• Add a Session Variable or Custom field to the Elmah Error Log table

  I want to add my own session variable to elmah error log table and display it. I already have modified the source code and added the new fields to Error.cs and other fields but I don't know but when I assign an HttpContext.Current.Session["MyVar"].tostring() value to my field in the constructor it stops logging exceptions and does not log any exception. I just need to get the value of the session variable is there other way for this. I read a post which he added fields for the email but it does not say where exactly should I get the session value.

• Building a blog: what's standard?

  I'm generally pretty new at web stuff. I wanted to build a blog from scratch to get some practice. Few questions: Do most people add new entries of a blog by directly editing the html or is there a more dynamic way of doing this that is used more frequently? I'm assuming you can store the entries in some type of database and then display them via javascript or something similar? What are the most frequently used tools for what I'm describing? I know its about as simple as it gets, but like most things, I just need some tips to get started. Thanks!

• Segue Popover won't behave properly

  I'm trying to use Segue to present then dismiss a Popover view a UIBarButtonItem is clicked. I've created a generic Segue that is not anchored to anything but the view and given it a name I've Anchored the UIBarButtonItem in the Interface Builder to: - (IBAction)clickedSettings:(id)sender { if(self.popSegue != nil) { [self.popSegue.popoverController dismissPopoverAnimated:YES]; } else { //Current says only a button may [self performSegueWithIdentifier:@"Settings" sender:sender]; } } But when ever i click the button to display the Segue it gives me an error: Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInternalInconsistencyException', reason: 'UIStoryboardPopoverSegue must be presented from a bar button item or a view.' • Using HandVU with OpenCV on Mac OS X 10.6.3

  Hi, I've tried to user HandVU with OpenCV but when I tried to run "hvOpenCV config/default.conductor" I get a "Segmentation fault".   I have multiple pages with java applet written with SWT.   You can use the "Data View" webpart to take data from a database call, then you can edit the XSLT manually to make it look and do whatever you want, within the scope of that data and XSLT capabilities. Is there a web part that allows me to do the same thing, but with data that is received by a connected webpart source rather than a database set? For example: I'd like to be able to pull in a Data View webpart that queries a bunch of data and makes it available all over the page. Then, I would like to hide that Data View. Once it is hidden, I'd like to be able to take another customizable webpart and pull a field (or multiple fields if possible) from the Data View webpart via a webpart connection. This would allow me to display various fields in creative formats without having to call the same query multiple times on the same page by different webparts. Is there an in house webpart that will allow me to do this?

  Hi, I have a long text string (including \n newline charactersthat I feed into a UILabel for display. The UILabel is dynamically setup to provide sufficient space foor the text.   I know MS T-SQL does not support regular expression, but I need similar functionality. Here's what I'm trying to do: I have a varchar table field which stores a breadcrumb, like this: /ID1:Category1/ID2:Category2/ID3:Category3/ Each Category name is preceded by its Category ID, separated by a colon. I'd like to select and display these breadcrumbs but I want to remove the Category IDs and colons, like this: /Category1/Category2/Category3/ Everything between the leading slash (/) up to and including the colon (:) should be stripped out. I don't have the option of extracting the data, manipulating it externally, and re-inserting back into the table; so I'm trying to accomplish this in a SELECT statement. I also can't resort to using a cursor to loop through each row and clean each field with a nested loop, due to the number of rows returned in the SELECT. Can this be done? Thanks all - Jay

• AJAX get data from large HTML page as the large HTML page loads

  Not entirely sure whether this has a name but basically I have a large HTML page that is generated from results in a db. So viewing the HTML page (which is a report) in a browser directly does not display all contents immediately but displays what it has and additional HTML is added as the results from the DB are retrieved... Is there a way I can make an AJAX request to this HTML page and as opposed to waiting until the whole page (report) is ready, I can start processing the response as the HTML report is loaded? Or is there another way of doing it? Atm I make my AJAX response it just sits there for a minute or two until the HTML page is complete... If context is of any use: The HTML report is generated by a Java servlet and the page making the AJAX call is a JSP page. Unfortunately I can't very easily break the report up because it is generated by BIRT (Eclipse reporting extension). Thanks in advance.

There,when we jump to any page, you will not find half displayed line(i.e only upper part of the letters visible and lower part will be in the next page) or half images where the other part in the next page.   Hi I'm trying to take a screen shot of an applet running inside a browser. The applet is using JOGL (OpenGL for Java) to display 3D models. (1) The screen shots always come out either black or white.The current solution uses the usual GDI calls. Screen shots of applets not running OpenGL are fine. • Fastest way to convert datatable to generic list

  I have a data tier select method that returns a datatable. It's called from a business tier method that should then return a strongly typed generic List. What I want to do is very similar (but not the same as) this question: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/208532/how-do-you-convert-a-datatable-into-a-generic-list What's different is that I want the list to contain strongly-typed objects rather than datarows (also, I don't have linq avaiable here yet). I'm concerned about performance. The business tier method will in turn be called from the presentation tier, and the results will be iterated for display to the user. It seems very wasteful to add an extra iteration at the business tier, only do it again right away for the presentation, so I want this to be as quick as possible. This is a common task, so I'm really looking for a good pattern that can be repeated over and over.

