• Windows Server Backup 2012 error - "The version does not support this version of the file format."

  I'm trying out Windows Server 2012, specifically Windows Server Backup, as it would be a very useful way to see us through until we can upgrade our 'real' backup system. I'm backing up to a network share, and a Server 2008 WSB works fine. On the 2012 server however, I get an error: Backup of volume \?\Volume{298d1a7d-f80f-11e1-93e8-806e6f6e6963}\ has failed. The version does not support this version of the file format. It's a VHDX written by WSB, so I'm not sure what version it's complaining about. I can see a whole bunch of files in the destination, so I don't think it's a simple authentication issue, but I only get about 8Mb of VHDX written.

• `which python` points to the python I want, but `python` runs the wrong version

  I want to use python24 provided by ports, so I've installed it, and python_select -s shows that the version I want is indeed selected. Running which python gives /opt/local/bin/python, and running /opt/local/bin/python gives me the version I want. However when I run python from the shell, I get the /usr/bin/python version instead. I don't have a python alias. Here's the situation in a nutshell: I believe the path is set up sensibly, and which python seems to confirm this. alias only returns 1 entry, which is something unrelated to this. Nevertheless, running python from the bash shell gives me the wrong python! I'm kind of stumped! What am I overlooking?

• Installing mysql-devel to match MySQL version

  I'm running MySQL 5.1.52 on CentOS 4.6 and I'm trying to install mysql-devel to match my MySQL version. If I do yum install mysql-devel it wants to upgrade MySQL to 5.1.58, yet if I do yum search mysql-devel, in addition to finding 5.1.58, I get a match for: 5.1.52-jason.1 .. utterramblings .. Matched from: mysql-devel Why is yum trying to install an updated version and is there any way to get it to install the correct version without the need to upgrade MySQL? I'd appreciate any help.

• Obtain newer version of NetSNMP for CentOS 5

  I'm using CentOS 5. I have a need to use net-snmp version "net-snmp-utils-5.5-37.el6_2.1.x86_64" which is currently available in CentOS 6 but not in CentOS 5. The reason I need this version (or greater) is because there is a new supported option added to the config files that I need for my setup. It would be very much appreciated if someone would give me some steps to install this version (or greater) on my production CentOS 5 systems. Upgrading to CentOS 6 is currently not an option.   I want to upgrade my current running applications to latest version. But due to some package issue i am unable to install them. I get common error in that: /usr/lib64/libstdc++.so.6: version 'GLIBCXX_3.4.15' not found.   I am running Windows 7 Professional x64 and have the following Java versions installed: x64 C:\Program Files\Java jdk1.6.0_24 jdk1.7.0_04 jdk1.7.0_07 jre6 jre7 x86 C:\Program Files (x86)\Java jre1.6.0_07 jre6 jre7 in my environment variables I have my PATH containing C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_24\bin and JAVA_HOME set to C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_24\bin However running java -version reports java version "1.7.0_07" Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.7.0_07-b10) Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 23.3-b01, mixed mode) How is this the case when there is no reference to this version of Java in my Environment variables. Any help on this issue would be great as I am trying to run Apache ANT using Java 1.6.

  I have a big problem with the Portuguese version of MS Office 2007 and 2010. The standard shortcuts that any common application uses are changed. Some shortcuts that are not working: Ctrl+S (save), Ctrl+F (find) and Ctrl+A (select all). I want to configure it to use the shortcuts of the English version. There is an option that allow to configure each shortcut separately. Furthermore, I have to configure for each app, if I configure in Word, I will have to configure again for Excel. How to use the shortcuts of the English version of MS Office regardless of the Office language? Thanks

• Apache Upgrade Version

  I have a live server that I need to upgrade Apache from 2.2.10 to 2.2.15 on Windows Server 2003. I have just inherited this server and need the fastest way to upgrade to the latest stable version without much downtime and without messing up my configuration. My first thought is to copy the httpd.conf, uninstall the current Apache, install the latest stable Apache version and then replace the httpd.conf with the previous live version. Anyone see a problem or pitfall with that? How does a Server Pro do something like this. (I'm a programmer and am new to server systems administration).

