is trying to consume it in Java. IWAB0399E Error in generating Java from WSDL: java.io.IOException: ERROR: Missing <soap:fault> element inFault "PasswordReuseFaultFault" ... One source suggests it may be a Soap 1.1 vs. Soap 1.2 issue Indeed my WCF generated WSDL <wsdl:fault name="PasswordReuseFaultFault"> <wsp:PolicyReference URI="#blah_blah_blah_PasswordReuseFaultFault_Fault"/> <soap12:fault name="PasswordReuseFaultFault" use="literal"/> </wsdl:fault> notice the <soap12:fault>instead of the expected <soap:fault> I'm pretty sure that is the cause of the problem. How do I get WCF to generate soap 1.1 WSDL ? or What should I tell the Java team to do so their tools can understand the newer protocol?

  • Should I stick only to AWS RDS Automated Backup or DB Snapshots?

    I am using AWS RDS for MySQL. With it comes on backup, I understand that amazon provides two types of backup - automated backup and database (DB) snapshot. The difference is explain in here - http://aws.amazon.com/rds/faqs/#23. However, I am still confuse if should I stick to automated backup only or both automated and manual (db snapshots). What do you think guys? What's the setup of your own? I heard to others that automated backup is not reliable due to some unrecoverable database when the DB instance is crashed so the DB snapshots are the way to rescue you. If I will do daily DB snapshots as similar settings to automated backup, I have gonna pay much bunch of bucks. Hope anyone could enlighten me or advise me the right set up. Thanks. James
