  • Why does Hibernate 2nd level cache only cache queries within a session?

    - by Synesso
Using a named query in our application and with ehcache as the provider, it seems that the query results are tied to the session within the cache. Any attempt to access the value from the cache for a second time results in a LazyInitializationException We have set lazy = true for the following mapping because this object is also used by another part of the system which does not require the reference... and we want to keep it lean. <class name="domain.ReferenceAdPoint" table="ad_point" mutable="false" lazy="false"> <cache usage="read-only"/> <id name="code" type="long" column="ad_point_id"> <generator class="assigned" /> </id> <property name="name" column="ad_point_description" type="string"/> <set name="synonyms" table="ad_point_synonym" cascade="all-delete-orphan" lazy="true"> <cache usage="read-only"/> <key column="ad_point_id" /> <element type="string" column="synonym_description" /> </set> </class> <query name="find.adpoints.by.heading">from ReferenceAdPoint adpoint left outer join fetch adpoint.synonyms where adpoint.adPointField.headingCode = ?</query> Here's a snippet from our hibernate.cfg.xml <property name="hibernate.cache.provider_class">net.sf.ehcache.hibernate.SingletonEhCacheProvider</property> <property name="hibernate.cache.use_query_cache">true</property> It doesn't seem to make sense that the cache would be constrained to the session. Why are the cached queries not usable outside of the (relatively short-lived) sessions?

  • Why is Grails Searchable Plugin causing errors on Hibernate AutoFlush?

    - by Mark Rogers
In the Grails 1.2.5 project that I am trying to troubleshoot, we use the Grails Searchable plugin .5.5.1. The problem is that whenever we attempt to index large sets domain classes, Grails keeps throwing: ERROR hibernate.AssertionFailure - an assertion failure occured (this may indicate a bug in Hibernate, but is more likely due to unsafe use of the session) org.hibernate.AssertionFailure: collection [domain-class] was not processed by flush() But the domain classes involved have been mapped and used by hibernate without issues outside of the calls to searchable plugin. The use of the searchable plugin goes as follows: Create a compass session with compass.openSession() Begin compass transaction: compassSession.beginTransaction() Then compassSession.create(result.get(0)) is called on an important unindexed domain class Finally compassTransaction.commit() is called to commit the transaction. Goto 2 and process next domain class Between the 3 and 4th Domain class, an autoflush is triggered that throws the error. Can anyone give me any hints about how to solve this problem? Has anyone encountered this problem before? I know that they had a systemic issue with this back in pre .5 versions of the searchable-plugin. Is it possible those issues weren't totally fixed?

  • How do I configure the hbm2java maven2 plugin to generate POJOs for all mapping files

    - by naor
    Hi. I am trying to migrate my ant build to maven2. in my build.xml I invoke the hbm2java in the following way: <hibernatetool destdir="/src/generated/"> <configuration configurationfile="${env.ITP_HOME}/core/xml/hibernate/hibernate.cfg.xml"> <fileset dir="/xml/hibernate"> <include name="*.hbm.xml"/> </fileset> </configuration> <hbm2java/> </hibernatetool> my hibernate.cfg.xml is: <hibernate-configuration> <session-factory> <property name="hibernate.dialect">org.hibernate.dialect.Oracle10gDialect</property> <property name="hibernate.connection.driver_class">oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver</property> </session-factory> in my maven2 POM file I have: <plugin> <groupId>org.codehaus.mojo</groupId> <artifactId>hibernate3-maven-plugin</artifactId> <version>2.2</version> <executions> <execution> <id>hbm2java</id> <phase>generate-sources</phase> <goals> <goal>hbm2java</goal> </goals> <configuration> <components> <component> <name>hbm2java</name> <implementation>configuration</implementation> <outputDirectory>/src/main/java</outputDirectory> </component> </components> <componentProperties> <jdk5>true</jdk5> <configurationfile>/src/main/resources/hibernate.cfg.xml</configurationfile> </componentProperties> </configuration> </execution> but when executing mvn hibernate3:hbm2java i see no files get generated unless they are all listed in hibernate.cfg.xml. Is there a way to specify a fileset in the maven configuration similar to the ant task? thanks, naor

  • How do I disable the sleep button on my keyboard?

    - by KillianDS
I have a "power button" on my keyboard that enables standby or hibernate. I can't find the mapping of this key anywhere in "sytem settingsKeyboard", "systempower management", "compiz config or similar (where I could find it before unity). How can I disable (not remap) this button? I do not want to disable hibernate/sleep altogether, it's simply this key that gets pressed a lot by accident and it's getting quite annoying.

