  Hi, folling this discussion and this link, I learnt that by adding document.domain = 'mydomain.com'; to the tinyMCE initializer file and tiny_mce_popup.js i can overcome the cross domain problem. I haven't tested it on a proper production server, but in my dev environment the base domain is localhost:8000 and my static files (also tinyMCE ones) are on localhost:88. Adding document.domain = 'localhost:8000'; or document.domain = 'localhost:88'; doesn't solve the problem as I get the following error: Uncaught Error: SECURITY_ERR: DOM Exception 18 Any help?   IE7/Windows XP I have a third party component in my page that does a lot of DOM manipulation to adjust itself each time the browser window is resized. Unfortunately I have little control of what it does internally and I have optimized everything else (such as callbacks and event handlers) as much as I can. I can't take the component off the flow by setting display:none because it fails measuring itself if I do so. In general, does setting visibility of the container to invisible during the resize help improve DOM rendering performance?

  I use jquery blockUI plugin (v2) and call $.blockUI when user submits a form. Web page smoothly fades out and new page appears. That's ok. But when user presses "back" button in opera/fire fox he observes fade out page with hourglass mouse cursor that is completely blocked. Chrome/IE visualize page ok. What would you suggest?   I am trying to some-how set the valid HTML tags and attributes users would be able to use in WMD Editor in my site. For example, I want to forbid the user to directly set the font size, color, typeface and so on, which is trivial to do with the default settings typing something like: <span style="font-size: 45px; color:#FF0000">Some intrusive text here</span>. I think the way to implement this is through the "wmd_options", but I have not found any documentation or reference regarding this, giving the fact that the 'Options demo' seems to be the only public documentation and it does not show how should I do what I have described above. • jQuery ajax success chaining Internet Explorer Issues

  I have a jQuery ajax function that retrieves JSON data. In the success block I call another function to parse the data and update the page. At the end of this parsing/updating function a different ajax call is made. This works perfectly in all browsers except Internet Explorer (7 and 8). The problem is Internet explorer thinks the script is taking too long to process because the success block from the first ajax call doesn't complete until the 2nd ajax call finishes. I get the message: "Stop running this script? A script on this page is causing your web browser to run slowly. If it continues to run, your computer might become unresponsive." My jQuery code: $("#id_select").bind("change", function(e){ $.ajax({ url: "/retrieve_data.js", data: {id:$(e.target).children(":selected").attr("value")}, type: "get", dataType:"json", success: function(data, status, form){ processData(data); }, error: function(response, status){ alert(response.responseText); } }); }) Any suggestions on how to get IE to stop timing out or to accomplish this task without rewriting all my jQuery functions would be appreciated.

• Async file uploads in Firefox reset on any DOM change

  I'm pretty sure this is a Firefox or flash-related bug, but I just want to check if anyone has ran into this problem or knows how to fix it. Basically, we have a multi-file upload widget for our highly dynamic web app (think Gmail). We've tried both uploadify for jQuery, and YUI uploader. We've also tried taking those out of our app interface and putting them in an iFrame. What happens is that in the event of any DOM manipulation, even if the uploader is in an iFrame, be it a tab change (in our web app) that covers the iframe temporarily, or a block, etc., the uploader will stop its current upload. In the case of YUI uploader, it fires the "contentReady" event again. This ONLY happens in Firefox. IE and Chrome are fine. In case you are wondering, we really don't have any custom needs here. Just need to have multi-upload file support, and we need to give people free reign to tab around in our interface while an upload is in progress. It seems like Yahoo! and Gmail have both solved this problem. How? What are we doing wrong?

Is there a way I can remove the pager and re-add it? Or is there some other way to achieve this?

I wrote a function that returns a CSS String as values in a object. 5px 10px returns top: 5px, right: 10px, bottom: 5px, left: 10px Now i often use the returned values to do some calculations and its not very nice to have to extract the measuring unit every time... • CustomRenderer for AutoComplete using google closure library

  I'm looking to use one of the AutoComplete subclasses(Rich,Remote,RichRemote) and I'd like to use a CustomRenderer, however I don't see instructions for this and reading the documentation/source it appears that the Remote subclass is instantiated with a renderer of "var renderer = new goog.ui.AutoComplete.Renderer();" leaving me no option to change it while instantiating. Is there a setRenderer method on the AutoComplete base class similar to that on the goog.ui.Controls classes? Thanks, Paul
