• How do i connect with dart community to suggest something

  I am new to this stackoverflow and programming. So HI!!!! What i hope to do is tell something that i think is important to Dart community. If somehow it was possible to code android and or iphone apps using dart that would be very awesome and same for Dart.... There is one path, that is making program in dart compiling it to javascript and then making app using Adobe air..... .But looks inefficient. so is there any other way which i am unaware of, via which i can build an android app at least.. using dart i know you can build an app, using javascript..and css+html...so i am looking for html+css+dart. It'd be cool if adobe air supports dart language directly.

Test input read from a file. Test input read from an environment variable. • How to generate a report of IIS settings for easy perusal?

  Hello, I'm looking for a way to (hopefully) create a text file which lists all the settings in IIS for.. Virtual Directories Web sites Which framework is used on a certain website/directory directory of hosted files etc. Basically I want to do some investigation on some of our servers to figure out where certain projects are located, without digging through right clicking and looking for the directory name manually, etc, for every domain we host. The reasoning is that I often need to find access to files/projects I haven't worked on before, but historically, we don't have a strong naming scheme, so you can't just look where something "logically" would be - so, generating a list would be very helpful. Something like this would be awesome, but I'm looking for any tips at all Domainname1.com framework: ASP.NET 1.1 directory: c:\inetpub\wwwroot\domainname1.com Applications hosted at this domain: etc, etc. Plain text, XLS, XML.. anything other than right clicking through the whole list! • jQuery Tools - Range Input with Mousewheel support

  I've got a nice looking horizontal scroller that uses the Range Input feature of jQ Tools. Mouse wheel scrolling support would be awesome, and I'm sure it can work, just not sure how to get it set up. I've got the generic setup: var scroll = jQuery('#scroll'); jQuery(':range').rangeinput({ speed: 0, progress: true, onSlide: function(ev, step) { scroll.css({left: -step}); }, change: function(e, i) { scroll.animate({left: -i}, "fast"); } }); The doc page ( http://jquerytools.org/documentation/toolbox/mousewheel.html ) for mousewheel gives an example: $("#myelement").mousewheel(function(event, delta) { }); But I'm not sure how this hooks in. Other tools in the package simply allow the option: mousewheel: true Unfortunately that doesn't work on range input. Any advice appreciated. Thank you.

• the problem only happens when i try create a release...

  I'm sorry if im not presenting this right, but i trully cannot understand what the problem is. i have a project to hand in, a code of 600 lines defined within a main, .cpp, and header file. if i compile the project with just a debugger and no release, it's fine. when i create it with the release, the following error occurs, for every function!!! 1st error: |36|multiple definition of `countLines(int&, std::vector const&)'| 2nd error: |36|first defined here| if someone will allow me and i can send them the entire code, that would be awesome - i have to have this done within 3 hours.

• is XULRUNNER suitable as a replacement for other C++ desktop applications frameworks such as QT?

  XulRunner/Gecko seems to be really interesting for developing gui-intensive applications (by using widely used technologies such as HTML / CSS / SVG / XUL / Javascript). But the underlaying C++ APIS (XPCOM, NECKO, ...) looks so old and complex. Moreover the general lack of documentation/developper tools is really frightening. On the other hand, QT have a quite nice platform, and is well documented and supported. The UI part is really "traditional" though. What are your experiences with XULRUNNER, specially compared to other C++ desktop applications frameworks such as QT/GTK/MFC...? What is missing? What is awesome? Side question: If I wanted to migrate an existing MFC app to a cross platform C++ desktop application framework, would it be wise to use XULRUNNER instead of QT or GTK?

  Unlike the other posts about the task "delete all tables", this question is specifically about using SqlCommand to access the database. A coworker is facing the problem that no matter how it attempts it, he can't delete all tables from a database via SqlCommand. He states that he can't perform such action as long as there is an active connection - the connection by the SqlCommand itself. I believe this should be possible and easy, but I don't have much of a clue about databases so I came here to ask. It would be awesome if you could provide a short code example in C# (or any .NET language, for that matter). If you require additional information, just leave a comment.

  Each language I've used has had its pros and cons, but some features have really shone through as being indispensible, shining examples of how to design a programming language to make programmers happy. I use PHP a lot at work, and the one thing I really miss when moving to other languages is PHP's foreach: foreach($items as $item) //iterate through items by value foreach($items as &$item) //iterate through items by reference foreach($items as $i => $item) //by value, with indices foreach($items as $i => &$item) //by reference, with indices In C#, I'm kind of smitten with the built-in multicast delegate system, as well as the way it handles getters and setters.   Hi, I want to generate a pdf report, where a column(or cell/field) is left blank(empty) on purpose. This column actually does have a value but, I'm choosing not to display it. The column title still needs to be displayed. Example of where this could be useful: Blank(empty) column: A comments or notes column down one side of a report. • Does anyone actually use the phrase DHTML anymore?

  I'm not sure if this is exactly appropriate but I have what I think is a interesting question. Does anyone actually use the phrase DHTML anymore in a professional environment? I came across the the word the other day for the first time in years and shuddered at the thought of it. To me the acronym Dynamic HTML just sounds so 1999, it brings me back to the days when I first discovered programming and web development and thought it was awesome to have scripts which modified the status bar and made things fly around the page. I for one have never used the phrase recently and would never dream of saying it in a professional environment to clients or colleges as I feel there is an amateur and dated stigma attached to it. What are your thoughts?