  • Why has hibernation stopped working after moving my 12.04 install to a different laptop?

    - by megabytephreak
I recently got a new laptop (Thinkpad X230). I didn't really have time to do a fresh install so I copied my install (xubuntu 12.04) over from my old machine (Thinkpad X61). Now when I try to hibernate it seems to do the Hibernate step fine, but doesn't seem to try and resume when booting back up. It just does a fresh boot. Is there something I need to do so the system knows where to look for the hibernation data?

  • Dual HDD dual boot Win7/Win7 hibernate corrupts partitions?

    - by Ivan Zlatev
I have two SSDs in my laptop. Both have 2 partitions each one with Windows 7 64bit and another one with OEM stuff on it (SYSTEM_DRV). I use the BIOS boot menu to boot between the drives. I have removed the drive letters so that no partitions of drive 1 are mapped in windows 2 on drive 2 and wise-versa. What I have observered however is that when I hibernate windows 1, boot windows 2 do some work and shutdown then resume windows 1 - the windows 2 partition will get corrupt quite often. Just happened actually - it is shown as "RAW" in the Disk manager instead of NTFS and windows will blue screen at boot. Alternatively I've seen cases where chkdsk will run and will wipe out all security descriptors making the partition completly unbootable. Why am I seeing these corruptions and what can I do to prevent them?

  • Why does my Windows computer immediately turn back on after sleep/hibernate?

    - by nbolton
After clicking sleep or hibernate in Windows 7, my computer loads for a while and then goes into sleep mode, but not 1 second later it powers back up. The event log has no errors and no warnings appear when it comes back out of sleep/hibernation. Here's my system specifications: Asus P5KPL-VM Windows 7 I believe this is all that's relevant. I've installed the latest chipset drivers, but I'm unable to update my BIOS (but this is another matter; maybe because the motherboard in the V3-P5G31 bundle is different). I've also tried turning off the "Allow this device to wake up my computer" for the network card, keyboard, and mouse -- but this makes no difference. If flashing the BIOS is the only thing that will fix this, then I will create a new question to this effect. Maybe I should change the suspend mode from S3 to S1?

  • Mapping a Vertex Buffer in DirectX11

    - by judeclarke
    I have a VertexBuffer that I am remapping on a per frame base for a bunch of quads that are constantly updated, sharing the same material\index buffer but have different width/heights. However, currently right now there is a really bad flicker on this geometry. Although it is flickering, the flicker looks correct. I know it is the vertex buffer mapping because if I recreate the entire VB then it will render fine. However, as an optimization I figured I would just remap it. Does anyone know what the problem is? The length (width, size) of the vertex buffer is always the same. One might think it is double buffering, however, it would not be double buffering because it only happens when I map/unmap the buffer, so that leads me to believe that I am setting some parameters wrong on the creation or mapping. I am using DirectX11, my initialization and remap code are: Initialization code D3D11_BUFFER_DESC bd; ZeroMemory( &bd, sizeof(bd) ); bd.Usage = D3D11_USAGE_DYNAMIC; bd.ByteWidth = vertCount * vertexTypeWidth; bd.BindFlags = D3D11_BIND_VERTEX_BUFFER; //bd.CPUAccessFlags = 0; bd.CPUAccessFlags = D3D11_CPU_ACCESS_WRITE; D3D11_SUBRESOURCE_DATA InitData; ZeroMemory( &InitData, sizeof(InitData) ); InitData.pSysMem = vertices; mVertexType = vertexType; HRESULT hResult = device->CreateBuffer( &bd, &InitData, &m_pVertexBuffer ); // This will be S_OK if(hResult != S_OK) return false; Remap code D3D11_MAPPED_SUBRESOURCE resource; HRESULT hResult = deviceContext->Map(m_pVertexBuffer, 0, D3D11_MAP_WRITE_DISCARD, 0, &resource); // This will be S_OK if(hResult != S_OK) return false; resource.pData = vertices; deviceContext->Unmap(m_pVertexBuffer, 0);

