  • Unable to connect to UNC share with WindowsIdentity.Impersonate, but works fine using LogonUser

    - by Rob
    Hopefully I'm not missing something obvious here, but I have a class that needs to create some directories on a UNC share and then move files to the new directory. When we connect using LogonUser things work fine with no errors, but when we try and use the user indicated by Integrated Windows authentication we run into problems. Here's some working and non-working code to give you an idea what is going on. The following works and logs the requested information: [DllImport("advapi32.dll", SetLastError = true)] private static extern bool LogonUser(string lpszUsername, string lpszDomain, string lpszPassword, int dwLogonType, int dwLogonProvider, out IntPtr phToken); [DllImport("kernel32.dll", CharSet = CharSet.Auto)] private static extern bool CloseHandle(IntPtr handle); IntPtr token; WindowsIdentity wi; if (LogonUser("user", "network", "password", 8, // LOGON32_LOGON_NETWORK_CLEARTEXT 0, // LOGON32_PROVIDER_DEFAULT out token)) { wi = new WindowsIdentity(token); WindowsImpersonationContext wic = wi.Impersonate(); Logging.LogMessage(System.Security.Principal.WindowsIdentity.GetCurrent().Name); Logging.LogMessage(path); DirectoryInfo info = new DirectoryInfo(path); Logging.LogMessage(info.Exists.ToString()); Logging.LogMessage(info.Name); Logging.LogMessage("LastAccessTime:" + info.LastAccessTime.ToString()); Logging.LogMessage("LastWriteTime:" + info.LastWriteTime.ToString()); wic.Undo(); CloseHandle(token); } The following fails and gives an error message indicating the network name is not available, but the correct user name is indicated by GetCurrent().Name: WindowsIdentity identity = (WindowsIdentity)HttpContext.Current.User.Identity; using (identity.Impersonate()) { Logging.LogMessage(System.Security.Principal.WindowsIdentity.GetCurrent().Name); Logging.LogMessage(path); DirectoryInfo info = new DirectoryInfo(path); Logging.LogMessage(info.Exists.ToString()); Logging.LogMessage(info.Name); Logging.LogMessage("LastAccessTime:" + info.LastAccessTime.ToString()); Logging.LogMessage("LastWriteTime:" + info.LastWriteTime.ToString()); }

  • string parsing to double fails in C++ (Xcode problem?)

    - by helixed
    Here's a fun one I've been trying to figure out. I have the following program: #include <iostream> #include <string> #include <sstream> using namespace std; int main(int argc, char *argv[]) { string s("5"); istringstream stream(s); double theValue; stream >> theValue; cout << theValue << endl; cout << stream.fail(); } The output is: 0 1 I don't understand why this is failing. Could somebody please tell me what I'm doing wrong? Thanks, helixed EDIT: Okay, sorry to turn this into a double post, but this looks like a problem specific to Xcode. If I compile this in g++, the code works without a problem. Does anybody have an idea why this is happening in Xcode, and how I could possibly fix it? Thanks again, helixed

  • Java repaint is slow under certain conditions.

    - by Gabriel A. Zorrilla
    I'm doing a simple grid which each square is highlighted by the cursor: They are a couple of JPanels, mapgrid and overlay inside a JLayeredPane, with mapgrid on the bottom. Mapgrid just draws on initialization the grid, its paint metodh is: public void paintComponent(Graphics g) { super.paintComponent(g); Graphics2D g2d = (Graphics2D) g; g2d.setRenderingHint(RenderingHints.KEY_ANTIALIASING, RenderingHints.VALUE_ANTIALIAS_ON); for (int i = 0; i < h; i++) { for (int j = 0; j < w; j++) { g2d.setColor(new Color(128, 128, 128, 255)); g2d.drawRect(tileSize * j, i * tileSize, tileSize, tileSize); } } In the overlay JPanel is where the highlighting occurs, this is what is repainted when the mouse is moved: public void paintComponent(Graphics g) { super.paintComponent(g); Graphics2D g2d = (Graphics2D) g; g2d.setRenderingHint(RenderingHints.KEY_ANTIALIASING, RenderingHints.VALUE_ANTIALIAS_ON); g2d.setColor(new Color(255, 255, 128, 255)); g2d.drawRect((pointerX/tileSize)*tileSize,(pointerY/ tileSize)*tileSize, tileSize, tileSize); } I noticed that even though the base layer (mapgrid) is NOT repainted when the mouse moves, just the transparent overlay layer, the performance is lacking. If i give the overlay JPanel a background, its way faster. If i remove the mapgrid Antialiasing, its a bit faster too. I don't know why giving a background to the overlay layer (and thus, hiding the mapgrid) or disabling antialiasing in the mapgrid leads to much better performance. Is there a better way to do this? Why does this happen?

