• Multi sim GSM modem or alternative

  I'm trying to administer the SMS trafic of my businesss centrally through a web portal. In Europe (except UK) we don't have a numbers/SMS trafic provider like Twilio or Clickatell, nor any build in way to administer the SMS traffic for a number via http, so I will have to buy the long numbers and administer the SMS traffic myself. For this I was looking into a hardware solution for hosting all my SIM cards - I have like 400 sims cards (= numbers). I saw that GSM modems might fit in but they don't seem to scale up very well. Could you recommend me a GSM modem? If this is not the best way to approach this, what would my alternatives be? Thanks in advance

• Kernel panic error

  We have a dedicated server with software RAID1 and one of the disk failed recently. The disk was replaced but after rebuilding the array and rebooting the server freezes with a Kernel Panic message No filesystem could mount root, tried: reiserfs ext3 ext2 cramfs msdos vfat iso9660 romfs fuseblk xfs Kernel panic - not syncing: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(9,1) The filesystem on both disks is ext4. It seems the kernel can't load ext4 support. Is there any way to add ext4 support or do I need to recompile a new kernel again ? Interesting point that before disk replacement all was fine. The kernel is a stock kernel bzImage-2.6.34.6-xxxx-grs-ipv6-64 from our provider OVH Kind regards,

• CSS DIV not expanding when more text is added

  Hi there... I have a quick CSS question, i'm hoping that somebody can help me out! I have a DIV called #ContentPanel and I want it to be able to expand so that it can cater for more text if needed. At the moment if the text is longer than 500px (as specified in the CSS) it flows out the bottom and over the content in the div below. How can I set it up to auto expand and push all divs after downwards. • Is there an MVVM-friendly way to swap views without value converters firing unnecessarily?

  I thought what I was doing was right out of the Josh Smith MVVM handbook, but I seem to be having a lot of problems with value converters firing when no data in the view-model has changed. So, I have a ContentControl defined in XAML like this: <ContentControl Grid.Row="0" Content="{Binding CurrentViewModel}" /> The Window containing this ContentControl references a resource dictionary that looks something like this: <ResourceDictionary ...> <DataTemplate DataType="{x:Type lib_vm:SetupPanelViewModel}"> <lib_v:SetupPanel /> </DataTemplate> <DataTemplate DataType="{x:Type lib_vm:InstructionsPanelViewModel}"> <lib_v:InstructionsPanel /> </DataTemplate> </ResourceDictionary> So, basically, the two data templates specify which view to show with which view-model. This switches the views as expected whenever the CurrentViewModel property on my window's view-model changes, but it also seems to cause value converters on the views to fire even when no data has changed. It's a particular problem with IMultiValueConverter classes, because the values in the value array get set to DependencyProperty.UnsetValue, which causes exceptions unless I specifically check for that. But I'm getting other weird side effects too. This has me wondering if I shouldn't just do everything manually, like this: Instantiate each view. Set the DataContext of each view to the appropriate view-model. Give the ContentControl a name and make it public. Handle the PropertyChanged event for the window. In the event handler, manually set the Content property of the ContentControl to the appropriate view, based the CurrentViewModel (using if statements). This seems to work, but it also seems very inelegant. I'm hoping there's a better way. Could you please advise me the best way to handle view switching so that value converters don't fire unnecessarily?

• What ports do I need open for IMAP connections

  I'm developing a web application that connects to an IMAP mailbox and fetches emails as part of it's functionality. However now that I've put the app on my web hosts server I'm getting the following error: Cannot connect to Gmail: Can't connect to gmail-imap.l.google.com,993: Connection timed out After checking with my hosting provider they told me outgoing connections on port 993 are blocked. Is there anyway around this? Otherwise I need to upgrade to a dedicated server :S

  We are hosting our website (http://www.redappleapartments.com) with a hosting company in Sweden. And we are using godaddy as our email provider. So, our smtp servers are smtp.europe.secureserver.net mailstore1.europe.secureserver.net Our website sends plenty of emails to our customers and we are sending via godaddy (using SMTP authentication). Some of the emails are never delivered to the recipients. And sometimes we see such warning: The hostname in the SMTP greeting does not match the reverse DNS (PTR) Can somebody out there suggest how we can solve this problem?

• Where is the Plesk Error Log / Or how can I get Plesk running again?