  • BizTalk: mapping with Xslt

    - by Leonid Ganeline
BizTalk Map Editor (Mapper) is a good editor, especially in the last 2010 version of the BizTalk. But still sometimes it cannot do the tasks easily. It is time for the Xslt code, It is time to remember that the maps are executed by the Xslt engine.  Right-click the Mapper Grid (a field between the source and target schemas) and choose Properties /Custom XSLT Path.  Input here a name of the file with Xslt code. Only this code will be executed, forget the picture in the Mapper, all those links and functoids.  Let’s see the real-life example. There are two source Addresses. One is on the top level and the second is inside the Member_Address record with MaxOccurs=* . The target address is placed inside the Locator record with MaxOccurs=*. The requirement is to map all source address to the one target address structure. The source Xml document looks like: The result Xml should be like this: Try to do this mapping with the Mapper and you will spent good amount of time and the result map would be tricky. If we use the Xslt code, the mapping will be simple and unambiguous, like this: Simple, elegant.

  • Windows Physical Direct Memory Mapping

    - by chrisjleaf
I'm a bit disappointed there is almost no discussion of this no matter where I look so I guess I'll have to ask. I'm writing a cross platform memory bench marking application which requires direct physical address mapping rather than virtual addressing. EDIT The solution would look something like the Linux/Unix system calls: int fd = open("/dev/mem", O_RDONLY); mmap(NULL, len, PROT_READ, MAP_SHARED, fd, PHYSICAL_ADDRESS_OFFSET); which will require the kernel to either give you a virtual page mapping to the desired physical address or return that it failed. This does require supervisor privileges but that is ok. I have seen a lot of information about shared memory and memory mapped files but all of these reside on disc and are thus not really useful when I'm trying to make a system dependent read. It is very similar to writing an IO driver although I do no need write permissions to the physical address. This site gives an example of how to do it on a driver level using the Windows Driver Kit: NT Insider: Sharing Memory between drivers and applications This solution would probably require Visual Studio which currently I do not have access to. (I have downloaded the WDK api but it complained about my use of GCC for Windows). I'm traditionally a Linux programmer so I'm hoping there might be something really simple I'm missing. Thanks in advance if you know something I don't!

  • How can I eager-load a child collection mapped to a non-primary key in NHibernate 2.1.2?

    - by David Rubin
    Hi, I have two objects with a many-to-many relationship between them, as follows: public class LeftHandSide { public LeftHandSide() { Name = String.Empty; Rights = new HashSet<RightHandSide>(); } public int Id { get; set; } public string Name { get; set; } public ICollection<RightHandSide> Rights { get; set; } } public class RightHandSide { public RightHandSide() { OtherProp = String.Empty; Lefts = new HashSet<LeftHandSide>(); } public int Id { get; set; } public string OtherProp { get; set; } public ICollection<LeftHandSide> Lefts { get; set; } } and I'm using a legacy database, so my mappings look like: Notice that LeftHandSide and RightHandSide are associated by a different column than RightHandSide's primary key. <class name="LeftHandSide" table="[dbo].[lefts]" lazy="false"> <id name="Id" column="ID" unsaved-value="0"> <generator class="identity" /> </id> <property name="Name" not-null="true" /> <set name="Rights" table="[dbo].[lefts2rights]"> <key column="leftId" /> <!-- THIS IS THE IMPORTANT BIT: I MUST USE PROPERTY-REF --> <many-to-many class="RightHandSide" column="rightProp" property-ref="OtherProp" /> </set> </class> <class name="RightHandSide" table="[dbo].[rights]" lazy="false"> <id name="Id" column="id" unsaved-value="0"> <generator class="identity" /> </id> <property name="OtherProp" column="otherProp" /> <set name="Lefts" table="[dbo].[lefts2rights]"> <!-- THIS IS THE IMPORTANT BIT: I MUST USE PROPERTY-REF --> <key column="rightProp" property-ref="OtherProp" /> <many-to-many class="LeftHandSide" column="leftId" /> </set> </class> The problem comes when I go to do a query: LeftHandSide lhs = _session.CreateCriteria<LeftHandSide>() .Add(Expression.IdEq(13)) .UniqueResult<LeftHandSide>(); works just fine. But LeftHandSide lhs = _session.CreateCriteria<LeftHandSide>() .Add(Expression.IdEq(13)) .SetFetchMode("Rights", FetchMode.Join) .UniqueResult<LeftHandSide>(); throws an exception (see below). Interestingly, RightHandSide rhs = _session.CreateCriteria<RightHandSide>() .Add(Expression.IdEq(127)) .SetFetchMode("Lefts", FetchMode.Join) .UniqueResult<RightHandSide>(); seems to be perfectly fine as well.   • relational data from xml

