  • Determine if on product page programmatically in Magento

    I want to insert tracking codes on all of the pages of a Magento site, and need to use a different syntax if the page is a CMS page, a category browsing page, or a product view page. I have a custom module set up with a block that inserts a generic tracking code on each page for now. From within the block, how can I distinguish between CMS pages, category pages, and product pages? I started with: Mage::app()->getRequest(); I can see that Mage::app()->getRequest()->getParam('id'); returns the product or category ID on product and category pages, but doesn't distinguish between those page types. Mage::app()->getRequest()->getRouteName(); return "cms" for CMS pages, but returns "catalog" for both category browsing and product view pages, so I can't use that to tell category and product pages apart. Is there some indicator in the request I can use safely? Or is there a better way to accomplish my goal of different tracking codes for different page types?

    As I have been learning about software development the last 2 years the more I learn, it seems the more gray areas I am running into. One gray area I have issues with right now is trying to decide how many layers an application should have. For example, in a WPF MVVM application what fashion of layering is ok? Is the following too separated? When I mention layering I mean creating a new class library for each layer. Presentation (View) View Model Business Layer Data Access Model Layer Utility Layer Or for a non MVVM application is this too separated? Presenation Business Data Access Model Layer Utility Layer Is acceptable to run layers together and just create folders for each layer? Any coloring of this gray area would be appreciated.

  • Why is my UIViewController initializer never called?

    I made a view-based project from a fresh template. There's a UIViewController which is created with an XIB. In the implementation I uncommented that and added an NSLog. But this is never called: // The designated initializer. I do get an NSLog message when I put that in viewDidLoad.

    Hi guys. I have a few text fields and text views on my application's view. The keyboard comes up when I click in anyone of them. I have a method that gets called when any one of these objects is tapped in. However, I would like the method to execute its code only if the a certain Text Field(s) or a certain Text View(s) is tapped in. I would therefore like to have something like this in the method body: { if(currentField != mySpecialField) {return;} //Rest of the method code... } Now, my question is, how do I get a reference to the currently tapped in field so that I can perform the if-check. Thanks guys. I'm a total noobee in Objective-C. :(

  • JQuery Menu plugins under ASP.NET MVC seem to only work in Chrome, but not in IE & FireFox

    Recently, I was trying to prototype some jQuery-based menu into ASP.NET MVC. Just to name two examples here: plugins.jquery.com/project/columnview www.filamentgroup.com/lab/jquery_ipod_style_and_flyout_menus/ Their demo page looks great, but when I integrate their sample code into MVC, the script no longer works in IE and FireFox, but it seems to work just fine under Google Chrome. Can someone kindly enough to point out what I missed? I will be honest here. I am still new to JavaScript, so it is still a learning phase to me, so any help is highly appreciated. I have placed a copy of my VS2010 solution zip file @ http://db.tt/0UNDkN Here is what I did. (If you download the solution file and run it, you should be able to repro this as well). Next, tried with FireFox, not working either, same result as IE. Finally, when I try it under Google Chrome 4.1 (lastest version), and the script displays just fine. Really puzzling here :-/ Thank you for reading :D

    Hello I have a gridView which I use to show some pictures on (small thumb of diffrent levels). When the user finishes one level, I would like to change the thumb for that level. (Somehow show that it has been completed). I created two thumbs for each level. One is the original and one that shows that the level is completed. But how can i change the source of the images? The code which I use to draw the images looks like this.   • Can't check more than one RadioButton across multiple items in a Treeview

    I’m using a TreeView control to present a list of Questions. Using the Prism.DataTemplateSelector, I'm loading a View (.xaml file) that represents a single Question into each node in the TreeView. In the View for that question is a ListBox containing RadioButtons (one for each item in a Picklist object that the ListBox is bound to). The radio buttons work as expected for the question, but when I check a RadioButton on another node/question in the TreeView, the check for the button in the Question I was editing before disappears. In other words, I'm only able to check one RadioButton in the whole list of Questions/Items bound to the containing TreeView. How do I group the RadioButtons in the ListBox to the scope of the single question instead of all the questions in the TreeView.

    I'm trying to implement a plugable architecture in asp.net MVC. I have based my modules on the following article - http://www.wynia.org/wordpress/2008/12/aspnet-mvc-plugins. I have a DLL that contains a simple controller, and a view. The view is an embedded resource within the DLL. The problem I'm having is, if I drop the DLL in the bin directory of my MVC application manually, then everything works perfectly i.e. the assembly loads correctly. But when I copy the DLL from a file upload input box (via a web form) into the bin directoy, I get an error (The module was expected to contain an assembly manifest.) when trying to load the assembly. I use the same DLL, what could the problem be?

It works with a L tag but then the URL is different: RewriteRule ^videos\/coverage\/view\/236159\-([0-9a-zA-Z-]+) http: //website.com/static/236159.html [L, NC] My goal is to keep the URL the same but the content different. Can anyone point out to what flags are needed in order to get this working properly? Thanks!

