• Preloader stalling flash movie in IE

- by rogersoli
This is only a problem in IE. the following actionscript is for a simple preloader for a movie i'm working on. It works fine in Firefox but the movie stops on the first frame when opened with Internet Explorer. Has anyone had this problem before? stop(); addEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME,checkLoad); function checkLoad(e:Event):void { var pcent:Number=this.loaderInfo.bytesLoaded /this.loaderInfo.bytesTotal*100; bar_mc.scaleX=pcent/100; loader_txt.text=int(pcent)+"%"; if (pcent==100) { removeEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME,checkLoad); this.gotoAndPlay(2); } }

• Retrieving a list of eBay categories using the .NET SDK and GetCategoriesCall

- by Bill Osuch
eBay offers a .Net SDK for its Trading API - this post will show you the basics of making an API call and retrieving a list of current categories. You'll need the category ID(s) for any apps that post or search eBay. To start, download the latest SDK from https://www.x.com/developers/ebay/documentation-tools/sdks/dotnet and create a new console app project. Add a reference to the eBay.Service DLL, and a few using statements: using eBay.Service.Call; using eBay.Service.Core.Sdk; using eBay.Service.Core.Soap; I'm assuming at this point you've already joined the eBay Developer Network and gotten your app IDs and user tokens. If not: Join the developer program Generate tokens Next, add an app.config file that looks like this: <configuration> <appSettings> <add key="Environment.ApiServerUrl" value="https://api.ebay.com/wsapi"/> <add key="UserAccount.ApiToken" value="YourBigLongToken"/> </appSettings> </configuration> And then add the code to get the xml list of categories: ApiContext apiContext = GetApiContext(); GetCategoriesCall apiCall = new GetCategoriesCall(apiContext); apiCall.CategorySiteID = "0"; //Leave this commented out to retrieve all category levels (all the way down): //apiCall.LevelLimit = 4; //Uncomment this to begin at a specific parent category: //StringCollection parentCategories = new StringCollection(); //parentCategories.Add("63"); //apiCall.CategoryParent = parentCategories; apiCall.DetailLevelList.Add(DetailLevelCodeType.ReturnAll); CategoryTypeCollection cats = apiCall.GetCategories(); using (StreamWriter outfile = new StreamWriter(@"C:\Temp\EbayCategories.xml")) { outfile.Write(apiCall.SoapResponse); } GetApiContext() (provided in the sample apps in the SDK) is required for any call: static ApiContext GetApiContext() { //apiContext is a singleton, //to avoid duplicate configuration reading if (apiContext != null) { return apiContext; } else { apiContext = new ApiContext(); //set Api Server Url apiContext.SoapApiServerUrl = ConfigurationManager.AppSettings["Environment.ApiServerUrl"]; //set Api Token to access eBay Api Server ApiCredential apiCredential = new ApiCredential(); apiCredential.eBayToken = ConfigurationManager.AppSettings["UserAccount.ApiToken"]; apiContext.ApiCredential = apiCredential; //set eBay Site target to US apiContext.Site = SiteCodeType.US; return apiContext; } } Running this will give you a large (4 or 5 megs) XML file that looks something like this: <soapenv:Envelope xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:soapenv="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/"> <soapenv:Body> <GetCategoriesResponse > <Timestamp>2012-06-06T16:03:46.158Z</Timestamp> <Ack>Success</Ack> <CorrelationID>d02dd9e3-295a-4268-9ea5-554eeb2e0e18</CorrelationID> <Version>775</Version> <Build>E775_CORE_BUNDLED_14891042_R1</Build> - <CategoryArray>
<BestOfferEnabled>true</BestOfferEnabled> <AutoPayEnabled>true</AutoPayEnabled> <CategoryID>20081</CategoryID> <CategoryLevel>1</CategoryLevel> <CategoryName>Antiques</CategoryName> <CategoryParentID>20081</CategoryParentID>

<BestOfferEnabled>true</BestOfferEnabled> <AutoPayEnabled>true</AutoPayEnabled> <CategoryID>37903</CategoryID> <CategoryLevel>2</CategoryLevel> <CategoryName>Antiquities</CategoryName> <CategoryParentID>20081</CategoryParentID>
(etc.) You could work with this, but I wanted a nicely nested view, like this: <CategoryArray>