    - by Beta033
Our problem is this, we have a relational database to store objects in tables. As any relational database could, several of these tables have multiple foreign keys pointing to other tables (all pretty normal stuff) We've been trying to identify a solution to allow export of this relational data, ideally, only 1 of the objects in the model, to some sort of file (xml, text, ??). So it wouldn't be simple enough to just export 1 table as data stored in other tables would contribute to the complete model of the object. Something like the following picture: Toward this, i've written a routine to export the structure by following the foreign key paths which exports something similar to the following. <Tables> <TableA PK="1", val1, val2, val3> <TableC PK="1", FK_A="1", Val1, val2, val3> <TableC PK="2", FK_A="1", val1, val2, val3> <TableB PK="1", FK_A="1", FK_C="1", val1, val2, val3> <TableB PK="2", FK_A="1", FK_C="2", val1, val2, val3> <TableD PK="1", FK_B="1", FK_C="1", val1> <TableD PK="2", FK_B="2", FK_C="1", val1> </Tables> However, given this structure, it cannot be placed into a heirarchial format (ie D2 is a child of C1 and B2; and B2 is a child of C2) Which in turn, makes my life very difficult when trying to identify a methodology to reimport (and reKey) these objects. Has anybody done anything like this? how do you do it? are there tools or documentation on how this is best accomplished? Thanks for your help.

  • How to configure MySQL connection properties with Spring, Hibernate 3.3 and c3p0?

    - by sfussenegger
I am currently in the process of upgrading an application from Hibernate 3.2 to Hibernate 3.3. I though I'd stick with the default connection pool (Hibernate changed its default from Commons DBCP to c3p0) as I don't have any good reason to choose a non-default pool. At least non but having used DBCP before. The upgrade went pretty much without any problems so far. The only thing I can't get to work is passing properties to the underlying MySQL JDBC4Connection. Up to now, I used DBCP's BasicDataSource.addConnectionProperty(String,String) to pass properties (useUnicode=true, characterEncodin=UTF-8, characterSetResults=UTF-8, zeroDateTimeBehavior=convertToNull). However, I can't find any way to do the same with c3p0 other than including them in the JDBC URL. (That's something I'd like to avoid as I wanna keep the URL configurable without forcing users to include those parameters.) So far, I've tried to use a ConnectionCustomizer without success. Any other suggestions?

  • Is it possible to mix orm.xml definitions with annotations when using JPA/hibernate ?

    - by hatchetman82
I'm working on an application whihc supports using several DB vendors, with the table definitions being different for each DB type. The trouble is that the column definitions are not what hibernate expects, and so my entities contain a lot of @Column(..columnDefintion="..."...) annotations. To further complicate the issue, there's no way to specify a columnDefinition per DB. So I tried moving just the columnDefinition bits to an orm.xml file, and I have a Maven profile that bundles the correct file. JBoss 4.0.5/Hibernate 3.2.0GA fails to validate, and it seems it completely disregards the annotations given an xml file. Is there a way to make Hibernate "merge" the data from the xml with the annotations ?

  • Inconsistent Loading Times for GeoRSS Overlay Between Firefox and IE

    - by Mark Fruhling
I have a very simple page built to display a map and overlay a line based on points in a GeoRSS XML file. Here is the publicly accessible file. http://68.178.230.189/georssimport.html Firefox is loading in about 5 secs, which is expected because there are a lot of points to map, but IE (6 & 7) is taking upwards of 45 secs to a minute. What can I do to diagnose what is going on? What is a tool that will show me what is going on? (i.e. Firebug for IE) Thanks, Mark

  • How to perform a non-polymorphic HQL query in Hibernate?

    - by Eli Acherkan
Hi all, I'm using Hibernate 3.1.1, and in particular, I'm using HQL queries. According to the documentation, Hibernate's queries are polymorphic: A query like: from Cat as cat returns instances not only of Cat, but also of subclasses like DomesticCat. How can I query for instances of Cat, but not of any of its subclasses? I'd like to be able to do it without having to explicitly mention each subclass. I'm aware of the following options, and don't find them satisfactory: Manually filtering the instances after the query, OR: Manually adding a WHERE clause on the discriminator column. It would make sense for Hibernate to allow the user to decide whether a query should be polymorphic or not, but I can't find such an option. Thanks in advance!

