  • iPhone UITextField controlling background color

    - by Stephen Joy
Greetings, I am unable to control the background color of a UITextField with a borderStyle= UITextBorderStyleRoundedRect. With this border style the backgroundColor property only seems to control a very narrow line along the inner edge of the rounded rectangle. The rest of the field remains white. However, if the borderStyle is set to UIBorderStyle=UITextBorderStyleBezel then the entire background of the UITextField is controlled by its backgroundColor property. Is this a feature? Is there a way to control the backgroundColor of a UITextField with a borderStyle=UITextBorderStyleRoundedRect? Thanks, Stephen

  • C# resize all elements in form when resizing form

    - by vale4674
NOTE: I can't put more than one hyperlink so i deleted letter "h" on begining of every link I have this image as the background of the form: ttp://img811.imageshack.us/img811/3347/31886905.jpg So my form looks like this: ttp://img823.imageshack.us/i/cisto.jpg/ When i resize it it looks like this: ttp://img820.imageshack.us/i/cistoumanjeno.jpg/ Now what I need to do is to put listeners on every rextangle like on the picture: ttp://img810.imageshack.us/img810/238/18887457.jpg I made transparent panels and put them on form to match the rectangles on the image (on image, panels are green so you can see where they are): ttp://img809.imageshack.us/i/paneli.jpg/ but when I resize the form it turns like this: ttp://img810.imageshack.us/i/paneliumanjeno.jpg/ anchor and dock properties don't work because they rely on parent container and here rectangles are on background image. QUESTION: I would like to do something like "relative-resize and position". Is that posible? So when I resize form, all the panels fits the rectangles on image.

  • How to set child unordered list position?

    - by Joel
    Hi folks. I have a nav bar with children unordered lists nested under the main navbar items. My problem is on the inner list, when I position absolute, the inner list is centered to the page, and when I position relative, it is positioning inline with the parent list. I'm trying to get the first child item to line up directly under it's parent. /* OUTER LIST STYLING */ div#navbar2 { position:relative; width: 100%; border-top: solid #000 1px; border-bottom: solid #546F8B 1px; background-color: #546F8B; } div#navbar2 ul#navbar { padding: 0; margin: 10px 0; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; letter-spacing:1px; color: #FFF; white-space: nowrap; } div#navbar2 ul#navbar li { margin: 0 2px; list-style-type: none; display: inline; } div#navbar2 li a { text-decoration: none; color: #fff; padding: 10px 10px; } div#navbar2 li a:link { color: #FFF: } div#navbar2 li a:visited { color: #ffffff; } div#navbar2 li a:hover { color: #000; background-color: #FDFFC9; } /* INNER LIST STYLING */ div#navbar2 ul#navbar li ul.innerlist{ display: none; color:#000; } div#navbar2 ul#navbar li ul.innerlist li{ color:#000; } div#navbar2 ul#navbar li:hover ul.innerlist { position: absolute; display: inline; left: 0; width: 100%; margin: 40px 0 0px 0px; padding: 0px; color:#000; } div#navbar2 li.innerlist a { text-decoration: none; color: #000; padding: 10px 10px; } div#navbar2 li.innerlist a:link { color: #000: } div#navbar2 li.innerlist a:visited { color: #000; } div#navbar2 li.innerlist a:hover { color: #000; background-color: #FDFFC9; } And my html: <div id="navbar2"> <ul id="navbar"> <li id="index"><a href="index.php">About Rattletree</a></li> <li id="upcomingshows"><a href="upcomingshows.php">Calendar</a></li> <li id="booking"><a href="booking.php">Contact</a> <ul class="innerlist"> <li class="innerlist"><a href="#">Booking</a></li> <li class="innerlist"><a href="#">press</a></li> </ul> </li> <li id="instruments"><a href="instruments.php">The Band</a> <ul class="innerlist"> <li class="innerlist"><a href="#">The Instruments</a></li> <li class="innerlist"><a href="#">The Players</a></li> </ul> </li> <li id="classes"><a href="classes.php">Sights &amp; Sounds</a> <ul class="innerlist"> <li class="innerlist"><a href="#">Listen</a></li> <li class="innerlist"><a href="#">photos</a></li> <li class="innerlist"><a href="#">video</a></li> </ul> </li> <li id"classes"><a href="classes.php">Workshops &amp; Classes</a></li> </ul> </div> Thanks for any help!