  • Flex - Drag and drop - Drop a subset of multiple items

    - by flanagann
    I'm developing two DataGrid with drag and drop support. Multiple items can be selected from the source data grid, and dropped into the target data grid. I'm using an drag and drop event listener which completes the operation only in certain cases. I'm using event.preventDefault() but it doesn't work, since it stops the drag and drop from all the items. My aim is, for example, finally dropping 2 elements from the total 4 elements that I previously selected. public function onDropPermission(event:DragEvent):void { var sourceGrid:mx.controls.DataGrid = new mx.controls.DataGrid(); sourceGrid = event.dragInitiator as mx.controls.DataGrid; var targetGrid:mx.controls.DataGrid = new mx.controls.DataGrid(); targetGrid = event.target as mx.controls.DataGrid; var i:int; for (i = 0; i < sourceGrid.selectedIndices.length; i++) { var j:int; for (j = 0; j < dataGroupPermissions.length; j++) { var permission:Permission = new Permission; permission = dataGroupPermissions[j] as Permission; if (permission.id == sourceGrid.selectedItems[i].id) { event.preventDefault(); } } } }

  • why Geocoder.getFromLocationName(...) returns an empty list?

    - by urobo
    I'm using the android.location.Geocoder for the first time. The Idea is: I have a Listener on a button which takes input from an EditText and resolve the location. Up to now it's debugging phase, so I have no handler taking messages from the thread, only geocoding and write to logcat. Q: Why this method always returns an empty list of Address objects? private View.OnClickListener checkLocation = new View.OnClickListener() { @Override public void onClick(View v) { location = ((EditText)findViewById(R.id.getLocation)).getText().toString(); Thread thr = new Thread(){ public void run (){ Log.d("Looking for", location); Geocoder gc = new Geocoder(ctx,Locale.ITALY); try { fa= gc.getFromLocationName(location, 3); if (fa.isEmpty())Log.d("getFromLocationName", "NothingFound"); else { int size= fa.size(); for (int i = 0; i<size ;i++) Log.d("getFromLocationName.at("+ String.valueOf(i) +")", fa.get(i).getAddressLine(0)+", "+fa.get(0).getAddressLine(1)); } } catch (IOException e) { Log.e("IOException", e.getMessage()); } } }; thr.start(); } }; manifest: <uses-permission android:name="android.permission.INTERNET"/> <uses-permission android:name="android.permission.ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION" /> <uses-permission android:name="android.permission.ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION" /> Somebody knows why?   • check status application pool iis7 with csharp (access-denied)

    - by jack
    I need to monitor the status of an application in the applications pool of IIS 7 from an other machine on the same domain. My monitoring application must be in C# and running as a Windows service. On my server, I create a user with administration rights and I execute the command aspnet_regiis -ga machine\username wich worked succesfully. My problem is when I try to access the application pool i still get COMExcepttion "Access denied". What did i do wrong or wich step did i miss? I used code from http://patelshailesh.com/index.php/create-a-website-application-pool-programmatically-using-csharp as example. int status = 0; string ipAddress = "10.20.2.13"; string username = "username"; string password = "password"; try { DirectoryEntry de = new DirectoryEntry(string.Format("IIS://{0}/W3SVC/AppPools/MyAppPoolName", ipAddress), username, password); //the exception is thron here. status = (int)de.InvokeGet("AppPoolState"); switch (status) { case 2: //Runnig break; case 4: //Stopped break; default: break; } } catch (Exception ex) { }

