  • Call private method in Flex, Actionscript.

    I need it in FlexUnit to test private methods. Is there any possibility to do this via reflection by using describeType or maybe flexUnit has some build in facility? I dislike artificial limitation that i cannot test private functions, it greatly reduces flexibility. Yes it is good design for me to test private functions, so please do not advise me to refactor my code. I do not want to break the encapsulation for the sake of unit testing.

There are two things that I want to ask in this- What is the significance of calling the constructor of the parent class with the event arg? super(LOGIN) in the example Why do you need to overrride the clone method?     I am trying to: 1) create a dynamic property 2) bind that property to a label This works great for "sealed properties", but for dynamic properties there doesn't appear to be any event triggered. Are dynamic properties implicityly not bindable? var myObj:MyType = new MyType(); // MyType is dynamic myObj["myDynamicPropertyName"] = "initialized"; BindingUtils.bindProperty(myLabel, "data", myObj, repeatedLabel.name); // myLabel now displays "initialized" myObj["myDynamicPropertyName"] = "changed"; // myLabel still displays "initialized", it should say "changed" !!!

The XML goes like this: <company> <branch> <name>finance</name> <emp> <ename>rahul</ename> <phno>123456</phno> </emp> <emp> <ename>sunil</ename> <phno>123456</phno> </emp> <emp> <ename>akash</ename> <phno>123456</phno> </emp> <emp> <ename>alok</ename> <phno>123456</phno> </emp> </branch> <branch> <name>finance</name> <emp> <ename>sameer</ename> <phno>123456</phno> </emp> <emp> <ename>rahul</ename> <phno>123456</phno> </emp> <emp> <ename>anand</ename> <phno>123456</phno> </emp> <emp> <ename>sandeep</ename> <phno>123456</phno> </emp> </branch> </company> I tried it with taking XML in XMLList: var xl:XMLList = new XMLList(branch.ename) var xlc:XMLListCollection = new XMLListCollection(xl); then applied sort to the <ename>. I am able to get the sorted but XMLListCollection but the problem is I got the <ename> collection sorted but I need the sorted <ename> in the XML. I tried with deleting the the item in Collection then adding the sorted list but in that case the <name> is lost. Please help me out in sorting <ename> or is there any way to specify nested tags in SortField name? Thanks in advance.

    Hi, We have an AIR app and using a datagrid. We want to store the dataGrid.columns array in mySQL DB through PHP. This is needed because the user can customise the column headers of the datagrid and his preference needs to be stored and shown to him on his next login. Using HTTPService, we tried sending the dataGrid.columns array as a string, as follows, var ht:HTTPService = new HTTPService(); ht.url = Config.getServerURL(); ht.method = URLRequestMethod.POST; ht.resultFormat = "text"; ht.request["action"] = "updateGrid"; ht.request["headercolumns"] = colsArray.toString(); The data is stord as comma separated array string in DB. When we retrieve it back, cannot seem to cast it back to the DatagridColumns and assign it. Please let me know. Regards Jada.

  • Flex datagrid - determining when grid has completed renderering?

    hi, i have a datagrid which contains a number of itemrenderers, it is populated each time a user does a search. Is there an event which can tell me when the datagrid has completed rendering all new rows and item renderers? I need to trigger an event once everything has been created so that i can resize then container which holds the grid. Currently im using DataGridEvent.HEADER_RELEASE and CollectionEvent.COLLECTION_CHANGE events to manage this however the problem with these events is that they get called as each new row is being added to the datagrid. therefore the whole process is becoming sluggish. Does anyone have any suggestions?

When I add 50 new buttons to it, a vertical scrollbar is added. How can I make it not show the scrollbar but change it's height dynamically so that all the added items are always shown. Kinda like an "expanding" tile.

Its rotate nicely but the problem is the position is not in right place. i.e. it is not in (50,50) after rotate. How can i solve this problem? Thanks in advance.

Flex can display HTML, and SWF, it can also call JavaScript - but can I incorporate an applet somehow?   • Is there a way to set the minHeight of the scroll bar thumb in Flex 3

    In my project we needed to make the scollbars look like Windows scrollbars. Therefore I have a thumbIcon on the thumb of a vertical scrollbar, but if I get too many items in the combobox, the scrollbar gets fiddly. This is because the margin between the thumbIcon and the border of the thumbSkin is too small. Is there a way to set the minimum height of the thumbSkin so that I can ensure there is always a margin there and it always looks good, even if there are too many items? Image above, see the thumb? By the thumbIcon I mean the 3 horizontal lines. The top and bottom margin between this icon and the border of the thumb itself is too small. This is the normal scroll bar, the thumbIcon and the borders of the thumb have enough margin, which make the scroll bar look a lot better.
