• Rational Application Developer (RAD) 7.5+ and websphere runtime will not pick up jars from projects

  With RAD Version: 7.5.3, Java 1.5. I have a couple of different projects. I needed to break out the java code and turn the *.class files into a jar. So basically, same *.class files I just removed the code and then jarred the class files into a jar. I broke the classes into a jar and then included the jar in the project. And I also did an order/export on the jar so that other projects can see the jar. At this point, ideally my project should not have changed because I am using class files in a jar instead of the java code. When I visit my web application in websphere, I get class not found errors on the classes that are now in the jar. Project Structure: A. Project earApp -- will need the webapp B. Project webapp -- will need the project (no jar files or *.java files are found in this project) C. Project javasrc -- the java source and the NEW JAR file are found here. I don't think websphere is acknowledging the jar. • spring web application context is not loaded from jar file in WEB-INF/lib when running tomcat in eclipse

  I am experimenting with spring, maven, and eclipse but stumbling on a weird issue. I am running Eclipse Helios SR1 with the STS (Spring tools suite) plugin which includes the Maven plugin also. What i want to achieve is a spring mvc webapp which uses an application context loaded from a local application context xml file, but also from other application contexts in jar files dependencies included in WEB-INF/lib. What i'd ultimately like to do is have my persistence layer separated in its own jar file but containing its own spring context files with persistence specific configuration (e.g a jpa entityManagerFactory for example). So to experiment with loading resources from jar dependencies, i created a simple maven project from eclipse, which defines an applicationContext.xml file in src/main/resources Inside, i define a bean <bean id="mybean" class="org.test.MyClass" /> and create the class in the org.test package I run mvn-install from eclipse, which generates me a jar file containing my class and the applicationContext.xml file: testproj.jar |_META-INF |_org |_test |_MyClass.class |_applicationContext.xml I then create a spring mvc project from the Spring template projects provided by STS. I have configured an instance of Tomcat 7.0.8 , and also an instance of springSource tc Server within eclipse. Deploying the newly created project on both servers works without problem. I then add my previous project as a maven dependency of the mvc project. the jar file is correctly added in the Maven Dependencies of the project. In the web.xml that is generated, i now want to load the applicationContext.xml from the jar file as well as the existing one generated for the project. A workaround is to open the java control center and enable logging. This is a concern since by default "Enable Logging" is unchecked. If I select "Enable Logging", the application starts fine.

Then I look for the ~/.cache/netbeans/ I dont have, I have instead ~/.netbeans/ Then I run his commands on those folder, it doesn't work.. It must be something else, do you have any idea? There are Myanmar3, Padauk, Tharlon, Myanmar Text ( Window 8 built-in ). You may need the fonts before the code. Google the fonts, please. Each of the fonts display on Java GUI differently and incorrectly.   Are there any good sites / blogs / books / articles on using Java EE together with Scala? Or indeed articles saying that it should not be done. Many Scala resources talk about using Akka and Lift. Akka solves a different domain problem than Java EE. I don't know Lift, but I assume its geared towards the web end of Java EE and doesn't replace app server containers which provide transactions, security, scalability, resource management, reliability, etc. (all those things which Java EE markets itself as being good at).

• Java 1.7 update 07 and Google Chrome

  I've just updated Java from 1.6 to 1.7 via the Software Centre - removing the old Java 1.6 and selecting the new Java 1.7. Firefox works fine. But when I use Google Chrome to access a Java test website it says the Plugin is out of date. I click on run anyway and it says that it's running version 1.7. I've cleared Chrome's Cache and Plugin data and this hasn't changed anything. Anyway ideas? (Ps. It's Ubuntu 12.04 64 bit)

  Hi all, I am new to Pentaho, and I am struggling to set up a new database connection. I am trying to connect to an Oracle 10g database, but whenever I test the connection, I get the below error. It doesn't really seem to list any specific error message so I'm not really sure what to do or where to go from this point. • Troubleshooting wireless connection problem / site survey?

