  • How to static analyze C++ and Objective-C++ code?

    The "Build and analyze" option doesn't seem to work for .cpp and .mm files. I tried "clang --analyze" on individual files without any standard #includes and it works well. However I'm not able to run it on my Xcode project. I couldn't figure out a way to make clang find the standard #includes like even UIKit.h. Any clues?

  • Cannot install mercurial properly - PYTHONPATH error

    Hi, I have a server running on Ubuntu 10.04 on which I wanted to install Mercurial via % sudo apt-get install mercurial It seems to have installed successfully and doesn't show me any error messages. But when I try it I get: % hg abort: couldn't find mercurial libraries in [/usr/bin /usr/lib/python2.6 /usr/lib/python2.6/plat-linux2 /usr/lib/python2.6/lib-tk /usr/lib/python2.6/lib-old /usr/lib/python2.6/lib-dynload /usr/lib/python2.6/dist-packages /usr/lib/pymodules/python2.6 /usr/local/lib/python2.6/dist-packages] (check your install and PYTHONPATH) I've googled for a while now and found some sites with the same problem but I still have no idea on how to fix it since it nowhere really says what I need to look for or what I need to add to my PYTHONPATH... By the way, right now my PYTHONPATH seems to be empty: % echo $PYTHONPATH % This is what I get if I look into my /usr/lib/ directory for mercurial: % find /usr/lib/py* -name 'mercurial*' /usr/lib/pymodules/python2.6/mercurial /usr/lib/pymodules/python2.6/mercurial-1.4.3.egg-info /usr/lib/pyshared/python2.6/mercurial Can anybody please help me with that? What (and how) should I set my PYTHONPATH to? I already tried reinstalling, installing with "easy_install mercurial" or with "aptitude reinstall mercurial" but nothing helped. I always get this same error. Would be great if anyone could help... thanks!   • Windows 7 library nightmare

    In our active directory we deploy a policy to our clients where the personal directory (My documents) is redirected to a file server of ours \server\share\username\Documents In older systems everything worked fine. in Windows 7 some users are experimenting the following symptoms: * The Documents library is EMPTY * Where the documents library should be shown in Explorer an empty white icon is displayed. No caption. * Right clicking in the Documents library to edit the folders that are part of the libraries brings the dialog up. However, that dialog is unusable. No folder is present there and clicking Add folder does nothing. * Deleting the library and auto-creating it doesn't solve the problem * The shared directory can be accessed via UNC paths and it can be mounted as a shared drive as well. The library is still broken. * The shared drives are on a W2008 indexed server... * Using the Windows Library tool utility doesn't solve the problem. What can the cause of this problem be and how can this be solved?

  • gcc built by crosstool-ng gives undefined reference

    I've successfully built a toolchain using crosstool-ng with the default configuration named x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu. The documentation says: Using the toolchain is as simple as adding the toolchain's bin directory in your PATH, such as: export PATH="${PATH}:/your/toolchain/path/bin" and then using the target tuple to tell the build systems to use your toolchain: ./configure --target=your-target-tuple or make CC=your-target-tuple-gcc or make CROSS_COMPILE=your-target-tuple- and so on... I followed the instructions and attempted to build GNU tar (tar-1.25.tar.bz2) with the toolchain. The commands ./configure --target=x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu and make CROSS_COMPILE=x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu- do not work (the build will succeed, but it uses the host system's gcc). The command make CC=x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu-gcc works, but in the very last step when it tries to link, it returns errors like this: compare.o: In function `openat': /dev/shm/x-tools/x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu/x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu/sys-root/usr/include/bits/fcntl2.h:134: undefined reference to `__openat_2' What could be the problem? Was the toolchain not properly setup? Perhaps x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu-gcc is using the header files from the host system but could not find the libraries in the target's sys-root?

