• Joomla url issue with sh404SEF

  it's couple of months I've been using SH404SEF With my site. But in my site I'm getting url's in the form: http://www.downloadformsindia.com/Income-Tax-Forms/all-income-tax-return-itr-forms-2010-2011.html?task=view If I remove this suffix(?task=view), it takes us to the same page. I had raised this issue in SH404SEF forum, and I was told that this data is taken as parameter by search engines hence ignored. I want to redirect using RewriteMatch in .htaccess all such url's to the url's without ?task=view ones : ....downloadformsindia.com/Income-Tax-Forms/all-income-tax-return-itr-forms-2010-2011.html?task=view to be redirected to http://www.downloadformsindia.com/Income-Tax-Forms/all-income-tax-return-itr-forms-2010-2011.html So my question is: Will this redirection create 404's in the Google webmaster. I've thousand's of pages in the site

• Image caching when rendering the same images on different pages

  I'm told to think about caching of images that will be displayed on the page. The images will be repeated throughout the website on different pages and I'm told to figure out the best way to cache these images. There could be few to dozen of images on single page. Here's few questions: Will browser caching work to display the same images across different web pages? Should I rather store images in stringified form in a memory instead, using JavaScript arrays? Store them on hard drive using 'localStorage'? What would be easiest yet best option for this? Are there any other alternatives? How to force cache? Any other information would be greatly appreciated...

As you can see I have a button1 on my form. When I click it I want it to display to me the structure of the table I selected in my treeview (a treeview node). Not too many details, just the name of the columns in my table, type of columns, primary keys. I've tried to follow many tutorials but I can t seem to manage it.

  this is my sql table structure create table cottonpurchase ( slipNo int null, purchasedate datetime, farmercode int , farmername varchar (100), villagename varchar (100), basicprice int null, premium int null, totalamountpaid int null, weight int null, totalamountbasic int null, totalamountpremium int null, Yeildestimates int null ) I want to fill in the null values in my sql with actual values and not leave them null but I want to do that from my winforms app form! But if I do that it just adds a new record when what I want is for it to update the record which has, for example, farmercode = 2, farmername = blaah, and so on. I also want to enter this in the same records as in farmercode = 2 and the corresponding corresponding basic price = ... , everytime i do it it ends up making a new record and not in the existing one.

• Why does the use of interface-based programming appear to be limited to behaviour?

  I have been doing a little thinking about inheritance vs. realization vs. composition. I am not about to post the whole detail here. So I was wondering, when are not talking about supporting unit testing: Why does interface-based programming seem to focus upon the grouping of common behaviour, e.g., IPettable (for an animal), IEditable (for a user control), ISubmitable (for a form), etc. Why does the use of interface-based programming appear to be limited to behaviour when we could pragmatically group not so much on behaviour but on commonsense physical similarities which could have nothing to do with behaviour? It is not that there is some limiting feature within OOP; so how come?

• Upgrade to 13.04 was not successful. Gstreamer not working. What do?

  I finally decided to upgrade to 13.04. In the middle of the installation my computer froze completely, and so I decided to force quit. I log back on, and notice that the login says 13.04, but not everything was updated. So I run the software updater. Some of the stuff gets updated, but not everything, I suppose. I try to run Rhythmbox, but it says that it's not able to form playback, and that the Gstreamer was messed up, and to please check installation. I don't know what other bugs maybe running. That's just the first I've encountered. The software updater won't let me update anymore because it says the updates need authentication.

  I have been asked to summarise the pros and cons in connection with the choices between Microsoft Office Vs OpenOffice. I have a broad idea of what needs to be said. However I would like to open a discussion here and have a single place to go to when the time comes to give the summary to management. There are obvious points of contention: For me the lack of compliance with Group Policy is a major concern [Default save location/visibility of C:/Visibility of files and folders on the HDD] However I am sure that functionality and compatibility will be the prime mover. We are looking at making major savings by reducing our commitment to Microsoft licensing. So what are your experiences? What happens when there are no direct equivalents?   Please advise how to handle following scenario in web application. I have a drop-down which is populated using meta-data from table A. When form is submitted this drop down data is stored in table B. While displaying existing data, it is populated using data stored in table B. While copying existing data, it is copied using data stored in table B. I want to achieve following goals: While displaying existing data I must display data irrespective of current meta data (to explain, even if some options are removed from metadata I still display them). When I copy existing data only current data should be copied(that is if some options are removed from metadata I should not copy them). I understand that I can do this by scanning metadata every time I copy existing data, however if there are thousands of such drop down exist, it is definitely not desirable to scan complete metadata for every drop down. How can I handle such situation in web application?

