    When I try to add "Sass::Plugin.options[:style] = :compact" to environment.rb I get "uninitialized constant Sass (NameError)" when I try to start up my server. I have added "gem 'haml', '3.0.0'" to my Gemfile. Anybody ran into this?

  • .Net Com Interop Create Instance Slow

    I have a .net 4 application that uses a Com Dll to send SMS messages. I used TlbImp to create the interop assembly and that is what is referenced in the application. When I try to create an instance of this class, it takes a really long time (2-5 seconds). I ran performance profile in VS 2010 and the call that takes the longest by far is System.Activator.CreateInstance(). I am looking for tips on how to debug or gotchas with using Com Interop.

  • Why do transfer objects need to implement Serializable?

    I realized today that I have blindly just followed this requirement for years without ever really asking why. Today, I ran across a NotSerializableException with a model object I created from scratch and I realized enough is enough. I was told this was because of session replication between load-balanced servers, but I know I've seen other objects at session scope that do not implement Serializable. Is this the real reason?

    I was just about to test my app on a device when I ran into this problem, I'm getting this Linker Error. I've already checked all my compile sources and Build Phases, but there's no sign of my importing things twice. ld: duplicate symbol _calculateNextSearchPage in /Users/wouter/Sites/test/FastPdfKit.embeddedframework/FastPdfKit.framework/FastPdfKit(FastPdfKit) and /Users/wouter/Sites/test/FastPdfKit.embeddedframework/FastPdfKit.framework/FastPdfKit(FastPdfKit) for architecture armv7 clang: error: linker command failed with exit code 1 (use -v to see invocation) This only happens when testing on a device, not in the simulator.

I'm a novice to C++ and looking into C++ mocking frameworks to augment the work I'd done using OCUnit and poor man's mocks. I ran across googlemock and wanted to know if anyone has ever used it for iPhone development? Also, how can I share this (or mockpp) with other devs as it is an installable package and doesn't seem to lend itself to checking into a repository?

    Hey everyone, I'm currently playing around with tipfy on Google's Appengine and just recently ran into a problem: I can't for the life of me find any documentation on how to use GET variables in my application, I've tried sifting through both tipfy and Werkzeug's documentations with no success. I know that I can use request.form.get('variable') to get POST variables and **kwargs in my handlers for URL variables, but that's as much as the documentation will tell me. Any ideas?

Is the message it gave "Warning: Method could be a function" telling me that it would be better to move this method out of the class because it doesn't use any instance variables? In c# I would make this a static method. What's the most pythonic thing to do here?

    I was given the daunting task of converting a ASP website to PHP and MSSQL to MySQL, and I ran into an issue that hopefully somebody can help I have a user table which has a password field with datatype Varbinary(128), are using pwdencrypt to encrypt the password. Is there a way to transfer that over to MySQL, and somehow i need to be able to keep the password intact... how can i go about that? any pointers would be greatly appreciated!

    I just setup an out of the box "W2K8 R2 Web" server and installed IIS 7 out of the box. Then I installed the .NET4 framework and ran "aspnet_regiis -i" command. I created a site using .NET 4.0 Integrated app pool. I created an MVC application using the default MVC project template, without modifying I compiled the project and deploy the files using (Publish) to the virtual directory. I can pull the site up, but the styles are missing from the page and for some reason it routing to the /Account/LogOn?ReturnUrl=/

    Hello, Im making an application in cocoa and wanted to see if some strings in it were easily accessible so I ran OTX on it and sadly all of my code was found. Is there a method I can use to make my code more "secure" or at least encrypt/hide the strings? The reason I want to encrypt the string is it's a password for a server.     This is less a question and more a record of what I've found around the AVCam sample code provided by Apple for iOS4 and 5 camera manipulation. The symptoms of the problem for me were that my app would crash on launching the AVCamViewController after taking around 5-10 photos. I ran the app through the memory leak profiler and there were no apparent leaks but on inspection with the Activity Monitor I discovered that something called mediaserverd was increasing by 17Mb every time the camera was launched and when it reached ~100Mb the app crashed with multiple low memory warnings.

  • MVC app not working on server but is fine on development machine

    Hello, I am able to run my application just fine on my dev machine but as soon as I publish it to the web server some functionality is lost. Any type of .ajax POST does not work usually with a 401 unauthorized error. The server is Windows 2008 with IIS7. I also installed Visual Studio 2008 with MVC2 on the server and ran the application directly on the server and the same .ajax POST does not work but the error changed to 500 unknown. Thanks for the help.

  • C program that prints out another C program in Japanese

When compiled and ran it printed out another program formatted in a different Japanese character, then another, then finally it printed out the first again. Now, we've all been down this road before with 2 digit shortsight, but honestly - a 200 year service life for a Java & Oracle payroll system? Our Board of Directors would be thrilled if the company was even solvent for 1/4th that long. When forced to use a dropdown year select, where do you draw the line?
