  • Frequently getting booted from Securemote VPN-1 Connection

    I connect to my office's network remotely through the Checkpoint SecuRemote E75 (R75) VPN application, but recently it's been causing me a lot of issues when connecting from home. I connect through a WRT54GL router running DD-WRT v24 firmware, so I have no clue if that affects anything. I took a dump of the logs for Checkpoint and here are the messages that populate when I get booted but I have no clue how to decipher them and my IT department is completely clueless in terms of resolving the situation. I'm thinking the router is blocking the keep alive connection or something along those lines, but I have no idea how to fix the problem.   • IIS_IUSRS group missing

    I am getting a 500.19 error when going to my site. I've tried to change the permissions on the directory but for some reason since about 2hrs ago the IIS_IUSRS group is completely gone now. I think I messed it up, how can I fix this? Update: I found the group, it just wasn't added to the inetpub folder, but now when I go to the website: www.example.com it forces you to login. I'm new to this web admin think I would GREATLY appreciate any help.

I have discovered that to enable SMB2 the following option must be set: options cifs.smb2.client.enable on Does this require a restart of cifs to take affect or just does it start working magically? Also will this change persist across a reboot?

    I've really been struggling through this. New to Java/Android. I'm writing my first app and this is the first thing that has taken me longer than a couple days of searching to figure out. Here's the setup: It's a BAC calculator / drink counter: A formula is used to calculate the BAC. Here's the forumla: Bac = ((StandardDrinks / 2) * (GenderConstant / Weight)) - (0.017 * Hours); So as you can see, being able to modify the gender and weight will produce more accurate and personalized results. So I have them as doubles: double GenderConstant = 7.5; //9 for female double Weight = 180; To change these variables I would like the person to be able to go into the settings and choose different values. I have these things set up, but not linked to the variables shown above because I cannot for the life of me figure out how. Here they are: I press the menu button and this pops up. Great. I'll click Settings. Now the preferences pops up.     I have a Belgian AZERTY keyboard on my MacBook Pro. Sadly, it appears to be impossible to use Caps Lock to type numbers — I still need to hold Shift for every number I want to type. Is it possible to change the Caps Lock key’s function to Shift Lock so that it affects the whole keyboard rather than just the letters? I’d like to be able to type numbers without holding Shift.

  • Cannot SSH after resetting firewall on VPS

    I'm having trouble trying to SSH to my Debian 5 VPS with blacknight. It was working fine until I did the following: Logged into 'Parallels Infrastructure Manager' - Container - Firewall - Set to 'Normal Firewall settings'. It told me there was an error with the IPTables and offered the option again with a checkbox to 'reset' firewall settings, I selected this. I can see that that the default rules are been applied ( anything from anyone on any port and allowing anything to happen).     I found Remy Lebeau's chat demo of IdTCP components in XE2 and I wanted to play with it a little bit. (It can be found here) I would like to send a picture using these components and the best approach seems to be using TMemoryStream. If I send strings, the connection works fine, the strings are transmitted successfully, however when I change it to Stream instead, it doesn't work. However, when closing the programs(after sending the MemoryStream), two things happen: If the Client is closed first, only then does the except part get processed (the log displays the 'Failed to receive' error. However, even if I place a breakpoint on the first line of the try-except block, it somehow gets skipped and only the error is displayed). If the Server is closed first, the IDE doesn't change back from debug, Client doesn't change its state to disconnected (as it normally does when server disconnects) and after the Client is closed as well, an Access Violation error from the Server app appears. I guess this means that there is a thread of the Server still running and maintaining the connection. But no matter how much time i give it, it never completes the task of receiving the MemoryStream. Note: The server uses IdSchedulerOfThreadDefault and IdAntiFreeze, if that matters. As I can't find any reliable source of help for the revamped Indy 10 (it all appears to apply for the older Indy 10, or even Indy 9), I hope you can tell me what is wrong.   • Brightness controls not adjusting the brightness in ubuntu 10.10 64 bit on hp dm3t notebook

    I picked up an hp dm3t laptop with intel HD graphics and installed ubuntu 10.10 64 bit on it. It works great -- the only problem is that the brightness controls don't work. The brightness is always at full. When I try to adjust it down, the indicator graphic indicates that it's going down but the actual brightness doesn't change. Is there anything that I can try to make this work? I'd really appreciate any help.

However when I get an invitation sent through Apple Mail and I click it, it adds the invite to the default iCal calendar and not my Google Calendar (i.e. going to Google Calendar or bringing it up on my iPhone doesn't show the newly-added event). How can I change this so clicking on an invite will add it to my Google Calendar and display in iCal's synced Google Calendar view?

  • Binding collection indexes to a WPF DataGrid at runtime

    After trying to develop our own control to display a table of data we stumbled on the WPF toolkit DataGrid and thought we were saved. A couple hours later I'm scratching my head trying to figure out if it can do what we really want it to do. The DataGrid seems to be based on displaying various properties of a single object, where I think I need something that can display a collection's items, I want to display a table of strings with a variable number of rows and a variable number of columns. Each row represents the state of a number of inputs at a given time. The number of samples may change, and the number of inputs may change at runtime. As a result, I can't create a custom object that represents a row with a property for each input. This makes the DataGrid binding more complicated, since I can't bind to a fixed property for each column. I thought I found a workaround for this by binding to ".[" + channelIndex + ]" but it hasn't worked out quite the way I wanted. Right now I have a collection of a collection of strings that represents the two-dimensional array of strings. I'm using ObservableCollection so string change event notifications work, but I can use any collection type needed. It looked like everything was working great until I realized that every row was showing the same line of data. Binding in C# is not my strong suit, so I'm kind of lost on what's going wrong.   • windows xp mode for windows 7 - save text input language settings

    When I change the 'default language' in 'text services and input languages' in windows xp mode from EN-US to DE-DE the settings are reverted with the next logoff / reboot - EN-US is the default language again. Is there a way around this behaviour? I'm using the default 'XPMUser' in windows xp mode. I also checked 'turn off advanced text services' and disabled the language bar and windows xp remembers these settings - just not the default language..

    Hello. I've been trying to set up the OpenLDAP installed by default on Fedora 12, very unsuccessfully. My ultimate goal is to use LDAP authentication for user login and Apache, using the OpenLDAP server running on the same machine. I found two ldap.conf files, one in /etc and one in /etc/openldap. I don't know which is the right one. If I understood correctly, this file is to configure the client. I put this in both: HOST localhost BASE dc=sniejana-sandbox,dc=com I then ran the server with: service slapd start It said OK. Most of the tutorials above say to use the command ldapsearch -D "cn=Manager,dc=my-domain,dc=com" -W to ensure that everything's working. When I execute this command, a password prompt appears, and after entering the password, I get the error. ldapsearch -D "cn=root,dc=sniejana-sandbox,dc=com" -W Enter LDAP password: ldap_bind: Invalid credentials (49) The same thing happens when trying to use ldapadd. I tried with an encrypted and unencrypted password in slapd.conf, it doesn't change anything. Adding a -x for simple authentication doesn't change anything either. netstat -ap confirms the server is listening: tcp 0 0 *:ldap *:* LISTEN 4148/slapd tcp 0 0 *:ldap *:* LISTEN 4148/slapd ps -ef|grep slapd confirms the process is running: ldap 4148 1 0 15:22 ? 00:00:00 /usr/sbin/slapd -h ldap:/// -u ldap Running slaptest procudes config file testing succeeded. I read somewhere that the command ldapsearch -x -b '' -s base '(objectclass=*)' namingContext can confirm the server is running.