  • GCC emits extra code for boost::shared_ptr dereference

    - by Checkers
    I have the following code: #include <boost/shared_ptr.hpp> struct Foo { int a; }; static int A; void func_shared(const boost::shared_ptr<Foo> &foo) { A = foo->a; } void func_raw(Foo * const foo) { A = foo->a; } I thought the compiler would create identical code, but for shared_ptr version an extra seemingly redundant instruction is emitted.   • sql 2008 sqldmo alternative

    - by alexdelpiero
    Hi! I previously was using sqldmo to automatically generate scripts from the databse. Now I upgraded to sql server 2008 and I don’t want to use this feature anymore since Microsoft will be dropping this feature off. Is there any other alternative I can use to connect to a server and generate scripts automatically from a database? Any answer is welcome. Thanks in advance. • Parsing a string, Grammar file.

    - by defn
    How would I separate the below string into its parts. What I need to separate is each < Word including the angle brackets from the rest of the string. So in the below case I would end up with several strings 1. "I have to break up with you because " 2. "< reason " (without the spaces) 3. " . But Let's still " 4. "< disclaimer " 5. " ." I have to break up with you because <reason> . But let's still <disclaimer> . below is what I currently have (its ugly...) boolean complete = false; int begin = 0; int end = 0; while (complete == false) { if (s.charAt(end) == '<'){ stack.add(new Terminal(s.substring(begin, end))); begin = end; } else if (s.charAt(end) == '>') { stack.add(new NonTerminal(s.substring(begin, end))); begin = end; end++; } else if (end == s.length()){ if (isTerminal(getSubstring(s, begin, end))){ stack.add(new Terminal(s.substring(begin, end))); } else { stack.add(new NonTerminal(s.substring(begin, end))); } complete = true; } end++;

    Hi I'm trying to tokenize a string by loading an entire file into a char[] using fread. For some strange reason it is not always working, and valgrind complains in this very small sample program. Given an input like test.txt first second And the following program #include <stdio.h> #include <string.h> #include <stdlib.h> #include <sys/stat.h> //returns the filesize in bytes size_t fsize(const char* fname){ struct stat st ; stat(fname,&st); return st.st_size; } int main(int argc, char *argv[]){ FILE *fp = NULL; if(NULL==(fp=fopen(argv[1],"r"))){ fprintf(stderr,"\t-> Error reading file:%s\n",argv[1]); return 0; } char buffer[fsize(argv[1])]; fread(buffer,sizeof(char),fsize(argv[1]),fp); char *str = strtok(buffer," \t\n"); while(NULL!=str){ fprintf(stderr,"token is:%s with strlen:%lu\n",str,strlen(str)); str = strtok(NULL," \t\n"); } return 0; } compiling like gcc test.c -std=c99 -ggdb running like ./a.out test.txt thanks

  • Add newline to a text field (Win32)

    - by user146780
    I'm making a Notepad clone. Right now my text loads fine but where their are newline characters, they do not make newlines in the text field. I load it like this: void LoadText(HWND ctrl,HWND parent) { int leng; char buf[330000]; char FileBuffer[500]; memset(FileBuffer,0,500); FileBuffer[0] = '*'; FileBuffer[1] = '.'; FileBuffer[2] = 't'; FileBuffer[3] = 'x'; FileBuffer[4] = 't'; OPENFILENAMEA ofn; memset(&ofn, 0, sizeof(OPENFILENAMEA)); ofn.lStructSize = sizeof(OPENFILENAMEA); ofn.hwndOwner = parent; ofn.lpstrFile = FileBuffer; ofn.nMaxFile = 500; ofn.lpstrFilter = "Filetype (*.txt)\0\0"; ofn.lpstrDefExt = "txt"; ofn.Flags = OFN_EXPLORER; if(!GetOpenFileNameA(&ofn)) { return; } ifstream *file; file = new ifstream(FileBuffer,ios::in); int lenn; lenn = 0; while (!file->eof()) { buf[lenn] = file->get(); lenn += 1; } buf[lenn - 1] = 0; file->read(buf,lenn); SetWindowTextA(ctrl,buf); file->close(); } How can I make it do the new line characters? Thanks

  • How to select and crop an image in android?

