• Issue intercepting property in Silverlight application

  I am using Ninject as DI container in a Silverlight application. Now I am extending the application to support interception and started integrating DynamicProxy2 extension for Ninject. I am trying to intercept call to properties on a ViewModel and ending up getting following exception: “Attempt to access the method failed: System.Reflection.Emit.DynamicMethod..ctor(System.String, System.Type, System.Type[], System.Reflection.Module, Boolean)” This exception is thrown when invocation.Proceed() method is called.   Hi all, I want to reduce postback in one of my application page and use ajax instead. I used the WebMethod to do so.. I have a static WebMethod that needs to access the session variables and modify. and on the client side, i am calling this method using jQuery.   I am trying to use ORM to access data stored, in three mysql tables 'users', 'items', and a pivot table for the many-many relationship: 'user_item' I followed the guidance from http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1946357/kohana-3-orm-read-additional-columns-in-pivot-tables and tried $user = ORM::factory('user',1); $user->items->find_all(); $user_item = ORM::factory('user_item', array('user_id' => $user, 'item_id' => $user->items)); if ($user_item->loaded()) { foreach ($user_item as $pivot) { print_r($pivot); } } But I get the SQL error: "Unknown column 'user_item.id' in 'order clause' [ SELECT user_item.* FROM user_item WHERE user_id = '1' AND item_id = '' ORDER BY user_item.id ASC LIMIT 1 ]" Which is clearly erroneous because Kohana is trying to order the elements by a column which doesn't exist: user_item.id. This id doesnt exist because the primary keys of this pivot table are the foreign keys of the two other tables, 'users' and 'items'. Trying to use: $user_item = ORM::factory('user_item', array('user_id' => $user, 'item_id' => $user->items)) ->order_by('item_id', 'ASC'); Makes no difference, as it seems the order_by() or any sql queries are ignored if the second argument of the factory is given. Another obvious error with that query is that the item_id = '', when it should contain all the elements. So my question is how can I get access to the data stored in the pivot table, and actually how can I get access to the all items held by a particular user as I even had problems with that? Thanks

These are the details of the error: System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Cannot open database "WSS_Content_8887ac57951146a290ca134778ddc3f8" requested by the login. The login failed. Login failed for user 'NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE'. Does anyone have any idea why this error happens? Why does the web service run fine inside Visual Studio 2008, but not when running stand-alone? I checked and in both cases, the username variable has the same value (domain\myusername). Thank you very much.

• Extracting [] elements from form collection - mvc - should use icollection but have mix of types

  hi there. have looked at Phil Haacks project on books at http://haacked.com/archive/2008/10/23/model-binding-to-a-list.aspx which has been useful, but I have a mix of data types. I use a modelview so that i can have a mix of objects, in this case: Order (ie order.id, order.date etc), Customer, SoilSamplingOrder and a list of SoilSamplingSubJobs which is like this [0].id, [0].field, [1].id, [1].field etc Perhaps I should be using ICollection instead of List? I had problems getting UpdateModel to work so I used an extract from collection method. the first 4 method calls : orderRepository.FindOrder(id); etc give the model the original to be edited. but after this point i'm a little lost in how to update the subjobs. I hope i have delineated enough to make sense of the problem.   Hi, I am thinking about implementing a templating engine using only the plain C#/.NET 4 syntax with the benefit of static typing. Then on top of that templating language we could create Domain Specific Languages (let's say HTML4, XHTML, HTML5, RSS, Atom, Multipart Emails and so on). One of the best DSLs in .NET 4 (if not only one) is SharpDOM. It implements HTML-specific DSL. Looking at SharpDOM, I am really impressed of what you can do using .NET (4). So I believe there are some not-so-well-known ways for implementing custom DSLs in .NET 4. Possibly not as well as in Ruby, but still. So my the question would be: what are the C# (4) specific syntax features that can be used for implementing custom DSLs? Examples I can think of right now: // HTML - doesn't look tooo readable :) div(clas: "head", ul(clas: "menu", id: "main-menu", () => { foreach(var item in allItems) { li(item.Name) } }) // See how much noise it has with all the closing brackets? ) // Plain text (Email or something) - probably too simple Line("Dear {0}", user.Name); Line("You have been kicked off from this site"); For me it is really hard to come up with the syntax with least amount of noise.   Hi all, I have a piece of code that I don't know how to improve it. I have two entities: EntityP and EntityC. EntityP is the parent of EntityC. It is 1 to many relationship. EntityP has a property depending on a property of all its attached EntityC. I need to load a list of EntityP with the property set correctly. So I wrote a piece of code to get the EntityP List first.It's called entityP_List. Then as I wrote below, I loop through the entityP_List and for each of them, I query the database with a "any" function which will eventually be translated to "NOT EXIST" sql query. The reason I use this is that I don't want to load all the attached entityC from database to memory, because I only need the aggregation value of their property. But the problem here is, the looping will query the databae many times, for each EntityP! So I am wondering if anybody can help me improve the code to query the database only once to get all the EntityP.IsAll_C_Complete set, without load EntityC to memory. foreach(EntityP p in entityP_List) { isAnyNotComoplete = entities.entityC.Any(c => c.IsComplete==false && c.parent.ID == p.ID); p.IsAll_C_Complete = !isAnyNotComoplete; } Thank you very much!

