  • Adapting existing HTML/Javascript model to Titanium's latest release (v 0.9)

    In pre-0.9 versions of Titanium, one could simply specify an .html file (local or remote) in the tiapp.xml file and interact with it in the same manner as one would on a website. As of version 0.9, that is no the longer case. One creates their entire app dynamically. Unfortunately, this broke my previous implementation and, other than an updated Kitchen Sink, much of the new model and API calls are not covered in the documentation (e.g., createLabel). So, my question is this... What are the simplest steps for re-creating the previous effect (knowingly forgoing some of the advantages of the Titanium's latest approach if necessary)? My previous implementation was exactly as it functions on the website. The website has a single index.html file with no content other than links to JavaScript and style files. The document body's onload event called the first JavaScript function (located in the main script) and, from that point forth, the entire content was dynamically created. How can I set up the latest version of Titanium so that I am poised to do the exact same thing? BTW: Whereas I previously had the choice to keep the files local or remote, I don't believe that remote access (e.g., simply using the webView widget to point to the website) is viable. That's because pages displayed via the webView do not have access to most of the API. Since the iPhone and Safari browsers do not support the file input type, the only means for uploading files (something my app requires) is calling Titanium's function. Thanks in advance.

  • Drag and drop image from and to fixed position on fixed path

    I am trying to allow the user to drag and drop and image from on position to another. The screen layout is as follows: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 I want the user to grab image 2, 4, 6, or 8 and drag it to image 5. Upon dragging to image 5 I want to load up a fragment. The user can only drag the image in a straight line from it's current position to 5's position. ie image 2 and only drag down and only until it is overtop of image 5, image 4 can only drag right until overtop of 5, etc. Any insight on how to do this is greatly appreciated.   • Java Timers - Messing up function called?

    So I have a TimerTask task calling a function onTimerComplete() in its run() onTimerComplete() looks something like this: private void onTimerComplete(){ myFunc1(); myFunc2(); } I make a Timer t and I schedule the TimerTask with t.schedule(task, 2000); The problem is, when the timer is up and the task runs my onTimerComplete() but that function does not finish. It runs myFunc1() but never finishes it nor does it ever call myFunc2() However, if I call onTimerComplete() directly, everything works. What's the deal here?

    I'm trying to implement paging in a custom ListAdapter. Right now I'm just making the request for the next page when the last item in the ListView becomes visible, by checking in getView() if position is >= the size of ListAdapter.getCount(). It works fine, but I'm wondering if there's a better way (or a different way) that will only make the request once the last item in the list is actually visible to the user. Anyone know of a way?

  • Mapview getLatitudeSpan and getLongitudeSpan not working

    Hi! Sometimes when trying to get the Latitude span or Longitude span of a mapview with getLatitudeSpan() and getLongitudeSpan() I get 0 and 360*1E6 respectively. This doesn't happen always but it is a problem, has anybody got this problem? Any workarounds? I tried using getProjection() too but I get the same problem.   • How to add parameters to HttpURLConnection using POST

    I am trying to do POST with HttpURLConnection(I need to use it this way, can't use HttpPost) and I'd like to add parameters to that connection such as post.setEntity(new UrlEncodedFormEntity(nvp)); where nvp = new ArrayList<NameValuePair>(); having some data stored in. I can't find a way how to add this ArrayList to my HttpURLConnection which is here: HttpsURLConnection https = (HttpsURLConnection) url.openConnection(); https.setHostnameVerifier(DO_NOT_VERIFY); http = https; http.setRequestMethod("POST"); http.setDoInput(true); http.setDoOutput(true); the reason for that awkward https and http combination is the need for not verifying the certificate. That is not a problem, though, it posts. But I need it to post with arguments. Any ideas? Thanks a lot!

  • How can I pop a view from a UINavigationController and replace it with another in one operation?

    I have an application where I need to remove one view from the stack of a UINavigationController and replace it with another. The situation is that the first view creates an editable item and then replaces itself with an editor for the item. When I do the obvious solution within the first view: MyEditViewController *mevc = [[MYEditViewController alloc] initWithGizmo: gizmo]; [self retain]; [self.navigationController popViewControllerAnimated: NO]; [self.navigationController pushViewController: mevc animated: YES]; [self release]; I get very strange behavior. Usually the editor view will appear, but if I try to use the back button on the nav bar I get extra screens, some blank, and some just screwed up. The title becomes random too. It is like the nav stack is completely hosed. What would be a better approach to this problem? Thanks, Matt

    Hi all, On my activity, im getting some big data from web, and while getting this data i want to show the user a ProgressDialog with spinning wheel. That i can do only with putting this code into a thread, right ? the problem is that after im getting this data i need to insert it into my tableLayout as TableRows and it seems impossible to access the TableLayout from the thread. What can i do to show this progress dialog and to be able access the table layout from the thread ?? Is there any event that happens on the end of the thread ?   • Background image for list view still shows white behind text for cells.

    I wanted to put a background image partially visible behind a list view. I created a list view in my nib with an image view behind it and made the list view background 20% opacity. This allows the background image to show thru but my text in the cells show a white background behind and if I create the cells in cellForRowAtIndexPath the cells have a white background too. I am creating and setting the cell textLabel and the detailTextLabel in the cellForRowAtIndexPath event. Not sure how to get rid of that, or if there is a better way to do the background image.
