• Tunnel only one program (UDP & TCP) through another server

  I have a windows machine at home and a server with debian installed. I want to tunnel the UDP traffic from one (any only this) program on my windows machine through my server. For tcp traffic this was easy using putty as a socks5 proxy and then connecting via ssh to my server - but this does not seem to work for UDP. Then I setup dante as a socks5 proxy but it seems to create a new instance/thread per connection which leads to a huge ram usage for my server, so this was no option either. So most people recommend openvpn, so my question: Can I use openvpn to just tunnel this one program through my server? Is there a way to maybe create a local socks5 proxy on my windows machine and set it as a proxy in my program and only this proxy then will use openvpn? Thank you for your ideas

  Hi All, I have a a machine installed with Server 2003 standard on it. It is behind a standard adsl router. I have setup RRAS access on it with under the custom setting and selected just vpn as the machine only has one nic installed. I can connect to the server and it all works fine. I'm just wondering where the settings are to say that it is data encrypted. I know in xp when setting up a vpn you can check the option to encrypt the data, but doing this in server 2003 there isn't the option so thought i would try and use rras. The main reason that i want to do this is that xp only allows one connection at a time. Dan

• Resolve a many-SSL-to-one IP for clients browsers that doesn't support SNI

  Whoa, acronyms :) So according to this question you can have multiple SSL subdomains on one IP address as long as your server supports TLS (which Apache 2.2x does). Another answer to that question points out that the client browser must have SNI support to work, which IE doesn't have on Windows XP. So, what happens to people with that browser is a warning message saying that the SSL cert doesn't match the domain. Can one resolve this issue for those client browsers without SNI support? Does a wildcard (for subdomains) do the trick? Are there other (cheaper) options?

One runs windows 7, one runs windows XP and is for some experimental programming and testing. I don't want to mess up anything, so I am going to disable the windows 7 partition like described on the linked page above from windows XP to protect the operating system. When I do this, is the windows 7 partition only disabled for the running XP os, or is the windows 7 partition rendered unbootable? with best regards

• Merging partitions and removing windows of one partition

  I have two partitions on my laptop, I created a new one when installing windows 8 pro because windows 7 wouldn't upgrade to it for some odd reason. The main partition, which has 631 GB ( has windows 7 installed on it, and the second partition is 49.9 GB and has windows 8 installed on it. What I need to do is remove windows 7 from the other one (Yeah its dual booting), make it so it boots straight into windows 8, without showing the dual boot screen, and also merge the two drives together. Only problem is, I have no idea how to do this. Please don't use complete lamens terms, I am a software developer so I know at least a bit about computers.   The Scenario I've got an iMac G5 20" (First All-In-One White Screen) PPC. It has an Airport Extreme Network card in order to wirelessly to connect to the internet. For the most part I connect using ethernet as opposed to wirelessly, but recently have had the need to connect using the wireless. The Hardware BT Home Broadband Wireless Router. iMac G5 20" From about 5 years ago (First All-In-One White Screen) The Issue Even though I know for a fact that It has connected to the internet wireslessly in the past, for some reason it can discover the wireless router, but upon entering the password it fails to connect. I have tried multiple times to no avail. I have 2 other Mac's on the network and a pc that can all connect wirelessly. However both the mac's. Question Any ideas as to why my really old iMac G5 can't connect wirelessly anymore!?

• Route packets from one VPN to another

  I have two OpenVPN servers (10.8.0.0 and 10.9.0.0) set up on my OpenSUSE server. Within one network, each computer is visible to any other one, but I'd like to make it so that computers are visible across networks. I'd like to route the packets like this: when a user (say 10.8.0.6) pings an address on the other VPN (10.9.0.6), the packets are routed to the 10.9.0.1 and then to the appropriate computer in this VPN. How do I achieve this using iptables or a different tool? I tried the commands at the end of this section with no avail.

  I have 31 documents I need to merge into one, using Word 2007 on Windows 7. I read that you can go to Insert - Object - Text from file and select the documents you need. Ideally, the tool should copy all the folders for a single account (Inbox, Sent, Trash, and user-created folders) at once, rather than one folder at a time. It should preserve message dates. As an option, I'd like to be able to copy just a single IMAP folder. Alternatively, is there a tool to copy an mbox file to an IMAP server? I have direct access to the mbox files in the filesystem, but not to the filesystem of the remote IMAP server. Edit: Is there a way for a user to migrate their own questions to Server Fault?

• Any reason to prefer video adapter with two DVI ports versus one DVI/one VGA for DVI/VGA optional dual monitors?

  I am looking to buy a new video card to power two identical monitors. The monitors came with both DVI and VGA cables, so I am able to use either. My current video card has two DVI ports on the back, so I have both monitors connected via DVI at present. I have noticed that many modern video cards have a DVI/VGA/HDMI port trio and that cards with two DVI ports seem somewhat more scarce. Essentially, I have more options available to me for purchasing cards with a DVI/VGA/HDMI trio than with a DVI/DVI duo. My question is, are there any sound reasons to go to the extra effort of finding a card with two DVI ports versus simply running one of my monitors through a DVI and one through a VGA on a DVI/VGA/HDMI card? Quality differences? Any variety of image asymmetry? Configuration difficulties (I dual boot Windows and Ubuntu)? Anything else?