    - by Guy
    Hey, I am currently working on a live wallpaper and I allow the user to select an image which will go behind my effects. Currently I have: Intent i = new Intent(Intent.ACTION_PICK, android.provider.MediaStore.Images.Media.EXTERNAL_CONTENT_URI); i.putExtra("crop", "true"); startActivityForResult(i, 1); And slightly under that: @Override public void onActivityResult(int requestCode, int resultCode, Intent data) { super.onActivityResult(requestCode, resultCode, data); if (requestCode == 1) if (resultCode == Activity.RESULT_OK) { Uri selectedImage = data.getData(); Log.d("IMAGE SEL", "" + selectedImage); // TODO Do something with the select image URI SharedPreferences customSharedPreference = getSharedPreferences("imagePref", Activity.MODE_PRIVATE); SharedPreferences.Editor editor = customSharedPreference.edit(); Log.d("HO", "" + selectedImage); editor.putString("imagePref", getRealPathFromURI(selectedImage)); Log.d("IMAGE SEL", getRealPathFromURI(selectedImage)); editor.commit(); } } When my code is ran, Logcat tells me that selectedImage is null. If I comment out the i.putExtra("crop", "true"): Logcat does not give me the null pointer exception, and I am able to do what I want with the image. So, what is the problem here? Does any one have any idea how I can fix this? Thanks, for your time.

  • Java, LinkedList of Strings. Insert in alphabetical order

    - by user69514
    I have a simple linked list. The node contains a string (value) and an int (count). In the linkedlist when I insert I need to insert the new Node in alphabetical order. If there is a node with the same value in the list, then I simply increment the count of the node. I think I got my method really screwed up. public void addToList(Node node){ //check if list is empty, if so insert at head if(count == 0 ){ head = node; head.setNext(null); count++; } else{ Node temp = head; for(int i=0; i<count; i++){ //if value is greater, insert after if(node.getItem().getValue().compareTo(temp.getItem().getValue()) > 0){ node.setNext(temp.getNext()); temp.setNext(node); } //if value is equal just increment the counter else if(node.getItem().getValue().compareTo(temp.getItem().getValue()) == 0){ temp.getItem().setCount(temp.getItem().getCount() + 1); } //else insert before else{ node.setNext(temp); } } } }

  • WPF Designer has bug with parsing generic control with overrided property

    - by Ivan Laktyunkin
    I've created a generic lookless control with virtual property: public abstract class TestControlBase<TValue> : Control { public static readonly DependencyProperty ValueProperty; static TestControlBase() { ValueProperty = DependencyProperty.Register("Value", typeof(TValue), typeof(TestControlBase<TValue>)); } protected TestControlBase() { Focusable = false; Value = default(TValue); } public virtual TValue Value { get { return (TValue)GetValue(ValueProperty); } set { SetValue(ValueProperty, value); } } } Then I've made a control derived from it and overrided Value property: public class TestControl : TestControlBase<int> { public override int Value { get { return base.Value; } set { base.Value = value; } } } So I use it in a Window XAML: <TestControls:TestControl /> When I open window in designer all is OK, but when I put mouse cursor to this line, or to this control in designer I receive exception: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation. at System.RuntimeMethodHandle._InvokeMethodFast(Object target, Object[] arguments, SignatureStruct& sig, MethodAttributes methodAttributes, RuntimeTypeHandle typeOwner) at System.RuntimeMethodHandle.InvokeMethodFast(Object target, Object[] arguments, Signature sig, MethodAttributes methodAttributes, RuntimeTypeHandle typeOwner) at System.Reflection.RuntimeMethodInfo.Invoke(Object obj, BindingFlags invokeAttr, Binder binder, Object[] parameters, CultureInfo culture, Boolean skipVisibilityChecks) at System.Delegate.DynamicInvokeImpl(Object[] args) at System.Windows.Threading.ExceptionWrapper.InternalRealCall(Delegate callback, Object args, Boolean isSingleParameter) at System.Windows.Threading.ExceptionWrapper.TryCatchWhen(Object source, Delegate callback, Object args, Boolean isSingleParameter, Delegate catchHandler) Ambiguous match found. at System.RuntimeType.GetPropertyImpl(String name, BindingFlags bindingAttr, Binder binder, Type returnType, Type[] types, ParameterModifier[] modifiers) at System.Type.GetProperty(String name) at MS.Internal.ComponentModel.DependencyPropertyKind.get_IsDirect() at MS.Internal.ComponentModel.DependencyPropertyKind.get_IsAttached() at MS.Internal.ComponentModel.APCustomTypeDescriptor.GetProperties(Attribute[] attributes) at MS.Internal.ComponentModel.APCustomTypeDescriptor.GetProperties() at System.ComponentModel.TypeDescriptor.TypeDescriptionNode.DefaultExtendedTypeDescriptor.System.ComponentModel.ICustomTypeDescriptor.GetProperties() at System.ComponentModel.TypeDescriptor.GetPropertiesImpl(Object component, Attribute[] attributes, Boolean noCustomTypeDesc, Boolean noAttributes) at System.ComponentModel.TypeDescriptor.GetProperties(Object component) at MS.Internal.Model.ModelPropertyCollectionImpl.GetProperties(String propertyNameHint) at MS.Internal.Model.ModelPropertyCollectionImpl.<GetEnumerator>d__0.MoveNext() at MS.Internal.Designer.PropertyEditing.Model.ModelPropertyMerger.<GetFirstProperties>d__0.MoveNext() at MS.Internal.Designer.PropertyEditing.PropertyInspector.UpdateCategories(Selection selection) at MS.Internal.Designer.PropertyEditing.PropertyInspector.OnSelectionChangedIdle() Who know this problem? • Instruments (Leaks) and NSDateFormatter

