  • SQL Server 2008 Dead lock issue

    I got into a deadlock issue where I am struggling find the root-cause...The Deadlock graph suggests that an UPDATE statement became the victim over a SELECT statement... What puzzles me is that the UPDATE statement is trying to acquire an index on some other table that is never referred in update statement... This is how my UPDATE statement looks like... UPDATE Table set col1 = @P1 where col2 = @P2 This statement acquired a X lock on the col2 index, but also tries to acquire an index on a column defined in some other table that is no way related to the UPDATE statement... And the SELECT statement that won the deadlock situation had nothing to do with the table or index in the update statement but tried to acquire an index on the table in UPDATE statement. eventually causing the DEADLOCK.

What I mean is that there seems to be a standard way to document code. php.net and api.jquery.com seem to document there code the a similar way.     I can't access http://developers.facebook.com on OS X Lion 10.7.1 in any way. Safari: Safari can't open the page because the server unexpectedly dropped the connection Chrome: Error 101 (net::ERR_CONNECTION_RESET): The connection was reset Firefox: The connection was reset. The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading. The problem might have been caused by DNS/cache and so on, so I tried the following but to no avail: Deleted cache/DNS Created a dummy user account on my Mac Reinstalled the OS (through the Internet and all my settings remain intact) Do you have any suggestions other than a fresh reinstallation of my Mac?

    My application supports twitter and needs to open browser for OAuth. When the user clicks the Share on Twitter button, the main activity will create another subactivity (TwitterActivity) to handle twitter authentication issues. Here is a flow graph showing how activities are invoked currently. Main is short for MainActivity and Twit for TwitterActivity. startActivity() OAuth intent OAuth callback finish() Main ---------------> Twit ------------> Browser --------------> Twit --------> Browser As you may notice, after the TwitterActivity calls finish() to stop, it will now return back to MainActivity, but Browser instead. How can I make it return back to MainActivity? Many thanks

I have done some analysis on the deadlock graph generated by the profiler trace and have come up with this information: The first process (spid 58) is running this query: UPDATE cds.dbo.task_core SET nstate = 1 WHERE nmboxid = 89 AND ndrawerid = 1 AND nobjectid IN (SELECT nobjectid FROM ( SELECT nobjectid, count(nobjectid) AS counting FROM cds.dbo.task_core GROUP BY nobjectid) task_groups WHERE task_groups.counting > 1) The second process (spid 86) is running this query: INSERT INTO task_core (…) VALUES (…) spid 58 is waiting for a Shared Page lock on CDS.dbo.task_core (spid 86 holds a conflicting intent exclusive (IX) lock) spid 86 is waiting for an Intent Exclusive (IX) page lock on CDS.dbo.task_core (spid 58 holds a conflicting Update lock)

  • Internet Explorer 9 auto "feeling lucky" for gmail bing search

    When Im at school and using school computers, i have to use has IE9. When I want to access my gmail, I type in "gmail" in the URL bar, and thus IE9 does a bing search. The page half loads (As in, loads just about every thing but the search results) and then opens my gmail, kinda like google's "i'm feeling lucky". My question is this: Why? IE9 doesn't have the URL of gmail, as i can watch the bing search load, and then the url changes to gmail, and it only happens for Gmail, having tired with searching Google and Facebook in the same method. The computer is running Windows 7 with Windows Aero disabled, and limited account privileges. While its a cool thing, I would like to known what causes it to happen. Thanks

  • Best language to use when exporting an excel file

    I want to write a macro program that takes in data from a text file and then arranges it in a specific manner in an excel file. I don't know which language has the best features for dealing with Excel. I prefer java, and I see someone made an api called JExcelApi, but I'm not sure about it's capabilities. I would like to be able to generate a graph automatically in excel based on the data in a certain column. Is this possible in any language? I would guess that Microsoft's VB or C# would have an advanced feature such as this, but I'm not sure. Thanks.

  • Dynamically created image doesn't show when <img>'s src is refreshed to point to it

    Hello, I have a javascript function generateGraph() { ... jQuery.get('chart.php?month='+month+'&year='+year); document.getElementById('graph').src = 'charts/'+month+'_'+year+'.png'; ... } which is called onChange. It basically creates, if not exists, or refreshes if already exists, a PNG image (using the first line above) and supposedly displays the generated image (using the second line above). The first line works, but the second one doesn't. Meaning, the image is generated, but the second line can't display the image, unless the page is reloaded, or if the image being referred to already existed before the page was loaded (meaning the 1st line just "refreshed" the image) Any ideas as to why this is and how to fix it?     I'm trying to render data from an AJAX response as a bar chart with jqplot. To render this bar chart I use two variables: s1 which contains the numbers ex: s1 = [22,67,32,89] ticks which contains the name corresponding to a number inside s1 ex: ticks = ["Jack", "Mary", "Paul", "John"] So my AJAX returns two variables, data1 and data2. When I console.log(data1) I get 22,67,32,89 When I console.log(data2) I get "Jack", "Mary", "Paul", "John" I then add the square brackets and change variable: s1 = [data1] ticks = [data2] When I console.log(s1) I get ["22,67,32,89"] When I console.log(ticks) I get "Jack", "Mary", "Paul", "John" And the graph does not render, this is my code: s1 = [data]; ticks = [data]; plot4 = $.jqplot('chartdiv4', [s1], { animate: !$.jqplot.use_excanvas, series:[{color:'#5FAB78'}], seriesDefaults:{ renderer:$.jqplot.BarRenderer, pointLabels: { show: true } }, axes: { xaxis: { renderer: $.jqplot.CategoryAxisRenderer, ticks: ticks }, yaxis:{min:0, max:100, label:'%',labelRenderer: $.jqplot.CanvasAxisLabelRenderer} }, highlighter: { show: false } }); });
