• How can I convert a specific .cs file into either a .bat or a .exe file?

  I am trying to convert around 1,900 .txp files (a proprietary Sony image format) to .png. However, the .exe program I am using to convert these files only allows me to select one file at a time. I am running Windows 7. There's a TXP.CS file in the 'src' folder of the program, so I figured that if I was able to turn that into an executable file, I'd be able to use it to mass convert these files to PNG. However, whenever I try to convert the file using csc.exe, I get the CS0246 error (the type or namespace name 'Tools' could not be found. Are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?). I can't use Microsoft Visual Studio right now, so I'm hoping someone can walk me through this, or maybe convert the file to either a .bat or an .exe for me. Thank you. TXP.CS

  Guys, I have been looking for a portable method to digitally sign arbitrary text which can be placed in a document and distributed while maintaining its verifiable origin. Here is an example: a = 'some text' a.sign(<private key>) # => <some signature in ASCII format> The contents of a can now be distributed freely. If a receiver wants to check the validity of said text they can do the following: b = 'some text' b.valid(<public key>, <signature supplied with text>) # => true/false Is there any library out there that already offers this kind of functionality? When this code runs, however, result gets a value of 1. I was expecting it to be 0. Am I missing something? Why is it 1?

• newline in Rackspace Cron Job email

  I'm running backups against multiple databases hosted at Rackspace. This is working fine. The problem I'm running into is with the results email. I'm using Response.Write to write a message to the web page which is used for logging and is also consumed by the results mail sent out by the job. The problem is I can't seem to get newlines to appear between log messages. The logfile stored on the server is correct, but only the first newline shows up in the email. The mail is in Plain Text format so I tried using "\n" and System.Environment.Newline and neither work. I also tried using <br/> with no luck. Does anybody have any ideas?

  Hi. I'm trying to select all elements that have a class, get their ID's (if they have one), and append individual spans to the end of my document based on that information. This is as far as I've managed to get: var element = $(".foo"), element_id = element.attr("id"), span_id = "for-" + element + "-id-" + element_id, ; I am hoping to append a span for each element gathered. Here are some examples of the span format I wish to achieve: <span id="for-img-id-profile"></span> <span id="for-div-id-content"></span> If possible, I would also like to allow for elements without an ID to be formatted like so: <span id="for-h1"></span> I really appreciate the help as I'm very new to jQuery and am trying to learn.

  I have a need to display a currency value in my application. • Compiler: Translation to assembly

  I've written an interpreter for my experimental language and know I want to move on and write a small compiler for it. It will probably take the source, go through the same steps as the interpreter (tokenizer, parser) and then translate the source to assembly. Now my questions: Can I expect that every command in my language can be 1:1 translated to a bunch of assembly instructions? What I mean is if I will have to completely throw over the whole input program or if it is just translated to assembly per line. Which assembler should I use as output format?

  Hi Everyone! I get files in different formats coming from different systems that I need to import into our database. Part of the import process it to check the line length to make sure the format is correct. We seem to be having issues with files coming from UNIX systems where one character is added. I suspect this is due to the return carriage being encoded differently on UNIX and windows platform. Is there a way to detect on which file system a file was created, other than checking the last character on the line? Or maybe a way of reading the files as text and not binary which I suspect is the issue? Thanks Guys !

When it's used Get() then it assigns a variable from type bytes.Buffer which it will have the value to return.   I am still learning REGEX, and I've run into an issue ... I am trying to separate a string that is composed of a mixture of letters and numbers that are in decimal format: AB0.500CD1.05EF2.29 Into something like this: list1 = AB,CD,EF list2 = 0.500,1.05,2.29 A complication to all this is that I also have strings that look like this: AB1CD2EF3 Which I'd also like to separate into this: list1 = AB,CD,EF list2 = 1,2,3 A previous inquiry yielded the following snippet, import re pattern = re.compile(r'([a-zA-Z]+)([0-9]+)') for (letters, numbers) in re.findall(pattern,cmpnd): print numbers print letters This example works fine for strings of the 2nd kind, but only "finds" the leading digit in the numbers that contain decimal places in the strings of the first kind. I've attempted an approach using the following line: pattern = re.compile(r'([a-zA-Z]+)([0-9]+(\.[0-9]))') But this results in an error: "ValueError: too many values to unpack" Thanks for any and all assistance!

• MS SQL Server Dates Excel

  I have data this is linked from SQL Server into an excel document. The column format on the SQL Server is datetime2. When I get the data via an ODBC connection it comes across as a string? I tried using CAST(column AS DATE ) but that didn't work. I tried reformatting via CONVERT(VARCHAR(10), column, 103) as well but that didn't work. I tried retrieving the data via Microsoft query as well but that didn't work. At the moment I am using VBA code like: While (ActiveCell.Value <> "") ActiveCell.Value = DATEVALUE(ActiveCell.Value) ActiveCell.Offset(1,0).Activate Wend and looping through each column that needs this treatment but 100000 rows in multiple columns takes forever to loop through. Are there any alternatives?

