• Accessing Instance Attributes from Secondary Thread (iPhone-SDK)

  I have a class with an NSDictionary attribute. Inside this class I dispatch another thread to handle NSXMLParser handling. Inside my -didStartElement, I access the dictionary in the class (to compare an element found in the XML to one in the dictionary). At this point I get undefined results. Using NSLog (I'm not advanced in XCode debugging), I see that it bombs around access of the NSDictionary. I tried just iterating the dictionary and dumping the key/values inside the didStartElement and this bombs at different keys each time. The only thing I can conclude is that something is not kosher that I'm doing with regards to accessing main thread attributes from the secondary thread. I'm somewhat new to multithreading and am not sure what the best protocol is safely access attributes from additional threads. Thanks all.

  I have a button as in the following: <Button android:text="Submit" android:id="@+id/Button01" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content"></Button> In my onCreate event, I am calling Button01 like this: setContentView(R.layout.main); View Button01 = this.findViewById(R.id.Button01); Button01.setOnClickListener(this); There is a background in the application, and I want to set an opacity on this submit button. How can I set an opacity for this view? Is it something that I can set on the java side, or can I set in the main.xml file? On the java side I tried Button01.mutate().SetAlpha(100), but it gave me an error. Thank you.

  Hello I'm building my first system using Twitters OAuth and have some issues. First, I'm using Abraham's Twitter-class for this and I have followed this tutorial. However, I get these lines on my callback.php: Warning: array_merge() [function.array-merge]: Argument #2 is not an array in C:\xampp\htdocs\twitter\twitterOAuth\OAuth.php on line 301 Warning: strtoupper() expects parameter 1 to be string, array given in C:\xampp\htdocs\twitter\twitterOAuth\OAuth.php on line 373 Oops - an error has occurred. SimpleXMLElement Object ( [request] => /account/verify_credentials.xml [error] => Could not authenticate you. ) Is this problem by Twitter-class, or am I doing something wrong?   Hi there. I'm currently setting up Hudson to push artifacts to my Nexus repository upon succesful builds. Unfortunately I am having some trouble with getting Hudson to deploy using Nexus groups. I have two groups, upbeat.nexus (private) and public.nexus (public). I've set up the associated repositories in Nexus already.   I'm in process of migrating a JSF 1.2 application to JSF 2.x. My application is using the following APIs: maven-jetty-plugin (version 6.1.10) maven-compiler-plugin (version 2.3.1) myfaces-api & -impl (version 1.2.7) jsf-facelets (version 1.1.14) richfaces (version 3.3.3) javax servlet jstl (version 1.2) javax servlet-api (version 2.5) and some other plugins as well. I updated the versions in faces-config.xml file and removed Facelets 1.1.14 libs and replaced MyFaces 1.2 by JSF 2.x libs, however the application didn't work.   Good day. I've been building an installer for our product using the WIX(Windows Installer XML) technology. The expected behavior is that the product is launched, if the check box is checked after installation. This has been working for some time now, but we found out recently that UAC of Win 7, and Vista is stopping the application from launching. I've done some research and it has been suggested to me that I should add the attributes Execute='deferred' and Impersonate='no'. Which I did, but then found out that to execute deferred, the CustomAction has to be performed, between the InstallInitialize, and IntallFinalize phases; which is not what I need. I need the product to launch AFTER install finalize, IF the launch checkbox is checked. Is there any other way to elevate permissions?   Im writing a small wcf/wpf app to resize images but wcf is giving me grief when I try to send an image of size 28K to my service from the client. The service works fine when I send it smaller images. I immediately assumed that this was a configuration issue and I've trawled the web looking at posts regarding the MaxArrayLength property in my binding configuration. Once I added a stateless EJB to my app, the logger started ignoring my logback.xml and stopped using my appenders. Currently, pressing 'Done' just dismisses the keyboard but leaves the dialog.   This question relates to a previous question of mine. I am attempting to set-up a low overhead Web Container using Jetty 7 that I can deploy Web Services using Metro 2.0.   Are "Visual Studio Setup" Projects suitable for complex setups in different versions? The application is rather large ( 500.000 lines of code) and is under continuous development. Every 6 to 10 month a new version gets released. We have multiple configuration files (INI and XML), registry keys, database migration scripts, etc. The application is in the progress of being migrated from VB6 to .NET . The old installer was build with Installshield. The feedback to Installshield is: Bad adaptability, bad reuse - thats way we are evaluating "Visual Studio Setup" as an alternative. Other products we consider: Free Solutions WiX NSIS Commercial Solutions Installshield (again..) Wise Advanced Installer sth. missing? Solutions we don't like to consider: Inno Setup (It just doesn't feel right)

• Android text layout question: two textviews, side-by-side, with different layout alignments and weights

  I'm still a bit of an Android noob, forgive me if this is simple and I'm just not seeing it. There are two portions of text in a view that spans the entire width horizontally, but is only as high as one line of text. The left side must always be displayed in full, but should take no more horizontal space than it needs. The right side should be pushed over by the left side and fill up the remainder of the screen width. If the right side text is smaller than this width, the text should be right-aligned horizontally. If the text is greater than the width, it should scroll horizontally. The text on the right side will be updated frequently and should slide up with new text when the app tells it (explaining the TextSwitcher in the layout). I have tried two different layout styles. In both situations, I can get the left side to "push" the layout, the right side to scroll, but I can't figure out how to get the right side to right align. It is always left aligned. Here is a picture showing what is happening... http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/5599/androidlayout.png In addition (but less important), in my layout code I have android:fadingEdge="none" on the TextViews, but it still has a faded edge on the left and right side when it scrolls.   I am getting this error from a PostMethod using commons-httpclient No credentials available for DIGEST 'realm'@localhost and a 401 back from the server. I followed the example from this post java client program to send digest authentication request using HttpClient API (2) However, it still seems to fail. I am trying to connect to a XML-RPC service, we use digest authentication. I tried using the Apache xmlrpc library but it seems to not support digest authentication. Any ideas? Thanks.

• Android "Hello, MapView" Tutorial - Map Tiles Do Not Load

  I am new to Android software development and new to this site. I am hoping someone might have some experience with the problem I am having. I've been following the Hello, MapView tutorial in order to not only learn the Android framework, but also the Google Maps library. I've tried my best to implement things exactly as the tutorial has instructed. My problem is that the application does load in my emulator (or even on my phone for that matter), but the map tiles do not load. Searching Google I found a post by someone else on another site having the same issue, but his/her problem was that the important elements added to the AndroidManifest.xml file were not in the right order. I double-checked this in mine, but everything seems to be right. So, I am not sure what the issue is and was hoping others have seen this before. I can provide any snippets of code, if that would help. Thank you.
