  I think there are some js-libraries with programming the html5 canvas element. Which one to choose? I've done some js-coding with canvas and are somewhat familiar with the api. But I think somekind of library which encapsulates the somewhat tedious canvas api would be a good thing, so it speeds up the development.   According to Marcin Ciura's Optimal (best known) sequence of increments for shell sort algorithm. The best sequence for shellsort is 1, 4, 10, 23, 57, 132, 301, 701... But how can I generate such a sequence ? In Marcin Ciura's paper he said : Both Knuth’s and Hibbard’s sequences are relatively bad, because they are defined by simple linear recurrences but most algorithm books I searched , they all tend to use Knuth’s sequence : k = 3k + 1 ; because it's easy to generate , what's your way of generating shellsort sequence ?

• Problem with GetDefaultPrinter() over a VPN c++

  I am writing an application that gets its dimensions from the paper ratio of the default printer of the local computer. This all works well unless the default printer is over a VPN. When this is the case, calling GetDefaultPrinter() takes too long. I need to find a way to put a time constraint on GetDefaultPrinter() and if it exceeds that constraint, break out of the function. This program can then optimize the input properties based on the output values of your algorithm.