</CategoryArray> ...so I transformed the xml: private void TransformXML(CategoryTypeCollection cats) { XmlElement topLevelElement = null; XmlElement childLevelElement = null; XmlNode parentNode = null; string categoryString = ""; XmlDocument returnDoc = new XmlDocument(); XmlElement root = returnDoc.CreateElement("CategoryArray"); returnDoc.AppendChild(root); XmlNode rootNode = returnDoc.SelectSingleNode("/CategoryArray"); //Loop through CategoryTypeCollection foreach (CategoryType category in cats) { if (category.CategoryLevel == 1) { //Top-level category, so we know we can just add it topLevelElement = returnDoc.CreateElement("Category"); topLevelElement.SetAttribute("Name", category.CategoryName); topLevelElement.SetAttribute("ID", category.CategoryID); rootNode.AppendChild(topLevelElement); } else { // Level number will determine how many Category nodes we are deep categoryString = ""; for (int x = 1; x < category.CategoryLevel; x++) { categoryString += "/Category"; } parentNode = returnDoc.SelectSingleNode("/CategoryArray" + categoryString + "[@ID='" + category.CategoryParentID[0] + "']"); childLevelElement = returnDoc.CreateElement("Category"); childLevelElement.SetAttribute("Name", category.CategoryName); childLevelElement.SetAttribute("ID", category.CategoryID); parentNode.AppendChild(childLevelElement); } } returnDoc.Save(@"C:\Temp\EbayCategories-Modified.xml"); } Yes, there are probably much cleaner ways of dealing with it, but I'm not an xml expert… Keep in mind, eBay categories do not change on a regular basis, so you should be able to cache this data (either in a file or database) for some time. The xml returns a CategoryVersion node that you can use to determine if the category list has changed. Technorati Tags: Csharp, eBay

• AS3 TextField - unwanted carriage return when setting value to ""

- by jevinkones
I have an input TextField and have a KeyboardEvent.KEY_DOWN even listener on the stage to listen for the Keyboard.ENTER event. The event listener adds the entered text to an array or whatever, and then clears the TextField. The problem is that when the Enter key event fires and the TextField value is set to "", it leaves a carriage return in the TextField and the cursor positioned on the second line. WTF? I've been coding AS2 and AS3 for a LONG time and have never ran into this before. Am I losing my mind? Please help, people! :-) Example: var myTextArray:Array = new Array(); stage.addEventListener(KeyboardEvent.KEY_DOWN, onKeyDown); function onKeyDown(e:KeyboardEvent):void{ if(e.keyCode == Keyboard.ENTER){ if(_inputText.text != null){ myTextArray.push(_inputText.text); } _inputText.text = ""; } }

• Repeater ItemDataBound Complete Trigger

- by OliverS
Hi I have a Repeater and I am doing various things during the ItemDataBound event. My Repeater is in a control. What I am noticing is that the things that are supposed to happen in the ItemDataBound event happen after the Page_Load of the page hosting the control. Is there a way to use some sort of ItemDataBoundComplete trigger so I can do other things on my page after the events of the ItemDataBound have taken place? Thanks, please let me know if I have not been clear. [Edit] I have controls that are being bound to the ItemDataBound and they are not available until after the Page_Load for the page hosting the control. [Solution] (In my case): In my page I used the following: Control.Page.LoadComplete += new EventHandler(Control_LoadComplete); Then I performed what I had to do in that event.

• C++: How to build an events / messaging system without void pointers?

- by Jarx
I'd like to have a dynamic messaging system in my C++ project, one where there is a fixed list of existing events, events can be triggered anywhere during runtime, and where you can subscribe callback functions to certain events. There should be an option for arguments passed around in those events. For example, one event might not need any arguments (EVENT_EXIT), and some may need multiple ones (EVENT_PLAYER_CHAT: Player object pointer, String with message) The first option for making this possible is allowing to pass a void pointer as argument to the event manager when triggering an event, and receiving it in the callback function. Although: I was told that void pointers are unsafe and I shouldn't use them. How can I keep (semi) dynamic argument types and counts for my events whilst not using void pointers?

• Help with pyHook error.