• Website with over 1 million posts with not much textual content

  I've made a website which crawls files from all over the Internet and I feel like Google will ban me if I sent it sitemaps which contain all of these pages (1m+), because they contain only the file name/size/no of downloads and the download link(s). I'm considering this thought because I've made another website like this in the past and Google banned me after one week with the reason: "spam", even it was not (maybe somebody falsely reported me?!). Does someone have an idea about how to keep Google form banning my website? I've seen several other sites like mine and they don't get banned or... anything. And also, should I sent the sitemap or wait until Google indexes every page as it finds them? Thanks in advance :)

  The Red - Green - Refactor cycle for TDD is well established and accepted. We write one failing unit test and make it pass as simply as possible. What are the benefits to this approach over writing many failing unit tests for a class and make them all pass in one go. The test suite still protects you against writing incorrect code or making mistakes in the refactoring stage, so what's the harm? Sometimes it's easier to write all the tests first as a form of 'brain dump' to quickly write down all the expected behavior in one go.

• Help! Requesting a change of URL on Yahoo Directory!

  I submitted a couple websites on yahoo directory a month ago. For some reason, the url they listed was not the url I asked for, they listed the Japanese version instead of the submitted English version (this is a English directory so obviously it is a mistake). I requested changes and was accepted. But the reality is they promised a change but it was never really done. I contacted them again and again through the 'request a change in URL' form, but there is no answer. Is there any effective way that I can get to them? preferably a phone number or email?   Since it's introduction in Java EE 6, CDI has become a key API for the platform. CDI 1.1 was a relatively minor release included in Java EE 7 as was CDI 1.2 (to be included in GlassFish 4.0.1). We have much higher expectations from CDI 2 (projected to be included in Java EE 8) under the new leadership of Antoine Sabot-Durand. Much like we conducted the Java EE 8 survey to solidify future direction for the platform, CDI 2 is now undergoing the same effort. Towards this goal the CDI 2 leadership is now soliciting feedback on some very specific items via an open survey. Topics include the likes of Java SE bootstrap, asynchronous processing, modularity, EJB-style @Startup and @Asynchronous in CDI, configuration and CDI Lite. • HTTP resource bundling/streaming practice

  Our SPA (plain HTML and Javascript) makes use of huge volume of javascript and other resources that are downloaded via XHR. Given the sheer number of components and browser simultaneous request limits, we're thinking for ways to deliver our resources in a more efficient manner. A method we're considering is bundling several resources that logically form a coherent group into a single file; thus reducing down to only one XHR (per group). Furthermore to make it more responsive, we'd like to constantly inspect the partial responseText during the LOADING state, determining if a usable chunk (atomic resource) has already been downloaded, and make it available for deserialization/processing even before the XHR is DONE. (a stream-like experience) We're thinking surely somebody else would've considered roughly the same approach before, but haven't really come across any library/framework or container file format that is suitable for our scenario. Anybody else know of something similar?

  I have two computers that are the same at home except I have installed Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro Extended on my main computer along with the 2010 Outlook (Beta). I have issues when I log into a website that uses pop up calendars to select the date. I pasted it below. I checked my other computer and it is fine. I've checked the Java setting and they are correct. I am at a loss. Any suggestions? • Retrieve the coordinates of the *occluding* (closest/drawn) pixels during 3D overlap, using OpenGL?

  Hi, Sorry if the question is not worded well, I'm a new to both 3D and OpenGL. How could I go about obtaining the 3D coordinates of the occluding object, at the point where occlusion is happening (i.e. the 'intersection' of the object in front/closest to the screen)? Just to offer a [very] rudimentary, visual, example, if you were to form an index-finger cross, with your right hand closest to your face, I'd like to know the coordinates of the part of your right finger which obscures the other finger (obviously back within the OpenGL context - no jokers ;-) ). If there is a way to find out both about the occluder (hider) and the occluded (hidden) objects in OpenGL, then that would be of great use, also. Cheers Rich

• ssh login information

  As the admin of my machine, I want users to be able to log into my computer with ssh, but I'm looking for a graphical way to be notified that a user is connected at the moment. If multiple users are connected, I want a list of connected users, their location, name, etc. This could be in the form of a forceCommand and 'alert' command when someone logs in, plus a icon saying how many people are connected right now in the notification bar, with the option to click on it to have more information about these users. Is there such a tool available in ubuntu, and if not, how to do it (I'm guessing it's not that difficult and could be done with under ten bash command lines) ?