• WSUS Showing Incorrect Version & Client Update Failure but they can check-in

  One of the issues we are having is the clients will not download the updates from our WSUS server. They check-in as they are suppose too and find applicable updates but they are unable to actually download and install them. The GPO is set correctly. We decided to install the patch KB2720211to see if it would help eleviate this issue but it did not. In fact, even stranger, if I check the version that is installed on WSUS it reads 3.2.7600.226 but as far as I know it should read 3.2.7600.251. If I check Add/Remove programs to see what Windows Updates have been installed it even lists for WSUS that KB2720211 has been installed at version 3.2.7600.251. To install this update I followed the following directions Question: Has anyone seen this issue where the patch is installed yet not showing the correct version? What can I try to get my clients to update?

• azure website restart and take old dll version

  One of my site is hosted on windows azure and when azure restart site from manage windows azure panel. then it take old version dll and site is down until we restart the site by deploying global.asax or change in web.config to restart the site. after deployment of global.asax or change in web.config site is restart and then it work perfectly and take latest dll. so if any issues with my code then it should not work after the restart by deploying global.asax file so i think issues is not from code side. Error like "Could not load type 'DSF.DATA.Repository.RecurringOrderLogResposity' from 'DSF.DATA Version 1.0.0" I am just deploying changed dll using FTP & site restart and take effect successfully I have already resolve this error and uploaded latest dll too but when site restart from azure panel it back and then site down until i restart the site by deploying global.asax file so i think issues is not from code side. please please help I am in big trouble as my site is live site and there are lot of traffic Thanks Vipul

  I have root ssh/terminal access to a linux server. How do I determine which version of centos I have? Some people suggested I run the command cat /etc/redhat-release but I got an error saying file not found. In fact, i'm not entirely sure i'm even using CentOS. That's what some suggested it might be. • Open original Microsoft Office document (not "version 1") on Mac OS X Lion restart

  My MacBook Pro running Lion has been frequently freezing lately, and I've had to restart with the power button. When Lion starts up again, the Microsoft Office applications that were running start and load different autosaved versions of the documents I had open (i.e. it does not open abc.xlsx but [version 1] of abc.xlsx). Sometimes it also opens the original files. Several times I've inputted data into these "version 1" files, only to try to save it and realize that it isn't the original file and is sometimes missing data that is contained in the original file. Is there any way to make autorecover open the actual document with the unsaved changes, instead of making a new temporary version?

• How To Check My Current Version of FFMPEG

  I have FFMPEG installed on 2 different servers. On one of the servers, i run into an issue every time i try to convert m4v files where ffmpeg just processes the file indefinitely. When I take the same source file and try to run it on the other server it seems to work just fine. Both servers are running the same version of GNU/Linux. Some one suggested i check to see if the same version of ffmpeg is installed on the servers, so my question to you all is, "how do i check my ffmpeg version?" Thanks!

  I'm trying to troubleshoot a database import problem and want to duplicate the environment onto another server. This will require installing an older version of mysql, but the packages that are listed are only showing a recent version. I'm currently running debian wheezy 7.1 and what was installed was the packaged 5.5.31. What is the official way to install an older copy? I guess I could hunt around Google and hope to find some files of the same version to install from source, but this doesn't seem like a reliable method.

• Netbeans autocomplete unusably slow/nonfunctional in Netbeans 6.8 Latest

  I'm running a 2.5Ghz C2D with 4GB RAM, so there's no reason hardwre-wise why Netbeans should be peforming so poorly. Using the latest Netbeans release and grails plugin (installed via the plugin manager), automcomplete is either too slow to use or doesn't work at all. If I'm within a class, and I attempt to auto-complete a field, it takes 3-4 seconds before being able to finish the field name. If I'm in a class of the same package (like a unit test), I can't get any of the properties to appear on the object. Furthermore, it says "Scanning in progress" for a full 5-6 seconds before pulling up the method list. Is there a way to fix this behavior?