- by Shady
Hey, I'm trying to make a global hotkey with pyhook in python that is supposed to work only with the alt key pressed. here is the source: import pyHook import pythoncom hm = pyHook.HookManager() def OnKeyboardEvent(event): if event.Alt == 32 and event.KeyID == 49: print 'HERE WILL BE THE CODE' hm.KeyDown = OnKeyboardEvent hm.HookKeyboard() pythoncom.PumpMessages() but when I execute, only works with the second press of the second key (number 1 = 49)... and give this error: http://img580.imageshack.us/img580/1858/errord.png How can I solve it? For work at the first pressed time.

• Java->Scala Remove Iterator<T>-Element from a JavaConversions-wrapped Iterable

- by ifischer
I have to translate the following code from Java to Scala: for (Iterator<ExceptionQueuedEvent> i = getUnhandledExceptionQueuedEvents().iterator(); i.hasNext();) { ExceptionQueuedEvent event = i.next(); try { //do something } finally { i.remove(); } } I'm using the JavaConversions library to wrap the Iterable. But as i'm not using the original Iterator, i don't know how to remove the current element correctly from the collection the same way as i did in Java: import scala.collection.JavaConversions._ (...) for (val event <- events) { try { //do something } finally { //how can i remove the current event from events? } } Can someone help me? I guess it's easy, but i'm still kinda new to Scala and don't understand what's going on when Scala wraps something of Java.

• Unbinding inline onClick not working in jQuery?

- by Polaris878
Okay so, I'm wondering how to unbind an inline onclick event in jQuery. You'd think .unbind() would work, however it doesn't. To test this for yourself, play around with the following HTML and JavaScript: function UnbindTest() { $("#unbindTest").unbind('click'); } function BindTest() { $("#unbindTest").bind('click', function() { alert("bound!"); }); } Unbind Test Bind Test Unbind Button As you can see, unbinding does not unbind the inline onclick event... however it does unbind the click event added with bind(). So, I'm wondering if there is a way to unbind inline onclick events short of doing the following: $("#unbindTest").get(0).onclick = ""; Thanks

• Allowing threads from python after calling a blocking i/o code in a python extension generated using

- by SS
I have written a python extension wrapping an existing C++ library live555 (wrapping RTSP client interface to be specific) in SWIG. The extension works when it is operated in a single thread, but as soon as I call the event loop function of the library, python interpreter never gets the control back. So if I create a scheduled task using threading.Timer right before calling the event loop, that task never gets executed once event loop starts. To fix this issue, I added Py_BEGIN_ALLOW_THREADS and Py_END_ALLOW_THREADS macros manually in the SWIG auto generated wrapper cxx file around every doEventLoop() function call. But now, I want to do the same (i.e. allow threads) when SWIG generates the code itself and not to change any code manually. Has anyone done something similar in SWIG? P.S. - I would also consider switching to any other framework (like SIP) to get this working. I selected SWIG over any other technology is because writing SWIG interface was really very easy and I just had to include the existing header files.

• REST to Objects in C#

RESTful interfaces for web services are all the rage for many Web 2.0 sites. If you want to consume these in a very simple fashion, LINQ to XML can do the job pretty easily in C#. If you go searching for help on this, youll find a lot of incomplete solutions and fairly large toolkits and frameworks (guess how I know this) this quick article is meant to be a no fluff just stuff approach to making this work. POCO Objects Lets assume you have a Model that you want to suck data into from a RESTful web service. Ideally this is a Plain Old CLR Object, meaning it isnt infected with any persistence or serialization goop. It might look something like this: public class Entry { public int Id; public int UserId; public DateTime Date; public float Hours; public string Notes; public bool Billable; public override string ToString() { return String.Format("[{0}] User: {1} Date: {2} Hours: {3} Notes: {4} Billable {5}", Id, UserId, Date, Hours, Notes, Billable); } } Not that this isnt a completely trivial object. Lets look at the API for the service. RESTful HTTP Service In this case, its TickSpots API, with the following sample output: <entries type="array">