    - by Cal
    When I run my iPhone app with Instruments Leaks and parse a bunch of NSDates using NSDateFormatter my memory goes up about 1mb and stays even though these NSDates should be dealloc'd after the parsing (I just discard them if they aren't new). I thought the malloc (in my heaviest stack trace below) could become part of the NSDate but I also thought it could be memory that only used during some intermediate step in parsing. Does anyone know which one it is or how to find out? Also, is there a way to put a breakpoint on NSDate dealloc to see if that memory is really being reclaimed? Here's what my date formatter looks like for parsing these dates: df = [[NSDateFormatter alloc] init]; [df setDateFormat:@"EEE, d MMM yyyy H:m:s z"]; Here's the Heaviest Stack trace when the memory bumps up and stays there: 0 libSystem.B.dylib 208.80 Kb malloc 1 libicucore.A.dylib 868.19 Kb icu::ZoneMeta::getSingleCountry(icu::UnicodeString const&, icu::UnicodeString&) 2 libicucore.A.dylib 868.66 Kb icu::ZoneMeta::getSingleCountry(icu::UnicodeString const&, icu::UnicodeString&) 3 libicucore.A.dylib 868.67 Kb icu::ZoneMeta::getSingleCountry(icu::UnicodeString const&, icu::UnicodeString&) 4 libicucore.A.dylib 868.67 Kb icu::DateFormatSymbols::initZoneStringFormat() 5 libicucore.A.dylib 868.67 Kb icu::DateFormatSymbols::getZoneStringFormat() const 6 libicucore.A.dylib 868.67 Kb icu::SimpleDateFormat::subParse(icu::UnicodeString const&, int&, unsigned short, int, signed char, signed char, signed char*, icu::Calendar&) const 7 libicucore.A.dylib 868.67 Kb icu::SimpleDateFormat::parse(icu::UnicodeString const&, icu::Calendar&, icu::ParsePosition&) const 8 libicucore.A.dylib 868.67 Kb icu::DateFormat::parse(icu::UnicodeString const&, icu::ParsePosition&) const 9 libicucore.A.dylib 868.67 Kb udat_parse 10 CoreFoundation 868.67 Kb CFDateFormatterGetAbsoluteTimeFromString 11 CoreFoundation 868.67 Kb CFDateFormatterCreateDateFromString 12 Foundation 868.67 Kb -[NSDateFormatter getObjectValue:forString:range:error:] 13 Foundation 868.75 Kb -[NSDateFormatter getObjectValue:forString:errorDescription:] 14 Foundation 868.75 Kb -[NSDateFormatter dateFromString:] Thanks!

