• python dictionary conversion from string?

  if I've string like "{ partner_name = test_partner}" OR " { partner_name : test_partner } its an example string will be very complex with several special characters included like =, [ , ] , { , } what will be the best way to convert it into a python object - so I can process it I tried with eval but it requires " ' " for string, but how can we add this special character \' before starting and ending of every word, I tried regular express re.findal('\w+') but it fails when my string contains ' _ ' or like characters as it will separate the string by ' _ ' Object of this question is my application needs, user friendly language as input - and I thought Json Dict will be good - but user is lazzy to put " ' " before and after of each string... then I thought for yaml but its also complex, if anybody can suggest better user friendly input which I use as python object - then please help me out.

• Automatic release of objects when using Castle Windsor

  Hi, I'm starting a new project and I'm looking into using a dependency container (Castle Windsor) to help when it comes to unit testing. One of the things that is a little frustrating is that after I've finished using an object I have to tell the container to "release" the object. I understand the reasoning behind doing this, but it's still cumbersome to have to remember to do this. So, my question is, is there a way I can make the "releasing" of an object automatic so I don't have to remember to release it? Kind Regards Michael

  I have a class called object which has an element called 'level'. I want to get a list of all the different values of level on the page so I can select the highest one. If I do something like: $(".object").attr("level") will that get me a list of values that are the values of the level attribute? I suspect not, but then how do you do something like that. Note: I don't want to select an HTML object for manipulation as is more common, rather I want to select values of the attribute.

• Using True and False to select items to print

  I have a workbook that contains rows of information that needs to printed to a seperate worksheet in excel. I am trying to utilize a checkbox to indicate which items need to print and which items need to be skipped. The checkbox is located in column "A" and once checked and the macro ran, I want it to pick up the data in each cell of that particular row, transfer it a seperate worksheet (form), prompt and save the worksheet to pdf, clear the form, and then return to the main worksheet to continue until all rows have been checked. However, right now, my code is only looping through the very first "TRUE" statement and not continuing to the rest. • MVC, how view should be accessed from controller?

  Hello, I'm just learning MVC so you could find my question rather strange... My Controller have access to different shared objects through Container object passed to Controller's constructor. To access shared objects I should do $this-container-db to access Database adapter or $this-container-memcache to access Memcached adapter. I want to know should I put View object into Container with shared objects or no? From one side it is really comfortable to take view from this container, but this way I couldn't create multiple Views instances (for example, every time I'm calling Controller's method from View I should have one more View instance). What is the solution? How should I pass View object into Controller and/or how should I create new View instances from Controller? Thank you!

  I am trying to add an object to an arraylist but when I view the results of the array list, it keeps adding the same object over and over to the arraylist.   I have a XML file that I want to load into an unknown object type. (I say unknown object type because I am not sure what direction to go) Once I have the data loaded I need to do some processing on certain elements that are now loaded into the new object. For sake of example, we can say that the xml file is full of elements named <car> and within the car element I need to process the <mileage> element.   Hi folks, I am currently developing an application for some researchers in my university.It's a small java program that you can use by command line. The next step is to package that program and deploy it to an application server. Some clients program will submit requests to the server who will call the tool that I wrote. Lately, we will add more tools to the server and he has to dispatch the requests to the right tool. Which application server fits my needs ? I have looked for Tomcat, Jetty and Glassfish but it seems that they are only used for web application. Is it possible to use those servers in some context different from web context? I have sucessfuly implemented basic CRUD methods and I have no moved onto my DeepLoads.   I want to be able to check if I can edit a cell in a database with a new object Example method declaration: something.isValid(Object newObject, row, column); Example cases: If the editing cell stores an Number and I give it a String, the method will return false... If the editing cell has to be different than every other entry and the new object is the same as something else, the method will also return false.... My main goal... I want to check a whole row, and if everything is valid, I will edit the whole row.   I have an app that must get data from the Sqlite database in order to display the first element to the User. I have created a domain object which wraps the DB access and is a thread safe singleton. Is this following strategy optimal to ensure the fastest load given the iPhone's file access and memory management capabilities in threaded apps: 1) In the AppDelegate's FinishedLaunching event the very first thing I do is create the domain singleton within a new thread. This will cause the domain object to go to Sqlite and get the data it needs without locking the UI thread. 2) I then call the standard Window methods to add the View and MakeKeyAndVisible etc. Is there an earlier stage in the AppDelegate where I should fire off the thread that creates the Domain Object and accesses Sqlite?

• Making Django ignore string literals

  UPDATE: It turns out this is a deeper question than I thought at first glance - the issue is that python is replacing the string literals before they ever get to django. I will do more investigating and update this if I find a solution. I'm using django to work with LaTeX templates for report generation, and am running into a lot of problems with the way Django replaces parts of strings. Specficially, I've run into two problems where I try to insert a variable containing latex code. The first was that it would replace HTML characters, such as the less than symbol, with their HTML codes, which are of course gibberish to a LaTeX interpreter. I fixed this by setting the context to never autoescape, like so: c = Context(inputs) c.autoescape = False However, I still have my second issue, which is that Django replaces string literals with their corresponding characers, so a double backslash becomes \, and \b becomes a backspace. How can I force Django to leave these characters in place, so inputs['variable'] = '{\bf this is code} \\' won't get mangled when I use {{variable}} to reference it in the django template?
