• TableView as DetailView's subview with a UISplitViewController?

  I have a UISplitViewController, I used the iPad template to start. To change the type of view in the detailview area, I'm adding my view types as subviews to the DetailViewController's view. This works for UIViewController derived views, but not for UITableViewController view types?. Why would this be? My problem is rooted in the fact that the manufactured DetailView is the UISplitViewController's delegate. To get the correct popover behaviour, I'd like to keep it add buttons to its toolbar and then based on user selection open different details when master list selections are made. Thanks,

  Use VS2010 silverlight business application template to createa defaut solution. Change authentication to Windows in Web.config and the code in app.xaml.cs to use windows authentication. Nothing else changed. Then run this app from vs2010 built-in web server, it is fine, I can see the login user info from windws(from a AD domain account) display on the top-right of the screen, like DomainName\userName. Then deploy this web app to IIS on windows 7(same computer) and access this app again, I got following error: HTTP Error 500.19 - Internal Server Error The requested page cannot be accessed because the related configuration data for the page is invalid.   Hi, I has a Django view which is accessed through an AJAX call. It's a pretty simple one — all it does is simply pass the request to a form object and save the data. • Returning to last viewed List page after insert/edit with ASP.NET Dynamic Data

  With a pretty standard Dynamic Data site, when the user edits or inserts a new item and saves, the page does a Response.Redirect(table.ListActionPath), which takes the user back to page 1 of the table. If they were editing an item on page 10 (or whatever) and want to edit the next item on that page, they have to remember the page number and navigate back to it. What's the best way to return the user to the list page they last viewed? I can conceive of some solutions using cookies, session state, or query string values to retain this state and making my own Page Template to incorporate it, but I can't help thinking this must be something that was considered when Dynamic Data was created, and there must be something simpler or built-in to the framework that I'm missing here.

  So I have a webserver I've built using sinatra, the meat of which goes like this: set :variable,"value" get '/' do erb :index end And, of course, the template in views/index.erb which looks something like this: <html> <!-- etc --> <ul> <% my_array.each do |thing| %> <%="Something: #{thing}, variable from sinatra: #{settings.variable}"%> <% end %> </ul> </html> If you try running code like this you'll notice that you can't access sinatra's settings variable from inside erb templates. Any ideas how I can achieve this while keeping its simplicity? Thanks in advance!

• How do I stub a view in rspec-2

  I'm in the process of upgrading an app to Rails 3/Rspec 2. I see that stubbing a view helper method has changed in Rspec 2. It looks like instead of doing template.stub!, we're now supposed to do view.stub!, but I can't seem to get this to work on beta 10. I get an "undefined local variable or method `view' for # < RSpec::Core::ExampleGroup::Nested_1::Nested_1::Nested_1:0x106785fd0" error. I see that in this commit David removed the view method, but I can't figure out what it was replaced with. Something in ActionView::TestCase::Behavior? I'm on rails 3.0.0.beta3. Any idea what I'm missing?

  I'm hearing this alot, that you can develop an app in WPF and run it as a desktop app or in a browser. Is this really true? I've install visual studio 2010 and I see 2 project templates : WPF Windows Application and WPF Browser Application (XBAP). Currently reading a book on WPF, it talks about Page-Base app, which can be use for navigation. To creatre an app to run on your browser you have to use the WPF Browser Application. So if I start with WPF Windows Application template can I run it in a browser ? I am assuming not since most of my class will be Window and not Page ....

  Having a ModelFormSet built with modelformset_factory and using a model with an optional ForeignKey, how can I make empty (null) associations to validate on that form? The main requirement is to get a very clear and customizable HTML template, which should be hosted by the customer on his own webserver. I'm not very sure if XSLT meets this requirements, as it generates a lot of xsl-related code. It is not easy to understand for people with little HTML skills. I have some experience with the PHP templating engine Smarty. The syntax is much better, but I'm not sure if it's a good idea to parse the XML data with PHP, as it is very complex. Which language should I choose for a web application with high complexity? XSLT or PHP?

• Mutating PDF editable fields programatically

  Out of tons of questions and answers here about manipulating PDF's with PHP, but none of them seem to fit my requirement. Programmatically, I want to be able to update the content of editable fields. Preferably with PHP. If it matters, the PDF files will be initially hand crafted (as sort of 'template' files that will be copied and filled in over and over again). The list of PDF_* functions on php.net doesn't give me anything that looks (directly) promising. Is this possible with PHP? How?

