  • Power manager keeps shutting down the display

    I'm probably missing something here. I'm using the default Ubuntu power manger, I set it up like this: On AC: no screen dimming when idle, never put computer to sleep, never put display to sleep. On battery: I kept the default settings. Still, Ubuntu does whatever it likes, and after 15 min it puts the display to sleep. Does anyone have the same problem and found a way to solve it? I'm using an Eee PC with Ubuntu 10.10 Desktop.

  • Input of mouseclick not always registered in XNA Update method

    I have a problem that not all inputs of my mouse events seem to be registered. The update logic is checking a 2 dimensional array of 10x10 . It's logic for a jewel matching game. So when i switch my jewel I can't click on another jewel for like half a second. I tested it with a click counter variable and it doesn't hit the debugger when i click the second time after the jewel switch. Only if I do the second click after waiting half a second longer. Could it be that the update logic is too heavy that while he is executing update logic my click is happening and he doesn't register it? What am I not seeing here :)? Or doing wrong. It is my first game.   • Root cause for high CPU usage; which measurement to trust more: Windows Task Manager or Process Explorer?

    Consider this Windows 8.1 machine (in-place upgrade from Windows 8) with differing reports on its CPU usage. The machine is idle, and has been for 3 days. There are no CPU intensive tasks running currently nor over the 3 day idle period. Windows Task Manager is reporting CPU usage constantly at an incredibly high value (and increasing over time!) at around 75%. Process Explorer from SysInternals reports that the CPU usage is much different at around 42% How does Process Explorer report 42.14% usage, but its columns report Idle at 57%, with the sum of the other processes not even approaching 10%? Which of these two values should I trust more, and why should it be trusted over the other measurement? How can I actually determine which process is causing Task Manager to report its values?   • How do I get drivers working for an Nvidia GT560i on 12.04?

    I been using a test Xubuntu 12.04 LTS on my 64 bit workstation, because Ubuntu has dropped support for the nvidia graphic adapters my 10.04 LTS and I haven't been able to get them working. Now update manager has upgraded the kernel from 3.2.0-30-generic to 3.2.0-31-generic, and failed to produce a working nvidia module that the X server can load. Fortunately, when launching the 3.2.0-30-generic kernel, I still have use of the X server. Does anybody know a work-around or fix for this? I'm really worried, this is the last working Ubuntu distribution OS on the computer and I don't want to give up on Ubuntu. Details of problem here.

  • 2 Google Tag Manager containers = double triggers?

    I have a Joomla website with existing analytics done by a GTM tag and I need to add another image tag (1x1 pixel) from a separate GTM container. I set the event name for the additional GTM container to a different name from from the existing GTM container (default 'gtm.js') so that the new tag only fires under the specified event. The new container tested out fine in a blank HTML page, but when it is put in the website, it ends up firing twice. I know that because Firebug showed 2 1x1 pixels being loaded and I mark each request with a randomly-generated UID to distinguish them on the server side. I suspect this being caused by having multiple GTM container tags but want to check whether anyone has run into this problem before? As of now, I could not verify nor fix the double counting problem.

    I have this consistent problem of RDSM crashing in Server 2008 R2. It is either really slow to open, sometimes never opens, or after it's been open and working properly for a bit, stops working, and forces an unload of the snap-in. It's done this since the deployment of this server, new hardware, new instance of S2k8. Domain Administrator login. I am using it to manage 3 Terminal Servers, the other two are S2k3. I've used it without issues on other 2008 servers.

  • How to debug wifi connection?

    I am using Ubuntu's Network Manager to connect to a local wifi router. My problem is, that it often disconnects without any visible reason (router is on, internet connection seems to be working, wifi diodes are blinking). I mostly have to disable wifi from Network Manager, enable it again to get wifi connecting again. Plus I am often experiencing Network Manager trying to connect to my wifi, trying several times but then giving up. I even tried an external usb-wifi card, but with the very same results. My question is: How can I debug this? Which logs should I read to see what is really happening when all of these errors occur - so I can post them here and see how to proceed?
