    I've seen some questions on catching the paste event. This looks helpful. But I want to prevent paste on a designmode iframe from happening when the pasted content is not plaintext, but comes from MS Word or other WYSIWYG editor. What is experience on that? I suppose I should catch the event (bind to iframe or to its body?) and look for some specific tags in the clipboard. What content does Internet Explorer add every time? [edit] After doing more research I see there is no easy way to work with clipboard in non Internet Explorer browser except some Flash tricks. I don't want them. How can I detect paste in Firefox and others then?

  • ODBC: Mapping of literal type names in create table statements

    I was wondering if data types in a a literal "create table" statement, executed over ODBC, are replaced with their database specific counterparts (platform is Windows/.Net/C#). I cannot find this feature in the ODBC docs, and there seems to be no list of literal "ODBC data types". However, I know that this works for Oracle, SQL Server and Access; the following statement is executed correctly, although the type LONGVARBINARY is no native type in all of these systems: CREATE TABLE (MYCOLUMN LONGVARBINARY) However, e.g. for Oracle the mapped native type depends on the used ODBC driver. Is this an undocumented feature? Is there a list of supported type names anywhere? Thanks!

  • Download HTML and Images with WGet without first few lines

    I'm attempting to use wget with the -p option to download specific documents and the images linked in the HTML. The problem is, the site that is hosting the HTML has some non-html information preceding the HTML. This is causing wget to not interpret the document as HTML and doesn't search for images. Is there a way to have wget strip the first X lines and/or force searching for images?   • Calling IPrincipal.IsInRole on Windows 7

    We use NTLM auth in our application to determine whether a user can perform certain operations. We use the IPrincipal of their current Windows login (in WinForms applications), calling IsInRole to check for specific group memberships. To check that a user is a local administrator on the machine, we use: AppDomain.CurrentDomain.SetPrincipalPolicy(PrincipalPolicy.WindowsPrincipal); ... bool allowed = Thread.CurrentPrincipal.IsInRole(@"Builtin\Administrators") This works if the current user is the Administrator user, or is another user that is a member of the Builtin\Administrators group. In our testing on Windows 7, we have found that this no longer works as expected. The Administrator user still works fine, but any other user that is a member of the Builtin\Administrators group returns false for the IsInRole call. What could be causing this difference? I have a gut feeling that a default setting has changed somewhere (possible in gpedit), but cannot find anything that looks like the culprit.

  • ICC vs GCC - Optimization and CPU architecture

    Hi all, I'm interested in knowing how GCC differs from Intel's ICC in terms of the optimization levels and catering to specific processor architecture. I'm using GCC 4.1.2 20070626 and ICC v11.1 for Linux. How does ICC's optimization levels (O1 to O3) differ from GCC, if they differ at all? The ICC is able to cater specifically to different architectures (IA-32, intel64 and IA-64). I've read that GCC has the -march compiler option which I think is similar, but I can't find a list of the options to use. I'm using Intel Xeon X5570, which is 64-bit. Are there any other GCC compiler options I could use that would cater my applications for 64-bit Intel CPUs? Thank you. Regards, Rayne

    When building a .NET library, what's your exception handling policy? In specific, what's your policy about handling exceptions inside library calls and exposing them to calling code? Would you treat a library function as any other, thus letting all exceptions it can't handle flow out of it as-is? Would you create a custom exception for that library? Would you catch all exceptions and throw the library's exception instead? Would you set the original exception as the library's exception internal exception? How would the library dependence on a DB affect your exception-handling policy? What other guidelines and rules would you suggest?

    Hi folks I have a client-server project (small project for companies in C#) and the server has a DataSet with some tables (there is no Database for some reasons so we save the DataSet as an XML file). when the clients connect to the server, the server should send some informations to the client depends on his privileges and some clients must add to or Delete from the DataSet in the server. I am thinking in Making a new small DataSet and sending it to the client (as xml) but I don't know how to generate a new DataSet with specific tables and rows (I tried to use Linq to DataSet but nothing worked). My Questions is how can I do that and is this a good solution to send informations to clients ? can you suggest a better scenario to send data to clients(I mean instead of making a new DataSet).

    I have a RadGrid where a column in the grid holds a URL. When a put a value in the column I can see the URL but the URL is not clickable (to go to the URL). How can I make the URL clickable? Here is a rough example of what I'm doing now: DataTable table = new DataTable(); DataRow row = table.Rows[0]; row["URL"] = "http://www.google.com"; grid.DataSource = table; In addition I'd really like to show specific text instead of the URL. Something similar to <a href="http://www.google.com">Link</a> in HTML. Is there anyway to do this?

    Hey all, I want to use to connect with RDP from c# code. I have fpund a code_Guru code that does that but need AxMSTSCLib.dll as a reference. One of this dll member is Axhost. I'm using the command axImp.exe to create a AxMSTSCLib.dll: %%\aximp.exe %windir%\system32\mstscax.dll But there is no Axhost (check the object browser through visual studio).   • Google Closure Library - Adding non-TreeNode children to a TreeNode

    Hi, I'm using the Google Closure Library and goog.ui.tree in particular to build a tree structure GUI component. It works pretty well out of the box, but I'd like to add a few extra controls to each of the leaves (goog.ui.Checkboxes in particular). The problem is that Component.addChild has been overridden in BaseNode so that each added child is treated as a child tree node as opposed to a child component. In effect plenty of errors are thrown if you try to add anything else than an actual tree node as a child, as these children are traversed and BaseNode-specific functions are called on them. I must admit I'm quite a Closure newb, but I reckon there must be some workaround for this, right? Essentially all I want to do is have a bunch of checkboxes appear next to each leaf in my tree.   • How to simulate a mouse click on a UIWebView in Cocoa for the iPhone?

