• JAXB + JAK java.lang.ClassCastException

  Hi, I read page about JAK implementation where is a piece of code from pom.xml file (Listing 1). This piece of code is actually commented in pom.xml file so i uncommented it in order to add my own schema to compile. • The HTML5 doctype is not triggering standards mode in IE8

  i work for a company where all our sites currently use the XHTML 1.0 transitional doctype (yes i know it is very old school). I want to change them all to use the HTML5 doctype seeing as it is backwards compatible. One of the reasons why i want to make the switch is because in IE8 if someone has the developer tools installed then the old XHTML doctype switches the browser into compatibility mode and renders the page as IE7. From reading up on it i was led to believe that the HTML5 doctype will set any page to render in standards mode, but this is not happening when i test it on our staging server it still flips into IE7 rendering mode. The weird thing is if i save the page with HTML5 doctype locally and open it, it is rendering in IE8 standards mode. There must be something else causing it to drop into compatibility IE7 rendering. Any ideas what this could be? • Web service using Data Dynamics ActiveReports occasionally slows down

  My company is running into a problem with a web service that is written in C#/ASP.Net. The service receives an identity key for data in SQL Server and a path to generate and save a PDF report for this data. In most cases, this web service returns results to the calling web pages very quickly, usually within a few seconds max. However, it seems to occasionally hit a significant slowdown. The web application calling the web service will generate a timeout error when this slowdown occurs. We have checked and the PDF does get created and saved to the server, so it looks like the web service eventually finishes executing. It seems to take about 1 to 2 minutes for processing to have completed. The PDF is generated using ActiveReports from Data Dynamics. Wwhen this problem occurs, making a small change to the web service's config file (ie, adding a blank space to a connection string line) seems to restart the web service and everything is perfectly ok for a period of time afterwards. Other web applications that are running on the same web server do not seem to experience this type of behavior, only this particular web service. I have added the code for the web service below. It is basic calls to 3rd party libraries. We are not able to recreate this problem in test. I am wondering what might be causing this issue? • Hudson + Jboss AS 7.1 + Maven 3 Project Build Error

  I've wanted to prepare an environment that I'm able to build my project and run my tests on a integration server. So I've installed an Jboss application server 7.1 and deployed hudson.war to it. So how can I configure the hudson to force it looking at the right place for jars? Is there anyone has an idea? Thanks in advance.

• Preference List only shows first element

  I am developing a PreferenceActivity with custom Preference views. My problem is that I created a view with a ListView and it only shows the first element. I was using curl with regular authentication and everything was working fine, but I switched to OAuth using this library, and now everything except update_profile_image works. I read something about twitter OAuth having problems with multipart data, but that was a while ago and the plugin is supposed to have dealt with that issue. • ScrollView in android

  hi, I' have a view that contains several textViews an ImageView and a Button . Because on small screen devices (or in landscape mode on big ones ) not all are visible I use a Scroll as the parent of the whole hierarchy to allow the user to view all the information. The things are suck that the button must be at the buttom of the view . However on big screen device , where it remains enough space at the buttom , the button is put immediatelly below the last textview,and seems to occupy all the remaining space (resulting in an unnactractive view) . Trying to use android:allignParentButtom ="true" not only that it has no effect but it puts the button at top of the screen . If simply pass objects 'as is' that boost throws exception about duplicated pointers. But I'm confused of creating pointers to save objects. The second (2) is a real trouble. If comment out string after (2.1) then boost will corectly load a first Key object (and init internal Door pointer pDoor), but will not init a second Door (d_in) object. After this I have an inited *k_in* object with valid pointer to Door and empty *d_in* object. If use string (2.2) then boost will create two Key and Door objects somewhere in memory and save addresses in pointers. But I want to have two objects *k_in* and *d_in*. So, if I copy a values of memory objects to local variables then I store only addresses, for example, I can write code after (2.2): d_in.id = pD->id; d_in.pKey = pD->pKey; But in this case I store only a pointer and memory object remains in memory and I cannot delete it, because *d_in.pKey* will be unvalid. And I cannot perform a deep copy with operator=(), because if I write code like this: Key &operator==(const Key &k) { if (this != &k) { id = k.id; // call to Door::operator=() that calls *pKey = *d.pKey and so on *pDoor = *k.pDoor; } return *this; } then I will get a something like recursion of operator=()s of Key and Door. • Is possible to make mt.exe embed manifest files correctly in Visual Studio 2008?

