  • How to install couchdb on mac osx 10.6

    I'm trying to install CouchDB on my mac, running snow leopard 10.6. I installed Xcode, MacPorts, and then followed the instructions here: http://wiki.apache.org/couchdb/Installing_on_OSX It all worked fine until I tried to visit the web interface: http://127.0.0.1:5984/_utils/index.html Google chrome said "Oops! Google Chrome could not connect to 127.0.0.1:5984" I tried connecting using telnet in bash and it said connection refused. Can somebody shed some light with some suggestions or perhaps and idiot-proof walkthrough?

    Recently I changed a friend's OS from a really virus filled windows 7 to Ubuntu ..but kept changing os's because lsusb wouldn't detect the camera.But after coming back to windows, the camera wasn't detected, though I must point out the device driver for the camera was never found. The Sony 'technician' told me that that since the dev-manager of windows 7 couldn't detect the camera , irregardless of whether the device driver was installed, the software change must have damaged the hardware. I was wondering if there is any truth to it.

    I currently have an HTTP server running on a single machine (it runs Ubuntu Server Edition, if that helps). In the past that has been sufficient, but as traffic has grown I have begun to need more power and storage space. I have a second machine, and have installed Ubuntu Server Edition on it.     I have some problems with my iphone 5s that would like to state here hope to get the sultions for them: 1- My iOS version was 7.0.2 and I installed some good apps on it, then I updated my iOS to version 7.0.3. After that when I tap some of my apps, first page of them appear and immediately vanish and don't go to the app. Does anybody know how to solve it? 2- At what percentage I should recharge the buttery?     How do I block this particular "auto refresh" script on Drudge Report from running in my Firefox browser? I have NoScript and AdblockPlus plugins installed, but neither of them explain how to filter out a particular script and keep it from running and leave the rest alone. I don't want to stop all javascripts from running just the one listed below. Any help would be appreciated.   • Is a 2006 Mac Mini’s processor upgradeable to a Core 2 Duo?

    I have a Mac Mini with Core Solo 1.5GHz, 512mb RAM, 60gb HDD, etc... I know, it's very old but since it's lying around here, I wanted to bump it up for general usage and some experimental iPhone development. Also, Snow Leopard can't be installed as it doesn't have enough RAM. I browsed around but I'm not sure if this Mac Mini's motherboard accepts a Core2Duo (at least a 2.0GHz). If anyone could inform me which generation of Core2Duo it still accepts, I'd be grateful.

  • marking text in Windows 7's command prompt

    I use Windows 7's command prompt (cmd.exe) for various tasks. In order to copy text from it, I right click and choose Mark, and then mark the text I want to copy. Sometimes while doing this, the marking doesn't stick. The minute I release the left mouse button after marking the text, the marking disappears. This has happened on every Windows 7 installation I've ever installed. How do I solve this?

    Running Ubuntu 7.04. Samba is installed and running. Ubuntu server is connected to the internet thru an adsl modem. Rest of the network consists of windows-xp machines All xp machines can see the shared samba folders when internet access is on. If however , the internet access is interrupted , then the samba server cannot be viewed and no sharing occurs. Is samba folder sharing dependent on internet access ?

    Hi all, I have a question concerning hard disk permission after Using boot camp, i have a macbook pro 17 i7, 500gb, yesterday i installed window 7 ultimate in 80 gb (bootcamp) ntfs offcourse. I was testing my HD permission since i found that the start up is slow in mac side. I found there's alot of changes in permissions is that normal or i should to repair all this permission problems, need to mention that from Windows side i can see my mac drive which i don't want...     I'm on a work machine, setting up a virtual ubuntu image using virtual box. After I installed the image, I can't seem to connect to the internet. If I look at network and sharing center on my host OS (W7) I see that the VirtualBox Host-Only Network reads as "no network access" How can I set it up so that it uses the same network as the host OS. UPDATE! Okay, is there a way I can tell virtual box host-only network to use a proxy script?

    I seems i did some mistake, and installed Ubuntu server on my home based ubuntu box. and the problem is that GRUB places the server edition as a priority boot in the menu, especially when I upgrade the kernel or the release. How can I remove the server from the GRUB menu permanently? can I un-install Ubuntu server edition?

  • Provisioning desktop fails with App-v 4.5 client

    Did anybode tried to provisioning a Windows desktop with App-v 4.5 client in the image? I've tried it with Windows XP and 7 but after creating the desktop pool, provisioning fails. In the View Manager I see a error: View Composer agent initialization state error (6): Unknown failure (waited 0 seconds). We are using View 4 and also checked Vmware KB: 1011653. The App-v 4.5 client is installed before the View Agent.