<task_id type="integer">14</task_id> <user_id type="integer">3</user_id> <date type="date">2008-03-08</date> <hours type="float">1.00</hours> <notes>Had trouble with tribbles.</notes> <billable>true</billable> # Billable is an attribute inherited from the task <billed>true</billed> # Billed is an attribute to track whether the entry has been invoiced <created_at type="datetime">Tue, 07 Oct 2008 14:46:16 -0400</created_at> <updated_at type="datetime">Tue, 07 Oct 2008 14:46:16 -0400</updated_at> # The following attributes are derived and provided for informational purposes: <user_email>[email protected]</user_email> <task_name>Remove converter assembly</task_name> <sum_hours type="float">2.00</sum_hours> <budget type="float">10.00</budget> <project_name>Realign dilithium crystals</project_name> <client_name>Starfleet Command</client_name>
</entries> Im assuming in this case that I dont necessarily care about all of the data fields the service is returning I just need some of them for my applications purposes. Thus, you can see there are more elements in the
XML than I have in my Entry class. Get The XML with C# The next step is to get the XML. The following snippet does the heavy lifting once you pass it the appropriate URL: protected XElement GetResponse(string uri) { var request = WebRequest.Create(uri) as HttpWebRequest; request.UserAgent = ".NET Sample"; request.KeepAlive = false; request.Timeout = 15 * 1000; var response = request.GetResponse() as HttpWebResponse; if (request.HaveResponse == true && response != null) { var reader = new StreamReader(response.GetResponseStream()); return XElement.Parse(reader.ReadToEnd()); } throw new Exception("Error fetching data."); } This is adapted from the Yahoo Developer article on Web Service REST calls. Once you have the XML, the last step is to get the data back as your POCO. Use LINQ-To-XML to Deserialize POCOs from XML This is done via the following code: public IEnumerable
List(DateTime startDate, DateTime endDate) { string additionalParameters = String.Format("start_date={0}&end_date={1}", startDate.ToShortDateString(), endDate.ToShortDateString()); string uri = BuildUrl("entries", additionalParameters); XElement elements = GetResponse(uri); var entries = from e in elements.Elements() where e.Name.LocalName == "entry" select new Entry { Id = int.Parse(e.Element("id").Value), UserId = int.Parse(e.Element("user_id").Value), Date = DateTime.Parse(e.Element("date").Value), Hours = float.Parse(e.Element("hours").Value), Notes = e.Element("notes").Value, Billable = bool.Parse(e.Element("billable").Value) }; return entries; } For completeness, heres the BuildUrl method for my TickSpot API wrapper: // Change these to your settings protected const string projectDomain = "DOMAIN.tickspot.com"; private const string authParams = "[email protected]&password=MyTickSpotPassword"; protected string BuildUrl(string apiMethod, string additionalParams) { if (projectDomain.Contains("DOMAIN")) { throw new ApplicationException("You must update your domain in ProjectRepository.cs."); } if (authParams.Contains("MyTickSpotPassword")) { throw new ApplicationException("You must update your email and password in ProjectRepository.cs."); } return string.Format("https://{0}/api/{1}?{2}&{3}", projectDomain, apiMethod, authParams, additionalParams); } Thats it! Now go forth and consume XML and map it to classes you actually want to work with. Have fun! Did you know that DotNetSlackers also publishes .net articles written by top known .net Authors? We already have over 80 articles in several categories including Silverlight. Take a look: here.

• Wrapping with Dependency Properties

- by Chris
I've got a Windows Forms control that I'm wrapping with a WindowsFormsHost-derived class to access WPF's data binding functionality. The Forms control exposes properties that indicate its state, along with the standard property-changed event notifier. For example, a Zoom property on the Forms control is accompanied with a ZoomChanged event. In the WindowsFormsHost wrapper, I'm using a DependencyProperty to represent the underlying Windows Forms control property. Binding works as expected going to the control; however, I'm not sure how to correctly propogate property changes from the wrapped control back out to binding subscribers (i.e., the Windows Form control changes its Zoom property and raises the ZoomChanged event). Any ideas on how to accomplish this? Should I be using a different approach?

• ASP.NET Call Another Element's DoPostBack Function

- by blu
I have an ASP.NET control that has an onclick event handler rendered inline on the element. I would like to call that function and have it raise the target control's server side event handler. <asp:CheckBox ID="Foo" runat="server" AutoPostBack="true" Text="Foo" /> Test I created the checkbox, looked at the rendered function on the field, and then copied that into the onclick on the anchor element. The anchor will raise a postback, but the event handler for the check box is not raised. protected override void OnLoad(EventArgs e) { // fires for checkbox // fires for anchor (the anchor does cause a postback) } void Foo_CheckedChanged(object sender, EventArgs e) { // fires for checkbox // does not fire for anchor } protected override void OnInit(EventArgs e) { this.Foo.CheckedChanged += new EventHandler(Foo_CheckedChanged); } Is it possible to do this?