  • Translate Java class with static attributes and Annotation to Scala equivalent

    I'm currently trying to "translate" the following Java class to an equivalent Scala class. It's part of a JavaEE6-application and i need it to use the JPA2 MetaModel. import javax.persistence.metamodel.SingularAttribute; import javax.persistence.metamodel.StaticMetamodel; @StaticMetamodel(Person.class) public class Person_ { public static volatile SingularAttribute<Person, String> name; } A dissassembling of the compiled class file reveals the following information for the compiled file: > javap Person_.class : public class model.Person_ extends java.lang.Object{ public static volatile javax.persistence.metamodel.SingularAttribute name; public model.Person_(); } So now i need an equivalent Scala file that has the same structure, as JPA depends on it, cause it resolves the attributes by reflection to make them accessible at runtime. So the main problem i think is that the attribute is static, but the Annotation has to be on an (Java)Object (i guess) My first naive attempt to create a Scala equivalent is the following: @StaticMetamodel(classOf[Person]) class Person_ object Person_ { @volatile var name:SingularAttribute[Person, String] = _; } But the resulting classfile is far away from the Java one, so it doesn't work. When trying to access the attributes at runtime, e.g. "Person_.firstname", it resolves to null, i think JPA can't do the right reflection magic on the compiled classfile (the Java variant resolves to an instance of org.hibernate.ejb.metamodel.SingularAttributeImpl at runtime). > javap Person_.class : public class model.Person_ extends java.lang.Object implements scala.ScalaObject{ public static final void name_$eq(javax.persistence.metamodel.SingularAttribute); public static final javax.persistence.metamodel.SingularAttribute name(); public model.Person_(); } > javap Person_$.class : public final class model.Person__$ extends java.lang.Object implements scala.ScalaObject public static final model.Person__$ MODULE$; public static {}; public javax.persistence.metamodel.SingularAttribute name(); public void name_$eq(javax.persistence.metamodel.SingularAttribute); } So now what i'd like to know is if it's possible at all to create a Scala equivalent of the Java class?     I am trying to mix dynamic and static cells in a grouped table view: I would like to get two sections with static cells at the top followed by a section of dynamic cells (please refer to the screenshot below). I have set the table view contents to static cells. The cell returned from cell = [super tableView:tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:indexPath] for section 0 and row 0 is nil. What is wrong with my code? Could there be any problems with my outlets? I haven't set any outlets because I am subclassing UITableViewController and supposedly do not any outlets for tableview to be set (?). Any suggestions on how to better do it? Edit II I have recreated my scene in storyboard (please refer to my updated screen shot above) and rewritten the view controller in order to start from a new base. I have also read the description in Apple's forum as applefreak suggested. However, I run in my first problem with the method numberOfSectionsInTableView:tableView, in which I increment the number of static sections (two) by one. - (NSInteger)numberOfSectionsInTableView:(UITableView *)tableView { return [super numberOfSectionsInTableView:tableView] + 1 ; } The app crashed with the error message: Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSRangeException', reason: '* -[__NSArrayI objectAtIndex:]: index 2 beyond bounds [0 .. 1]' Why is this code not working for me even though I followed Apple's and applefreak recommendations? It is possible that the tableView has changed a bit in iOS 6? Solution: I got this to work now using AppleFreaks code sample in his answer below. Thank you, AppleFreak! Edit III: Cell Selection: How can I handle cell selection in a mixed (dynamic and static cells) cell table view? When do I call super and when do I call self tableView? When I use [[super tableView] selectRowAtIndexPath:indexPath animated:NO scrollPosition:UITableViewScrollPositionNone] and try to check for the selected index paths with: UITableView *tableView = [super tableView]; if ( [[tableView indexPathForSelectedRow] isEqual:customGrowthIndexPath] ) { .. } I get an return value of nil. What I am interested in is described here Routing for multiple uplinks/providers, but in my case I have two IP addresses from one provider, both are on same subnet and off course I have internet access on both. I have two NICs, but I don't mind to go with one if that makes it possible. Any thought is appreciated!

