• Subversion post-commit hook

  I am trying to get SVN to copy files to my htdocs folder on commit. Here is what I have so far in my post-commit.bat: "C:\subversion\bin\svn.exe" update "C:\apache\apache2.2\htdocs" When I look at the log files created by the hook I get the following line: Skipped 'C:\Apache\Apache2.2\htdocs' Does anyone know why this is happening? No matter what directory I choose as a destination, I get the same error. I am running SVN 1.6.4, Tortoise 1.6.8, Apache 2.2, WinXP SP3 I am not using username and password because there is no security set up on the SVN repository. It's just me developing. Thanks

• Android SDK: Create image on touch

  Hello, I'm a bit stumped here, I'm trying to make it so an image (already in the drawable folder) gets created everytime you touch the screen and removed when the finger is lifted. I have the touch part coded already, overriding the onTouch method with a couple switch cases that handle each type of action (down, up, move, etc). But I can't for the life of me figure out how to make the image appear and then disappear with the coordinates (matrix?) of where the finger is. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

• No such directory when committing files using CVS from Eclipse

  Hi all I am using Eclipse solely as a CVS client. Mostly it works very good, but once in a while, when I am right-clicking a file to commit it (a file that it itself says is changed and ready for commit), it tells me "cvs [server aborted]: no such directory `...' But the directory DOES exist?! If I navigate to the folder using tortoise CVS and right click for commit, it works fine? (this is the way I finally have to get those files committed) Has anyone experienced this as well, and more importantly - has anyone solved it? :) I am running Vista on the client PC and the CVS server is a Windows Server 2003 (please dont tell me to just switch to Linux - that is not much help). • Monitoring .NET ASP.NET Applications

  I have a number of applications running on top of ASP.NET I want to monitor. The main things I care about are: Exceptions: We currently some custom code which will email us when an exception occurs. If the application is failing hard it will crash our outlook... I know (and use) elmah which partly solves the problem however it is still just a big table of exceptions with a pretty(ish) UI. I want something that makes sense of all of these exceptions (e.g. groups exceptions, alerts when new ones occur, tells me what the common ones are that I should fix, etc) Logging: We currently log to files which are then accessible via a shared folder which dev's grep & tail. Does anyone know of better ways of presenting this information. In an ideal world I want to associate it with exceptions. Performance: Request times, memory usage, cpu, etc. whatever stats I can get I'm guessing this is probably going to be solved by a number of tools, has anyone got any suggestions?

• Why does File::Find finished short of completely traversing a large directory?

  A directory exists with a total of 2,153,425 items (according to Windows folder Properties). It contains .jpg and .gif image files located within a few subdirectories. The task was to move the images into a different location while querying each file's name to retrieve some relevant info and store it elsewhere. The script that used File::Find finished at 20462 files. Out of curiosity I wrote a tiny recursive function to count the items which returned a count of 1,734,802. I suppose the difference can be accounted for by the fact that it didn't count folders, only files that passed the -f test. The problem itself can be solved differently by querying for file names first instead of traversing the directory. I'm just wondering what could've caused File::Find to finish at a small fraction of all files. The data is stored on an NTFS file system.

• Opinions sought on the best way to organise classes in PHP

  I am pretty much set on using the Java package naming convention of com.website.app.whatever but am unsure about the best way of doing this in PHP. Option 1: Create a directory structure com/ mysite/ myapp/ encryption/ PublicKeyGenerator.class.php Cipher.class.php Xml/ XmlHelper.class.php XmlResponse.class.php Now this is how Java does it, it uses the folders to organize the heirarchy. This is however a little clumsy in PHP because there is no native support for it and when you move things around you break all includes. Option 2 Name classes using a periods for the package, therefore sames are just like in Java but can all be in the same directory making __autoload a breeze. classes/ com.mysite.myapp.encription.PublicKeyGenerator.class.php com.mysite.myapp.encription.Cipher.class.php com.mysite.myapp.xml.XmlHelper.class.php com.mysite.myapp.xml.XmlResponse.class.php The only real disadvantage here is that all the classes are in a single folder which might be confusing for large projects. Opinions sought, which is the best or are there other even better options?

  Hello, I am trying to create a debugfs file using the debugfs_create_file(...).   hi, i have setup Sphinx and tested Hello World and its working fine. but i wanted to change the words. so i change the WSJ extension and edited the Dictionary and included the name which i wanted with the phonemes. and then i zip it and again change the extension type to jar and checked. but it says "WARNING jsgfGrammar Can't find pronunciation for nugegoda" and when i talked to some friends about it they asking me to put that word to the language model also but i cannot find such a language model in the library folder. please can someone help me the normal english words are working fine. i hope someone help me on this.

