• iPhone - Image overlay MapKit framework?

  I can see with iOS4 you can now tile an image on google maps (Been looking at the TileMap example from apple). This is great as this is what I want to do, but from what I can see I need to know the GEO reference of the image so I can raster the images with the appropriate zoom levels, etc. What I have is an artist image, which is a map of a specific area and I want to overlay this image on google maps. Am I missing something here, but can this be done with a none standard map and having different zoom levels? The main reason why I need to use google maps is because of the GPS functionality, so the user will know where they currently are on the map.

  How would I go about using Double Buffering (to create a loading screen) in Panda3D using C++? I've searched Google and found some forums that talk about the concept of swapping buffers, but I haven't seen any that show any type of source code (specifically Panda3D/C++). I'd like to try and stay away from using pure OpenGL code and work it through Panda3D, but if I have no other choice, then I'll have to go with OpenGL coding.

  I would like to check to see if I have an Internet connection on the iPhone using the Cocoa Touch libraries. I came up with a way to do this using an NSUrl. The way I did it seems a bit unreliable (because even Google could one day be down and relying on a 3rd party seems bad) and while I could check to see for a response from some other websites if Google didn't respond, it does seem wasteful and an unnecessary overhead on my application. - (BOOL) connectedToInternet { NSString *URLString = [NSString stringWithContentsOfURL:[NSURL URLWithString:@"http://www.google.com"]]; return ( URLString != NULL ) ? I don't understand how to wrap the arrow with this: ui-state-default ui-corner-all because themeroller is using list items, and I'm using table head cells. I don't want to use: <th class="ui-state-default ui-corner-all"> because that highlights the entire cell.

• Are there hosted jQuery UI themes anywhere? [closed]

  Possible Duplicate: Downloading jQuery CSS from Google's CDN I'm using Google-hosted jQuery and jQueryUI, but I'm wondering if there are hosted jQueryUI themes anywhere? I'd like to just point to a hosted CSS file (the same way I do with the hosted JS file), so that I don't have to worry about setting up directories for the widget images or the CSS files or anything like that. Update I've found this, referenced by the jqueryui.com source code: <link rel="stylesheet" href="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jqueryui/1.7.2/themes/ui-lightness/jquery-ui.css" type="text/css" media="all" /> Substituting the name of other themes from the themeroller page seems to work, but I'd love it if someone could find where on Google they list all the available themes that they are hosting.   I would like to do this: tell application "Finder" to set appName to (application file id "com.google.Chrome") as text using terms from application appName tell application appName to get URL of active tab of first window end using terms from This doesn't work because "using terms from" requires an application name as a string constant. If i substitute this line: using terms from application appName with this one using terms from application "Google Chrome" it works. However I don't want to rely on the target machine having the application named "Google Chrome". Using the bundle identifiers seems safer. Is there a better way to do this?

(note exclamation mark is not part of the URL) Is http://somesite.com/ down for anyone else? Output: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IY2j_GPIqRA http://google.com http://somesite.com/ I've already borrowed one regular expression from the internet which works, but unfortunately wipes the query string out - not good!   I have a site that has certain urls that point to pages with permanent data and others that point to dynamic web pages. Google indexes both these regularly. By the time a user finds one of the dynamic content urls, the data on the page has already changed and the user does not find what he was looking for. Further, the dynamic url pages contains links to the permanent urls (which I want Google or any crawler to index). Is there a way to extract full address from it? Or am I supposed to write code that adds http manually? e.g, if not starts with http://, add http://. Thanks!

• Getting a list of all phone contacts?

  Simple enough question. I need to know the best way to get the same list of contacts that show up when a user presses the Contacts button. By secondary accounts, in Android you can add additional gmail accounts to have the mail/contacts synced. The above intent will not list those additional contacts. I am also told that on the HTC Desire you can add contacts to the phone that do not get synced up to Google. These contacts also do not show up. So how do I get a real list of contacts so I can create my own list activity that works properly where the Google intent does not.

For example if I want to search "hello", a new window pops out (even if a Firefox window is already open) and then launches a Google and Bing tabs searching for "hello". If I change the keyword to "world", a new browser pops out again with Google and Bing tabs searching for "world". I've looked at the webbrowser module but couldn't get it to: 1.
