    Well, the rule "For money, always decimal" isn't applied inside the Microsoft development team, because if it was: Namespace: Microsoft.VisualBasic Assembly: Microsoft.VisualBasic (in Microsoft.VisualBasic.dll) Financial.IPmt and all the other methods would receive/return decimal and not double as it is. Now I wonder if I can use this methods without worry with round mistakes? Should I use some other libraries to work with finances? If yes, could you point me some good ones (for C# use) ? Thank you.

  • Why do conditional breakpoints slow my program down so much?

    When I'm debugging something that goes wrong inside a loop, say on the 600th iteration, it can be a pain to have to break for every one. So I tried setting a conditional breakpoint, to only break if I = 600. That works, but now it takes almost a full minute to reach that point, where before it was almost instantaneous. What's going on, and is there any way to fix it?

  • XY-Scatter Chart In SSRS Won't Display Points

    I'm a bit confused with this one. I have a Dataset with a BackupDate and a BackupTime as well as a BackupType. The BackupDate is comprised of 12 characters from the left of a datetime string within a table. The BackupTime is comprised of 8 characters from the right of that same datetime string. So for example: BackupDate would be 'December 12 2008' and the BackupTime would be '12:53PM.' I have added an XY-scatter chart to the report. I've added a 'series' value for the BackupType (so one can distinguish between a Full/Incr/Log backup). I've added a category value of BackupDate and set the Scale for the X-axis from the Min of BackupDate to the Max of BackupDate. I've then added an item to the Values with the Y variable set to BackupTime and the X variable set to BackupDate. The interval for the Y-axis is 12:00AM to 11:59PM and the formatting for the labels is 'hh:mmtt'. The BackupTime matches the format of the Y-axis. The BackupDate matches the format of the X-axis. 10 entries are retrieved by my Dataset and the Legend is properly populated by the BackupType field. No points are being plotted on the graph and no markers/pointers are shown if they are enabled. There should be a point on the graph for every point in time of each day there is a backup of a specific type. Am I missing something? Does anyone know of a good tutorial dealing specifically with XY-scatter graphs and using them in a way I intend? I am using the 2005 version of SSRS rather than the 2008 version.   • time series in python up to microseconds

    Hi All I would like to handle time series in python. I have been suggested to use scikit.timeseries but I need to handle up to microseconds and this last, as far as I know, handles up to milliseconds. Do you know any other library able to do that? At some point I need to merge 2 time series sampled at different time, and I would like to avoid rewriting such kind of features or any new classes from scratch whenever it is possible.     I have a series of points in a GraphicsPath; for our purpose lets assume its the outline of an uppercase B. I want to be able to be able to draw only the bottom portion that would resemble an uppercase L. I'd like to be able to select a window of points from the GraphicsPath. Is there a handy way to do this without doing point interpolation?

    I'm keen to test out html offline storage and caching with a view to developing a prototype to show off the offline web application capabilities of html5. I've found some webkit-specific samples, but I'm battling to find any decent code samples that even work at all in Firefox 3.6 For a sample, I'd be happy with something that works with the following: Our company uses jquery extensively so I'd prefer samples that use that library or pure javascript. It should at least work on firefox (3.6+ is fine) Can anyone point me to some links that provide some guidance and code samples?

    Hi I have just installed Hudson on a Weblogic server and I am having issues with the nodes going off line due to the Free Temp Space falling below the 1gig threshold. Now I have checked my /tmp folder (thinking Hudson uses that) but it is sitting at 10gigs free. Would anybody be able to point me to the folder Hudson uses? Also I am using a SunOS box. Thanks,

    Hello, Could anyone point exactly where MSDN says thet every user stored procedure returns 0 by default if no error happens? In other words, could I be sure that example code given below when being a stored procedure IF someStatement BEGIN RETURN 1 END should always return zero if someStatement is false and no error occurs? I know that it actually works this way, but I failed to find any explicit statement about this from Microsoft.

So for example, I have two different IIS applications(virtual directories) on a web server, and they both point to one state server for session.   • RAD Visual Web Application Creator/ Builder/ Designer for PHP

    Hi all, I want to see if any of you know a (free and open source will be ideal) tool/ app that can help build a php web application very quickly without investing too much time on writing codes, preferring drag and drop/ point and click work-flow designer for logic design (see Agile from Outsystems below). Plus, visual designer for the business logic is great since it can help a developer visualize the logic better. There are a lot of GUI builders, form builders out there, but I am looking for one app for the entire web application development process. My goal is to find an application that a team of developers can use together and use the build-in code of the app as much as possible. E.g. the app will provide a modular just for handle user login or a shopping cart; a developer just need to drag and drop the modular to the logic designer and the code will be generated. This way the functionality will be in a module and code will always be standard across developers. So if a new developer get on-board, he will just need to use the system and get up and running quickly. To explain this better: there is a lot php frameworks, e.g. cakephp, CodeIgniter, etc which I can use to help coding, but still I need to create (code) the GUI, writing quite a bit of codes. I am looking for a tool/ app that is a little more high level than those frameworks. Here is 2 examples apps I found during my google search which they have visual logic designer and gui builder in one single app. Also a single click deployment (but I need it to be php apps or at least I can deploy the (php) code to a LAMP/ WAMP server): Wavemaker: for JAVA Agile from Outsystems: for JAVA or .net (This one is really good, with work-flow drag and drop logic designer!) Talend: it is just an ETL tool, but the concept is what I want to bring up. Drag and drop, point and click logic design. Custom code can be added if it is needed, but the drag and drop process already finished the structure and most of the coding of the web app one needs to build. I want to list Adobe Flex, but it is more like a GUI designer + IDE, not exactly what I want to describe here. The drag and drop/ work-flow logic designer is a key for the app. I could go for the CMS route by learning how to extend them, but it is not that flexible for me and is a long learning curve. Anybody came across this type of app before? Or any idea of how can I find those apps? I googled them for long time, I don't see any of them for php and just few (just 2) for Java.     Sometime back I used a windows tool to see what a process is doing. This tool allowed me to inspect functions exported from DLL. It also allowed me to change the values passed to a function on the fly. I cannot recollect the name(not sure if that was free or commercial one). Could any one point to me solution that can do this?