  I currently have a VPS that is running Plesk and for some unknown reason it will not start. All the more information it gives me about it not starting is the following: Operation start with the VPS(s) VEID54635644 service "psa" is finished with errors: #703 Can not start/stop/restart service: service "psa" status is not "running" after command "start". This does really mean anything to me. Currently my server provider does not seem interested in helping me get Plesk running again so I am hoping I can get this going again on my own. I am assuming that there has to be an error log SOMEWHERE for Plesk, but the only thing I can find is located at /usr/local/psa/admin/logs/httpds_access_log and that just looks like an access log, not an error log (it is the only file in the directory). Is there another log somewhere in the system for this that I do not know about? Is there a way to find out why Plesk did not start? Thanks Josh Pennington

  I'm new to this ASP.NET stuff. In my page I have a Datalist with a FooterTemplate. In the footer I have a couple panels that will be visible depending on the QueryString. The problem I am having is trying to find these panels on Page_Load to change the Visible Property.   I have several posts on a website; all these posts are chat conversations of this type: AD: Hey! BC: What's up? AD: Nothing BC: Okay They're marked up as simple paragraphs surrounded by <p> tags. Using the javascript replace function, I want all instances of "AD" in the beginning of a conversation (ie, all instances of "AD" at the starting of a line followed by a ":") to be surrounded by <strong> tags, but only if the instance isn't already surrounded by a <strong> tag. What regex should I use to accomplish this? Am I trying to do what this advises against?   Hi, Our requirement is to send weekly newsletters to our website customers. For which we wanted to have local hosted SMTP server in our office. We are not using SMTP server provided by website hosting provider, as we wanted to reduce the network traffic and avoid IP blocking due to bulk mails. We are sending newsletters on weekly basis from our local SMTP server. But due to some reasons, some emails are going to spam and some are not reaching to customers and sometimes there are bounce messages to follow bulk email guidelines (mainly from Gmail). Can you please suggest me, how to achieve my problem. I also wanted to know what type of technology generally Linkedin or banks uses to send notifications emails to all its customers. When they send bulk emails, they will always reach inbox with out any problem. I want the same solution to implement for my website. Please suggest me. Thank you very much in advance.

• Issue Implementing Colorbox Correctly in IE (all versions)

  I've been pulling my hair out (and going way over allotted hours) to try and figure out why Colorbox isn't working properly on the following page: http://www.fiberforge.com I've set up a Colorbox test link on the very bottom right that says "Web Design By All Web Cafe", which should open up a small logo image. In Firefox, Safari, etc the modal behaves as it should, opening center center above all of the existing on-page content. In IE, not only is the modal not centered, but it appears as though it's not obeying absolute positioning and pushing all of the existing on-page content down below. Add to that the fact that it's not opening to the correct size and creating scrollbars next to the modal image, and we have ourselves one ugly modal. The scrollbars I can live with (by just resizing the min-height of the modal), but I can't figure out why it won't center. Let me say that I did not code this site initially and it was completed quite a few years ago, so there are quite probably numerous CSS hacks to get things to display properly, any number of which may be causing this problem. By contrast, Thickbox is also set up on this site (if you click on the "Play Video" callout in the dark blue area) and behaves correctly, though suffers from some weird sizing/padding issues, hence the desire to replace it with something a bit more modern and extensible. I can verify that there is no conflict having both of these modal scripts/CSS files concurrently as the problem still occurs with Colorbox even when Thickbox is removed entirely. Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

• Retrieve a list of the most popular GET param variations for a given URL?

  I'm working on building intelligence around link propagation, and because I need to deal with many short URL services where a reverse-lookup from an exact URL address is required, I need to be able to resolve multiple approximate versions of the same URL. An example would be a URL like http://www.example.com?ref=affil&hl=en&ct=0 Of course, changing GET params in certain circumstances can refer to a completely different page, especially if the GET params in question refer to a profile or content ID. But a quick parse of the page would quickly determine how similar the pages were to each other. Using a bit of machine learning, it could quickly become clear which GET params don't effect the content of the pages returned for a given site. I'm assuming a service to send a URL and get a list of very similar URLs could only be offered by the likes of Google or Yahoo (or Twitter), but they don't seem to offer this feature, and I haven't found any other services that do. If you know of any services that do cluster together groups of almost identical URLs in the aforementioned way, please let me know. My bounty is a hug.

