Problem with Delete Link?

When I click on the delete link I created, it doesn't do anything (even the flash[:notice] part) in the controller. Am I not calling the .delete? part correctly? The POST part works as I can add tips. I have a Django form that uses an integer field to lookup a model object by its primary key. The form has a save() method that uses the model object referred to by the integer field. Can a user-chosen image be inserted directly into a JEditorPane?

What I am trying to do is open up a JFilechooser that filters jpeg,gif and png images, then gets the user's selection and inserts it into the JEditorPane. Can this be done? or am i attempting something impossible? I am coding MS SQL 2005 trigger. I want to make some logging during trigger execution, using INSERT statement into my log table. When there occurs error during execution, I want to raise error and cancel action that cause trigger execution, but not to lose log records. What is the best way to achieve this? Now my trigger logs everything except situation when there is error - because of ROLLBACK. RAISERROR statement is needed in order to inform calling program about error. Problems getting foreign keys working in MySQL

I've been trying to get a delete to cascade and it just doesn't seem to work. I'm sure I am missing something obvious, can anyone help me find it? I would expect a delete on the 'articles' table to trigger a delete on the corresponding rows in the 'article_section_lt' table. Hello i have a products table that contains normal products and configurable product It has a basic stucture of: id name price configurable ('yes', 'no') id_configuration Normal products have configurable no and 0 as id configuration, and configurable products have it set to yes and have the same id_configuration value. The current query is: SELECT `products`.* FROM `products`, `categories`, `product_categories` WHERE `categories`.`id` = 23 AND `products`.`id` = `product_categories`.`id_product` AND `categories`.`id` = `product_categories`.`id_category` AND `products`.`active` = 'yes' AND ORDER BY `pos_new` ASC, `created` DESC LIMIT 0,20 I was wondering if there is a way to group by id_configuration, but only for the configurable products. The reason is that i want only one of the configuration products to show in search. I was thinking i could do a join, but was wondering if there is a way to do some kind of special group by. For example for configurable yes the field should be id_configuration otherwise it should be the id field Thanks a lot for any sugestions

New hire expectations... (Am I being unreasonable?)

I work for a very small custom software shop. We currently consist me and my boss. My boss is an old FoxPro DOS developer and OOP makes him uncomfortable. He is planning on taking a back seat in the next few years to hopefully enjoy a “partial retirement”. I will be taking over the day to day operations and we are now desperately looking for more help. We tried Monster.com, Dice.com, and others a few years ago when we started our search. We had no success. We have tried outsourcing overseas (total disaster), hiring kids right out of college (mostly a disaster but that’s where I came from), interns (good for them, not so good for us) and hiring laid off “experienced” developers (there was a reason they were laid off). I have heard hiring practices discussed on podcasts, blogs, etc... and have tried a few. The “Fizz Buzz” test was a good one. One kid looked physically ill before he finally gave up. I think my problem is that I have grown so much as a developer since I started here that I now have a high standard. I hear/read very intelligent people podcasts and blogs and I know that there are lots of people out there that can do the job. I don’t want to settle for less than a “good” developer. Perhaps my expectations are unreasonable. I expect any good developer (entry level or experienced) to be billable (at least paying their own wage) in under one month. I expect any good developer to be able to be productive (at least dangerous) in any language or technology with only a few days of research/training. I expect any good developer to be able to take a project from initial customer request to completion with little or no help from others. Am I being unreasonable? What constitutes a valuable developer? What should be expected of an entry level developer? What should be expected of an experienced developer? I realize that everyone is different but there has to be some sort of expectations standard, right? I have been giving the test project below to potential canidates to weed them out. Good idea? service broker message process order

Everywhere I read says that messages handled by the service broker are processed in the order that they arrive, and yet if you create a table, message type, contract, service etc , and on activation have a stored proc that waits for 2 seconds and inserts the msg into a table, set the max queue readers to 5 or 10, and send 20 odd messages I can see in the table that they are inserted out of order even though when I insert them into the queue and look at the contents of the queue I can see that the messages are all in the right order. Is it due to the delay waitfor waiting for the nearest second and each thread having different subsecond times and then fighting for a lock or something? Attempting to write a check for a login script to see if the username is available. Would the best way to write this query be to check if isset(!_POST[]) for both values (nick and pass) then connect to database WHERE the mysql database for the usernick requested return the user id if the usernick exists evaluate if isset($id) to see if the user name is taken and use that to continue to creating an entry Does this logically sound like a method to check for login without using excessive code sorry for not posting the code, it is on another computer and this computer is locked down by my administrator at work... Also, is there another way to evaluate if a value exists in the database? For instance, instead of setting $id to the return value of the mysql database can i just ping the mysql database for the information and have it return a Boolean result so I am not putting out any user information. CNAME to another domain fails on some office networks, why?