• ASP.NET putting dynamic controls on page in reverse messes up events

  I have this weird problem when putting textboxes on the page in reverse. The whole event system is messed up. Changing one textbox fires TextChange on all textboxes. I can fix this by putting the controls in a list first and then call add while iterating trough the list in reverse. But i just want to know why this fails. • C# LINQ to XML missing space character.

  I write an XML file "by hand", (i.e. not with LINQ to XML), which sometimes includes an open/close tag containing a single space character. Upon viewing the resulting file, all appears correct, example below... <Item> <ItemNumber>3</ItemNumber> <English> </English> <Translation>Ignore this one. Do not remove.</Translation> </Item> ... the reasons for doing this are various and irrelevent, it is done. Later, I use a C# program with LINQ to XML to read the file back and extract the record... XElement X_EnglishE = null; // This is CRAZY foreach (XElement i in Records) { X_EnglishE = i.Element("English"); // There is only one damned record! } string X_English = X_EnglishE.ToString(); ... and test to make sure it is unchanged from the database record. I detect a change, when processing Items where the field had the single space character... +E+ Text[3] English source has been altered: Was: >>> <<< Now: >>><<< ... the and <<< parts I added to see what was happening, (hard to see space characters). I have fiddled around with this but can't see why this is so. It is not absolutely critical, as the field is not used, (yet), but I cannot trust C# or LINQ or whatever is doing this, if I do not understand why it is so. So what is doing that and why?

  Hello, I need to convert some code done by someone else, to work in my mvc model It is using some functions like EOD that I don't understand. Does that still work in a class? Primarely, my question focusus on the json output. The old code does not use the php json_encode function, but outputs it directly like this ?> { "username": "<?php echo $_SESSION['username'];?>", "items": [ <?php echo $items;?> ] } <?php I would do it like this, but I need to be sure it's right for the items part header('Content-type: application/json'); $output = array("username"=> isset( $_SESSION['username'] ) ? $_SESSION['username'] : "?", "items"=>$items ); $this->content = json_encode($output); This is some background on how the $items is made. An item is stored like this: $_SESSION['chatHistory'][$_POST['to']] .= <<<EOD { "s": "1", "f": "{$to}", "m": "{$messagesan}" }, EOD; and it is put in the $items variable like this $items = ''; if ( !empty($_SESSION['openChatBoxes'] ) ) { foreach ( $_SESSION['openChatBoxes'] as $chatbox => $void ) { $items .= $this->chatBoxSession($chatbox); } } //The chatBoxSession() function takes an item from the $_SESSION['chatHistory'] array and returns it. I hope this was somewhat clear enough? The php manual warns that in some cases you don't get an array output, instead you get an object. So, with the EOD syntax, I am not really sure.   I have one bit of denormalized data used for performance reasons and I'm trying to maintain the data with an NHibernate event listener rather than a trigger. I'm not convinced this is the best approach, but I'm neck deep into it and I want to figure this out before moving on. Like on my hotmail on the computer i get the html but on my iphone i get the plain one. Why is that? and like that wasn't enough The mail wont deliver to some mails like any .pl email. Now here is where I am thinking that it might be a reverse DNS setup thing on my windows server 2008 issue + some company mails, it becomes spam, i had same issue with hotmail but that was solved when I added the plain. Anybody have had the problem before? I am very thankful for any answer I get.. thanks