• asp.net InsertCommand to return latest insert ID

  Dear all, I'm unable to retrieve the latest inserted id from my SQL Server 2000 db using a typed dataset in asp.NET I have created a tableadapter and I ticked the "Refresh datatable" and "Generate Insert, Update and Delete statements". This auto-generates the Fill and GetData methods, and the Insert, Update, Select and Delete statements. I have tried every possible solution in this thread http://forums.asp.net/t/990365.aspx but I'm still unsuccesfull, it always returns 1(=number of affected rows). I do not want to create a seperate insert method as the auto-generated insertCommand perfectly suits my needs. As suggested in the thread above, I have tried to update the InsertCommand SQL syntax to add SELECT SCOPY_IDENTITY() or something similar, I have tried to add a parameter of type ReturnValue, but all I get is the number of affected rows. Each post has a foreign key relation to a "Thread" and a "User" as well as a creation date. The trick is I don't want to show two posts by the same user or two posts in the same thread.   Hello all, I hope I can give feedback like this. It may be just me and others may have already suggested this but is there a way to view our recent comments in our account profiles? I mean I can see questions asked, questions answered etc. But there are loads of questions where I add a comment to the question asker and when I leave the site, I either have to remember what the question was to go back and check if anyone has posted anything. Simply, I think having a place where we can view our latest comments if not all our comments in the control panel/user area would be great! Thanks all

• Simple MySQL Query taking 45 seconds (Gets a record and its "latest" child record)

  I have a query which gets a customer and the latest transaction for that customer. Currently this query takes over 45 seconds for 1000 records. This is especially problematic because the script itself may need to be executed as frequently as once per minute! I believe using subqueries may be the answer, but I've had trouble constructing it to actually give me the results I need. SELECT customer.CustID, customer.leadid, customer.Email, customer.FirstName, customer.LastName, transaction.*, MAX(transaction.TransDate) AS LastTransDate FROM customer INNER JOIN transaction ON transaction.CustID = customer.CustID WHERE customer.Email = '".$email."' GROUP BY customer.CustID ORDER BY LastTransDate LIMIT 1000 I really need to get this figured out ASAP. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  What is a scalable way to select latest 10 items from each category. I have a schema list this: item category updated so I want to select 10 last update items from each category. The current solution I can come up with is to query for categories first and then issue some sort of union query: query = none for cat in categories: query += select top 10 from table where category=cat order by updated I am not sure how efficient this will be for bigger databases (1 million rows). If there is a way to do this in one go - that would be nice. Any help appreciated.

  I'm having difficulty getting full-text search working in SQL Server 2008 Express with Advanced Services. I have a table loaded with .DOCX files as varbinary(MAX) data that I want to use for a full-text catalog, but it doesn't seem to recognize the .DOCX format. Here are the steps that I've taken... Installed the latest Filter Pack 2.0 Exec sp_fulltext_service 'load_os_resources', 1 Exec sys.sp_help_fulltext_system_components 'all' (NOTE: .DOCX is not shown as a filter) Building the full-text catalog fails to identify any key words I initially thought there might be a conflict between x86 SQL Express and x64 Filter Pack on my Windows 7 machine, but I just tried it with everything x86 in a Windows XP virtual machine and got the same result.

  I have a log table, each row representing an object logging its state. Each object has a unique, unchanging GUID. There are multiple objects logging their states, so there will be thousands of entries, with objects continually inserting new logs. Everytime an object checks in, it is via an INSERT. I have the PrimaryKey, GUID, ObjectState, and LogDate columns in tblObjects. I want to select the latest (by datetime) log entry for each unique GUID from tblObjects, in effect a 'snapshot' of all the objects. How can this be accomplished?