• Access: Reading deleted record buffer

- by Michael Itzoe
According to the Access (2003) documentation, when you delete a record, it's placed in a buffer, then the BeforeDeleteConfirm event is raised, then the AfterConfirmDelete ad Delete events. In my table if a record is deleted, I need to add one of its field values (a quantity value) to a field in another table. I tried setting the quantity to a private variable in the Current event, but as soon as I delete click delete, it looks like the Current event fires again and resets my variable. How can I access the value of a field in a deleted record?

• Need to determine if ELMAH is logging an unhandled exception or one raised by ErrorSignal.Raise()

- by Ronnie Overby
I am using the Elmah Logged event in my Global.asax file to transfer users to a feedback form when an unhandled exception occurs. Sometimes I log other handled exceptions. For example: ErrorSignal.FromCurrentContext().Raise(new System.ApplicationException("Program code not found: " + Student.MostRecentApplication.ProgramCode)); // more code that should execute after logging this exception The problem I am having is that the Logged event gets fired for both unhandled and these handled, raised exceptions. Is there a way to determine, in the Logged event handler, whether the exception was raised via ErrorSignal class or was simply unhandled? Are there other Elmah events that I can take advantage of?

• Custom buttons in MS-Access 2k7

- by terence6
I'm adding some custom buttons to my forms in MS Access, but somehow I can't make them work. In buttons properties Event tab I've changed 'On Click' event to call 'Event procedure'. Then in VBasic I'm selecting my button and from what I know this code should give me prompt, and if Yos is selected the form should close. But when I click my buttons simply nothing happens. Am I doing something wrong ? Option Compare Database Option Explicit Private Sub cmdQuitApp_Click() If MsgBox("Are you sure you want to close the form?", vbYesNo + vbQuestion + vbInformation, "Clasing the form.") = vbYes Then DoCmd.Close End If End Sub

• How to calculate unbound column value based on value of bound colum in DatagGridView?

- by Wodzu
Hi. I have few columns in my DataGridView, one of them is an unbound column and the DataGridVIew is in VirtualMode. When CellValueNeeded event is called, I want to calculate value of Cells[0] basing on the value of Cells[2] which is in bounded column to the underlaying DataSource. This is how I try to do this: private void dgvItems_CellValueNeeded(object sender, DataGridViewCellValueEventArgs e) { e.Value = dgvItems.CurrentRow.Cells[2].Value * 5; //simplified example } However, I am getting System.StackOverflowException because it seams that call to dgvItems.CurrentRow.Cells[2].Value results in call to another CellValueNeeded event. And so on and so on... However Cells[2] is not an unbound column, so on common sense it should not result in recursive call unless getting value of any column(bound or unbound) firest that event... I can not use here SQL Expression and I can not precalculate e.Value in any SQL call. In real example Cells[2].Value is a key used in HashTable which will return a correct value for the Cells[0] (e.Value). What can I do?

• JQuery UI + tabs : How to kow to get the selected tab with imbricated tabs

- by chris
Hi, I'm new to Jquery. I'm using JQuery UI and i have imbricated Tabs : Tabs in tabs. ____ tab 1 | tab 2 | tab 3 | tab 4| tab 5 ______ tab 1-1 | tab 1-2 | tab 1-3 | tab 1-4| tab 1-5 I'm using $('#div').bind('tabsselect', function(event, ui) { selectedTab = ui.index; alert('selectedTab : ' + selectedTab); }); to kown the selected index. If i click on "tab "1 the selected index returned is correct. But when click on tabs in the second level ("tab 1-xx") the event is fired too. I want to resctriced the bind('tabsselect', function(event, ui) on the first level of tab (tab x). How can i do that ? Thanks

• Add client-side events to ASP.Net custom control at runtime

- by nw
I'm building an ASP.net custom control that implements IScriptControl. I would like other users of my control to be able to assign client-side event handlers to the control. Unfortunately the JS generated by IScriptControl is always injected at the very bottom of the rendered page (see below), so any attempt to assign an event handler in the ASPX page fails because the code executes too early. ... What's the right way to assign an event handler to the instantiated control upon page load?