• ASP.NET Session does not timeout on using ReportViewer Control.

  Hi, We are using the ReportViewer control to display SSRS reports in our ASP.NET application. On pages where we use the ReportViewer control the session does not time out. The reason for this is the ReportViewer control emits a "setTimeOut" javascript function which reads the Session timeout value from the web.config and pings the server 1 minute before the configured value and keeps the session alive. For example, if the session timeout value is 5 minutes, the ReportViewer pings the server on the 4th minute. We used fidldler to verify this behavior. In addition, if we remove the ReportViewer control from the page, the sessions times out as expected. We also tried using the ReportViewer control in a sample application and observed the same behaviour. Has anyone faced this issue? Regards, Saurabh

  Does anyone have any experience with the RadWindow wpf control from Telerik? My problem is that when I open a RadWindow and minimize my application then when I maximize the application the RadWindow is not visible. I can use alt+tab to get the RadWindow in front again, but I would really like to avoid having to do this. I'm doing the following to display the RadWindow: this.theWindow.ShowDialog(); Where theWindow is an instance of a class that inherits from RadWindow. Any ideas?

Like - if I am to make a plugin which will post links to Twitter after a new post is made, I would like to give ability to user to select if he wants to tweet that particular post's link to Twitter. I want to display a check box somewhere in the page which says - "Post this on Twitter" and then check for it and make a tweet. I have seen some plugins which do this. But can't remember which they were. Can someone please help me out?

  I can't seem to get my ImageView to display its source image in its original size. The ImageView looks like this: <ImageView android:id="@+id/Logo" android:src="@drawable/logo" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" > </ImageView> The source image is 140 pixels wide, yet on the Nexus One's screen, which is 480 pixels wide it uses up half of the width. Using absolute values in px or dp for the width and height changes nothing. The image also looks very antialiased from the upscaling. Why is this happening and how can I prevent it?

  I have this so far: chrome.tabs.getSelected(null, function(tab) { var title = tab.title; var btn = '<a href="' + tab.url + '" onclick="save(\'' + title + '\');"> ' + title + '</a>'; if(tab.url.match('/http:\/\/www.mydomain.com\/version.php/i')) { document.getElementById('link').innerHTML = '<p>' + btn + '</p>'; } }); Basically it should match the domain within this: http://www.mydomain.com/version.php?* Anything that matches that even when it includes something like version.php?ver=1, etc When I used the code above of mine, it doesn't display anything, but when I remove the if statement, it's fine but it shows on other pages which it shouldn't only on the matched URL.

  I want to get some trick for this problem. I have my table like this Product (uuid, Name) and one datagridview to display this information ( dataGridView.DataSouce = Products which is assign on runtime) My problem is that I want to have "No" column on dataGridView which will show like below No | Name 1 | ProdctA 2 | ProductB 3 | ProductC What I do right now is create a "No" field on my product Model, and loop through all the row and assign value to it. I think this is not a good solution. Hope anyone can suggest better solution. Thanks,

• How to launch activity from android home screen widget

  Hi all, I am desperately trying to get my head wrapped around how to implement home screen widgets. Right now, I (finally) was able to get a button on my widget respond to a button press setting up an intent filter in the manifest. However, I cannot for the life of me figure out how to launch an activity when the button is pressed. Basically, here's the code i have: @Override public void onReceive(Context context, Intent intent) { super.onReceive(context, intent); if(intent.getAction().equals("com.bic.search.searchWidget.CLICK")) { Toast.makeText(context, "It works!!", Toast.LENGTH_SHORT).show(); } } What I really want to do, though, is start a new activity, not display a toast message. I know it has something to do with pending intents, but I can't figure out how to get that to work. Any help and sample code would be appreciated. Thanks a ton to whoever answers this!

  Hi, Can we change the width of the datagrid column dynamically by clicking on the border of the column in order to display the complete string which is too long to be displayed and needs to be scrolled ? If so, How ? Also, how can we ensure that the column width changes dynamically based on the number of characters / length of string; since many a times the data is too long to be displayed. Can we set the column width to take the length of data into consideration before displaying onto the datagrid ?

• Tips on implementing a custom UITextView interface on the iPhone?

  I am trying to implement a control to edit text that will display the text in multiple colors. None of the solutions I have attempted yet have been good enough. UITextView cannot accomplish this. All of the text must be the same color. Using CoreGraphics to draw the text does not allow the text to be selected. Using a UIWebView, DIV and PRE tags cannot be set to contentEditable on Mobile Safari. Currently playing with using an off-screen TEXTAREA and an on-screen DIV to show the rendered text. This works pretty well, except supporting all of these at the same time seems impossible: click-to-type, click-to-move-cursor, click-and-hold-select/copy/paste. Anyone have any tips on this predicament? I've been trying to find any preexisting library out there that will accomplish this in a good way, to no luck. I'm open to any ideas!

• didSelectRowAtIndexPath TableView Popover Issue

  I've tried a lot of different code examples including just brute force try this try that but, stumped. The popover left arrow seems to display just fine if the first row is displayed at the very top of the table view but, when the table scrolls down the popover left arrow doesn't align correctly with the table row selected. Solutions or suggestions would be most appreciated.