• Ruby on Rails when create method fails, render loses local variables

  Hey guys I have a simple create method with some validations and whenever the create method fails due to validation errors it re-renders the 'new' action. The problem is in my new action/view I have a local variable that is established in the action and passed to a partial to render some related information to what the user is creating. Now when my create action fails and I try to re-render the 'new' action I'm getting the always awesome undefined method `cover' for nil:NilClass error. What is the best way to handle re-establishing my action's local variables on a render instead of redirecting to the action again and the user losing the data they input?

  Hey, I am planning to develop a pretty awesome new web app that has a one time fee including free updates of 1.X updates (X being the update). I don't want to get people to download a new version and install it manually as it can be a real pain for some people, also it's bad if there is an important bug that needs fixing and people don't update. • Static footer, with attached and scaling overlap

  I have been asked by a client to create a site where the content area overlaps the footer. However they also want the footer to be attached to the bottom of the viewport, which I've done, but it seems that I can't find a good way to vertically stretch the content to maintain the overlap should the browser be resized. I've created a diagram to help explain, http://www.squaresphere.co.uk/images/footer-diagram.png So ideally I need a way of calculating the height of the content and stretching the content div if content_length viewport.height, but keep a min-height if content_length < viewport.height A solution using html+css would be fantastic, but I'm starting to think that I'm going to have to do some funky jQuery onviewportresize or something Any suggestions would be awesome, thanks!

• How can I integrate Octopress into my Rails app?

  I'm diving into web development and I built my personal website using Ruby on Rails 3.1 and I'd like to add a blog to it. Octopress sounds really awesome, and it's written in Ruby, but I can't find a single resource online that discusses integrating Octopress into a Rails app. I know that's not what it was designed for, but I'm amazed there's no discussion on it considering the popularity of these two technologies. The only resources I can find are discussions on using Octopress to create a stand-alone blog website. How can I integrate Octopress into my existing Rails 3.1 app? Can I set it up as a stand-alone website and integrate it as a sub-domain? Other suggestions? Thanks so much in advance for your wisdom!

Views id timestamp project_id user_id page_id Comments id timestamp project_id user_id page_id comment Pages id project_id title Now pages are related to projects: Projects id account_id title I am trying to create a summary page that combines views and comments ordered by time (so that the most recent views/comments are at the beginning, grouped by projects. Also, only projects for a specific account. So the result could potentially be: Project 1 View 5 (June 20th) View 4 (June 18th) Comment 5 (June 15th) Comment 4 (June 14th) Comment 3 (June 12th) Project 3 View 3 (June 10th) View 2 (June 8th) Comment 2 (June 7th) Project 2 View 1 (June 5th) Comment 1 (June 4th) If you could help with how to do this using SQL (or even doctrine) that would be awesome. • How do i tint an image with HTML5 Canvas ?

  My question is, what is the best way to tint an image that is drawn using the drawImage method. The target useage for this is advanced 2d particle-effects (game development) where particles change colors over time etc. I am not asking how to tint the whole canvas, only the current image i am about to draw. I have concluded that the globalAlpha parameter affects the current image that is drawn. //works with drawImage() canvas2d.globalAlpha = 0.5; But how do i tint each image with an arbitrary color value ? It would be awesome if there was some kind of globalFillStyle or globalColor or that kind of thing...

• Django: how to create sites dynamically?

  Hi, I need to create an application for the company where I can create sites dynamically. For example, I need an admin interface (Django's admin is enough) where I can setup a new site and add some settings to it. Each site must hold a domain (domains can be manually added to apache conf, but if Django can handle it too would be awesome). Each site must be independent of the others, I mean, I shouldn't be able to see the data content of other sites but I can share same applications/models. I've seen the Django's Sites framework, but I'm not sure if it's possible to implement that way. Should I use Sites framework or create a new app that can handle sites better? What do you think?

• detecting returned errors with $.post

  I'm using $.post to send a query to a JSP which returns some awesome data for me. If the query is malformed, however, the page returns with "error on page" and an HTTP Status of 500 Internal Server Error in jQuery, how can I detect this error so I can tell the user of the failure? runQuery : function () { $.post( admin_stats.runQueryURL, { buster : Math.random, statsQuery: admin_stats.getQuery(), jsp: 'admin_statsQuery' }, admin_stats.handleStatsQuery, "html" ); the returned data is an HTML table which is sufficient for this project at the moment. Also: totally open to criticism if this is ugly or not the way I should be doing things =)

• Rails routing issue

  Hi I've just started learning rails and been going through some tutorials from learning rails (http://www.buildingwebapps.com/podcasts/79335-putting-the-page-contents-into-the) The tutorials appear to be Rails v2 and I'm on Rails v3 There is a line in the routes file which appears to be causing a problem map.view_page ':name', :controller => 'viewer', :action => 'show' The line works for the front end view i.e. my viewer controller but not for the back end I get the error NoMethodError in Viewer#show I think this has something to do with the view I am using and the line <%= @page.body %> I know it's difficult without the full code but if anyone can help that would be awesome