    I'm trying to link to a static library and I keep getting linker errors. I've found a few sites that post examples but I have not been able to see what I am doing wrong. First I create a project that will link to my lib add existing files find my .xcodeproj file select "Copy items into destination groups folder"... Select my host project as Add To Targets. Then I add a direct dependency to my host app expand targets double click MyHost.app click + under direct dependencies select my lib Then I set build flags double click MyHost application icon in Groups and Files. click the build tab then I set the OtherLinerFlag to -ObjC then I set Header Search Paths to my header file location for my static library. I pass the compile stage but any classes in my static lib cause linker error: literal-pointer@_OBJC@_cls_refs@SomeClass in MyHost.o thanks!

Question 1: How do I create static library using gcc/g++ ?How do I make my app link against it. Question 2: How to specify it in the makefile, linking against static and dynamic libs, assuming that both libraries have header files Summary: I have been using makefiles and libraries for years, written by someone else. Thus every time I modified it, I simply cut-and-pasted things around, without really understanding it.   • Replacing build.xml with Build.java - using Java and the Ant libraries as a build system

    I've grown disillusioned with Groovy based alternatives to Ant. AntBuilder doesn't work from within Eclipse, the Groovy plugin for Eclipse is disappointing, and Gradle just isn't ready yet. The Ant documentation has a section titled "Using Ant Tasks Outside of Ant" which gives a teaser for how to use the Ant libraries from Java code. There's another example here: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/msg16310.html In theory it seems simple enough to replace build.xml with Build.java. The Ant documentation hints at some undocumented dependencies that I'll have to discover (undocumented from the point of view of using Ant from within Java). Given the level of disappointment with Ant scripting, I wonder why this hasn't been done before. Perhaps it has and isn't a good build system. Has anyone tried writing build files in Java using the Ant libraries?

    I would like to use some parts of Glassfish in a proprietary software that are under a CDDL + GPLv2 license. Am I allowed to do that? I haven't modified anything in the code of these libraries, so is this OK, or my software, because it uses these libraries, is still considered derivative work, and thus a big no-no? I mean, according to https://jaxb.dev.java.net/, JAXB is also under CDDL + GPLv2, but I know I can freely use that in proprietary software. Is this because CDDL + GPLv2 actually allows that, or is it distributed under a different license when bundled with the JRE?

    I might be missing something but how do you manage Java projects in eclipse that need a lot of Jar files. I know maven manages libraries well if there are new updates but maybe I'm missing something, is there a way that eclipse can update new jar files (it would be especially useful for projects using apache-commons, say). I don't want to sound like asking for a feature request, but I'm looking at if there are ways to keep libraries jar files that a Java project uses to keep them updated automatically the way maven does. With more languages coming with this type of features, finding the right Jar files probably should be easier than this.

  • Can I make valgrind ignore glibc libraries?

    Is it possible to tell valgrind to ignore some set of libraries? Specifically glibc libraries.. Actual Problem: I have some code that runs fine in normal execution. No leaks etc. When I try to run it through valgrind, I get core dumps and program restarts/stops. Core usually points to glibc functions (usually fseek, mutex etc). I understand that there might be some issue with incompatible glibc / valgrind version. I tried various valgrind releases and glibc versions but no luck. Any suggestions?

  • JavaScript helper libraries? No DOM or AJAX stuff

    As I'm writing JavaScript I'm always missing some fairly basic language features that JavaScript just don't have. So is there any library that would bring such features as trim, sprintf, str.endwith and etc. functions to JavaScript ? I just have written those functions too many times and I'm also tired of copy/pasting them from my old code. It would be nice to have some library which has those implemented and tested in one place. Note that I'm not talking about Ajax/DOM-libraries like jQuery or Dojo and such. I know that those libraries bring some of the features that I'm talking here, but not all. And I would like to have also an environment independent library so that same library could be used with server side JavaScript . Best library so far that I've found is php.js, but I don't like how it is polluting the global namespace. I'm also not too fond of how PHP-functions are named.