  • Android ListView background colors always showing grey.

    - by fiXedd
I have a ListView that I'm populating from a custom ListAdapter. Inside the Adapter (in the getView(int, View, ViewGroup) method) I'm setting the background color of the View using setBackgroundColor(int). The problem is that no matter what color I set the background to it always comes out a dark grey. It might also be worth noting that I'm using the Light theme. Relevant (simplified) bits of code: AndroidManifest.xml: <activity android:name=".MyActivity" android:theme="@android:style/Theme.Light" /> MyAdapter.java: @Override public View getView(int position, View convertView, ViewGroup parent) { LayoutInflater inflater = LayoutInflater.from(mContext); View av = inflater.inflate(R.layout.my_row, parent, false); av.setBackgroundColor(R.color.myRow_red); mName = (TextView) av.findViewById(R.id.myRow_name); mName.setText("This is a name"); return av; } Any ideas/suggestions?

  • Start position for a reused t- sql cursor?

    - by Span
I'm working on a stored procedure that uses a cursor on a temporary table (I have read a bit about why cursors are undesirable, but in this situation I believe I still need to use one). In my procedure I need to step through the rows of the table twice. Having declared the cursor, already stepped through the temporary table once and closed the cursor, would the position of the cursor remain at the end of the table when re-opened or does it reposition itself to the initial starting position (ie: before the first row)? Alternatively, to reposition the cursor must I do a 'FETCH FIRST' before stepping through again? Am I right to assume the 'cost' of doing this repositioning and reusing the cursor would be less than deallocating and reallocating the cursor?

  • IE6 and fieldset background color?

    - by codemonkey613
Hey, I'm having some difficulty with CSS and IE6 compatibility. URL: http://bit.ly/dlX7cS Problem #1: I put a background image on the fieldset around Canada and United States. In IE6 and IE7, the background bleeds above the border-top of the fieldset. So, I found a fix. It is applied only to IE browsers, and moves the legend up a few pixels, aligning the background correctly. <!-- Fix: IE6/IE7, Legends --> <!--[if lte IE 7]> <style type="text/css"> fieldset { position: relative; } fieldset legend { position: absolute; top: -0.5em; left: 0; } </style> <![endif]--> This fixes IE7. But in IE6, it seems to make my legend for Canada vanish completely. Does anyone have a copy of IE6 they can open my site and tell me if you see Canada label. (I am testing with a multi-IE program, and it keeps crashing. My copy might not be accurate). If it's not there, any suggestions on how to fix it? Also, any suggestion on where I can download working copy of IE6? Problem #2: I have a Google Map embedded using iframe. The width of that iframe is 515px. In Firefox, Chrome, IE7 -- that is the correct alignment. But in IE6, it gets <br/> underneath the Just Energy paragraph beside it. It doesn't fit. I have to change width to 513px for it to fit. Uhm, anyone know where those 2px of difference happen? I removed border, padding, margin from the iframe, but still something is happening. <!-- Google Maps --> <iframe class="gmap" src="http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?hl=en&amp;ie=UTF8&amp;msa=0&amp;msid=100146512697135839835.000481e2a2779e8865863&amp;ll=42,-100&amp;spn=20,80&amp;output=embed" frameborder="0" marginheight="0" marginwidth="0" scrolling="no"></iframe> <!-- / Google Maps --> Er, big headache. lol

  • UITableView background customization strange behavior

    - by Omer
Hi, There is a couple of hours that I'm trying to set a tableView background image. My controller is a subclass of UITableViewController, and I simply wrote this lines of code in ViewDidLoad method. UIImage *image = [UIImage imageNamed:@"home-portrait-iphone.png"]; UIImageView *imageView = [[UIImageView alloc] initWithImage:image]; self.tableView.backgroundView = imageView; Everything looks great on the simulator, I mean, I see my table and as background view, y can see the image. But when the app is running on the device (ipod touch), I get this error: Program received signal: “SIGABRT”. and the stack says: * -[UITableView setBackgroundView:]: unrecognized selector sent to instance 0x812e00 Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInvalidArgumentException', reason: '** -[UITableView setBackgroundView:]: unrecognized selector sent to instance 0x812e00' and the exception is thrown in the assignment, a mean this line: self.tableView.backgroundView = imageView; any ideas? Thank you in advance.

