    What is the best way to download an mp3 file in java (on Android sdk)? http://developer.android.com/reference/java/net/package-summary.html Should I be using sockets? If so - what kind of "Stream" reader should I use? I have also read something about "intents" - is this something that is applicable here? I am also curious as to what should one do if connection gets interrupted - can I resume the download somehow or restart it? Any tips?

  • ASP.NET MVC Project and the App_Code folder

    How come App_Code is not a choices in the Add ASP.NET Folder submenu in the VS solution explorer? I realize you can create one yourself manually by just renaming a New Folder, but what is the rational here? Is this not where you are supposed to put "utility" or "service layer" type classes? On a MVC project side note. I do like the fact that there is a reference to System.Configuration out-of-the-box unlike the default ASP.NET Web Form Projects.

  • "IntelliTrace debugging not available" error in Visual Studio 2010

    In XP 32bit Visual Studio 2010 I get the error below when I start debugging with IntelliTrace enabled. Doesn't IntelliTrace work in Windows XP or is there some setting which causes this error? UPDATE: The error occurs when I choose the second option to add call information in the IntelliTrace settings. There's nothing in the event log about this error. The question now is how to find out why VS is having trouble adding call information.

But color scheme in new VS2010 is really ugly, so the first thing i'd like to do after install is to change its color palette.     I have a small windows client application data bound to a single table backend. I created a DataSet using the wizard in VS 2005, and it automatically create the underlying adapter and a GridView. I also have a RichText control and bound it to this DataSet. All well so far but, I need to replace certain characters(~) on the fly before the data is shown in the RichTextbox. Can this be done.

    Running through an iPhone SDK book and one of the examples has me creating a table and then later adding a UISegmentedControl to the table for sorting. I dutifully did this in IB, and it looks great: When I run it in the simulator or my phone, it's totally squished: The buttons work perfectly, it's just they are not sizing according to their content.     Hi all, I've got an e-shop on a virtual server that's been used as a subdirectory for the last few years, but now I'm finally giving the VS it's own domain name. What I really need is visitors to the old URL to be transparently (and 301) redirected to the new URL with everything after /eshop/ maintained and apended to the new host. I.e. http://www.example.com/eshop/page.php - http://www.newdomain.com/page.php Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    I need to tunnel the connections (mostly TCP) made by an application through Socks5, SSH or HTTPS. So far, I've found 3 ways to do this: api hooks, winsock lsp and a driver. I'm looking for advice on the best way to handle this, and any recommendations on SDK's that could abstract this task for me (free/open-source preferred, but commercial ones are welcome as long as the price is not high for a one-man-starting-company to afford). ps.