    I'm trying to setup automated unit tests for an iPhone application. I'm using a UIWebView and need to simulate clicks on different links. I've tried doing this with JavaScript, but it doesn't produce the same result as when I manually click on the links. The main problem is with links that have their target property set. I believe the only way for this automated unit test to work correctly is to simulate a mouse click at a specific x/y coordinate (i.e. where the link is located). Since the unit testing will only be used internally, private API calls are fine. It seems like this should be possible since the iPhone app isimulate seems to do something similar. Is there any way to do this in the framework?

Developer checks the comments and makes changes (if appropriate) Developer keeps an excel sheet report for considered changes and reasons for ignored comments Problem: Developer needs to keep track of multiple labels which might have same comments Sometimes we even do One on One review and if we really have time, even do Table review (team of reviewers looks at the code on projector, on the fly, and pass comment) I was wondering: Are you guys using any specific tool which helps to do code reviews smoother? I have heard of Code Collaborator. But have anyone used that? Is it worth the money?

    I have to set up an XML "web service" that receives a POST where the 'Content-type header will specify “text/xml”.' What is the simplest way to get the XML into an XDocument for access by VB.NET's axis queries? I don't believe the web service is guaranteed to follow any protocol (e.g. SOAP, etc); just specific tags and sub-tags for various requests, and it will use Basic Authentication, so I will have to process the headers. (If it matters: * the live version will use HTTPS, and * the response will also be XML.)

    I'm sorry to ask such a simple question, but it's a specific question I've not been able to find an answer for. I'm not a native objective-c programmer, so I apologise if I use any C# terms! If I define an object in test.h @interface test : something { NSString *_testString; } Then initialise it in test.m -(id)init { _testString = [[NSString alloc] initWithString:@"hello"]; } Then I understand that I would release it in dealloc, as every init should have a release -(void)dealloc { [_testString release]; } However, what I need clarification on is what happens if in init, I use one of the shortcut methods for object creation, do I still release it in dealloc? Doesn't this break the "one release for one init" rule? e.g. -(id)init { _testString = [NSString stringWithString:@"hello"]; } Thanks for your helps, and if this has been answered somewhere else, I apologise!!     I've added a button as an accessory view to uitableviewcell, and I when I press it, I'd like to be able to access the index path of the table view cell it's currently inside of so I can delete/modify the contents of that cell. Should I subclass UIbutton and add make it have it's own index path property? If so, do I need to implement any specific button methods in that subclass of will they automatically be loaded? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Sorry if this is a noobie question.

    I've just unwrapped my new MacBook Pro (yay!) and am now setting it up properly for development. Since I want to avoid clutter, I'm wondering if I really need to install the Xcode tools at all (I never use the IDE or Mac specific tools), since I'll install a newer version of GCC anyway, using MacPorts. So, is there any benefit in installing Xcode? Is it necessary? What kind of set-up does it do behind the scenes? Basically: can I skip this or will it come back to haunt me because some Unix development tools just assume that OS X is always set up in this way?

  • Just quick: How do you call a mutator from within a constructor in the same class?

    For a homework assignment the instructions state (within Undergrad class): You do NOT need to include a default constructor, but you must write a full parameterized constructor (it takes 4 arguments) -- this constructor calls the parent class parameterized constructor and the mutator for year level. Because Undergrad extends Student, then Student is my parent class, right? I just can't quite figure out how I'm to use my year level mutator (which is just the simplest of methods) to assign my "year" attribute. public void setYear(int inYear) { year = inYear; } public Student(String inName, String inID, int inCredits) { name = inName; id = inID; credits = inCredits; } public Undergrad(String inName, String inID, int inCredits,int inYear) { super(inName, inID, inCredits); year = inYear; } I keep missing assignments because I spend too much time on these small specific points of the homework so just asking for a little help. I swear it's the wording that throws me off on these assignments almost as often as just learning the material itself.

  • NHibernate 2.1.2 in medium trust.

    I'm trying to configure nhibernate 2.1.2 to run in medium trust, without any luck. I have tried follwing the suggestions to run in medium trust and pre-generating the proxies. I then tried to remove all references to lazy loading setting the default-lazy="false" on all classes and bags. However this threw an exception asking me to configure the proxyfactory.factory_class None of these methds worked as they kept throwing generic security exceptions or throwing easying that libraries do not allow AllowPartiallyTrustedCallers. Am I using the wrong version of NHibernate if I want to run in medium trust? Is there a specific set of binaries, or source, which I should be using.

    Hi, I have a wpf datagrid with many rows, each row has some specific behaviors like selection changed of column 1 combo will filter column 2 combo, and what is selected in row 1 column 1 combo cannot be selected in row 2 column 1 combo, etc... So I am thinking of having a view model for the main datagrid, and another for each row. Is that a good MVVM implementation? It is so that I can handle each row's change event effectively. Question is, how do I create "each row" as a user control view? within the datagrid.   • flash dynamic textfield, multiline and wordwrap acting funky.

    I have this weird thing happening with flash and a dynamic textfield. Basically, someone rolls over a marker on a map, and a tooltip pops up with a dynamic textfield. The textfield is set to multiline=true and wordwrap = true, and I defined a specific width of 160 pixels. The problem is, some of my text is jumping to the next line, some of it is just getting cut off. So if I have a line like "The Cat Jumped Over the Box", On one line I will see "The Cat Jumped" and on the next line I would see "the Box". It looks like it is masking out the "over" line and not pushing it to the next line. It's not doing this for everything, just some longer lines. This is a really weird bug and I have tried for 8 hours to get this fixed. Has anyone ran into this problem before?