  • Why can't I retrieve the entities I've just persisted?

    - by felipecao
I've got this web service that basically queries the database and returns all persisted entities. For testing purposes, I've created a TestDataManager that persists 2 example entities after Spring context is loaded (BTW, I'm using JAX-WS, Spring, Hibernate and HSQLDB). My TestDataManager looks like this: @Component public class TestDataManager { @Resource private SessionFactory sf; @PostConstruct @Transactional(readOnly = false, propagation = Propagation.REQUIRES_NEW) public void insertTestData(){ sf.openSession(); sf.openSession().beginTransaction(); sf.openSession().persist(new Site("site one")); sf.openSession().persist(new Site("site two")); sf.openSession().flush(); } } My JAX-WS endpoint looks like this: @WebService public class SmartBrickEndpoint { @Resource private WebServiceContext context; public Set<Site> getSitesForUser(String user){ return getSiteService().findByUser(new User(user)); } private ISiteService getSiteService(){ ServletContext servletContext = (ServletContext) context.getMessageContext().get("javax.xml.ws.servlet.context"); return (ISiteService) BeanRetriever.getBean(servletContext, ISiteService.class); } } This my Service class: @Component @Transactional(readOnly = true) public class SiteService implements ISiteService { @Resource private ISiteDao siteDao; @Override public Set<Site> findByUser(User user) { return siteDao.findByUser(user); } } This is my DAO: @Component @Transactional(readOnly = true) public class SiteDao implements ISiteDao { @Resource private SessionFactory sessionFactory; @Override public Set<Site> findByUser(User user) { Set<Site> sites = new LinkedHashSet<Site>(sessionFactory.getCurrentSession().createCriteria(Site.class).list()); return sites; } } This is my applicationContext.xml: <context:annotation-config /> <context:component-scan base-package="br.unirio.wsimxp.dao"/> <context:component-scan base-package="br.unirio.wsimxp.service"/> <context:component-scan base-package="br.unirio.wsimxp.spring"/> <bean id="applicationDS" class="org.springframework.jdbc.datasource.DriverManagerDataSource"> <property name="driverClassName" value="org.hsqldb.jdbcDriver"/> <property name="url" value="jdbc:hsqldb:file:sites"/> </bean> <bean id="sessionFactory" class="org.springframework.orm.hibernate3.annotation.AnnotationSessionFactoryBean"> <property name="dataSource" ref="applicationDS" /> <property name="configLocation"> <value>classpath:hibernate.cfg.xml</value> </property> <property name="hibernateProperties"> <props> <prop key="hibernate.dialect">org.hibernate.dialect.HSQLDialect</prop> <prop key="hibernate.show_sql">true</prop> <prop key="hibernate.format_sql">true</prop> <prop key="hibernate.connection.release_mode">on_close</prop> <!--<prop key="hibernate.current_session_context_class">thread</prop>--> <prop key="hibernate.query.factory_class">org.hibernate.hql.classic.ClassicQueryTranslatorFactory</prop> <prop key="hibernate.hbm2ddl.auto">create-drop</prop> </props> </property> </bean> <bean id="transactionManager" class="org.springframework.orm.hibernate3.HibernateTransactionManager"> <property name="sessionFactory" ref="sessionFactory" /> </bean> <tx:annotation-driven transaction-manager="transactionManager" /> This is what's going on now: when the app is deployed, TestDataManager#insertTestData kicks-in (due to @PostConstruct) and persist does not raise any exception. I should have 2 entities in the DB by now. Afterwards, I invoke the endpoint by a SOAP client, and the request goes all the way up to the DAO. The Hibernate invocation does not raise any exception, but the returned list is empty. The odd thing is, in TestDataManager, if I switch from sf.openSession() to sf.getCurrentSession(), I get an error message: "No Hibernate Session bound to thread, and configuration does not allow creation of non-transactional one here". What I am doing wrong here? Why is the query "not seeing" the persisted entities? Why do I need to invoke sf.openSession() on TestDataManager although it's annotated with @Transactional? I have done some tests with hibernate.current_session_context_class=thread in application.xml, but then I just switch problems in each class. I'd like not needing to manually invoke sf.openSession() and leave that for Hibernate to take care. Thanks a lot for any help!

  • How does Hibernate detect dirty state of an entity object?