  I found that mt.exe fails to correctly create and embed manifest files into executables when run inside a VCPROJ. For example the same executable load well on Windows 7 but failed to load on Windows XP. The manifest was embedded and correct. After I spend lots of hours searching for possible reasons and solution I modified the project settings to generate the manifest outside the exe file. Now it works on both systems. • How do you set Android ViewPager to encompass only one View or Layout?

  I am struggling with the concepts needed to properly implement a view pager. By following some tutorials and referencing developer.android.com, I am able to get a view pager almost fully functional. The pager will flip through several text views that have been setup to say "My Message 0" through "My Message 9". The problem is that the view pager also flips the button on the bottom of the activity and the red block that is right above the button. I would like to have the view pager only cycle through the text. Would you please help me understand what I'm doing wrong? • Problem with socket communication between C# and Flex

  Hi all, I am implementing a simulated b/s stock data system. I am using flex and c# for client and server sides. I found flash has a security policy and I handled the policy-file-request in my server code. But seems it doesn't work, because the code jumped out at "socket.Receive(b)" after connection. I've tried sending message on client in the connection handler, in that case the server can receive correct message. But the auto-generated "policy-file-request" can never be received, and the client can get no data sending from server. • How to save a large nhibernate collection without causing OutOfMemoryException

  How do I save a large collection with NHibernate which has elements that surpass the amount of memory allowed for the process? I am trying to save a Video object with nhibernate which has a large number of Screenshots (see below for code). Each Screenshot contains a byte[], so after nhibernate tries to save 10,000 or so records at once, an OutOfMemoryException is thrown. Normally I would try to break up the save and flush the session after every 500 or so records, but in this case, I need to save the collection because it automatically saves the SortOrder and VideoId for me (without the Screenshot having to know that it was a part of a Video). What is the best approach given my situation? Is there a way to break up this save without forcing the Screenshot to have knowledge of its parent Video? Both class are marked with a [DataContract] attribute. I dont want to hardcode the known type of a class, like putting a [ServiceKnownType(typeof(Employee))] at the Person class so that WCF will know that Employee is a subclass of Person. I just plain coded it in the host project. I guess there must be a problem at the config file (please see config file above). Or I must be missing something. • TabHost / TabWidget - Scale Background Image ?

  I need to scale my TabWidget background images so they maintain aspect ratio. I am using a TabHost with a TabWidget. I am then using setBackgroundDrawable to set the images. I found a close answer here - Background in tab widget ignore scaling. However, I'm not sure just where to add the new Drawable code. (Working with the HelloTabWidget example, none of my modules use RelativeLayout, and I don't see any layout for "tabcontent".) I also found this thread - Android: Scale a Drawable or background image?. According to it, it sounds like I would have to pre-scale my images, which defeats the whole purpose of making them scaleable. I also found another thread where someone subclassed the Drawable class so it would either not scale, or it would scale properly. I can't find it now, but that seems like a LOT to go through when you should just be able to do something simple like mTab.setScaleType(centerInside). • Tridion New UI Preview Site is not reflecting with the changes unless pulished

  I have new UI setup and noticing that when ever I update a page it is not refreshing with the updated changes. I do not see either the page_{sessionId/GUID}.aspx created either. Checked the session preview DB and I see the changes in PAGE_CONTENT table with new rendered content, so seems like session preview is working fine but the Preview site is not able to get the changes and refresh the UI. I have checked all the preview handlers and mappings for .aspx and made sure they are correct in web.config. Any thoughts on why the preview site not showing up the changes? • Web service occasionally slows down significantly

  My company is running into a problem with a web service that is written in C#/ASP.Net. The service receives an identity key for data in SQL Server and a path to generate and save a PDF report for this data. In most cases, this web service returns results to the calling web pages very quickly, usually within a few seconds max. However, it seems to occasionally hit a significant slowdown. The web application calling the web service will generate a timeout error when this slowdown occurs. We have checked and the PDF does get created and saved to the server, so it looks like the web service eventually finishes executing. It seems to take about 1 to 2 minutes for processing to have completed. The PDF is generated using ActiveReports from Data Dynamics. Wwhen this problem occurs, making a small change to the web service's config file (ie, adding a blank space to a connection string line) seems to restart the web service and everything is perfectly ok for a period of time afterwards. Other web applications that are running on the same web server do not seem to experience this type of behavior, only this particular web service. I have added the code for the web service below. It is basic calls to 3rd party libraries. We are not able to recreate this problem in test. I am wondering what might be causing this issue?
