• Show up value of select option in IE

  Hello, I have a problem with a html select object and its options in IE. My html <select id="Select1" onchange="closeMenu1(this.value)"> <option></option> <option>1</option> <option>2</option> And the javascript function closeMenu1 (x) { var show = document.getElementById("divID"); show.innerHTML = x; } Now, in every browser except the IEs the divID will show up the value which I selected in the select object. But IE doesn’t. Can somebody please tell me a way around that? Thanks.

  I have 'div' element (recaptchaDiv) in knockout template which is not bound to any observable field: <div id="recaptchaDiv"></div> On the other hand, I update this 'div' by 3rd party library. In particular, this is google recaptcha. This is my code: Recaptcha.create("[my private key]", "recaptchaDiv", { theme: "clean", callback: Recaptcha.ToTest }); And it doesn't work (I see nothing). What I know: trying on FF console: $("#recaptchaDiv").html() - it shows the expected html code, I just can't see it in the browser What I tried: to move recaptchaDiv outside of the template and it works: I can see the captcha in the browser to bind recaptchaDiv on html property: in the template: <div id="recaptchaDiv" data-bind="html: recaptcha"></div> in the model: Recaptcha.create("[my private key]", "recaptchaDiv", { theme: "clean", callback: Recaptcha.ToTest }); recaptcha($("#recaptchaDiv").html()); and it doesn't work (replacing jquery on document.getElementById doesn't help) Any help will be very much appreciated!!! • Intellisense for Javascript - not correct in Visual Studio 2008/2010

  var obj = document.getElementById("header"); Given the above code snippet, I should be able to wire event handlers. For example, I can wire onMouseDown to the mouse down event, the issue is that Visual Studio does not display this in the Intellisense. I'm trying something such as: obj.onmousedown = mousestatus; Based on a book I'm reading, the code is valid (at least it works) therefore I see no reason why Intellisense is not picking it up. I've tried this on both a standalone Javascript file, as well as an MVC project to no luck. Is there anything I'm doing wrong - or is there a way to resolve this?

  Hey, Is it possible that the same name used can have many different values stored separately and to be shown in a list? e.g. function save() { var inputfield = document.getElementById('field').innerHTML; localStorage['justified'] = inputfield; } <input type="text" id="field" onclick="save();" /> Everytime someone enters something in the input field, and click on save, the localstorage will only save the value in the same name, however, does this conflict the way storage are saved, like being replaced with the latest input value? Also, is there anyway to prevent clearing the localstorage when clearing the cache? Thanks.

  I am trying to do some screen-scraping of a website. The content that I want to get is inside of an IFrame. How do I get the InnerText or HTML that is being displayed inside of the IFrame? I am using .Net 4.0 and C#. I want to be able to do this from a WinForm.   I have an input text box for search of input, the id of the text box is: id="search". if a user enters 'cat' at first and hit search. In the function, I get the value 'cat' by using the syntax: var input = document.getElementById("search").value; After that, the user enter 'dog' in the search box and hit search using the same function. The function would assign 'dog' to the input variable. How would I compare the current value (dog) to the previously entered value (cat)? I have tried to assign the original input with a statement, something like var orig = input; but that would only overwrite the original input with the new input. What is the logical approach to this problem.

• ASP.NET: How to specify which button should defaultly react for an Enter press?

  I have a webpage where there are two buttons and a textbox. When the page loads and user presses enter, the first button is clicked - and that is ok. I would like to assure that if user enters the textBox and types anything there and THEN presses enter, the second button is clicked. When I enter the textBox I can tell that the first button will be used when I press enter, because it is a bit dark-blue-bordered then. I tried javascript's if (event && event.keyCode == 13) document.getElementById("Button2").click(); but it somehow doesn't work. So my second thought was that there must be a possibility to tell the browser which button should defaultly react for an enter press when I'm in a specific textBox (the dark-blue-bordered button). Edit: it might matter that first button is input and the second one is asp:Button

• Javascript parent page redirection from iframe.

  Hello to all. I need to implement parent page redirection from iframe. I know that it is impossible to do in different domains due to browsers security. However I found that links have target attribute and tried to use it in the following way: <a href="http://google.com" target="_top" id="testParentRedirect">someLink</a> It works fine if I click this link manually, but I couldn't find cross-browser solution to simulate it using javascript. document.getElementById('testParentRedirect').click(); This works fine in IE, however Firefox and Safary don't know click function :). I tried to work with jquery, but for some reason they don't simulate click event for links. (see following post) I couldn't find any appropriate solution on stackoverflow. Maybe someone could help me in it. I will appreciate it. :)

  I am working with .NET 1.1. The RadioButtonList's AutoPostBack is set to TRUE. I added a client script to display an alert with the selected value. But, the alert is displaying twice - before and after the post back. In my second window I've a button If I click on that button my intension is to reload parent page (i.e page1). • Iframe auto-height not working when page changes in IE

In other browsers the iframe gets resized, because the onload event fires each time. I'm using IE8 but the outer page is setting it to IE7 compatibility mode. Is there a workaround for IE?

  I searched but couldn't find an answer to this seemingly easy question, so... Suppose I have a loop in which I need to set callbacks. My callback function looks like this: function callback(var1) { // code } Now my loop is something like this: for( //condition) { var x = something_different_each_time; document.getElementById('foo').addEventListener('click', function() { callback(x); }, false); } Now it looks like even if the loop runs n times, the anonymous function is compiled only once -- and hence every invocation of callback is called with the same argument (even though x varies in the loop every time). I must be missing something here.. any help is greatly appreciated! :)

  I have a master-detail page, in which I use GridView to display multiple rows of data, and DetailsView + jQuery dialog to display the details of a single records. only one DetailsView is open at a time. I need to be able to pull out a single field of the open DetailsView, for manipulation using JavaScript. Is there a way to give a unique ID to a given field in DetailsView, so I can use getElementByID? Or is there another way to accomplish what I'm trying to do? Thank you in advance.