    - by ???'Lenik
Is it using some kind of byte codes modification to the original classes? Or, maybe Hibernate get the dirty state by compare the given object with previously persisted version? I'm having a problem with hashCode() and equals() methods for complicated objects. I feel it would be very slow to compute hash code if the object has collection members, and cyclic references are also a problem. If Hibernate won't use hashCode()/equals() to check the dirty state, I guess I should not use equals()/hashCode() for the entity object (not value object), but I'm also afraid if the same operator (==) is not enough. So, the questions are: How does Hibernate know if a property of an object is changed? Do you suggest to override the hashCode()/equals() methods for complicated objects? What if they contains cyclic references? And, also, Would hashCode()/equals() with only the id field be enough?

I'm using Hibernate 3.2.1.ga, hibernate annotations 3.2.1.ga, and hibernate-jpa-2.0-api. I can't upgrade at this time as I'm working with legacy code. I have this generic method for saving or updating objects ... protected void saveOrUpdate(Object obj) { final Session session = sessionFactory.getCurrentSession(); session.saveOrUpdate(obj); } You can assume that every argument, "obj," will have a member field that is marked with the "@Id" annotation. I would like to change the return type to return an Object that represents the persisted object in the database (meaning if "obj" didn't contain an id before, what is returned is the database object with a populated id. What is the fastest way to do this given my versioning and generic constraints?

  • How can creating the SessionFactory become slow after updating Hibernate?

    - by DR
In my Java SE application I used Hibernate 3.4 and creating the SessionFactory took about 5 seconds. Today I updated to Hibernate 3.5.1 and suddenly it takes over a minute. What can be the cause of such a dramatic effect? I tried different things the better part of the day and I have no clue... Some data I collected According to the profiler the most time is spent in PersisterFactory.createClassPersister and in that method ProxyFactory.createClass takes the most time. The log shows nothing unusual Changing hibernate.bytecode.use_reflection_optimizer makes no difference

  • How do I map to a parent or child in the same table with NHibernate?

    - by adolfojp
Lets suppose that I have a Category table with a column that holds the id of a parent or child category from the same table. This design would allow me to have unlimited levels of Categories, or unlimited levels in a thread, for example. How can I map this relationship with NHibernate? Are there any disadvantages or warnings that I should take into consideration when doing this?

  • Is it possible to select data with max value for a column using Criteria in Hibernate?

    - by Palo
Lets say I have the following mapping: <hibernate-mapping package="mypackage"> <class name="User" table="user"> <id name="id" column="id"> <generator class="native"></generator> </id> <property name="name" /> <property name="age" /> </class> </hibernate-mapping> Is it possible to select the oldest user (that is age is maximal) using Criteria in Hibernate? I can imagine that i could do this with 2 selects. (first select total number of users and then order the entries descending by age and select the first entry). But is it possible with a single select? Thank you Palo

  • Why so Long time span in creating Session Factory?