• Two network cards in one Windows 7 PC

  Hi, I've upgraded from Vista to Windows 7. On Vista I used to run one network card (Intel 82566DC -2 Gigabit) for my internet which was connected to a Dovado USB mobile broadband router connected to a 3G modem. The IP setup on the card is set on DHCP. The second card (3com Ethernet link) was used to connect to our town's local WUG (wireless user group) and all worked fine. Now the problem I have with Windows 7 is that when I connect to the internet with the (Intel) first card, the internet work fine but as soon as I connect the second card to the wug my internet drops. If I then disconnect the first card (internet one) and try to connect to the wug it works. It seems that the two cards are fighting each other. Is there maybe something I can do to fix the problem? As you probably can gather from this post is that I am not an expert on PC's so please if you do answer do I in simple terms. :) Thanks, Martin

  I just setup virtual machines on one hardware with Vagrant (this is just a test environment, not production!). I want to use a Puppet to configure them and next try to setup OpenStack. I am not sure If I am understanding how this should look at the end.   I am trying to monitor the temp sensors on a server, and plot them using Cacti. I have lm-sensors installed and working correctly. • Tomcat and IIS6 on one server, multiple websites

  Windows Server 2003 with IIS6 and Tomcat 6.0.26. Three sites running on this server. One is PHP, one is ASP and the third uses Tomcat. The first two work flawlessly. The third is being a pain. Tomcat is installed and if called on the server itself by IP address xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:8080 shows the welcome page. Calling the same address from an external machine gives a 'could not connect' error. Calling the ip address from within the server on standard port 80 gives me an error 324 (net::ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE). Have tried using httpcfg to force listening only on ports within the ip range I'm using in a manner similar to question 35650 located here on serverfault but with no success. There are actually ten ip addresses on this machine but I'm only using three of them at this point. Any pointers on troubleshooting this would be appreciated!

  I know about bittorrent but have never used it since it tends to be mostly used for illegal download of movies and software. Typically whenever I see a legitimate use for it (Linux distros) there is also a regular download option so I haven't had the need for a client until today. There is a large (500Mb) file I want to download that appears to only be accessible via bit torrent. For a one time use, is there an online resource that converts the torrent to a normal http no-special-client-software download? If not, what is an easy to use and light client to install/uninstall on WinXP for a one time use?

  I would like to run two XAMPP apache servers and mysql on one Windows computer. My first idea was to run one under directory XAMPP, the other under XAMPP_B. Why you ask? I have two applications that have to be in the "root" directory of localhost. Both servers do not have to be active at same time, so I don't think I will have any conflicts I will have to modify my.cnf in mySQL httpd.conf, apache_start and maybe other config files as well. Or maybe someone can suggest a better way...

• Redirect anything within /attachments/ directory up one level but also removing anything after /attachments/

  WordPress creates an attachment page for any images uploaded through the post editor and "attached" to that post. After migrating a site, those attachment pages no longer exist, and we now have around 1000 links pointed at 404's. So, I was looking to find a way to do a redirect for any url that has /attachement/ in it's string and then push that url back up one level (which happens to be the post page). so for instance: http://mysite.com/2012/news/blog-post-title/attachment/image-page/ (which doesnt exist) will go to http://mysite.com/2012/news/blog-post-title/ (which does exist). Along with redirecting up one level, I also need to remove anything after /attachment/ (in this case the "image-page." Any suggestions? Thanks in advance

• nVidia Driver - Laptop is forced as one of my monitors

  I am trying to get my nVidia Driver to correctly configure my multi-monitor setup. I have my laptop in a docking station and two monitors hooked up to it. I had an old driver that this worked correctly with. However, that driver was causing a lot of "Deferred Procedure Calls" so I upgraded to a newer driver. But now I am forced to use my Laptop monitor as one of my monitors. Here is the image in the nVida Control Panel: As you can see, both monitors are recognized, but the only options available are to use one of them with the Laptop Display. Any Ideas? I am running Windows XP (latest updates), I have an nVidia Quadro 1500M. I have tried several different driver versions and all the new ones have this issue.

• Internet connectivity issues with one router but work ok with other router

  I have one Tplink ADSL ROUTER and when i enter username and password on setup page then everything works fine. Now i have one more router Netgear router then when i enter same username and password then interworks ok for some 50% websites but for other 50% websites the page is not loaded and it hangs there. In the sats bar it says website found , waiting for reply and it hnags there and no site is displayed. I wonder which setting is different on these two routers. The Tplink router i have bought is from local shop but netgear router is from different country. Can that make some difference

  Well i have a server with two LAN Card Installed.I have a server in U.S and one in India.I have created a GRE tunnel to route all traffic from U.S Server to my Indian Server.My Traffic has UDP,TCP,HTTP,etc Traffic.Now i have two LAN Card on my Indian Server.Well i have configured two IPs on the system for some of my needs on the system.One is a /30 and another is a /24.Well now i want the /30 IP to talk to my /24 IP.Lets take a e.g the IPs are 180.151.130.34 - /30 and 103.243.19.254 -/24 I want to forward all the TCP,UDP,HTTP,etc like traffic coming to 180.151.130.34 to 103.243.19.254.In the sense i want to make them talk to each other in a way if a TCP/UDP Packet comes to 180.151.130.34 it should be forwarded to 103.243.19.254 and then that packet is sent back by 103.243.19.254 to 180.151.130.34.I am not able to configure this part.Can anyone tell me step by step how to do so? Well i forgot to specify i am using Windows Server 2008. Any help would be greatly appreciated.Thanks in advance.