• Table cell doesn't obey vertical-align CSS declaration when it contains a floated element

  I am trying to create a table, where each cell contains a big floated h1 on the left side, and a larger amount of small text to the right of the big text, vertically centered. However, the small text is showing up at the top of each cell, despite that it has a "vertical-align: middle" declaration. When I remove the big floated element, everything looks fine. I tested it in recent versions of IE, Firefox, and Safari, and this happened in every case. Why is this happening? Does anyone know of a way around it?   I'm trying to generate a table of contents from a block of HTML (not a complete file - just content) based on its <h2> and <h3> tags. My plan so far was to: Extract a list of headers using beautifulsoup Use a regex on the content to place anchor links before/inside the header tags (so the user can click on the table of contents) -- There might be a method for replacing inside beautifulsoup? Output a nested list of links to the headers in a predefined spot. It sounds easy when I say it like that, but it's proving to be a bit of a pain in the rear. Is there something out there that does all this for me in one go so I don't waste the next couple of hours reinventing the wheel?   The setup = I have this class, Transcript: class Transcript(models.Model): body = models.TextField('Body') doPagination = models.BooleanField('Paginate') numPages = models.PositiveIntegerField('Number of Pages') and this class, TranscriptPages(models.Model): class TranscriptPages(models.Model): transcript = models.ForeignKey(Transcript) order = models.PositiveIntegerField('Order') content = models.TextField('Page Content', null=True, blank=True) The Admin behavior I’m trying to create is to let a user populate Transcript.body with the entire contents of a long document and, if they set Transcript.doPagination = True and save the Transcript admin, I will automatically split the body into n Transcript pages. In the admin, TranscriptPages is a StackedInline of the Transcript Admin. To do this I’m overridding Transcript’s save method: def save(self): if self.doPagination: #do stuff super(Transcript, self).save() else: super(Transcript, self).save() The problem = When Transcript.doPagination is True, I want to manually delete all of the TranscriptPages that reference this Transcript so I can then create them again from scratch. So, I thought this would work: #do stuff TranscriptPages.objects.filter(transcript__id=self.id).delete() super(Transcript, self).save() but when I try I get this error: Exception Type: ValidationError Exception Value: [u'Select a valid choice. That choice is not one of the available choices.'] ... and this is the last thing in the stack trace before the exception is raised: .../django/forms/models.py in save_existing_objects pk_value = form.fields[pk_name].clean(raw_pk_value) Other attempts to fix: t = self.transcriptpages_set.all().delete() (where self = Transcript from the save() method) looping over t (above) and deleting each item individually making a post_save signal on TranscriptPages that calls the delete method Any ideas? How does the Admin do it? UPDATE: Every once in a while as I'm playing around with the code I can get a different error (below), but then it just goes away and I can't replicate it again... until the next random time. Interestingly in Chrome, the lines being printed out continuously, which is what I am looking for. I know that document.write() is called when the page is loaded according to this. So it's definitely not the way to update the webpage continuously. What will be the best way to achieve what I want to do? Totally newbie in Javascript. Thank you. Lily

• Automatically grow document view of NSScrollView using auto layout?

  Is there a simple way to get an NSScrollView to adapt to its document view changing size when using autolayout (the Lion feature)? I have tried to call both setNeedsUpdateConstraints: and setNeedsLayout: on the document view, the clip view and the scroll view, without any results. fittingSize of the document view reports the correct size. An NSPopover in conjunction with an NSViewController handles this nicely, with the popover growing and shrinking as needed, and I was hoping to get a similar simple and robust behaviour with the scroll view. I have checked the documentation for scroll views, but they don't seem to be updated to use autolayout. Edited to clarify: The problem I experience is that the document view, which holds subviews, is not re-sized when the subviews change their size, even if they call invalidateIntrinsicContentSize. The contents of the document view are hence clipped to the original size of the document view as they grow. The document view is created in a nib and set as the scroll view's document view in an awakeFromBib method. What I hoped to obtain was that the document view frame would automatically be adjusted to when its fittingSize changes, and the scrollbars updated accordingly. NSPopover does something similar - provided that the subviews of the content controller's view have the constraints set right and various content hugging values are high enough (higher than the hidden popover window's hight constraint priority, for one).
