  • Java JEditorPane Format

    im trying to implement a Chat feature in my application. i have used 2 JEditorPane. one for holding chat history and the other for sending chat to the previous JEditorPane. the JEditorPane is text/html type. the problem i am having is when i put more than one space between characters it is automatically removed by the parser because it is HTML! how can i make it so, that the spaces are not stripped? example: hello world becomes: hello world. also i am having to parse the html tags so the new messages can be added to the history window. is there a better option than using JEditorPane? if i used JTextPane would it be easier to implement? i would like the chat boxes/panes to be able to handle bold, URL embedding for now. thank you and look forward to your guidance.

For instance: $myFoo = $document->getElementById("foo"); $myFoo->value = "Hello World"; Being converted into the following output: var myFoo = document.getElementById("foo"); myFoo.value = "Hello World"; Of course it would be excellent if more complicated solutions could be derived too, perhaps converting objects and internal methods into javascript-objects, etc.

    Hello, I'd like to use jQuery UI autocomplete in order to load a list from my database but I don't know wich method I should use to do so. I tried to use the "Remote datasource" method [url]http://jqueryui.com/demos/autocomplete/#remote[/url], but it obviously doesn't work.     Hi guys, I've just completed my first app and having tested I'm ready for submission. However, despite numerous web searches and reading, I'm struggling to finalise the method required to enable me to have a different name on the app store to the name that appears under the app on the device home screen. In the plist.info file there is reference to bundle display name, executable name, bundle name, bundle identifier, product name etc. So, for example, say I would like the app store name to display as: HELLO WORLD and I would like the name below the icon on the device home screen to display as: HELLO How should I enter the data in the plist.info file to achieve the above?   • HTML is not being interpreted after JQuery's .ajax function

    Hello there... Once I have retrived an HTML string with the $.ajax function I put it into a div... the HTML is a simple message with a <b> tag, but it's not being interpreted by the browser, I mean, the <b> is not making the text bold. Here is what I do: $.ajax({ url: 'index.php?ajax=ejecutar_configuracion&id_gadget=cubrimientos', cache: false, success: function(html){ // html = '<b>hello</b> newton' $('#config_reporte').html(html).dialog({ height: 300, width: 500, modal: true }); } }); As you can see, I'm writing the content of the HTML result into a modal dialog window. Does anybody know why is this happening? This should be something easy to do... but I haven't been able to make it work properly. Thank you so much.

    Hi, I am trying out Mongrel and using the following code: require 'rubygems' require 'mongrel' class SimpleHandler < Mongrel::HttpHandler def process(request, response) response.start(200) do |head, out| head["Content-Type"] = "text/plain" out.write("Hello World!\n") end end end h = Mongrel::HttpServer.new("0.0.0.0", "3000") h.register("/test", SimpleHandler.new) puts "Press Control-C to exit" h.run.join trap("INT") do puts "Exiting..." end Basically, this just prints out "Hello World!" when I go to localhost:3000/test. It works fine, and I can close the program with Control-C. But when I press Control-C, this gets outputted: my_web_server.rb:17:in `join': Interrupt from my_web_server.rb:17 So I tried putting that trap("INT") statement at the end, but it isn't getting called. Solution? Thanks.

  • Shorten array length once element is remove in Java.

    Note: Following is my homework/assignment, feel free not to answer if you will. I want to delete/remove an element from an String array(Set) basic, I'm not allowed to use Collections..etc. Now I have this: void remove(String newValue) { for ( int i = 0; i < setElements.length; i++) { if ( setElements[i] == newValue ) { setElements[i] = ""; } } } I does what I want as it remove the element from an array but it doesn't shorten the length. The following is the output, basically it remove the element indexed #1.     Hey all, I'm wondering if anyone has a recursive solution to converting an array to a string. Here's what I mean: An array $args that has the following contents: Array ( [0] => $hello [1] => 411px [Jeeves] => Array ( [compiling] => 1 ) ) Result after calling arr_to_string($args): array($hello,"411px", "Jeeves" => array("compiling" => 1)); Note: It recognizes the $ sign in front and therefore does not add quotes. It does the same for numbers. Anyone have any solution or can point me in the right direction? Thanks! Matt Mueller

    Hi there, I started two days ago with android, gone through the hello android stuff and also started to read the Hello Android book, which is great. PROBLEM: I use in my app - VERY EASY APP- the XML output. So basically the main activity just tells the android to show the XML layout of main. But what if I have in the activity - code defined integer variable and I want this integer variable also be shown on the display? How do I PUSH the integer variable to the XML??? From main XML reference to other strings in XML is easy - @string/app_name ... but how do I use the integer variable from the activity? Please help Thank you Oliver

    I have a recursive method that reversed a string (HW assignment, has to be recursive). I did it....but its only returning the value of the string after the first pass.     [Disclaimer: This has been cross posted on the Android Developers Google Group I am trying to use a CompoundButton in a project I am working on. Every time I try and use it by declaring it in my layout xml file I receive the error "01-04 12:27:46.471: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(1771): Caused by: android.view.InflateException: Binary XML file line #605: Error inflating class android.widget.CompoundButton" After fighting the error for a half an hour I decided to try a minimalistic example. I am using the latest eclipse developer tools, and targeting android 2.2 makign the minimum sdk required 2.2 (8).     Hi, since two evenings i am trying to integrate weld CDI into an EJB 3.1 Application with JSF 1.2. I simply tried to call a with @Named annotated controller in an JSF page. The problem is, that no exception is thrown, when i deploy the project and also no exception is thrown when i call the page.   • Groovy MarkupBuilder causing java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError on closure in soapUI

    I am not able to get the Groovy MarkupBuilder to work with soapUI. I am very new to Groovy and I am just following one of the user guides on creating XML. Testing a very simple method: public String Example(){ def writer = new StringWriter() def root = new MarkupBuilder(writer) root.mkp.xmlDeclaration(version:"1.0", encoding:"UTF-8") root.Root{ Example("A") } return writer.toString() } I get the following error in soapUI: ava.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: MockXML$_Example_closure2 I have no error when I run from Groovy Console. In the same class I have: public String Hello(){ return "Hello" } Which works fine in soapUI. Is there something I would need setup/imported/configured in soapUI that I am not thinking about to handle MarkupBuilder/closures? Thanks

    So any custom data attribute that I use should start with "data-": <li class="user" data-name="John Resig" data-city="Boston" data-lang="js" data-food="Bacon"> <b>John says:</b> <span>Hello, how are you?</span> </li> Will anything bad happen if I just ignore this? I.e.: <li class="user" name="John Resig" city="Boston" lang="js" food="Bacon"> <b>John says:</b> <span>Hello, how are you?</span> </li> I guess one bad thing is that my custom attributes could conflict with HTML attributes with special meanings (e.g., name), but aside from this, is there a problem with just writing "example_text" instead of "data-example_text"? (It won't validate, but who cares?)