This template applies a CustomerView to an instance of the CustomerViewModel class shown in the main window. <DataTemplate DataType="{x:Type vm:CustomerViewModel}"> <vw:CustomerView /> </DataTemplate> I substituted the angle brackets for square brackets - not sure how to post them. The code is in the MainWindowResourses.xaml and the code starts on line 19. Anyone know how I can do this in Silverlight ?? We don't have the DataType and I need to be able to tell the app that this View is associated with this ViewModel - so I can create a tab control with different view like the demo app. Cheers, EC

  I am trying to start working with excel documents through the OpenXML SDK Spreadsheet API. But I havent found any good guides or even examples on how to create a xlsx file from scratch. Only how to open an existing document and modify it. I have been thinking on having a empty template document and make a copy of it an then begin my proccessing on it. But it doesent feel right. It might be easier but I not comfortable using a technique I dont feel that I understand "pretty" good atleast. I've been trying to create Windows sidebar gadget with button controls that look like circles (I have couple of "roundish" png images). The behavior, I want, is the following: when the mouse hovers over the image it gets larger a bit. When we click on it, then it goes down and up. When we leave the button's image it becomes normal sized again. Cause I'm going to have couple of such controls I decided to implement custom control: like a button but with image and no content text. My problem is that I'm not able to set my custom properties in my template and style. What am I doing wrong? • Different sidebars for each Wordpress page

  I'm making a Wordpress 2.9.2 theme, and I'd like each page to have its own sidebar than can be edited as easily as the page's content. It would be cumbersome to make a different template file for each sidebar. It would also be weird to add a "custom field" containing all the sidebar text, since I wouldn't be able to use the Visual/HTML editor. What I'd like is to have a tag similar to the tag, but instead of delimiting the content to be shown on the front page, it would split the post's content and sidebar. Is this possible? Or is there a better solution?

• Rails 3 shows 404 error instead of index.html (nginx + unicorn)

  I have an index.html in public/ that should be loading by default but instead I get a 404 error when I try to access http://example.com/ The page you were looking for doesn't exist. You may have mistyped the address or the page may have moved. This has something to do with nginx and unicorn which I am using to power Rails 3 When take unicorn out of the nginx configuration file, the problem goes away and index.html loads just fine.   I'm developing some RESTful services in WCF 4.0. I've got a method as below: [OperationContract] [WebGet(UriTemplate = "Test?format=XML&records={records}", ResponseFormat=WebMessageFormat.Xml)] public string TestXml(string records) { return "Hello XML"; } So if i navigate my browser to http://localhost:8000/Service/Test?format=XML&records=10, then everything works as exepcted. HOWEVER, i want to be able to navigate to http://localhost:8000/Service/Test?format=XML and leave off the "&records=10" portion of the URL. But now, I get a service error since the URI doesn't match the expected URI template. So how do I implement defaults for some of my query string parameters? I want to default the "records" to 10 for instance if that part is left off the query string.

  Hello StackOverflow community, Using Google App Engine, I wrote a keyToSha256() method within a model class (extending db.Model) : class Car(db.Model): def keyToSha256(self): keyhash = hashlib.sha256(str(self.key())).digest() return keyhash When displaying the output (ultimately within a Django template), I get garbled text, for example : ?????_??!`?I?!?;?QeqN??Al?'2 I was expecting something more in line with this : 9f86d081884c7d659a2feaa0c55ad015a3bf4f1b2b0b822cd15d6c15b0f00a08 Am I missing something important ? Despite reading several guides on ASCII, Unicode, utf-8 and the like, I think I'm still far from mastering the secrets of string encoding/decoding. After browsing StackOverflow and searching for insights via Google, I figured out I should ask the question here. Any idea ? Thanks !

• Compare Products Sidebar Item Doesn't Show Products

  Hello, When I click "Add to Compare" on a product, a message stating that "such-and-such product successfully added to compare list" appears, however the compare products sidebar shows "You have no items to compare." If I do a print_r($this->helper('catalog/product_compare')->getItemCount()) in template/catalog/product/compare/sidebar.phtml, "0" is returned. Why won't the sidebar show the products to compare? Info: Magento version 1.4.0.1 Sessions appear to work for I can add products to the cart and they will stay in the cart as I navigate around the site. Thank you, Ben

• Notify DataTemplateSelector about the change

  I use DataTemplateSelector for ListView column headers template selection. ListView itself is in DataTemplate and ends up in a few tabs. So, in practice, I have same DataTemplate (so ListView too) shared between more TabItems. This means that if I select tab {A} and set XDataTemplate on ListView column {AColumn}, if I switch the tab, lets say to tab {B}, on {B}'s ListView (that is always the same one) column {AColumn} we will see the same XDataTemplate, because we share same UI data. So I created data layer where I hold relational information about {Tab} <- {ListView:Column} <- {HeaderContent}, which actually reads DatatemplateSelector in order correctly update UI on user screen. What I need is to notify to DataTemplateSelector to update current view in the moment that I need. How can I achieve that goal? Thank you.