• Java - Save video stream from Socket to File

  I use my Android application for streaming video from phone camera to my PC Server and need to save them into file on HDD. So, file created and stream successfully saved, but the resulting file can not play with any video player (GOM, KMP, Windows Media Player, VLC etc.) - no picture, no sound, only playback errors. I tested my Android application into phone and may say that in this instance captured video successfully stored on phone SD card and after transfer it to PC played witout errors, so, my code is correct. In the end, I realized that the problem in the video container: data streamed from phone in MP4 format and stored in *.mp4 files on PC, and in this case, file may be incorrect for playback with video players. Can anyone suggest how to correctly save streaming video to a file? There is my code that process and store stream data (without errors handling to simplify): // getOutputMediaFile() returns a new File object DataInputStream in = new DataInputStream (server.getInputStream()); FileOutputStream videoFile = new FileOutputStream(getOutputMediaFile()); int len; byte buffer[] = new byte[8192]; while((len = in.read(buffer)) != -1) { videoFile.write(buffer, 0, len); } videoFile.close(); server.close(); Also, I would appreciate if someone will talk about the possible "pitfalls" in dealing with the conservation of media streams.   I think this is sufficiently different from similar questions to warrant a new one. I have the following regex to match the beginning hyperlink tags in HTML, including the http(s):// part in order to avoid mailto: links <a[^>]*?href=[""'](?<href>\\b(https?)://[^\[\]""]+?)[""'][^>]*?> When I run this through Nregex (with escaping removed) it matches correctly for the following test cases: <a href="http://www.bbc.co.uk"> <a href="http://bbc.co.uk"> <a href="https://www.bbc.co.uk"> <a href="mailto:[email protected]"> However when I run this in my C# code it fails. Here is the matching code: public static IEnumerable<string> GetUrls(this string input, string matchPattern) { var matches = Regex.Matches(input, matchPattern, RegexOptions.Compiled | RegexOptions.IgnoreCase); foreach (Match match in matches) { yield return match.Groups["href"].Value; } } And my tests: @"<a href=""https://www.bbc.co.uk"">bbc</a>".GetUrls(StringExtensions.HtmlUrlRegexPattern).Count().ShouldEqual(1); @"<a href=""mailto:[email protected]"">bbc</a>".GetUrls(StringExtensions.HtmlUrlRegexPattern).Count().ShouldEqual(0); The problem seems to be in the \\b(https?):// part which I added, removing this passes the normal URL test but fails the mailto: test. • jQuery ui datepicker positioning problem when scrolling down webpage

  I have a webpage that uses multiple instances of the jQuery ui datepicker. My webpage will display ~80 records which extends beyond a single screenshot. <% foreach (var record in Model) { %> <div class="recordname"><%=record.name%></div> <%=Html.TextBox("DateTimePicker", null, new { @class = "date-pick" } )%> // <-- additional html here --> <% } %> I have set the defaults of my datepicker as follows: $(".date-pick").each(function() { $(this).datepicker({ dateFormat: 'dd M yy', showOn: 'button', buttonImage: '/Images/datepickericon.png', buttonImageOnly: true }); }); When the page first loads, if I click any datepicker icon that is visible on screen (i.e. without scrolling) then the datepicker appears as expected. However, if I scroll down the page and then click a datepicker icon, the datepicker does not appear in the screen window but is instead rendered right back near the top of the screen. Any ideas how to solve this? I am using: IE7 asp.net mvc jquery.ui.datepicker.js (UI/API/1.8/Datepicker)

• WordPress Conditional: Only show if current page title is equal to post meta

  Hey, I am calling a bunch of posts under a certain post type in WordPress which works but I am trying to add a conditional that will check first if those post's custom meta field (labeled "disc") is equal to the current post's title. I'm trying to use a ViewModel to pull and provide a dictionary to a drop down list inside a strongly typed View: <%@ Page Title="" Language="C#" MasterPageFile="~/Views/Shared/Site.Master" Inherits="Notebook.ViewModels.CorporationJoinViewModel" %> ... <%: Html.DropDownListFor(c => c.CorpDictionary.Keys, new SelectList(Model.CorpDictionary, "Value", "Key"))%> I'm getting the error CS1061: 'object' does not contain a definition for 'CorpDictionary' and no extension method 'CorpDictionary' accepting a first argument of type 'object' could be found and the relevant bit of my ViewModel public class CorporationJoinViewModel { DB _db = new DB(); // data context public Dictionary<int, string> CorpDictionary { get { Dictionary<int, string> corporations = new Dictionary<int, string>(); int x = 0; foreach (Corporation corp in _db.Corporations) { corporations.Add(x, corp.name); } return corporations; } } I'll admit i have a pretty magical understanding of how linq is finding my ViewModel object from that lambda, and the error message is making me think it's not. Is my problem the method I'm using to pass the data? What am I missing here?

• FlashBuilder 4 and Zend Framework error

  I am trying to use adobe flash builder 4 with a php service. I had it set up an older macbook running leopard, but just tried to set it up on my new laptop running snow leopard. I did all the same steps.. set the Flex Server to be PHP, set the web root and url. Then I go to Data-Connect To PHP and point it to a php file I have in my web root. It says it needs to install Zend, and claims it does so successfully, but then when I try to continue, I get an error. I don't understand.. this same setup works on my older laptop.
