    I'm designing a web application. I was wondering if it was feasible to design a php front end (using some php framework e.g. CakePHP), which stores and retrieves data to display to the user. Then develop a java backend which listens to the database for changes, and depending on what was changed, performs some actions and updates the database. Any thoughts on this type of implementation would be appreciated.

    I have a tableview that my app shows when it loads, I would like to somehow put a banner at the bottom that if connceted to the internet will check my server for any new image files and if there are it will replace the current one and if not it will just leave it. That way I can constantly display messages to my users - sort of like in Doodle Jump. How could I achieve this? Thanks

    I have a query which returns multiple columns from the database using LINQ var donors = from d2 in db.Donors where d2.Status == "Pending" select new { donorID = d2.donorID, bloodGroup = d2.bloodGroup, contactNo = d2.contactMobile, status = d2.Status }; now I want to display the results in different Labels accessing one column value from donors resultset. ex: Label1.Text = donorID; Label2.Text = bloodGroup; ...and so on please help me achieve this.

    I want to display the linklist widget only on a certain category. The current way the sidebar is fetched is: if (!function_exists('dynamic_sidebar') || !dynamic_sidebar(1)) Which doesnt give me a say in the calling of the links widget. If i put an if clause there, then the rest of the widgets dont get loaded. So i either need to customize the links widget it self or find a way to call the links widget directly? And how do i check which category i'm on?