Our domain "aspenfasteners.com" is hosted by Volusion. We have CNAME records "find" and "search" which point to site indexing accounts on www.picosearch.com. These addresses fail on SOME private office networks which have their own DNS. We suspect the problem comes from Volusion's own name servers, n2.volusion.com and n3.volusion.com. Volusion support on problems this technical is non-existant. We have tried an NSLOOKUP on find.aspenfasteners.com with level 2 debugging info, and we got the results below. Is it possible that the local DNS is recursing to Volusion's name servers, and that while Volusion DOES return the canonical name, they do NOT resolve the address? Can anybody with expertise in this sort of stuff PLEASE look at the NSLOOKUP below and tell me if we are right, because Volusion is giving me absolutely NO support on this topic. Is there a SortedList<T> class in .net ? (not SortedList<Key,Value> which is actually a kind of Sort

I need to sort some objects according to their contents (in fact according to one of their properties, which is NOT the key and may be duplicated between different objects) .net provides two classes (SortedDictionnary and SortedList), and both are some kind of Dictionaries. The only difference (AFAIK) is that SortedDictionnary uses a binary tree to maintain its state whereas SortedList does not and is accessible via an index. I could achieve what I want using a List, and then using its Sort() method with a custom implementation of IComparer, but it wouldn't be time-efficient as I would sort the whole List each time I insert a new object, whereas a good SortedList would just insert the item at the right position. What I need is a SortedList class with a RefreshPosition(int index) to move only the changed (or inserted) object rather than resorting the whole list each time an object inside changes. Am I missing something obvious ?

Hi All, I have a gridview, I am allowing user to enter HTML data while editing a record in a gridview row. When I am clicking update button then I am getting this message A potentially dangerous Request.Form value was detected from the client (ctl00$ContentPlaceHolder1$gvCommentDetails$ctl02$ctl04="This is message,This is mark. ..."). I have a table tblSequence with 3 cols in MS SQL: ID, IP, [Timestamp] Content could look like this: ID IP [Timestamp] -------------------------------------------------- 4347 62.107.95.103 2010-05-24 09:27:50.470 4346 62.107.95.103 2010-05-24 09:27:45.547 4345 62.107.95.103 2010-05-24 09:27:36.940 4344 62.107.95.103 2010-05-24 09:27:29.347 4343 62.107.95.103 2010-05-24 09:27:12.080 ID is unique, there can be n number of IP's. Would like to calculate the average time spent per IP. in a single row Know you can do something like this: SELECT CAST(AVG(CAST(MyTable.MyDateTimeFinish - MyTable.MyDateTimeStart AS float)) AS datetime) But how on earth do I find the first and last entry of my unique IP row so I can have a start and finish time? I need help with this code, it doesent insert the values to my database. Probably a simple problem but it's late here in Sweden so i would appriciate if someone could have a look at this and tell me what's wrong: include "../../inc/mysql_config.php"; $to = mysql_real_escape_string($_POST['to']); $message = mysql_real_escape_string($_POST['message']); mysql_query("INSERT INTO messages (to, message) VALUES ('".$to."', '".$message."')"); Every variable have an value, double checked that and the mysql_config.php is working.

sql2005 This is my simplified example: (in reality there are 40+ tables in here, I only showed 2) I got a table called tb_modules, with 3 columns (id, description, tablename as varchar): 1, UserType, tb_usertype 2, Religion, tb_religion (Last column is actually the name of a different table) I got an other table that looks like this: tb_value (columns:id, tb_modules_ID, usertype_OR_religion_ID) values: 1111, 1, 45 1112, 1, 55 1113, 2, 123 1114, 2, 234 so, I mean 45, 55, 123, 234 are usertype OR religion ID's (45, 55 usertype, 123, 234 religion ID`s) Don't judge, I didn't design the database Question How can I make a select, showing * from tb_value, plus one column That one column would be TITLE from the tb_usertype or RELIGIONNAME from the tb_religion table I would like to make a general thing. Was thinking initially about maybe a SQL function that returns a string, but I think I would need dynamic SQL, which is not ok in a function. Anyone a better idea ?