• Finding the groups of a user in WLS with OPSS

- by user12587121
How to find the group memberships for a user from a web application running in Weblogic server ? This is useful for building up the profile of the user for security purposes for example. WLS as a container offers an identity store service which applications can access to query and manage identities known to the container. This article for example shows how to recover the groups of the current user, but how can we find the same information for an arbitrary user ? It is the Oracle Platform for Securtiy Services (OPSS) that looks after the identity store in WLS and so it is in the OPSS APIs that we can find the way to recover this information. This is explained in the following documents. Starting from the FMW 11.1.1.5 book list, with the Security Overview document we can see how WLS uses OPSS: Proceeding to the more detailed Application Security document, we find this list of useful references for security in FMW. We can follow on into the User/Role API javadoc. The Application Security document explains how to ensure that the identity store is configured appropriately to allow the OPSS APIs to work. We must verify that the jps-config.xml file where the application is deployed has it's identity store configured--look for the following elements in that file: <serviceProvider type="IDENTITY_STORE" name="idstore.ldap.provider" class="oracle.security.jps.internal.idstore.ldap.LdapIdentityStoreProvider">
LDAP-based IdentityStore Provider
</serviceProvider> <serviceInstance name="idstore.ldap" provider="idstore.ldap.provider"> <property name="idstore.config.provider" value="oracle.security.jps.wls.internal.idstore.WlsLdapIdStoreConfigProvider"/> <property name="CONNECTION_POOL_CLASS" value="oracle.security.idm.providers.stdldap.JNDIPool"/></serviceInstance> <serviceInstanceRef ref="idstore.ldap"/> The document contains a code sample for using the identity store here. Once we have the identity store reference we can recover the user's group memberships using the RoleManager interface: RoleManager roleManager = idStore.getRoleManager(); SearchResponse grantedRoles = null; try{ System.out.println("Retrieving granted WLS roles for user " + userPrincipal.getName()); grantedRoles = roleManager.getGrantedRoles(userPrincipal, false); while( grantedRoles.hasNext()){ Identity id = grantedRoles.next(); System.out.println(" disp name=" + id.getDisplayName() + " Name=" + id.getName() + " Principal=" + id.getPrincipal() + "Unique Name=" + id.getUniqueName()); // Here, we must use WLSGroupImpl() to build the Principal otherwise // OES does not recognize it. retSubject.getPrincipals().add(new WLSGroupImpl(id.getPrincipal().getName())); } }catch(Exception ex) { System.out.println("Error getting roles for user " + ex.getMessage()); ex.printStackTrace(); } }catch(Exception ex) { System.out.println("OESGateway: Got exception instantiating idstore reference"); } This small JDeveloper project has a simple servlet that executes a request for the user weblogic's roles on executing a get on the default URL. The full code to recover a user's goups is in the getSubjectWithRoles() method in the project.

• TextBox.TextChanged & ICommandSource

- by Brad Leach
I am following the M-V-VM pattern for my WPF UI. I would like to hook up a command to the TextChanged event of a TextBox to a command that is in my ViewModel class. The only way I can conceive of completing this task is to inherit from the TextBox control, and implement ICommandSource. I can then instruct the command to be fired from the TextChanged event. This seems to be too much work for something which appears to be so simple. Is there an easier way (than subclassing the TextBox and implementing ICommandSource) to hook up the TextChanged event to my ViewModel class?

• Is it possible to load a new Applescript scripting addition whilst my script is running?

- by jkp
According to various documents and discussions this used to be possible: you needed a block something like this in your script: try tell me to «event ascrgdut» end try tell me to doTheFunkyNewThing The event corresponds to hidden event with the undocumented C constant kUpdateAEUT (see here for the declaration of the constant) which should force the scripting additions to be reloaded. I've written a scripting addition and played around with this method of getting it to load but I have had no luck at all. I can only make it load by starting my script after the extension has been installed. Does anyone know if there is a way to make this work? Has this functionality been disabled in more recent OS X releases? I'm using OS X 10.6.2 FWIW.

• SharePoint: Unique column values

- by Anoop
I Want to have only unique values in a SharePoin List. To achieve this I can use 'ItemAdding' event handler as mentioned in the below link. http://weblogs.asp.net/vikram/archive/2008/12/24/sharepoint-using-event-handler-to-make-a-column-unique.aspx Now I have a Doubt: Suppose that two user tries to add list Item in the list with the same column value(which requires unique value) at the same Time. will ItemAdding event would be fired at the same time for both call? If so then there is a possibility that two items having same value in the column. Please confirm.