• Forcing Windows to re-scan for drivers

  As part of our software's installation, we install drivers for a required 3rd party hardware component. Currently it's up to the user to manually scan for their hardware's drivers once our installation is completed. Is there an easy way to get Windows to automatically look for the drivers we installed? If so, how does it work? Do we need to tell the OS for which hardware device we have drivers, or just that we have drivers in a certain location? Or can we just install the drivers to System32 folder and trigger a driver rescan?

  Hi guys... I'm nearly ready to distribute my vb.net application. I have several picturebox files which are loaded currently from c:/temp I need to change this directory to one that will be OK to use when the user installs it to their PC. My question is how can I do this? Is there a way to get the installation path, then use that within the code as a variable? eg: myInstalledPath & "/xxx.jpg" Or... would it be better for me to use mypictures within the mydocuments structure? I'd rather keep all the image files created in a folder which is more hidden from the user (by hidden I mean not cluttering up their own image folders!) I've tried searching for this, but I seem to get varying results with no real answers... (possibly searching for the wrong thing!)

  I have built a website and now the customer wants to split it between three different domains. What is the best way to do this? This is what I have so far. c:/website1/ points to www.website1.com c:/website1/vd1/ points to www.website2.com c:/website1/vd2/ points to www.website3.com The webhost I'm working with has done it the following way, but now I'm getting a bunch of errors that seems like it's not seeing the App_code folder.   As we can see in Photoshop layer window (or other image editting tool also), it has several features: groups with folder-like header (collapse/expandable) ungroupped item (no header) sort "manually" by dragging. In case of No 1, I made groupped item with expander control. • ASP.NET Long Process and Sending updates to Browser

  Hello, I've asked this before but I was hoping for another answer and perhaps some code samples because I've been having a difficult time with this. I have an asp.net page. The user hits the "Run" button and I have code IN AN ASSEMBLY, not in the APP_CODE folder that is called and runs a long process that moves product info from a file into the database. While the user waits, I would like them to see status updates like what product the import process in on and status info. I'm assuming I'd break off into another thread and use Ajax but I have no idea how to do this. Some code samples would be very helpful, thanks.

• Cant get Tomcat6.0 to work with Windows 7 Environment

  Prior to upgrading to windows 7, I was able to use Tomcat 6.0, but when I upgraded to the new Windows, and downloaded Eclipse EE, and downloaded the apache content, I am unable to get Apache to run. When I attempt to start my apacher server through either system tray, or even windows services, it gives the followign error screen. "Windows could not start the Apache Tomcat 6 on local computer. For more information review the system event log. Refer to server specific error code 0." I have been able to locate some forums about error code 0, and some other documentation on this problem, but none of the solutions seems to work. One of the solutions I came across said to take the msvcr71.dll (mscvrt.dll on new platforms) and put it into the bin folder of apache. This also did not work. Does anybody know a fix for this problem, or a way to get around it so I can get my server up and running thanks.

  It seems that it is suggested we can commit often to keep track of intermediate changes of code we wrote… such as on hginit.com, when using Mercurial or Git. However, let's say if we work on a project, and we commit files often. Now for one reason or another, the manager wants part of the feature to go out, so we need to do a push, but I heard that on Mercurial or Git, there is no way to push individual files or a folder… either everything committed gets pushed or nothing get pushed. So we either have to revert all those files we don't want to push, or we just never should commit until before we push -- right after commit, we push?

If I call myfile.open("xpo.dll") I might get an error because I am not passing the [fullpath + name + extension]. The program that is being executed can vary paths depending on the installation path.   I have a winform project which lists all the files in a specified folder. It allows the user to select a new destination for each file, and when the user has chosen the destinations for all files that he would like to be moved, it moves the files, one by one. My next step is, I need to display a confirm form when the files are being moved, and add each file's name and destination to the confirm form as it is being moved. My question is: How can I add more text to the confirm form's controls after I already loaded it (using confirm.showdialog() from my other form, without any user interaction? I imagine that I need to do it from the original form, because it needs to display each one when it starts to move that file, but I'm open to any suggestions:) TIA

• ASP.NET Compiles on page load, but not on Ctrl+Shift+B

  during debug in cassini the code runs fine, but when I explictly build it, the compile breaks on an object saying it can't find the reference. During a breakpoint shows the proper reference to the object, and I can view the debug intellisense. The code itself is simple using CFTW.Controls; ... controls_LatestPresentations c = LoadControl("~/controls/LatestPresentations.ascx") as controls_LatestPresentations; c.loadContent(); return RenderControl(c); The control is a simple user control, with the namespace CFTW.Controls. The calling code is in a webcontrol, which lives in the same folder. I even tried adding the calling code to the same namespace.