  • Background Image in JTextPane

    - by Nivas
How do I set a background image to a JTextPane - some sort of a watermark. I tried this option - creating a child class of JTextPane and use the paint method to draw the image. But then the text is displayed "below" the image than above. Is there any "standard" or "well known" way to do this? (BTW, I tried (something silly?) making the content type "text/html", and setting the image as the background image of a <div> but it did not help.)

  • CSS Position Absolute constant top margin

    - by Brian
This question sounds simple but I'm an expert with CSS and I'm thinking it's impossible (a RARE thing). Is it possible to use CSS to give a a page a constant top margin if that div has no background (e.g. you can see through it)? Basically, I want the background image to be visible in the top 100px of a site, so that even when scrolling down, that top-margin remains in place. You can look at some live code here: http://cl.ly/40oY Here's a little infographic of what I'm attempting to do: http://cl.ly/40xt Thanks!

  • How to print css applied background images with the winforms webbrowser control

    - by Geir-Tore Lindsve
I am using the webbrowser control in winforms and discovered now that background images which I apply with css are not included in the printouts. Is there a way to make the webbrowser print the background of the displayed document too? Edit: Since I wanted to do this programatically, I opted for this solution: using Microsoft.Win32; ... RegistryKey regKey = Registry.CurrentUser .OpenSubKey("Software") .OpenSubKey("Microsoft") .OpenSubKey("Internet Explorer") .OpenSubKey("Main"); //Get the current setting so that we can revert it after printjob var defaultValue = regKey.GetValue("Print_Background"); regKey.SetValue("Print_Background", "yes"); //Do the printing //Revert the registry key to the original value regKey.SetValue("Print_Background", defaultValue); Another way to handle this might be to just read the value, and notify the user to adjust this himself before printing. I have to agree that tweaking with the registry like this is not a good practice, so I am open for any suggestions. Thanks for all your feedback

  • webkit translateX animation is rolling back to initial position

    - by Cedric Dugas
    I am trying to do a images gallery for mobile webkit, The only way it is actually fast enough is using the hardware accelerated translateX . My problem is that the div take back its initial position at the end of the animation. I add the slideGalLeft class cliking on the left button. to the animated div You can see an example here, in the callback events section: http://position-absolute.com/jqtouch/demos/main/#home .slideGalLeft { -webkit-animation-name: slideColis; } @-webkit-keyframes slideColis { from { -webkit-transform: translateX(0%); } to { -webkit-transform: translateX(-100%); } }

  • given two bits in a set of four, fine position of two other bits

    - by aaa
hello I am working on a simple combinatorics part, and found that I need to recover position of two bits given position of other two bits in 4-bits srring. for example, (0,1) maps to (2,3), (0,2) to (1,3), etc. for a total of six combinations. My solution is to test bits using four nested ternary operators: ab is a four bit string, with two bits set. c = ((((ab & 1) ? (((ab & 2) ? ... ))) : 0) abc = ab | c recover the last bit in the same fashion from abc. can you think of a better way/more clever way? thanks