• Windows Service Fails on Launch

  I'm trying to write a windows service. It installs fine, but fails when I run it with the following exception. I've searched for the string "MyNewProgramService", but I can't find any conversions that would throw this error. I've also added try/catch blocks to a bunch of code with custom exception handling without finding where this exception is occuring. I'm thinking it's somewhere in the auto-generated configuartion/setup code. Any ideas?   I am building an app for which I need to set up cron jobs. What I want to do is to set the specific minutes in a hour where specific crons should run. For instance: Task1 at 1st minute of the hour Task2 on every second minute of the hour Task3 every 2 minute only in the second half of the hour Building this in the standard Unix cron format is reasonably straightforward, but could not figure out how to do it in the Google-App-Engine. The documentation does not list any non-trivial examples. Any suggestions on how to do it? Examples would be excellent.

  It it possible to enable validation in an ASP.NET GridView purely declaratively? What I've tried: A GridView bound to an ObjectDataSource with SelectMethod and UpdateMethod defined The GridView contains some ReadOnly BoundField columns and a TemplateField whose EditTemplate contains a TextBox and a RegularExpressionValidator that only allows numeric input in the TextBox. The GridView also contains a CommandField with ShowEditButton=true and CausesValidation=true. If I click on Edit, enter an invalid value, then click on Save, there is a PostBack, and an exception is thrown in the server (Input string was not in a correct format).   I'm trying to read a multi-line tab-separated file in bash. The format is such that empty fields are expected. Unfortunately, the shell is collapsing together field separators which are next to each other, as so: # IFS=$'\t' # read one two three <<<$'one\t\tthree' # printf '<%s> ' "$one" "$two" "$three"; printf '\n' <one> <three> <> ...as opposed to the desired output of <one> <> <three>. Can this be resolved without resorting to a separate language (such as awk)?

For e.g. $authadv_new="insert into test.authad values ('".mysql_real_escape_string($sales->NEW1)."','".mysql_real_escape_string($sales->NEW2)."','".mysql_real_escape_string($sales->NEW3)."','" ... Is there any way to automate this? I mean the PHP code should be able to anticipate the parameters and generate the mysql_real_escape_string($sales-NEW1) to NEW10 values using a loop.

• Parsing a string representing a float *with an exponent* in Python

  Hi, I have a large file with numbers in the form of 6,52353753563E-7. So there's an exponent in that string. float() dies on this. While I could write custom code to pre-process the string into something float() can eat, I'm looking for the pythonic way of converting these into a float (something like a format string passed somewhere). I must say I'm surprised float() can't handle strings with such an exponent, this is pretty common stuff. I'm using python 2.6, but 3.1 is an option if need be.

What I want to receive is the following: Ticker _ Date _ Number of fem analyst AA _ 04/2001 _ 3 AA _ 05/2002 _ 2 AA _ 07/2002 _ 0 AA _ 04/2003 _ 1 So an easy counting algorithm that allows me to count for the number of analysts per company per month (the date is in 01/04/2002 format but I also have a month count variable which can be used too) Any ideas?

  I have a transaction log file in CSV format that I want use to run statistics. The log has the following fields: date: Time/date stamp salesperson: The username of the person who closed the sale promo: sum total of items in the sale that were promotions. amount: grand total of the sale I'd like to get the following statistics: salesperson: The username of the salesperson being analyzed. minAmount: The smallest grand total of this salesperson's transaction. avgAmount: The mean grand total.. maxAmount: The largest grand total.. minPromo: The smallest promo amount by the salesperson. avgPromo: The mean promo amount... I'm tempted to build a database structure, import this file, write SQL, and pull out the stats. I don't need anything more from this data than these stats. Is there an easier way? I'm hoping some bash script could make this easy.

  In web dev I come across these problems a lot. For example, we have a giant list of URLs that are in this format: /businesses /businesses/food /businesses/food/wendys /businesses/food/wendys/chili /businesses/food/wendys/fries /businesses/food/wendys/chicken-nuggets /businesses/pharmacy/cvs /businesses/pharmacy/cvs/toothpaste /businesses/pharmacy/cvs/toothpaste/brand ... and then we need to output each one, where the parent category is in h1 tags, the child is in h2 tags, and the children of that are in h3 tags. I can handle this but I feel my code is messy. I'm sure there is a design pattern I can use? Langs are ruby/php usually. how would you handle this?

• Why does the :nth-child(2) selector work on what I expect to be :first-child?

  I have an example of what I'm trying to ask. I use this kind of format often. I'd expect to be able to select that first div with fieldset div:first-child { } but it seems that it's only grabbed by the 2nd child selector. I would expect "field 1" to be red and not blue. It makes more sense semantically (to me at least) to say "style the first div in the fieldset like so" instead of saying the 2nd. Why is this happening and is there a way to achieve the effect I want (to be able to call div:first-child)?
