  Currently I am using wamp 2.X, and been using it for 1 year. Recently I found this XAMPP, and it looks pretty good (well, I could say AWESOME), can I install XAMPP and WAMP on same computer?   This is a bit of a followup to this question. I'm working in tcsh within GNU screen in an xterm. I have the following in my .cshrc: alias res_t 'xtset -t %h:%d "(%u:%g)" %e' # reset titlebar res_t # reset title right now alias precmd res_t And this works fine! However, when I run screen I see that the title doesn't get updated with the current directory. How can I make screen update the xterm title?

• Why does SOS update a file to a previous revision?

  This question is about the SOS version control system: I have a file that always updates back to revision 1. For instance, to check out the latest revision I have to specifically ask for that revision. I have checked in several revisions up to revision 5. However, everytime I do an SOS update, it reloads revision 1. How can I request that the file updates to the latest revision rather than an older one?

• SQL Server 2000 -- Log Shipping reliability?

  I've been asked to look into log shipping for SQL Server 2000 (yes, 2000): something in my memory tells me that I looked at this years ago and there were question marks over it's reliability. I'm trying to google stuff, but given the age of 2000 now I've put pulled up anything to confirm this -- most seem to say they're using it without problem, so just want confirm whether I'm just being delusional, or whether there were problems, but with a fully patched SP4 box these don't exist any more. • Easy management of multiple connections

  Hi, on a Windows 7 machine I need to switch back and forth two connections: the LAN connection (that works behind a proxy) and a wireless connection via a USB modem. This requires every time to activate / deactivate two connections in the manager and switch on / off the LAN settings. I don't think there is some way to keep two connections alive and specify which one to use based on the program, but my question is: is there a simple little utility that makes switching the connection one-click easy and fast? • How to fix a bad case rattle

  I have a full sized ATX case with several fans, including one on the door/removable side. This fan makes the "door" rattle or vibrate loudly when the fan runs at full speed, such as at startup. I can stop the rattle temporarily by placing my hand on the "door", or pushing an object next to it. Do you have any suggestions for a permanent solution? Note: The "door" in question is a slide out panel with two twist screws at the back to hold it in.

  I know in the "old days" it was good practice to shut this off. But nowadays I have heard that it improves deliverability of email. In the old days people were not worried about spam (or having their outbound email rejected), so that made sense. Of course, the question is only relevant to servers that send email.   The tablespace in Oracle 10g is almost 100% used. Size (MB) = 571,768.0 Used (MB) = 571,534.0 I just deleted (and committed) thousands of records in a table that belongs to a schema associated with that tablespace. Surprisingly, no space was freed up according to the Tablespaces page on Enterprise Manager. Question: is there anything that I need to do to force Oracle to release the space corresponding to the deleted records?

• MB with CPU and power supply - can be turned on but not off

  Hi, Not sure whether this question belongs here, I hope so. I have just bought a motherboard and CPU. I have installed the CPU, cooler and connected to CPUFAN on the MB. I have plugged the power supply to MB and the cable from "ON" button to pins named "PWR" and the LEDs. However when I turn on the PC, both HDD and POWER leds are continously on and the PC cannot be turned out. What could I be missing?

  While shopping for an SSD I have noticed that some manufacturers promote their "Pro" models as the ones sporting ECC data protection. Those manufacturers do not mention ECC in their budget models descriptions. However, Wikipedia article on flash memory states that "NAND relies on ECC to compensate for bits that may spontaneously fail during normal device operation." So the question is does any SSD device use ECC behind the scenes for its normal operation and is that ECC "feature" just a marketing ploy?

  I don't know if this is the right place to ask this question, but... I need a scanner (paper feed scanner) where depending on either a barcode, or number, or some identifier on the paper being scanned, creates a PDF file with a name based on that identifier. For example: If I scanned a page with the number 12345 on the top-left of the page, a PDF file named 12345.pdf would be created. Any suggestions at all would be greatly appreciated!