  • Silverlight 3 Application Background

    - by Rich Blumer
    I am new to Silverlight development. I have created a nice png file in Expression Design. I would like to use this png file as the background for my application. When I set the Stretch property to fill, it does not fill the entire page like I think it should. Here's the xaml: <Grid x:Name="LayoutRoot"> <Grid.Background> <ImageBrush ImageSource="IgniteTechDesign.png"/> </Grid.Background> <Border x:Name="ContentBorder"> <navigation:Frame x:Name="ContentFrame" Style="{StaticResource ContentFrameStyle}" Source="/Home" Navigated="ContentFrame_Navigated" NavigationFailed="ContentFrame_NavigationFailed"> <navigation:Frame.UriMapper> <uriMapper:UriMapper> <uriMapper:UriMapping Uri="" MappedUri="/Views/Home.xaml"/> <uriMapper:UriMapping Uri="/{pageName}" MappedUri="/Views/{pageName}.xaml"/> </uriMapper:UriMapper> </navigation:Frame.UriMapper> </navigation:Frame> </Border> <Grid x:Name="NavigationGrid" Style="{StaticResource NavigationGridStyle}"> <Border x:Name="BrandingBorder" Style="{StaticResource BrandingBorderStyle}"> <StackPanel x:Name="BrandingStackPanel" Style="{StaticResource BrandingStackPanelStyle}"> <ContentControl Style="{StaticResource LogoIcon}"/> <TextBlock x:Name="ApplicationNameTextBlock" Style="{StaticResource ApplicationNameStyle}" Text="Application Name"/> </StackPanel> </Border> <Border x:Name="LinksBorder" Style="{StaticResource LinksBorderStyle}"> <StackPanel x:Name="LinksStackPanel" Style="{StaticResource LinksStackPanelStyle}"> <HyperlinkButton x:Name="Link1" Style="{StaticResource LinkStyle}" NavigateUri="/Home" TargetName="ContentFrame" Content="home"/> <Rectangle x:Name="Divider1" Style="{StaticResource DividerStyle}"/> <HyperlinkButton x:Name="Link2" Style="{StaticResource LinkStyle}" NavigateUri="/About" TargetName="ContentFrame" Content="about"/> </StackPanel> </Border> </Grid> </Grid> Thanks in advance.

  • Low Power Speed Monitoring

    - by user555584
I am aware of speed detection via gps, however as a background app, I am concerned about high power drain. I am looking to detect speed, say over 5mph, but it does not have to be accurate, say like a speedometer. Is there a low power way to detect if the phone is in motion, say by triangulation, or tracking tower strength and new/recently lost towers? I have an app design that is dependent on running in the background upon launch and knowing if the phone is in a car or not. Thanks!

  • Change background color of disabled listbox in windows classic theme

    - by Mercury821
I am developing a WPF application that must run using Windows Classic theme. The application creates a dialog box containing a ListBox. When the dialog box is shown, it must be disabled for 1s before accepting any input. I am accomplishing this with a style trigger, and it works. However, the ListBox shows a white background when it's disabled, which I can't seem to get rid of. When using the aero theme, the following style resource fixes the issue: <SolidColorBrush x:Key="{x:Static SystemColors.ControlBrushKey}" Color="Transparent"/> But when using Windows Classic theme, the white background reappears. How can i remedy the situation for Classic theme???

  • CSS vertical centering split background image not overlapping

    - by user295292
    is it possible to split 2 images vertically and when resizing the browser, it wont overlap but stay vertically centered? can the left image stay fixed so the right side of it won't cut off(overlap) this is what i have now, but when resizing the browser smaller, it pushes the left image underneath the right. rather have the images cut off on the outer sides and never overlap each other in the middle, make sense? #wrapper { width:1680px; max-width:1680px; height:500px; margin: 0 auto; } #left-image { width: 50%; position:absolute; left: auto; height:500px; } #right-image { width: 50%; position:absolute; right: 0px; height:500px; }

  • How to "kill" background worker completely?

    - by Ken Hung
Hi All, I am writing a windows application that runs a sequence of digital IO actions repeatedly. This sequence of actions starts when the user click a "START" button, and it is done by a background worker in backgroundWorker1_DoWork(). However, there are occasions when I get the "This backgroundworker is currently busy......." error message. I am thinking of implementing the following in the code, by using a while loop to "kill" the background worker before starting another sequence of action: if (backgroundWorker1.IsBusy == true) { backgroundWorker1.CancelAsync(); while (backgroundWorker1.IsBusy == true) { backgroundWorker1.CancelAsync(); } backgroundWorker1.Dispose(); } backgroundWorker1.RunWorkerAsync(); I think my main concern is, will the backgroundWorker1 be "killed" eventually? If it will, will it take a long time to complete it? Will this coding get me into an infinite loop?
