• Is the console command cd a wildcard of sorts? [closed]

  I was wondering while developing some application (though this is not a development question) if the cd command used in Windows is a wildcard or cross-platform command of sorts. I looked up on table with comands for Unix/Linux and MAC OS X and it turns out that it seems to be there. I am not a multi-os user, so I ask if anyone with experience in different OSes can tell me: If this command really exists and works If it has the same functionality (change directory) If there are any problems with its use If in any OS there is another command-line command that does the same in a better/more elaborate/more frequetly used way. I have time zone value of the User is stored in DB with this format (-05:00,1), where -5.00 represents EST time zone value and the 1 indicates that this time zone follows daylight saving (if 0 not a daylight saving zone). • Can I delay window.open()?

  So here is my basic problem. The user clicks the save button. Use Ajax to save the content via code-behind. THEN open a new window that loads the content from the DB.   Hi, A module level dictionary 'd' and is accessed by different threads/requests in a django web application. I need to update 'd' every minute with a new data and the process takes about 5 seconds. What could be best solution where I want the users to get either the old value or the new value of d and nothing in between. I can think of a solution where a temp dictionary is constructed with a new data and assigned to 'd' but not sure how this works! Appreciate your ideas. Thanks
