• Using the Onboard VGA output with a PCIe video card. Both nVidia

  I have 2 video cards, one On board, a nVidia 6150SE nForce 430 and a PCIe nVidia GeForce GT 220 1GB DDR2 RAM I have already configured the PCIe card to use the dual monitor feature, using the VGA and HDMI ports, but now I want to add a third monitor, using the On board VGA port I have managed to enable the On board graphics processor, which is taking 400MB of ram, but I cant manage to use it, nvidia-settings does not detect it, like it's not usable (but is there) My questions are the following: How can I manage to get the On board VGA display to work together with the PCIe graphics card? If possible, how can I recover those 400 MB the on board card is taking (even without being used) or how can I get it to use the PCIe card available memory? System Details: Linux 2.6.35-28-generic i686 Ubuntu 10.10 (All updates installed) NVIDIA Driver Version: 260.19.06 (Official) If more info is needed please let me know. • Can I get my video card to output a DVI and VGA signal at the same time?

  Hey All, I've got: a lovely 24" monitor, w/both DVI and VGA inputs, a personal desktop w/a Radeon HD Pro 2400 video card (both DVI and VGA outputs) a work laptop w/both outputs, and a KVM switch that handles VGA only Right now I've got laptop connected to the monitor's VGA, and the desktop connected to the DVI. This works, but requires me to switch the KVM and monitor input sources separately, which annoys me (I switch back & forth a lot to make skype calls & manage my music). I'd like to feed both VGA and DVI signals out of my desktop so I can do quick things on my desktop & switch right back, but then when I'm done working, switch the monitor over to DVI to get the crisper picture. Alas, just attaching both VGA and DVI cables to my desktop's video card did not do the trick. Can this card be persuaded to output both signals at the same time? Many thanks! -Roy

  Many desktop software (VLC, MPC) and have an option to 'zoom in' , 'crop black bars', or crop to a specific aspect ratio. How can we do this in Fullscreen on Youtube or other flash Video sites? I am the viewer, NOT the video's creator/publisher. iOS Can do this (double tap to zoom, which removes black bars, zoom depth not configurable). afaik, Desktop computers (and android devices), cannot do this on the fly. The only 'workaround' I've found is F11 and zooming of the entire web page - basically a fake full screen and zooming the web page beyond the screen size. Use Case: watching 4:3 flash videos from the web on a widescreen monitor. Looking for all creative solutions, including any software that accesses YouTube without using a web browser.

  I'm thinking of setting up 4 monitors in a grid, using two video cards, one card to feed each pair of monitors through the card's two DVI ports. The most important requirement for me is to have the grid of monitors act as one single huge screen. Is this scenario possible by using two generic cards like Radeon 4870s on a Windows 7 computer? (I've heard of Eyefinity, but 4870s don't have it) Another issue is that I only have one PCI-Express slot on my computer's motherboard, therefore I'll need to use one of the lesser PCI cards as the second video card. Will this pose problems?

• Are these symptoms of a video card is dying?

  What I am getting from my PC: Scrambled text in the boot menu. The scrambled text dissapears and everthing goes normal after several restarts, or the computer has worked for some time. Display goes blank showing, windows kernel mode driver stopped responding. Sometimes the windows just hangs, I need to restart the pc for that. There used to be some scrambled colors in my windows, so I cleaned up my video carda and port and reinstalled the video card, things are something right. The pc runs normally for hours in safe mode, as diffault display driver works at that case. My PC specs: Core 2 Duo processor 2 GB RAM NVIDIA EN210 SILENT GPU Windows 8 Drivers details: NVIDIA drivers - v331.65, told to be fully compatible with Win8 Currently I am installing Windows 7 and will be putting the older version of driver v320 to test, yet I'm really confused weather my GPU is dying or still on go.

  I've finally managed to set up my two ATI Radeon 6950 video cards in my machine, but the cards can get quite hot. Based on the arrangement of my apartment, I want to be able to SSH into the machine an execute a command to find out the temperature. What I have tried so far is this... export DISPLAY=:0.0 sudo aticonfig --adapter=0 --od-gettemperature However, when I do that via SSH, I get the following error: ERROR - X needs to be running to perform ATI Overdrive(TM) commands If I turn on X forwarding when I remote into the machine, then it just seems to affect my local machine instead of the remote machine. Am I doing this correctly? Is there a better way to monitor my video card's temperature?

Thanks @mattlant This is a dedicated server that's why I'm installing the SMTP manually. EDIT: I use exchange so its a little different, but its called a smart host in exchange, but in plain SMTP service config i think its called something else. Cant remember exactly the setting name. Thank you for pointing me at the Smart host field. Mail is getting delivered now. In the Default SMTP Virtual Server properties, the Delivery tab, click Advanced and fill the "Smart host" field with the address that your provider gives you.   I'm running into an issue when trying to geolocate users whom are using blackberry devices. Currently there are a few checks that I go through to geolocate the individual the first, using the navigator paramater inside browsers. if(navigator.geolocation) if this fails then I have a backup using a free service (for testing) from maxmind: See Here Yet this doesn't return back the city at all either. I've then tried using the JSPI that google maps proviedes, and echoing out the google.loader.ClientLocation: if (google.loader.ClientLocation != null) { document.write("Your Location Is: " + google.loader.ClientLocation.address.city + ", " + google.loader.ClientLocation.address.region + " lat: " + google.loader.ClientLocation.latitude + " Long: " + google.loader.ClientLocation.longitude); } else { document.write("Your Location Was Not Detected By Google Loader"); } When this didn't work I tried following the google maps 3.0 detect location seen here: Detecting Location I've done all this after seeing this work correctly in google latitude.. so I know there has to be a way to get the location... any thoughts, ideas on what I could possibly try? I would like to stream in the feed from the webcam. It SEEMS like this should be possible, but I dont have much of a grasp on directshow. It uses this method call currently: hr = g_graph->RenderFile( pFileName, NULL ); Looking at the playcap example in the sdk which can display the web cam feed in a window, I see that it uses hr = g_pCapture->RenderStream (&PIN_CATEGORY_PREVIEW, &MEDIATYPE_Video, pSrcFilter, NULL, NULL)); to display the web cam stream. pSrcFilter is an IBaseFilter. • Embedded quicktime video pause on click how to prevent?

  I embedded a quicktime video in firefox. It works, but i would like to prevent the users to stop the video by clicking on it with the left mouse button. Reading the apple documentation i didn't find any answear. I came up with a workaround, i just put an almost invisible div over the whole video. The workaround works in firefox for os X, but oddly does not for the same version of firefox in windows. I would appreciate a way, workaround or not, to achive this at least in the windows/firefox environment. Thanks!

• 501 Error during Libjingle PCP on Amazone EC2 running Openfire

  I am trying to implement Google's Libjingle (version: 0.6.14) PCP example and I am getting a 501: feature not implemented error during execution. Specifically, the error occurs after each "account" has connected, been authenticated and began communicating with the other. An abbreviated log of the interaction is provided at the end. I have set up my own jabber server (using OpenFire on an Amazon EC2 server), have opened all of the necessary ports and have added each "account" to the other's roster. The server has been set to allow for file transfers. My being new to working with servers, I am not sure why this error is occur and how to go about fixing it. Thanks in advance, AeroBuffalo P.S. For all these changes, I would really like to be able test it immediately and see if the change had any positive or negative effect. I am just wondering if there was some way of doing immediate testing using some simulator instead of having to wait for Google to discover and index it - which could take a long time.