  I just started in the IT department of a small company (200 users) and it's clear that one of the main problems that is driving everyone crazy is the spotty nature of the wireless connectivity throughout the office, particularly in certain conference rooms. This is a huge problem because the connection often drops during important presentations to clients. I was hired to help ease the load on the existing IT admin, who has done a great job, but is overloaded with many other tasks to deal with. So I would like to try to help out with this wireless issue. I am looking for advice on the best way to solve this problem--a realistic troubleshooting methodology that does not require me to spend any money. So far, I've experimented with Ekahau Heat Mapper, which is free and helps create a site survey. But I'm not exactly sure what I'm looking for or if there are other programs/tools/methods I should try as well. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. [Some background: The wireless setup consists of an HP ProCurve Mobility MSM (710?) controller that controls 10 access points throughout the building. There are three virtual wireless networks configured on the controller: one seems to be a default that cannot be changed, one is for internal employees and authenticates via Active Directory, and the third is a guest network for visitors. When I use HeatMapper, these show up as three different SSIDs, with different MAC addresses, all on the same channel. At first I thought maybe this would cause interference, but this seems to be the way the controller works;apparently, it automatically configures the channels to avoid interference from the other APs on the network.]

  After upgrading my home server from Ubuntu 8.10 to 10.4 my wireless seemingly drops out, even though my IRC client keeps it's connection to the servers, so it looks like the machine just stops taking wireless requests. • Is browser based wireless authentication secure?

  Our wireless network previously used a preshared WPA/WPA2 key for guest access, which allows them access to the Internet. (Our employee access uses 802.1x authentication). We just had a wireless consultant come in to fix various wireless issues we had; one of the things he wound up doing was changing our guest access to HTML-based instead of the preshared key. So now that guest SSID is open (instead of using WPA) and users are presented with a browser-based login screen before they can get on the Internet. My question is: Is this an acceptable method from a security standpoint? I would assume that having an open network is necessarily a bad idea, but the consultant said that the traffic is still using PEAP, so it's secure. I didn't get a chance to question him further on this because we ran late and a bunch of other things came up. Please let me know what you think about the advantages/disadvantages of using HTML-based wireless authentication as opposed to using a preshared WPA key. Thanks...

• DLINK WBR-1310B Wireless Router seems to hang...

  I have a brand new DLINK-1310B Wireless Router (box never before opened, although I bought it the neighborhood computer junk store). I am using it at home (and in fact am using it this instant from a wireless laptop). When operative, I can ping it at 192.168.0.1, and I can log into it from the PC attached to by LAN and from the wireless PC at //192.168.0.1. In the course of the day since I've installed, it seems to have locked up 3 times. Each time the symptoms are my web browser (or other internet service) stops with a "No internet connection" error. Attempts to contact the router via 192.168.0.1 get no reaction, from either the wireless laptop or from the hardwired PC sitting next to it. It doesn't respond to pings to that address either. Rebooting fixes it. Its brand new. I've seen discussion in other questions about aging cheap electronics. Its too new to be aged. Anyboyd else seen this behavior with a DLINK-1310? Or do I just need to exchange it for another and try again? (I hate rolling dice, I bought the DLINK becuase a previous Linksys died of apparant heating problems). Remarkably, nobody talks about how much software is in a router. Is the stuff just buggy?

• D-LINK DIR-615 router keeps giving my wireless devices bad ip addresses

  I have a D-LINK DIR-615 router, and wired devices have no problem getting an IP, however; wireless devices end up with a 169.254.. address (subsequently, they cannot access the internet through the router). I have removed all wired connections from the router, so there is no other dhcp server running. I've also gone back to the store, and replaced it with another, thinking that maybe it was defective. According to the router, it gave 192.168.0.101 to the wireless device. According to the wireless device it got 169.254.67.71. I've tried both a laptop and an iPod Touch, both exhibit the same behaviour. Has anyone seen this type of behaviour, or have any ideas of stuff to try?