  • UINavigationController Push Crash in Distribution but not Release

    I have a UINavigationController that I will be pushing a new view onto from selection of a UITableView row. I have tested this feature in "Release" configuration and it works perfectly, however when I build for "Distribution" it crashes when trying to push the new view onto the stack. - (void)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView didSelectRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { /* irrelevant code */ DetailsViewController *detailController = [[DetailsViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"DetailsViewController" bundle:nil]; detailController.name = tmpName; detailController.time = tmpTime; [self.navigationController pushViewController:detailController animated:YES]; return nil; } An exception is thrown on the line where the controller is pushed onto the stack. I have verified that the detailController is not nil. Again, this only happens in my "Distribution" build of the code. Any ideas?

    Hi all, i am using jCarousel as a menu in my website. there is a list of links there which is longer than its containing elements and jCarousel is used as a scroll bar to view that list. my problem is that whenever a link is clicked and a new page is loaded, jCarousel resets to its begining position thus sometimes an active link is no longer visible after the page reloads. any idea how i can make jCarousel focus on the specific active link? you can see an example of what i mean here: http://174.133.190.8/~goldarch/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=50&Itemid=57 (check out the menu on top) thank you all.

  • Django: Geocoding an address on form submission?

    Trying to wrap my head around django forms and the django way of doing things. I want to create a basic web form that allows a user to input an address and have that address geocoded and saved to a database. I created a Location model: class Location(models.Model): address = models.CharField(max_length=200) city = models.CharField(max_length=100) state = models.CharField(max_length=100, null=True) postal_code = models.CharField(max_length=100, null=True) country = models.CharField(max_length=100) latitude = models.DecimalField(max_digits=18, decimal_places=10, null=True) longitude = models.DecimalField(max_digits=18, decimal_places=10, null=True) And defined a form: class LocationForm(forms.ModelForm): class Meta: model = models.Location exclude = ('latitude','longitude') In my view I'm using form.save() to save the form. This works and saves an address to the database. I created a module to geocode an address. I'm not sure what the django way of doing things is, but I guess in my view, before I save the form, I need to geocode the address and set the lat and long. How do I set the latitude and longitude before saving?

    I am building an application where the user browses certain objects by scrolling and zooming. To change the zoom level I have successfully implemented a "dijit.form.HorizontalSlider" object. Every time the user changes the position of the silder, I can catch the "onChange" call and do something with that. However, the user can also zoom-in by double clicking inside the view zone, at which point the slider should change position automatically to reflect the new zoom level. My question is the following: what function or method should I call in my javascript to update the position of a dojo silder ?     I'm learning WPF with MVVM and for a starter, I viewed Jason Dolinger's video on MVVM . In that he mentioned, that one of the advantage of using MVVM with WPF is two-way data binding. My question is what does he mean by two-way data binding? Is that the feature of ability to 1) bind data from controls(View) to properties in VM and 2) any change in collections or properties are reflected in the view? If I'm wrong, can anyone please explain me in detail what it is and what are its advantages? This might be a very simple doubt, but I'm very new to WPF and it's terminologies and moving away from WinForms now.

    I have a class instance variable on one of my AR classes. I set its value at boot with an initializer and, after that, never touch it again except to read from it. In development mode, this value disappears after the first request to the web server. However, when running tests, using the console or running the production server this does not happen. # The AR class class Group < ActiveRecord::Base class << self attr_accessor :path end end # The initializer Group.path = File.join(RAILS_ROOT, "public", "etc") # First request in a view %p= Group.path #=> "/home/rails/app/public/etc" # Second request in a view %p= Group.path #=> nil Is there something about development mode that nukes instance variables from classes with each request?     I have a UnitOfWork/Service pattern where I populate my model using NHibernate before sending it to the view. For some reason I still get the YSOD, and I don't understand why the object collection is not already populated.     Is there a way to view stack elements like un-assigned return values or exceptions that not assigned to a local variable? (e.g. throw new ...) For example, suppose I have code along the lines of: public String foo(InputStream in) throws IOException { NastyObj obj = null; try { obj = new NastyObj(in); return (obj.read()); } finally { if (obj != null) obj.close(); } } Is there any way to view the return or exception value without stepping to a higher level frame where it is assigned? This is particularly relevant with exceptions because you often have to step back up through a number of frames to find an actual handler. I usually use the Eclipse debugging environment, but any answer is appreciated. Also, if this cannot be done, can you explain why? (JVM, JPDA limitation?)

  • Rotation of ViewController in TabbarController

    I have a custom UIViewController in a UITabbarController and want to respond to rotation events. When a rotation occurs, the tabbarcontroller and the viewcontroller get rotated. However, the view in the viewcontroller doesn't get redrawn properly: the layout doesn't autoresize and it is black on parts of the screen. The strange thing is that it works when I go to another tab and the back again to my original viewcontroller. What could possibly be wrong? I checked that didRotateFromInterfaceOrientation:fromInterfaceOrientation is being called. However, the view.frame.size values are still the old ones from before the rotation. That's probably not correct.

  • PHP/HTML Strange refresh problem

    After I upload my PHP files to my web host, I view the page by the URL. So what I usually do as I work on the page is make a change, upload, then refresh the browser to view my changes. What I find is that sometimes I refresh and it shows me a previous version of the page, I hit refresh 5 times and it shows me 5 different versions of the page some old changes some new changes, it makes it really difficult to know which is the latest version. I dont think this is a local caching problem, Ive disabled caching in all browsers, the problem occurs in IE, FF, Chrome I have a feeling it might be the web server. I believe the hosting company uses Zeus (?) web server product.