When adding one more byte 0x18 to the array, the exception raised: InvalidKeyException: Key length not 128/192/256 bits. But the original 18 bytes (from 0 to 17) are not multiple of nither 128, 192 or 256. I would like to understand the math here.. can anyone explain me? Thanks!

    Following watching Nick Partidge's presentation on deriving scalaz, I got to looking at this example, which is just awesome: import scalaz._ import Scalaz._ def even(x: Int) : Validation[NonEmptyList[String], Int] = if (x % 2 ==0) x.success else "not even: %d".format(x).wrapNel.fail println( even(3) <|*|> even(5) ) //prints: Failure(NonEmptyList(not even: 3, not even: 5)) I was trying to understand what the <|*|> method was doing, here is the source code: def <|*|>[B](b: M[B])(implicit t: Functor[M], a: Apply[M]): M[(A, B)] = <**>(b, (_: A, _: B)) OK, that is fairly confusing (!) - but it references the <**> method, which is declared thus: def <**>[B, C](b: M[B], z: (A, B) => C)(implicit t: Functor[M], a: Apply[M]): M[C] = a(t.fmap(value, z.curried), b) So I have a few questions: How come the method appears to take a monad of one type parameter (M[B]) but can get passed a Validation (which has two type paremeters)? How does the syntax (_: A, _: B) define the function (A, B) => C which the 2nd method expects? It doesn't even define an output via =>

  • using JMock to write unit test for a simple spring JDBC DAO

    - by Quincy
    I'm writing an unit test for spring jdbc dao. The method to test is: public long getALong() { return simpleJdbcTemplate.queryForObject("sql query here", new RowMapper<Long>() { public Long mapRow(ResultSet resultSet, int i) throws SQLException { return resultSet.getLong("a_long"); } }); } Here is what I have in the test: public void testGetALong() throws Exception { final Long result = 1000L; context.checking(new Expectations() {{ oneOf(simpleJdbcTemplate).queryForObject("sql_query", new RowMapper<Long>() { public Long mapRow(ResultSet resultSet, int i) throws SQLException { return resultSet.getLong("a_long"); } }); will(returnValue(result)); }}); Long seq = dao.getALong(); context.assertIsSatisfied(); assertEquals(seq, result); } Naturally, the test doesn't work (otherwise, I wouldn't be asking this question here). The problem is the rowmapper in the test is different from the rowmapper in the DAO. So the expectation is not met. I tried to put with around the sql query and with(any(RowMapper.class)) for the rowmapper. It wouldn't work either, complains about "not all parameters were given explicit matchers: either all parameters must be specified by matchers or all must be specified by values, you cannot mix matchers and values"

  • LINQ Query to DataTable.DataSource

    - by lumberjack
    I am trying to perform a LINQ query on a DataTable and show the result in another DataTable. My source DataTable looks something like this: DataTable myDataTable = new DataTable(); myDataTable.Columns.Add("OrderID", typeof(int)); myDataTable.Columns.Add("Date", typeof(DateTime)); myDataTable.Columns.Add("UnitsPurchased", typeof(int)); The resulting DataTable looks like this when filled: Order ID Date Units Purchased 16548 10/15/09 250 17984 11/03/09 512 20349 01/11/10 213 34872 01/15/10 175 My current LINQ query looks like this: IEnumerable<DataRow> query = (from row in myDataTable.AsEnumerable() where row.UnitsPurchased > 200 select new { row.OrderID, row.Date, row.UnitsPurchased }) as IEnumerable<DataRow>; resultDataTable.DataSource = query.CopyToDataTable<DataRow>(); Every time I run this code query is null. I can see that that the as IEnumerable<DataRow> is the culprit, but it makes no since to me since DataTable.AsEnumerable() returns an IEnumerable<DataRow>. Any help would be appreciated.

  • Calling SubmitChanges on DataContext does not update database.

