  • Jquery call using .load not found.

    Hi, I am using jquery .load to call an action but it is not found. This is because the production website url is different to dev url. function ProjectChange() { var projid = $("input[name='ProjectLink']:checked").val(); $("#documentList").load("/Home/GetDocumentList/", { page: 0, projectid: projid }, LoadComplete); } But i dont want to hard code the url in to the action call.   • Why won't "!important" override ":first-line"?

    I am trying to do the tutorial in Chapter 6 of the 2nd edition of "CSS: The Missing Manual", and I've run into an issue I'm trying to understand. I have one style that looks like this: #main p:first-line { color: #999999; font-weight: bold; } Later I have another style that looks like this: #main p.byline { color: #00994D !important; font-size: 1.6em; margin: 5px 0 25px 50px; } I am confused because the second one won't override the color choice in the first one despite the fact that the second one has "!important" in it. I put both classes into an online specificity calculator, and the second one comes out being more specific, so I'm doubly confused. By the way, the inclusion of "!important" is the work-around suggested in the errata for the book. Odd that it still doesn't work! First I thought about a regular Client/Server app but now I think best would be if the app could act as HTTP server and send HTML to connected browsers. Does anybody know if there is a library available to add HTTP server functionality to an app? Ideally it would be able to serve ASP.NET content.

    What would cause a brief flash of white screen while a PHP page is loading? I just noticed it today on a WordPress theme that I am building and am wondering if this is a cause for concern. As a page loads, the screen will flash white before showing the page content. Sometimes this happens on every single page load, other times it only happens intermittently.

  • CSS: Aligning problem with rounded corners in IE 6/7 but ok in IE8/ Firefox etc

    Hi there, can anyone help? I have a problem aligning rounded corners in IE6/7. Basically everything seems to work in Firefox / IE8 but in IE6/7 the left / center / and right divs get misaligned. This basically shows exactly what i am refering to. here is the example in IE8 and everything works ok http://es.drop.io/ern0fye/asset/ie8-jpg And here is the problem (this example is running in IE8 with compat mode set to IE7) http://es.drop.io/ern0fye/asset/ie7-jpg I seem to remember there being a bug in IE6/7 with lineheight or similar but i don't recall exactly. I will paste the CSS and HTML below it is very very simple. Basically there is a left div that holds the left corner image and center div which has a background of RED which is the same as the corner images and finally a right div which holds the right corner image. I would appreciate any input anyone has. Thanks in advance.   • jQuery show/hide menu problem

    Hi folks, I am encountering an odd behavior using jQuery to show/hide a menu. I have an absolutely positioned div which contains an "activator " div (relatively positioned) which I want to reveal a menu on moseover. Menu div is contained by the activator div and is also relatively positioned. I was working on assumption that since it would be contained by the activator that rolloff would not be triggered when the mouse travels over into the reveled menu. When you roll onto the revealed menu however show/hide starts pulsing and does so a second or so even after the mouse clears the area.     I drew a small (horizontal / in width) svg to be the background of my website's navigation. My website's navigation takes place a 100% of the browser's viewport and I want the svg image to fill that 100% space. So, using css I set the background of the navigation (.nav) to nav.svg but then I saw (whenI opened the html file in a browser) that the svg was not the full-width of the nav, but at the small width I drew it at. How can I get the SVG to stretch and fill the entire width of the navigation (100% of the page) ?   • WPF: How to specify units in Dialog Units?

    i'm trying to figure out how to layout a simple dialog in WPF using the proper dialog units (DLUs). i spent about two hours dimensioning this sample dialog box from Windows Vista with the various dlu measurements. Can someone please give the corresponding XAML markup that generates this dialog box? (Image Link) Now admittedly i know almost nothing about WPF XAML. Every time i start, i get stymied because i cannot figure out how to place any control. It seems that everything in WPF must be contained on a panel of some kind. There's StackPanels, FlowPanels, DockPanel, Grid, etc. If you don't have one of these then it won't compile. The only XAML i've been able to come up with (uing XAMLPad) so far: <DockPanel xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml"> <Image Width="23" /> <Label>Are you sure you want to move this file to the Recycle Bin?</Label> <Image Width="60" /> <Label>117__6.jpg</Label> <Label>Type: ACDSee JPG Image</Label> <Label>Rating: Unrated</Label> <Label>Dimensions: 1072 × 712</Label> <Button Content="Yes" Width="50" Height="14"/> <Button Content="Cancel" Width="50" Height="14"/> </DockPanel> Which renders as a gaudy monstrosity. None of the controls are placed or sized right. i cannot figure out how to position controls in a window, nor size them properly. Can someone turn that screenshot into XAML? I have tried those actions: downloaded OpenCV 2.4.2 used CMake on opencv folder using Visual Studio 10 and Visual Studio 10 Win64 compiler built Debug and Release version with Visual Studio first without any other option and then with D_SCL_SECURE=1 specified for every project changed Matlab's mexopts.bat and adding new lines refering to library and include (see bottom for mexopts.bat content) with Visual Studio 10 compiler tried to compile a simple file with a OpenCV library inclusion and all goes well. try to compile something that actually uses OpenCV commands and get errors.