    Hi My project is web application running in the tomcat container. This application is a spring framework based hibernate application. The problem with this is it takes a lot of time when creates session factory. here is the logs 2010-04-15 23:05:28,053 DEBUG [SessionFactoryImpl] Session factory constructed with filter configurations : {} 2010-04-15 23:05:28,053 DEBUG [SessionFactoryImpl] instantiating session factory with properties: {java.vendor=Sun Microsystems Inc., sun.java.launcher=SUN_STANDARD, catalina.base=/usr/local/InstalledPrograms/apache-tomcat-6.0.20, sun.management.compiler=HotSpot Tiered Compilers, catalina.useNaming=true, os.name=Linux, sun.boot.class.path=/usr/java/jdk1.6.0_17/jre/lib/resources.jar:/usr/java/jdk1.6.0_17/jre/lib/rt.jar:/usr/java/jdk1.6.0_17/jre/lib/sunrsasign.jar:/usr/java/jdk1.6.0_17/jre/lib/jsse.jar:/usr/java/jdk1.6.0_17/jre/lib/jce.jar:/usr/java/jdk1.6.0_17/jre/lib/charsets.jar:/usr/java/jdk1.6.0_17/jre/classes, java.util.logging.config.file=/usr/local/InstalledPrograms/apache-tomcat-6.0.20/conf/logging.properties, java.vm.specification.vendor=Sun Microsystems Inc., hibernate.generate_statistics=true, java.runtime.version=1.6.0_17-b04, hibernate.cache.provider_class=org.hibernate.cache.EhCacheProvider, user.name=root, shared.loader=, tomcat.util.buf.StringCache.byte.enabled=true, hibernate.connection.release_mode=auto, user.language=en, java.naming.factory.initial=org.apache.naming.java.javaURLContextFactory, sun.boot.library.path=/usr/java/jdk1.6.0_17/jre/lib/i386, java.version=1.6.0_17, java.util.logging.manager=org.apache.juli.ClassLoaderLogManager, user.timezone=Canada/Pacific, sun.arch.data.model=32, java.endorsed.dirs=/usr/local/InstalledPrograms/apache-tomcat-6.0.20/endorsed, sun.cpu.isalist=, sun.jnu.encoding=UTF-8, file.encoding.pkg=sun.io, package.access=sun.,org.apache.catalina.,org.apache.coyote.,org.apache.tomcat.,org.apache.jasper.,sun.beans., file.separator=/, java.specification.name=Java Platform API Specification, java.class.version=50.0, user.country=US, java.home=/usr/java/jdk1.6.0_17/jre, java.vm.info=mixed mode, os.version=2.6.18-128.el5, path.separator=:, java.vm.version=14.3-b01, hibernate.jdbc.batch_size=25, java.awt.printerjob=sun.print.PSPrinterJob, sun.io.unicode.encoding=UnicodeLittle, package.definition=sun.,java.,org.apache.catalina.,org.apache.coyote.,org.apache.tomcat.,org.apache.jasper., java.naming.factory.url.pkgs=org.apache.naming, sun.rmi.dgc.client.gcInterval=3600000, user.home=/root, java.specification.vendor=Sun Microsystems Inc., java.library.path=/usr/java/jdk1.6.0_17/jre/lib/i386/server:/usr/java/jdk1.6.0_17/jre/lib/i386:/usr/java/jdk1.6.0_17/jre/../lib/i386:/usr/java/packages/lib/i386:/lib:/usr/lib, java.vendor.url=http://java.sun.com/, java.vm.vendor=Sun Microsystems Inc., hibernate.dialect=org.hibernate.dialect.MySQL5InnoDBDialect, sun.rmi.dgc.server.gcInterval=3600000, common.loader=${catalina.home}/lib,${catalina.home}/lib/*.jar, java.runtime.name=Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment, java.class.path=:/usr/local/InstalledPrograms/apache-tomcat-6.0.20/bin/bootstrap.jar, hibernate.bytecode.use_reflection_optimizer=false, java.vm.specification.name=Java Virtual Machine Specification, java.vm.specification.version=1.0, catalina.home=/usr/local/InstalledPrograms/apache-tomcat-6.0.20, sun.cpu.endian=little, sun.os.patch.level=unknown, hibernate.cache.use_query_cache=true, hibernate.connection.provider_class=org.springframework.orm.hibernate3.LocalDataSourceConnectionProvider, java.io.tmpdir=/usr/local/InstalledPrograms/apache-tomcat-6.0.20/temp, java.vendor.url.bug=http://java.sun.com/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi, server.loader=, os.arch=i386, java.awt.graphicsenv=sun.awt.X11GraphicsEnvironment, java.ext.dirs=/usr/java/jdk1.6.0_17/jre/lib/ext:/usr/java/packages/lib/ext, user.dir=/, line.separator=, java.vm.name=Java HotSpot(TM) Server VM, hibernate.cache.use_second_level_cache=true, file.encoding=UTF-8, java.specification.version=1.6, hibernate.show_sql=true} 2010-04-15 23:08:53,516 DEBUG [AbstractEntityPersister] Static SQL for entity: com.vsd.model.Order There you can see the time delay of more than 3 mins in executing these processes. • Does overloading Grails static 'mapping' property to bolt on database objects violate DRY?

    - by mikesalera
Does Grails static 'mapping' property in Domain classes violate DRY? Let's take a look at the canonical domain class: class Book {      Long id      String title      String isbn      Date published      Author author      static mapping = {             id generator:'hilo', params:[table:'hi_value',column:'next_value',max_lo:100]      } } or: class Book { ...         static mapping = {             id( generator:'sequence', params:[sequence_name: "book_seq"] )     } } And let us say, continuing this thought, that I have my Grails application working with HSQLDB or MySQL, but the IT department says I must use a commercial software package (written by a large corp in Redwood Shores, Calif.). Does this change make my web application nobbled in development and test environments? MySQL supports autoincrement on a primary key column but does support sequence objects, for example. Is there a cleaner way to implement this sort of 'only when in production mode' without loading up the domain class?