    - by drasto
    In C# ASP.NET MVC application I use Link to SQL to provide data for my application. I have got simple database schema like this: In my controller class I reference this data context called Model (as you can see on the right side of picture in properties) like this: private Model model = new Model(); I've got a table (List) of Series rendered on my page. It renders properly and I was able to add delete functionality to delete Series like this: public ActionResult Delete(int id) { model.Series.DeleteOnSubmit(model.Series.SingleOrDefault(s => s.ID == id)); model.SubmitChanges(); return RedirectToAction("Index"); } Where appropriate action link looks like this: <%: Html.ActionLink("Delete", "Delete", new { id=item.ID })%> Also create (implemented in similar way) works fine. However edit does not work. My edit looks like this: public ActionResult Edit(int id) { return View(model.Series.SingleOrDefault(s => s.ID == id)); } [HttpPost] public ActionResult Edit(Series series) { if (ModelState.IsValid) { UpdateModel(series); series.Title = series.Title + " some string to ensure title has changed"; model.SubmitChanges(); return RedirectToAction("Index"); } I have controlled that my database has a primary key set up correctly. I debugged my application and found out that everything works as expected until the line with model.SubmitChanges();. This command does not apply the changes of Title property(or any other) against the database. Please help.

  • Java anagram recursion List<List<String>> only storing empty lists<Strings>

    - by Riff Rafffer
    Hi In this recursion method i am trying to find all anagrams and add it to a List but what happens when i run this code is it just returns alot of empty Lists. private List<List<String>> findAnagrams(LetterInventory words, ArrayList<String> anagram, int max, Map<String, LetterInventory> smallDict, int level, List<List<String>> result) { ArrayList<String> solvedWord = new ArrayList<String>(); LetterInventory shell; LetterInventory shell2; if (level < max || max == 0) { Iterator<String> it = smallDict.keySet().iterator(); while (it.hasNext()) { String k = it.next(); shell = new LetterInventory(k); shell2 = words; if (shell2.subtract(shell) != null) { anagram.add(k); shell2 = words.subtract(shell); if (shell2.isEmpty()) { //System.out.println(anagram.toString()); it prints off fine here result.add(anagram); // but doesnt add here } else findAnagrams(shell2, anagram, max, smallDict, level + 1, result); anagram.remove(anagram.size()-1); } } } return results; }

  • What Qt container class to use for a sorted list?

    - by Dave
    Part of my application involves rendering audio waveforms. The user will be able to zoom in/out of the waveform. Starting at fully zoomed-out, I only want to sample the audio at the necessary internals to draw the waveform at the given resolution. Then, when they zoom in, asynchronously resample the "missing points" and provide a clearer waveform. (Think Google Maps.) I'm not sure the best data structure to use in Qt world. Ideally, I would like to store data samples sorted by time, but with the ability to fill-in points as needed. So, for example, the data points might initially look like: data[0 ms] = 10 data[10 ms] = 32 data[20 ms] = 21 ... But when they zoom in, I would get more points as necessary, perhaps: data[0 ms] = 10 data[2 ms] = 11 data[4 ms] = 18 data[6 ms] = 30 data[10 ms] = 32 data[20 ms] = 21 ... Note that the values in brackets are lookup values (milliseconds), not array indices. In .Net I might have used a SortedList<int, int>. What would be the best class to use in Qt? Or should I use a STL container?

  • .Net: What is your confident approach in "Catch" section of try-catch block, When developing CRUD op

    - by odiseh
    hi, I was wondering if there would be any confident approach for use in catch section of try-catch block when developing CRUD operations(specially when you use a Database as your data source) in .Net? well, what's your opinion about below lines? public int Insert(string name, Int32 employeeID, string createDate) { SqlConnection connection = new SqlConnection(); connection.ConnectionString = this._ConnectionString; try { SqlCommand command = connection.CreateCommand(); command.CommandType = CommandType.StoredProcedure; command.CommandText = "UnitInsert"; if (connection.State != ConnectionState.Open) connection.Open(); SqlCommandBuilder.DeriveParameters(command); command.Parameters["@Name"].Value = name; command.Parameters["@EmployeeID"].Value = employeeID; command.Parameters["@CreateDate"].Value = createDate; int i = command.ExecuteNonQuery(); command.Dispose(); return i; } catch { **// how do you "catch" any possible error here?** return 0; // } finally { connection.Close(); connection.Dispose(); connection = null; } }
